Review: I bought my car in 2013 and along with the horrible service I received, there was no disclosure of any accidents on my car. I went in to have my car appraised to trade in at another dealer and it turns out there is frame damage on the title. This made my cars value go from (based on the current mileage) 12,000 to 5,000. Because of this, I am unable to trade this car in.

This dealership is overall very unprofessional. No one knew my name, I dealt with three different people while purchasing the car and they didn't inform me of the need for gap insurance.Desired Settlement: I want the difference in value refunded to me or to have my car replaced with a similar one with a clean title

Response:

The car the customer purchased does have a clean [redacted] report. The value given at another dealer isn't always the best deal. If the customer would like to come back to Barberino Nissan we can guarantee the highest trade in value possible based of the cars current condition and miles.VIN: [redacted]

Review: They say [redacted],3500 dollars. They don't give that too you . They say it goes off your credit score. That false adversities. They are need to say it in there commercials. Are give people what they say. I would never recommend no one to go there. I'm ashamed I any dealt with them. They also sell cars way over price. They also give high rates. 18.99 Apr , which is triple your paying what the car is. Please look into this.Desired Settlement: I want 3500 for my car. To go toward my purchase.

Response:

I have tried to locate a sale to the person opening the complaint but it appears either the name is spelled incorrectly or she did not purchase a vehicle. Please contact the dealership and ask for a manager to pursue this further.

Review: June 3, 2013- Went into baberino and met [redacted] my sales man. It was a hot day, he showed me the cars that I was going to be approved for which was the 2011 whit Altima SE, the cars were very close together and there wasnt really a way to do a walk around the car. We drove the car to the front of the building and we went inside to do paper work. They then took the car and drove it to the back I guess. I realy really wanted a sun roof and I was basically told that wasnt going to happen, but I was told by [redacted] he was able to get tints put on the car. Which made me excited, but the tints wernt able to be put on until everything from the bank was processed. There were insurance issues that day so I didnt take the car home that day. I never seen the car again.June 4, 2013- I came after work to pick up my car it was very latethey drove it around the corner, he told me that he would call me when my plates and reg came in. I drove from the dealership in Wallingford to my home in [redacted]. I pulled the car into the drive way walked to the porch turned and looked at the car. And I noticed there were scratches on the back door, and what looked like a dent. My dad then came outside to see the car, and the first thing that he said to me was what are all these scratches and this dent in the car? I then sent my sales man [redacted] a txt msg telling him about the dents and scratches that we seen on the car. He told me to bring the car by so they can take a look. I spoke to [redacted] several times on the phone and he said that it could all be done when I came to get my plates.June 10, 2013-I went to the dealership so the manager could look at the dend in the door. His name was [redacted], then mae very clear to me that the dent in to door was not going to be fixed because the car was used. But they would fix the scratches. And the car would be detailed. So my sales man [redacted] told me to bring my car back on Wednesday, 6/ 12 so the car could be detailed, and the scratches fixed.June 12,2013- Iwent to the dealership, I was dropping the car off because they agreed to fix the scrathes, but not the dent. When I arrived I asked for my sales person and I was told that he left for the day, which was strange to mee because he told me not to come on Tuesday because he wasnt gonna be there. I explained the situation, and they went to get [redacted]. I waited then a man names [redacted] came around the corner we walked outside and he told me that he was going to get me some touch up paint. I looked at him confused. Then I asked him if I was suppose to do this myself, and he sad yes, so I asked him to go and get [redacted]. So [redacted] came out side and was somewhat confused as to why I was there that day. I explained to him that I was told to drop my car off because the scratches were going to be repaired , and that I was leaving with a loaner car. He then told me that my salesmen did schedule an apt for my car to be detailed that day. I asked him how that was my problem I was here now. He then said that he was going inside to check to see if they had any open apts. I never saw him again. As im sitting there in the passenger seat with the door open, I notice that there is water dripping from the bottom of the door. I looked at [redacted] and said do you see this water leaking? He said its probably just draining form the rain. 5 mins later it was still dripping so I said to [redacted] I dont think that this is suppose to be doing this and I started to move the rubber piece on the bottom , and all of this water began to pour out. So [redacted] came back outside and [redacted] showed him, he moved the rubber piece and more water began to pour out, there was a puddle and it was running out the drive way. [redacted] the sales man looked baffled, he asked me for a credit card, license, and is card, and he walked away. 2 mins later a older man in a pink shirt walked over to me asked me to sign a form, and he was telling me that they were giving me a rental car, I was confused, so I asked him if someone was coming back out to talk to me, was the manager [redacted] coming back out??? Where was [redacted]?...So he then went inside to get someone [redacted] came back out and I asked him what the [redacted] was going on. Were they fixing the door, the scratches was someone going to talk to me and explain to me what was going on? He then told me that that were going to take the car, fix the leaky door, and the scratches. And he drove my car away. June 13, 2013- I called to see what was going on with my car, the repair shop explained to me that the problem with the door was very very minor and that there were just pie needles clogging the tubes that help the water to drain from the doors. He then told me that my car was ready to be picked up. I asked him If the scratches were repaired, he said the body shop handels that. I then was transferred to my sales man [redacted], I told him that I didnt want me car back until the scratches were fixed and the tints were put on the windows, he said okay.June 20 2013- my car is ready I drive to Wallingford too go pick up my car, I was told that the tints were going to be on the windows, all of the scratches were going to be repaired, and the car was going to be detailed. When I got there I saw that the windows were done, walked around to the passenger side, and it looked like the put a line of white out on all of the scratches. He then told me that I needed to bring that car back in 2-3 weeks so they could put the clay over the scratches and the new paint. At that point I was confused because they had my car for a week, what was done besides the windows? When I opened my car door to get in, the same dust was on the dash board the same leaves were on the carpet, so the car also wasnt detailed like they said it would be.June 21, 2013- I called the body shop and they knew nothing of my car, they that they hadnt see it and they werent sure what I was talking about. He then told me that a lot of people wernt happy with baberino. I explained to him what th

