Section 15 of lease states the marina owes one month free slip fees if they require us to move. We moved due to construction & didn't credit the month
Section 15 of lease states that if the marina requires us to move the boat they will credit one month of the slip fees. We inquired about this with the new management Judy and she refused stating they were not honoring there leases. I wrote a letter to the owner Buddy *** and he never responded so I tried to post review on google to see if he would then. He responded but never address the money they owe us and everyone at the marina.

Desired Outcome

Refund of on month of the slip fee

Bay Point Marina Response • Jun 04, 2019

Good Afternoon! Thank you for taking my call earlier today. As promised I am providing this follow up via your complaint URL as requested.

In response to Ms. filed complaint. The lease states that a month of free rent would be provided should we change a renters Designated boat slip. We DID NOT change her designated boat slip. We purchased the marina several months back and began working on addressing the significant maintenance issues at the marina. We are investing *** million *** into this effort. Part of that investment is repairing and replacing defective decking, plumbing, electric lines, pedestals, floats, and more. We provided each renter with a comparable temporary slip while repairs to their designated slips were being made. These repairs lasted roughly 30-45 days per pier. Once completed each renter was notified that they could move their boats back to their designated slips. We have received an enormous amount of positive feedback from our renters whom are extremely excited with the improvements we are and have made. Should you have any questions at all please know that we are hear to provide further assistance.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The lease does not clarify that the relocation has to be permanent or not. They required us to move out by October 31 and we were suppose to be back in our original slip in 30-45 days but when we left in March we were still in the temporary slip. If the owner can do math I would say that is way BEYOND 30-45 days. The slip was suppose to be comparable to our old slip and it was not. The slip had a missing floating device on the dock which was a liability hazard along with boards that were not nailed down. We had to nail the boards down. I asked Judy to relocate us as it was not safe and she refused. And far as positive feedback I am sure that is because Judy refused to give me the owners name so I could lodge a formal complaint against her. I'm sure I am not the only one. I know of at least three people who left the marina because she is impossible to deal with. Another couple that was at the marina prior to new management came back to VA and happen to be docked next to us and they didn't go back to Baypoint because they heard how difficult Judy is. I sent a four page letter to the owner in March and received zero response from him. I have attached letter. He will continue to loose boaters having such a poorly ran marina and a dockmaster who has no idea of what she is doing.
