B&B Glass and Mirror Reviews (22)

Review: Hi. I'm hoping you can help me with this. The business name is B and B Glass and Mirror in [redacted], MA. Their web site is: http://www.bandbglassshower.com/

On 1/13/2015 I gave them a deposit of $1000 for a shower enclosure. The order was taken at my home in [redacted]< Ma. The work was supposed to be performed in two to three weeks. Now I am unable to contact them. Calling them just gets a voice mail and they are not returning calls. emails either bounce or are not responded to. I am not sure if they are even still in business. I would like to either have the work performed or get my deposit back.

Please help Any information would be appreciated.

ThanksDesired Settlement: I would like to either have the work performed or get my deposit of $1000 back.

Review: March 12, 2013 - Contact B and B to follow up on a quote and requested home visit for accurate measurements

March 15, 2013 – Owner, [redacted] of B and B Glass completed the measurements. Informed by owner, [redacted] that shower wall could not be fabricated in one piece of glass

March 15, 2015 – After discussing the fabrication with my partner we did not want two pieces of glass it the shower and subsequently emailed (5:57 PM) [redacted] asking

1. Is it possible to have the large shower wall in one piece of glass vs the two proposed. We are not excited about the two pieces.

2. Would eliminating the sandblasting on the panel on the shower glass shorten the time to installation?

Further, I stated to “Please confirm both prior to begin the work.”

March 18, 2013 (11:35 AM) – [redacted] replied, “we do have to use two pieces of glass on the large side of the shower.. also, it will be two week turn around for installing the shower with ALL clear glass .. if we sandblast that panel , it will likely be 4 weeks.. I'll wait to hear from you.”

March 18, 2013 (2:04 PM) – I replied, “Would changing to 3/8 thick shower allow for one piece installation on the large side? Is the issue the glass does not come in that large of a size?”

March 18, 2013 (3:46 PM) – [redacted] replied, “I checked with the fabricator again.. it is the overall size and weight of the glass going into the tempering oven.. this piece of glass is well over the maximun square footage for their ovens”.

March 19, 2013 (2:27 PM) – [redacted] followed up “just waiting on an o.k. from you to get the glass ordered.. also, let me know about the sandblasted piece.”

March 19, 2013 (2:29 PM) – I replied, “Thanks for checking in… we are challenged by the two pieces of glass for the large glass shower wall and doing some leg work on options… Sorry for the delay and please continue to hold.”

March 22, 2013 – I spoke with [redacted] and told him that given he could not source the glass in once piece, we located a glass company that can provide the shower wall in piece and wanted to cancel the order. [redacted] said he tried and called several suppliers and he could not source the material available. Later in the day, [redacted] called and said he found a fabricator that could provide one piece of glass (only after we told him that we sourced it on our own did he say he could provide the glass in one-piece.)

March 25 forward – Several conversations took place with [redacted] regarding cancelling the enitre job as we had stated not to begin the work in two emails. He claims that he had ordered the other products for the other portion of the job even though my emails to his office manager stated to not start the job. After several conversations, we mutually agreed that we would take delivery of the other products that were ordered and he would refund the 50% deposit on the shower portion as no material for that work had been order as he claims he was waiting for an "ok" from us. The amount that we agreed would be refunded was $2000.00

Since late March, I have made several attempts to reach [redacted] for a return of the deposit he verbally agreed to return.

After several emails to his office manager [redacted] - without response, I attempted to reach [redacted].

The first time I spoke with [redacted], he stated they just moved to a new location so it was a bit confusing and he would have his brother mail the check.

After waiting a couple weeks, I spoke to [redacted] on Monday, May 19. He stated the check would be in my hands by the end of the week.

At the end of the week, I called B and B glass to inquire about the refund after the US mail was delivered at my home. I was told that he was not available and it was not the end of the day yet.

To date I have not had any calls returned or receive any check refund.

Lastly, his installation team installed a mirror on the wall of our bathroom, that continues to slide down – apparently his crew did not install the mirror correctly.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund check in the amount of $2000.00 and the mirror that was incorrectly installed to be reinstalled.

Response:

as agreed.. we are sending out a refund check in the amount of $2,000.00. In response to customers complaint, he did not make it clear that we were to hold up his whole order, we assumed just the shower. We also told him we could install the shower exactly as he wanted ( after finding a new glass manufacturer to make his glass in one piece ) before he hired another glass company. As for the mirror, this is the first time he has told us about it, but we will absolutely repair any issues he has with any glass work we have done for him.

East Falmouth, MA 02536Phone:(800) 387-9008I have requested that a refund be provided since late March 2012. On several occassion, I was told by [redacted] that he would have a check sent, yet a check has not been recieved. Mr [redacted], admits, and states in his response to the Revdex.com that he will be sending the money, but no funds have arrived. To respond to the businesses claim they could provide the glass needed - Yes, B and B stated that could provide the glass in a one piece unitONLY after the owner, [redacted], was told that I had found another glass company that could and would be templating the area shower later that day. Miraculously, [redacted] at B and B was able to find a supplier within one hour of my informing him we had found a person who could provide glass in one piece!

Response:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

As of this date, I have not received a check in the amount of $2000 as twice previously agreed upon from B and B Glass. The first time B & B agreed was on June 20, 2013, the second on Aug 7, 2013.