The car can be brought in anytime to be detailed. It has been detailed twice. We will do it a 3rd time for free. Have Ms [redacted] come see me personally for cosmetic work and I will evaluate what it needs. We do own a body shop that can accommodate any repairs.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

There is no way that the car was detailed twice, both time that I got it back it was still dirty. Who exactly is it that I am going in to see? My car has been dropped off tuesday 6/25/13, the manager Raul called me and said the the owners have agreed to send my car to the body shop ([redacted]) to fix all of the scratches, and the dent on the passanger back door, and also for the car to be detailed all of this being done the correct way.I was told that my car should be ready in 2 weeks, and if it isnt repaired to the proper way I will not except this settlement.

Review: July 2012 I went to Barberinos to finance a car, they said that I needed a co-signer so I asked my brother. After I test drove several cars until I found the car I really wanted, the sales person ([redacted]) told us that it would work out better if the car was put in my brother name instead and within 12months of on time payments I would be able to take it back to Barberinos and get refinanced so I can then change it in my name. Well it's been 18 months of on time payments and they are refusing to help me out. No other car dealer understand how Barberinos got the car in my brothers name and the insurance in my name. My brother needs the car out of his name and I need it in mine. No dealer can help me, they say I qualify for an auto loan but they can't use the car as a trade in and I can't afford to pay for two vehicle. Not even with a $3000 that I'm offering as part of the down payment.Desired Settlement: I want them to put this car in my name and take care of the money that the car is flipped for. I suffer from depression and anxiety, and this is taking me over the edge. Actually I want the car paid off, no one should have go thru this nonsense. They're making me feel helpless, angry, and extremely depressed.

I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] sight manager called me the day after they received the Revdex.com complaint and left me a message asking why had I gone to a third party instead of speaking to them directly. He sounded annoyed so I returned his call to explain the situation. I explained that I did in fact speak to 2 Barberino employees, I spoke to [redacted] ( internet manager), and [redacted] (salesperson), and was told that they could not do any thing for me. [redacted] said he would look into it and call me back. Instead I got a call back from [redacted], once again explained what happen to him and his response was that they are in the buisness of making all customers happy and will make sure to resolve my problem, he would bring this to the Barberino brothers attention and call me the next day( Wednesday). The call never came thru so I waited until Thursday called and ask for [redacted], he was off so I asked to talk to [redacted]. That conversation was a joke, he finished by saying he'll have [redacted] call me Friday. Still no call from Mr [redacted] !!! I really want Barberino to take the car back free and clear, so that I may be able to get a car else where without my brothers signature. I don't even trust going into that dealership, I think they trying to stretch this out to see if I back away but I can't, my brother and I are not in good terms because of the huge headache that Barberino had created.

