I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I received the check and I am happy with the results.  Thank you for who ever helped my case along.  I am glad it is resolved and can put it behind me.  I'm not sure if the result is due to the Revdex.com or if the patient advocate helped to bring this frustration to a close.  I do hope in the future that the staff at Beacon will acknowledge mistakes and choose to rectify them in a timely manner so as to not give their organization a negative review.

The customer in the complaint had surgery with us on 3/9/2016.  Our company policy for surgery is to collect any out-of-pocket cost the patient will be responsible for after the insurance claim is processed.  At time of surgery, she had a $2,000 deductible which we collected from her....

The patients insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, continued to hold the processing of her claim by requesting medical records for the surgery. The claim was fully processed in August.  Due to the delay in processing the claim, the patients deductible had already been met.  On Tuesday, October 25th, Beacon mailed a refund check of $1,940 (the credit amount on her account) which the customer should receive shortly. We apologize for any delay in our refund process.

To Whom it May Concern,Prior to any major medical service, including an MRI, we give the patient financial estimates of their out of pocket costs. We use a third party software that links to the insurance payers websites that tells us what the possible deductible, copay, coinsurance may be. At...

the time that this report was ran, [redacted] (his insurance) told us that his deductible was met. We relayed this information to the patient. As stated on the financial agreement signed by the patient, it is his responsibility to check eligibility and benefit levels with his insurance company. The numbers we provide are only an estimate based on the information the patient's insurance gives us and can change at anytime. We have no control over what his insurance decides to pay or not pay. We must follow what they tell us, which in this case is a deductible amount of 309.42. There was no intent to deceive the patient in any way. Unfortunately, medical benefits can change on a daily basis depending on what the insurance company does. It is always the patient's responsibility to contact their insurance company and confirm our estimates.
