On May 24, 2016 at 1:20pm a reply was sent to complainant. The reply email has been attached.
In response to complainant's request for a full refund for all services, a full refund adjustment was issued for services not rendered and a partial adjustment for treatment services...

which were rendered. The total refund amount credited back to the clients was $434.25 in light of the circumstances surrounding the complainant's visit.
The professional doctor fees -- the examination fee, 1 radiograph and the radiologist report from Pet Rays were items that were charged for -- as these diagnostic services were completed prior to the passing of the patient.
These charges amounted to $293.30 for services rendered.

Diagnostic bloodwork and Ultrasound report did not indicate pyometra present.
Diagnostic bloodwork was performed 3/13, 3/16 and 3/17 and results did not conclude that pyometra was present in Bella. Radiographs unremarkable.

[redacted] did not provide our office with any diagnostic reports or statements from any other medical provider that the bloodwork performed here was incorrect. I am certain that the bloodwork she had performed elsewhere did provide different results; however the data from the bloodwork performed in our hospital did not indicate a pyometra condition present.
[redacted]' complaint of a misdiagnosis comes 32 days after her initial visit to our office.
This is also 21 days after [redacted] brought in Bella for the ultrasound; which concluded with no abnormal findings which would be indicative of a pyometra.
On 3/13/2016 [redacted] made medical recommendations in [redacted] account for "Bella" to have her spayed if the problems did not resolve. (Pg. 8 - Medical Notes)
The diagnostic bloodwork performed elsewhere would provide comparative results as to why VREC diagnosed a pyometra condition when we didn't.
Owner has previously declined surgery for possible pyometra 12/16/2011 and 11/4/2012.

This matter is currently being handled by legal counsel from both parties.

I have always had good experiences at Becker animal hospital. So good, in fact that I would make the 35 mile drive from converse to their hospital to get my chihuahuas treated...I always left wonderful reviews, Im sorry, I take back everything I said about your staff and hospital. My chi had a puppy 5 days ago. The puppy began to fade at around 6 this afternoon. I called your hospital and asked if they took temporary checks as my husband had the debit card. I was told yes. I reiterated that this was a temp check, she put me on hold came back on and was told that it was fine and to bring the dam and the puppy in. When I arrived I was told that you would NOT take a temp check. I begged your staff to please treat the pup for ONE HOUR while I ran to get some cash from someone who was willing to lend it to me, being that my husband was at work and had the debit card,I was refused. I called my husband who said he could meet me and give me the debit card, again I plead for them to treat the pup while I ran to get the card..I even offered to leave my check book and my drivers license...and I was refused again, even though I am a former client and it was the staff misinformation that caused the payment problem. ONE HOUR....and I was turned away. I was told the puppy was stable enough for me to go get the funds and return....the puppy died a horrid death in my hands on the way home. Misinformation from the staff is the direct cause of the death of this puppy. If I had been told they did not accept temp checks I would have met my husband and gotten the debit card on the way to the vet...but instead I was misinformed TWICE and made a 35 min drive across town to Becker Animal hospital. That was precious time for this pup. I will say that Ozzy, the vet tech, plead my case harder than I did. He even asked if he could give me a tube of nutrical to keep the pup stable until I ran across town for the debit card and back to the Animal hospital....they told him no. Tonight all I experienced was misinformation, lack of compassion and a total disregard for the life of a new puppy...and it was all due to the staff not knowing the check policy in the hospital that they work in. Unprofessional. You have caused my family more grief that you will ever comprehend.. Shame on you Becker Animal hospital..not only did you lose the 440.00 that you would have gotten had you treated the animal. you lost my trust and respect. Never again will I bring another animal to you as you lack any sort of compassion or responsibility for the lack of knowledge of your staff. I am stunned. Just stunned. Now, excuse me...I have a new puppy to bury. Thanks for the heartache.

I am rejecting this response because:
Your business mis-handed the remains of our pet; Led my wife to believe you processed them to then turn around and say you didn't.
We don't have children.. our pets are our love ones and your company has made the process of laying our pet to rest more difficult than it should have ever been.
It took from 4/27 to 8/17 for your company to even come forward and address this issue with us.  Our family has been hurting ever since. 
We tried pursuing resolution for months with complete disregard to our feelings. Including upwards to 3 visits to speak with managers.
To be told your operational manager is on vacation and I'll just have to wait til then to even talk to anyone about my issue or get a refund.
Adjusting portions of our bill is not enough to make up for the pain you have caused our family.  A full refund is in order.

I am rejecting this response because: Never was surgery offered as an option this time or any other time. Have no idea what they are talking about. Was never given a diagnosis so how could surgery have been discussed? Not fighting this on here I will file a law suit against Becker as well as the treating vets.

I took my dog in to get put down and have his remains cremated. After several weeks I called Becker animal hospital and was told his remains were ready to be picked up. I show up on a weekday a little before 5pm. After waiting 30 minutes I was told that they could not locate the remains and that the person who does the cremation was gone and they could not reach him until he returned to work the next day. I asked to speak to a manager or someone else in charge. I was told there was no one in charge at the time and would not be back until the next morning. This is a 24/7 hospital and was shocked that no one could help us at 5pm. I could not recommend this facility to anyone. They are over priced and do not seem to care about the animals only about their profit.