I did save all emails and phone messages if needed

Sincerely,

Consumer

Response:

Hi I am still waiting for a response from Barberinos. I call and leave messages but no return calls. The last person that I did speak [redacted] and he said that they were waiting for a car to come in. This was back in March. They pulled my credit twice in February 2014, I've been very patient with them and all they want to do is play games. They should have never said that I could refinance the car I my name after a year if they were not going to honor it. They even gave me a signed letter saying to bring the car with in a year of on time payments and they would refinance the car in my name. I have saved all internate responses if needed. There is no car dealer willing to help me because the car is not in my name, they'll finance a car but don't want to take my car as a trade in ? Please all I want is the car in my name, I don't want another car from THEM, I will take my buisness else where. Thank you for your time. [redacted]

Review: Dishonest sales people and Mgmt. was given the run around all day,a very unprofessional company that treat people with not good credit like dirt.

I went to Barberino Nissan and filled out a credit app not having good credit but was going off there "Guarantee Credit Approval" add, I was approved for X amount of dollars as stated by the Finance Mgr. I needed a 7 passenger Vehicle and they didn't have one in my price range, so they told me to go to their other dealership in Watertown that just opened up if I found anything they could transfer it out there. I didn't find anything there at the time and continued to search their websites. On Thur. evening they did have a 7 passenger vehicle in stock that I was interested in. I told their sales associate that I had been accepted by their other dealership in Wallingford. I would come back on Fri @12pm I could not make it in called to give the sales man my information so he could pull up my approval. He stated he would call me back which he didn't, when I called him 2hrs later he stated that they could not find my approval and it was Fri nobody was avail. He stated he would call me back when he found something out(Never a return call). I then called the Wallingford office and spoke to a sales man that I explained the situation to gave him my information he said "I will call you back in 15mins" he called back in 10 with the approval he asked to meet then, he stated he would come from Wallingford to Watertown because they could not transfer the Vehicle (After the first time they said they could). I was not able to meet at that time so we scheduled for Sat at 11am. I went into the Watertown dealership Fri. evening with my Fiancé so he could see the Vehicle and we could test drive it since he had to work Sat. morning. When we pulled up the same sales man that never returned my call was standing outside and stated that they couldn't find anything stating that I was approved, I walked in right to the Finance man who remembered me asked about my approval and he said they did have it. At this point I was frustrated but I knew the sales man from the other office was coming in the morning an was happy to deal with someone who was honest and upfront. They wanted me to have all the paper work ready then but I told them I would wait for the sales guy in the morning just wanted to test drive it.(They were not happy about that but I feel ** deserved the sale). Once test driving it the man rushed me back to the dealership after checking his watch three times. I stated I liked the Vehicle and would be back in the morning. Sat is here my Fiancé and I clean out my trade and are excited to get a new vehicle. I have a friend run a vin check and found out the Vehicle had been in an accident and I also realized that the price of the vehicle had been gauged within the last 24 hrs by $3000.I called the sales man I was meeting right away and was shocked to be informed that he said he wouldn't be coming out and that they would be taking care of me in Watertown. I explained about the accident and price difference he said he would get back to me with answers about it. No one returned my call so when I call ** back he stated the Vehicle has been rewinded not sure what that meant, he said they cancelled the deal not sure why. I then had him transfer me to [redacted] who was the Acceptance Mgr. and ask him what's going on he feed me a bunch of bs an then tells me I am approved that he can get me in a Vehicle its Sat. and he's busy so he will have to call me back OMG WITH THE CALLING BACK..GUESS WHAT HAPPEN..NO CALL BACK. 3hrs and I call and ask to speak to [redacted] the General Mgr they don't transfer me to him then I ask to speak to the owner they tell me to hold guess who comes on the line [redacted] lol this time I'm [redacted] he then tells me he can't get that Vehicle that's in Watertown's and gives me [redacted] # who I call an he doesn't have my approval LMAO an ask for my info now all of a sudden they can't do the deal. I truly believe it was because another sales man was coming from another store. I am very disappointed in this company an don't recommend them.Desired Settlement: I want the Vehicle that I test drove for the price they told me for the approval that was given to me. AND the respect, recognition and apology that I deserve nothing more nothing less.

