Beazer Homes Reviews (2)

We went under contract for our home in [redacted] in [redacted], Texas in January. We had our design center meeting in February. At the design center, I asked if I could get a wood hood for over the cooktop. I didn't like any of the options presented to me at the time so I opted out.
A few weeks later, Beazer posted a lovely wood hood on their Facebook page so I asked if I could get that one. I was told yes, and I went in and paid for the change and upgraded my carpets at the same time.
When our cabinets went in, I got bumped up center cabinets and no wood hood. I complained. They then later put in a wood hood, but it was flush with the cabinets and not bumped up like the one I had shown them in the beginning. Meanwhile, they were also putting in other things incorrectly in my home, such as the kitchen sink (they put in stainless and I ordered a granite sink).
On the day of closing, they were supposed to have the correct hood - no, it was wrong yet again. I also had to close with a lot of other pending issues that were not corrected during any of my walkthroughs - so much paint in places it shouldn't have been. My whole downstairs is wood tile and the grout which should have been grey was white due to paint getting in all the grout lines! My kitchen cabinets were left in an absolutely horrendous state and had to be re-skinned in tons of areas - but they expected me to sign off on it as it was! Crazy.
I had (and still have) broken windows. I have had rain pouring down in a sheet in front of my front door, so I couldn't walk onto my porch. I have had issues with the trim work being damaged and when painters came to "fix" the issue, they just removed the tape and did exactly NOTHING. I had to get my French doors replaced due to cracked glass and they did not spray them, they handpainted them and they look TERRIBLE, as does my master bathroom door that had to be rehung because it swung the wrong direction. They repainted it and it looks atrocious. And they got paint all over my floors again! The new French door is cracked on the bottom which I asked about and have heard nothing back. They finally brought in the right hood but the painters got paint all over my cabinets and the hood after I asked him at least five times to be careful!!!
The plugs and switches were stab-locked in and not wrapped as they should be, this is not good work - we had the electricians come out and redo them. Anyone else with a Beazer home who is not an electrician would not know this! And later they WILL have electrical problems.
There are holes in my concrete on my porch and when they tried to patch them, they made them look worse!
There was a drainage issue between the houses I had to bring up at least five times to get fixed and it's still not perfect.
The kitchen cabinets, though I upgraded, are cheap and already showing wear. And I was supposed to get a patch kit which I DID NOT receive! There was so much paint on my spindles and even after the painters coming back to clean, they did not get it all. They did a "half-[redacted]" job on my house. They needed to bring in a 16 foot ladder to fix a spot on my ceiling which I reminded them of at least three times and it never happened. He just pulled the tape off and kept walking! Ridiculous.
The tile was the worst...the grout looked so terrible. Three months after closing, when someone finally came to clean it, I asked them not to get anything on my furniture and then I walked out and saw the guy getting the cleaning solution all over the bottom of my brand new $2,000+ couch I waited over two months to have built! I asked for this to be done BEFORE CLOSING! Twice! I needed to get my floors sealed and to do so I had to move furniture around again for that. There was a gap at the top of the tile in the showers allowing moisture to get inside over the first 2.5 months we lived here! Now there is paint damage all around my showers.
Everytime someone has worked in my kitchen, they have left dust and debris all in my cooktop - I have had to thoroughly clean it every time after every trade has been here to work on that section of my kitchen. There was drywall texture sprayed EVERYWHERE when they repaired that!
The cabinets in other areas of the house also were covered in paint splatter and Timberlake did come and fix them as best as they could, but it was horrendous and impossible to completely remove. There is a line of paint going up my master medicine cabinet that cannot be fixed - it just needs to be removed and replaced.
The pedestal sink has metallic scratches which I pointed out initially. Beazer will not fix anything they deem cosmetic after closing! Other builders will fix cosmetic issues happily, but not Beazer!
The door leading out to the garage is crooked, even after they tried to repair it. It's not fixed and now the whole area needs to be repaired and repainted.
It is issue after issue and then the people coming in to fix things are completely incompetent and destructive.

I have nothing but problems with this builder. Hear me and hear me well - DO NOT BUY A BEAZER HOME! YOU WILL REGRET IT! Their work is horrible. 4 years in this home and I've had 2 roof leaks, over flowing toilets causing major damage, continuing issues with siding falling off the side of the home. The shower installed has a cracked floor. Vanities separating from the wall. Gas furnace improperly sealed causing foul gas smell through the home. Bath tub separating from wall. Leaking pipes underneath kitchen sink. Central Air unit issues (both heat and AC). Wiring issues, plumbing issues, circuit breaker issues! I could go on and on, but I think you get my point. I bought this home new construction 4 years ago, and most of these problems occurred just outside the one year warranty. Quite a convenience for Beazer wouldn't you say. We were lied to by the sales rep and the builders. You may think, this guy is just unlucky, but everyone I've spoken with that has a Beazer home has a horror story to tell, most worse than mine. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