Ms. [redacted] presented Parker in 2/6/2015 for an examination to address decreased appetite (3 days) and vomiting. During the examination diagnostics recommendations were made to address the presented medical issues. Performance of blood work diagnostics revealed...

elevated white blood count, elevated kidney values - systemic infection, dehydtation and pre-renal disease. In light of the results, treatment options and costs were discussed with owner at which point owner elected to pursue the recommended treatment program of iv fluids, iv antibiotics and anti-nausea medication. Client was contacted late in the evening of 2/6/2015 to inform client of increased respiratory effort; symptoms from a previously diagnosed heart condition which was temporarily managed by Ms. [redacted]. Owner was informed of respiratory distress at which point doctor recommended oxygen therapy and chest radiographs; which owner approved. Patient was later removed from oxygen therapy as the increased respiratory effort had subsided. Ms. [redacted]'s statements that "we knew he was not going to make it" are without merit. Per State Board regulations veterinarians can not in good faith guarantee the outcome of prescribed treatments and/or therapies.  Ms. [redacted]'s statement that she arrived "with the hopes they would suggest to euthanize and end his suffering" was never verbalized to the doctor. At the time of admittance the client stated the patient had occasional bouts of coughing when excited but was otherwise breathing normally - presenting problem was the decreased appetite and vomiting which upon initial presentation did not appear to be life threatening - at which point treatment recommendations were made by Dr. [redacted] which client elected to pursue. All efforts to diagnose and treat were within industry standards. In light of our efforts and review of the case a refund will not be issued for services rendered.

I would like to express my concerns, unsatisfaction and experience unprofessionalism I recieved from Beckers Animal Hospital & Pet Resort. My pets, Paco and Diamond were left there in the veterian section for exams, testing and vaccines while in the care of Dr. Z[redacted]. We were forced to leave them both there later in the day at the resort since my wife went into labor and we had a baby that night. Two days later as I arrived to pick them up 4/15/2016 at approx 10pm ( while it was not busy in the lobby at all). I was asked to wait for a short period by a young lady because the Vet had to talk to me about the results of the exams. So I cooperated and I began to wait. I waited and waited. 2hrs later, I decided to speak to a gentleman working at the front desk to check a reason for delay in which he did not have an answer for me on why I waited already 2hrs. He stated he was the manager. I explained my situation. And I still continued to wait. No empathy was shown as he continued to tend to walk-in's. I witness people come in and leave after a Vet visit while I waited and including another gentleman who was doing exact the samething I was doing by picking up his dog and waiting to speak to vet which was completed very prompty for him. After waiting over the 3hr mark. I once again approached the same manager and asked for status. I informed him that this was uncalled for and I needed to leave to tend to my wife who recently gave birth. He then said " Wow, you're still here?" which was a disregarded comment since I was sitting literally in front of the desk waiting. He then got on the intercom. My dogs were then brought out and I took them to the car. No feedback of my dogs stay at the resort was given such as if they ate, played, were they ok during the stay or did they use the restroom correctly which was my major concern. Then I returned to wait to speak to the vet. Once again, I waited to be escorted to the back to speak to a vet for another 40m who did not know my dogs but was going on whatever notes were on the computer. The medications which the dogs were there for priorly were not given and I was informed that all exams were negative. I feel this was very unprofessional and unsatisfying. Basically my dogs were sick for the last 2 days. All this could have been done in 30-45m. I paid well over $600 on services at Becker's for both of my for unneccessary meds. No wonder they charge immediately. My dogs did not need most of the meds assigned. This visit was over priced and I feel there was no need to accumalate all these charges expecially when all exams of my primary concerns (Diarrhea) were negative. I clearly asked Dr. Z[redacted] not to prescribe any medications if exams were negative because it would be pointless. There was no understandings, cooperations, or feedback about my pets. It appears that there is false diagnoses in attempt to charge large dollars. Everything here is over priced. As I choose to have dogs stay in suites due to my wifes unexpected labor emergency and I wanting to keep an eye on them via cameras on their website. But throughout their stay I had no access to the cameras. The webcams did not work. I was signed to WiFi and internet access most of the time and using my iphone and/or a computer was still unsuccessful. I might as well have requested a regular kennel so pricing could have been more reasonable.
All in all, the treatment I recieved was very unfair and unprofessional. The prices are horribly high, staff does not understand customer satisfaction, lack of professionalism, and outdated technology. The experience has made me not want to return and seek another vetearian. I am requesting refund via email to manager but a reply was given and I was asked to return medications which makes no sense since I this is why I went there for service.

The reason why I want to contact . Is my concern about a bill that was 140.35. Mr John q[redacted] and night mng. Jennifer advise me that I had a bonded my pet wich I would of never done I don't know we're they got that idea I done it before and I don't do it on purpose I have a very busy schedule and on call all the time I work and this time was really difficult to pick up my pet on time. I want this matter resolved by talking to your mng. and better communication for your customers. My dog really smelled like urine and like for them to charge me that much I expect for my dog to be better taking care of and you could check your files that my dog had stay long before for the same reason and the people that had help me they understood they were profesional about it. I'm hoping to hear back from who ever can resolve this matter. Because it was to much money for my pet blade to smell like urine. Sincerely Cesar o. V[redacted]