Have the customer call me personally. This complaint is excessively rambling. Ms. [redacted] is approved if she qualifies for the vehicle we will be more than happy to see it to her. If Ms. [redacted] did not like the price of the vehicle she is also more than welcome to purchase something else where. I will do anything I can to get her into the vehicle she wants.

Review: I brought my car in for service with a blown engine. The extended warranty was not honored because I was two receipts short showing scheduled oil Maintenance. The cost new engine the cost would be $3100. I did not have kind of money to fix the car at the time. During March of 2013 Barberino said if I buy a new car the issue with car and the car would go away. It took me until October to come with $1700 for a down payment. I went down to purchase a new car my father was going to cosign. Verbally Barbarino told me the interest rate would be 4.5 percent. When me and father went down to sign the paperwork they said the interest rate would be 8 percent and that I would still be responsible for the car. Barberino had also charged me $5800 in storage fees or $20 a day doubling to amount left on the loan. At no point did they tell me that they where charging me $20.00 a day in to storage fees. My father and I decided that I couldn't afford the car on top on the loan. So when we turned it down they came back and said that you now owe us $6200.00 for the storage and that the $1700.00 I put for a down payment would not be returned so it could be applied to the money I owed in fees. What was a bill for $3100.00 is now a bill for $6200.00.Desired Settlement: I would like my 1700$ back and the the storage fees of $5800 taken back.

Business

Response:

We will be more than happy to return the deposit money. Actually the deposit money was never asked for back. As far as storage I can waive all but $1000 of the fees. So the total bill will be $1000. Keep in mind we have had this car in our possession for months and months. Come see me so I can return you your money down. 1 simple phone call would have sufficed.

Review: we purchased a vechicle in 2010 and barberino's talked us in to using the smart payment plan that they offer. So we wanted to know when our car was going to be payed off so we called the phone number on the paper they gave us when we purchased the car. The smart payment people said they did not have updated info on our loan. we have been making payments for almost 3 years now. so we called [redacted] to get our payment info from them and they told us that we still have 3 more yearsto pay the car off. now when we purchased the car barberino's finance guy told us that it would be payed off 7 months earlier then the finance company told us using the smart payment option that they recommended. So to try and get this resolved we spoke to [redacted] the finance guy and he blew us off. He said he could not help us at this time call back later. You would think he would want to help a customer and he was very rude about it.so I think we paid in the end more then we should have. I don't know where to go from here.

Product_Or_Service: [redacted] edge

Desired Settlement: I would like to know why they will not answer our question about the smart payment option when asked. it makes no sense to me. I know we overpaid for that car anyway but our credit was not good at that time. So I know they took advantage of us and there is nothing I can do about that. But I do want an answer about this issue. We have not saved any money by doing the smart payment plan as they promised.

Mr [redacted] can cancel this service or contact smart directly. To my knowledge he has never contacted out dealership to ask a question about smart or his amortization schedule. Barberino Nissan does not understand the reasoning for a complaint of this nature especially for a third party service that does nothing but draft payments from the customer to the bank. The complaint should be with smart payment plan if he feels the service is not saving him money. If Mr Peovezano would like to be educated of this service have him contact us at anytime.

Review: I LEASED A CAR FROM BARBERINOS SEPT. 2010. I NEEDED A CO SIGNER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE LOANER DON'T WANT ME ([redacted]) ON THE CAR BECAUSE MY CREDIT WAS BAD. THE LAST FEW MONTHS I WAS WONDERING WHY WHEN I GO TO HAVE MY USUAL SERVICE DONE THAT THE NAME ON THE SERVICE PAPERS SAY [redacted] INSTEAD OF [redacted]. I TRY TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS TO THE COMPANY AT HAND AND THEY HAVE NO INFORMATION ON ME OR [redacted] FOR THE CAR I,VE BEEN PAYING FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FINANCER OR THE SALESMAN WERE NO LONGER WORKING THERE (2011) AND NO ONE CAN HELP ME. THE FINANCE WOMEN TOLD ME SHE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT BECAUSE THEY NO LONGER WORK THERE. I HAVE 2 DIFFERENT PAPERWORKS, ONE SIGNED BY ME ([redacted]) AND A FEW WEEKS LATER [redacted] SIGNED THE SAME PAPERWORK WITH A DIFFERENT DATE AND MY DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER.I THINK THERE'S A FRAUD GOING ON AND WHEN I CALLED YESTERDAY FOR INFO ON THIS CAR BARBERINOS DOES NOT HAVE ME ([redacted]) OR THE CO SIGNER ([redacted]) NOWHERE ON FILE. FOR SOME ODD REASON HER DAUGHTER ([redacted]) IS THE ONLY NAME ON MY VEHICLE. I WANT TO KNOW HOW THAT WAS POSSIBLE WHEN ([redacted]) HAS NO LICENSE BUT THE CAR WAS REGISTERED AND INSURED UNDER [redacted] BUT NOW EVERYTHING HAS HER DAUGHTER NAME ON IT. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT i'VE BEEN PAYING FOR THE CAR FOR 3 YRS NOW, ALL PAYMENTS HAS MY ([redacted])NAME ON THEM. Review: My wife and I went to Barberino Nissan on memorial day 5/26/2014 after being told and promised that no customer is turned day and every one is guaranteed credit approval especially since my wife and I are both military. So after spending over 4 hours there we made a deal on a trade in for my [redacted] and we were given a vehicle [redacted]. We were told that our contract will be ready for us on the given tuesday or wednesday and we were instructed to come back to sign the contract. My wife and I get there and the worker that was suppose to meet us wasn't there and the finance manager took our folder and car keys with him on vacation and told us we had to wait until he came back in order for us to get back our car and or redo the deal. The dealership already ran my credit to 12 different banks and we were told they had to re run our credit again and had to re do a whole new deal. After going back and forth with one of the workers we asked to speak with the part owner and he didn't want to speak with us and explain what was going on. So he just gave us back our keys and told us better luck next time.Desired Settlement: Complete our deal as agreed upon

Review: I took the car to the dealer for a quick oil change and once the oil change was done the dealer told me that the batteries in my car is really bad and the CVT fluid is fully burnt and needs immediately replacement as that can damage the transmission system. As per the dealer the fluid color should be red wherein my fluid was greenish brown. Since as per dealer the CVT fluid was very critical I did not go for battery change instead did the CVT fluid which they took around 15-20 min.(as per dealer it labor charges was $82.00 since it will take around 1 hr. to do the job).Once the service was done I was given a multipoint inspection list which they did as a courtesy, as per the inspection my brake light was perfect whereas I knew its not working. I thought maybe there was something loose and the dealer fixed it, I verified and the light was still not working. I thought of verifying other things and once I opened the hood, no fluid was topped up as what was mentioned in the list. This got me worried, did Google and figured out how to check the CVT fluid. And I was surprised to find that the CVT fluid was not replaced. I called the dealer and as per him there could be a leak in my CVT system wherein the fluid can go bad. Till now I have already lost faith in the dealer so I called Nissan customer service and another Nissan dealer, I was confirmed that no was water can enter CVT system. Nissan customer recommends visiting the dealer again. On my next visit the dealer say the fluid should be green (which is correct), which different from his earlier claim and he totally denied that. He did a check on the fluid and is clamming the fluid is good and the color of fluid is green tan since it could have mixed with the old fluid. That mean my initial fluid was not bad and I was tricked to change the fluid. Also if they charged me

This customer is more than welcome to come in and we will flush his cvt transmission for free. It is always a good idea to actually call the company first and ask for a supervisor to rectify a situation before you go on the Internet and negatively slider a company to death which we have found out in this case. This is a simple fix. Let me know what time is best for you to bring it in.

Review: My husband and I received a voice mail message on 3/4/2015 from [redacted] stating that he was approved with no money down for any car after the previous day of speaking with [redacted] and giving him his info to check. Later that night my husband returned the call to [redacted] and he said again that he was approved with no money down for any car starting at $60/week. After setting up an appointment to meet with [redacted] to pick out a car he sent my husband a text message with their address, what to bring and stated again that he was approved. So the following day we went to Barberino expecting to get a car with a weekly payment but when we go there it was the opposite. We went to the front desk to have [redacted] paged like the text said so that he could take us to [redacted]. When we met [redacted] he told us to have a seat at a desk and disappeared for about 8 minutes. When he came back he had a blank dealer info sheet in his hand and proceeded to get our info to run a report to get us approved. [redacted] made up an excuse that he left our info in his briefcase in his girlfriend's car (I didn't buy it). He then left us for about 15 minutes and helped another couple which was odd because most dealerships only deal with one person at a time but anyways when he came back he told us that he could get us approved for a [redacted] for $1500 down and $384/month.....when I questioned him about [redacted] and how he already had my husband approved he got an attitude shrugged his shoulders and said "He doesn't know about that and that they are still working on more offers". About Twenty-five minutes went by and another guy came over stating he was a special financial manager and he said that they could only get us approved for a starter car ([redacted]) for $1500 down or get another co-signer to open up our options. At that point we were irritated and left with nothing but a bad taste in our mouths and a long drive back home in terrible weather. My time was basically wasted because the dealership promised us one thing and when we got there it was the complete opposite. I feel like they take advantage of people and just say whatever sounds good to the consumer to get them in the store. Also the customer service is horrible. I should have known it was going to be bad from the music that was playing to the fact that the men had on jeans and the women were wearing leggings. They take advantage of people by basically doing a bait and switch.Desired Settlement: I want what was promised to us in the text message, voicemail message and then the personal phone call. I want a full size car for $0 down for $60/week or I want the deal for $199 down.

Business

Response:

I did have the customer forward the text message and voicemail to Mr [redacted]. After reviewing the situation we have made changes to our pre approval process. The customer was pre approved subject to final bank verification, after the verification the terms were adjusted. We do apologize for the mis communication.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The messages clearly stated that the banks were talked to already and we were approved based on that information. What they did was tell me one thing to get me out there and then play games. (BAIT & SWITCH). I do not accept that. There has to be something else. That is totally unacceptable.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

The banks we spoken to but had yet to review paystubs and final information provided by customer. We had a pre approval subject to final verification. Not bait and switch customer did not qualify for the program. We can only work with a limited information a customer provides over the phone until they come into our store. To my knowledge only verbal information was collected prior to the customer bringing in paystubs as well as other required documents.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: that's not what was said in text or voicemail. It was stated that the banks have approved my husband not pre-approved. We gave you all of the information over the phone and later we received the approval call. If we were just "pre-approved" we wouldn't have an issue but the fact that we were told three times that the banks approved us that is what should have happened. So I'm still calling it a bait and switch. You called us stating that we were approved and then when we get there its something different. That is unacceptable.

Sincerely,

Review: I paid a deposit on a car, and decided that I no longer wanted the car. Review: I bought a 2011 [redacted] from Barberino [redacted] and from the minute the I signed the paperwork it has been a nightmare issue. My main complaint has to do with the lack of assistance and service that was provided with a major error on their part. When I got the registration for the car I didn't notice 3 major issues. 1. wrong odometer reading, they put more mileage on the car then it actually had. They also failed to provide me with the odometer reading form I signed. 2. the color of the vehicle was incorrect. They put the car as white when it is really tan. This caused an issue when my girlfriend was pulled over for an illegal turn issue and the cop asked if the car was ever white and she responded no. He then proceeded to give us a $129.00 ticket because of that. 3. The address on the registration was incorrect they put the wrong town down. I have text message correspondence from the salesman claiming to have fixed all this but would never provide proof in email. This process started 08/04 and yesterday 09/18 it was all finally settled. I had to take a day off from work to get the registration fixed and a new copy with the correct information because the dealership failed to do their job. With this long lapse in resolution I also was not able to refinance the vehicle as the odometer reading is wrong and I found out the car is not worth value in which they showed me in a book.Desired Settlement: I am looking for a refund of my $1200 deposit along with a missed day of wages for my inconvenience at a rate of [redacted] an hour for 8 hours equaling [redacted]. I am also looking for the payment of the ticket at $129.00.
