Beebe's Pest Control Reviews (44)

Review: Beebe's came on out my home the week of May 20th to do a termite inspection. The termite inspection was completed, however, it was rejected by the mortgage company (I am refinancing) do to the fact the company listed 1) I was selling the house 2) The report did not state whether the previous site of termites was active. I contact Beebe's, they said they would re-do the inspection because it was inaccurate and they should have listed whether or not the site was active. I was told by [redacted] (office manager) it would be no charge. The tech showed up on the 27th and was immediately rude to my son, so he called me and spoke to the tech explained was [redacted] had told and he began to argue with me. The tech hung-up went outside came back did a 1-minute walk around the house and then asked my teenage son for payment. My son presented him with the previous invoice and said, according to my mom there is no charge because it is a re-do. The tech demanded payment from my son, which he paid and left. My son called me upset and said they tech intimated him into providing payment.

I called Beebe's, they said the manager was out to lunch (10:00 a.m.) I explained what happened and wrote a formal compliant. The tech later called and apologized to my son and said he shredded the check. I specifically asked that my check be returned to me. I did not receive an apology as my compliant was about how rude he was to both me and my son. I have not received the revised report either. I did receive an email in response to my email, simply stating the tech called my son and apologized. My primary compliant is they have a tech intimidating people into payment (my son is only 18), I don't understand why the tech did not call the office back and ask about whether payment was required versus bullying my son. I was also told the owner would be made aware of the incident but no one has called me nor have I received my revised report. I want evidence (or formal statement) from the company that my son's checked was destroyed and in addition, I want my original payment of $65 returned.Desired Settlement: I would like a formal letter of apology and written statement my son's check was destroyed (2nd check) and refund of my original $65 dollars.

Review: To Whom it May Concern,

On 3/31/15 at about 1PM I called Beebe Pest Control to find out how much it would cost to have a bee problem at my home taken care of. I explained to the female representative who answered the phone that we had just found a bee hive the prior evening, and it is a large one. She asked if Beebe had been to my home before, I said they had, gave her our address and she found our file. I told her the bees are located under our second story eave, and that my husband had already sprayed a bee insecticide he purchased at Home Depot but there is still a large comb with bees. I asked how much it would cost to have it taken care of. The representative asked whether there was still a cluster of bees or if there were just a few bees remaining with some still flying around. I said that there was a cluster before my husband sprayed the bee insecticide, but there is no longer a cluster. I also reiterated that there are still some bees on the comb, which is very large. The representative then gave me a quote of $175 and stated that they could have someone out to my home within a couple of hours. I agreed.

At 3:20PM Beebe employee Harrison Manley came to my door. He had driven up in a Beebe logo-ed truck. I took him to the location of the bee problem so he could see it. He stated that the comb had been there for a while and estimated it had been there for roughly a month. He said that he would have to charge me $75 for honey removal. He said that if he did not remove all traces of the comb and honey that the bees would probably return. He said that if even a scent of honey remained they could return. I said, “$75 extra?” He confirmed it would be $75 extra. I calculated out loud that $75 on top of the $175 I was quoted is $250 and that is too much. I explained that my husband didn’t want me to call Beebe in the first place (he wanted to do it himself) but reluctantly agreed to the $175. $250 would not fly with him. The tech stated twice that I could make payments, to which I replied that I have the money to pay for the job I just don’t want to pay that much. The tech said he would make a call to see what he could do and I agreed, thanking him. He returned stating that the best they could do is an extra $50 for honey removal, instead of an extra $75. Without asking for my input the tech stated he was going to get his ladder and get started, and he did so. After calling my husband to confirm my suspicion that he would want Beebe to leave, I told the tech to leave. The tech stated he would just get rid of the bees and not do the honey removal. I told him that I wanted no work done because my husband could get rid of the bees for a fraction of the price. The tech stated that if Beebe did it we would have a 30 day guarantee that if bees returned within the 30 days Beebe would come retreat the area. At this point I was perturbed (I will explain the reason later in this letter), asked him two times whether Beebe would come out to retreat if the bees came back within 30 days and he confirmed both times. I told him to go ahead and get rid of the bees.

I looked at the time. It was 3:35PM.

Somewhere between 3:45 and 3:50PM the tech came to my door and said he’s done. I said I was very surprised that he could do it so quickly, and that’s not worth $175. I got the credit card and gave it to him. I told him I was not happy with the change in price and the $175 cost of the 10-15 minute service. I asked when my husband can take the comb down. He stated this weekend. I signed the invoice and wrote next to my signature on the invoice that I was very dissatisfied with the grossly understated quote for the work. He left.

I soon called my husband to discuss the situation. According to my cell phone records that call was made at 3:55PM.

I attempted to resolve my complaint directly with Beebe. According to my cell phone records, at 3:58PM, right after the phone call with my husband, I called Beebe at 602.978.4412. The same rep who I originally spoke with earlier in the day, and who gave me the $175 quote answered the phone. I told her that the tech just left, that I was not satisfied with how things went and I would like to speak with someone to whom I could give the feedback. Our call was terminated.

I immediately redialed Beebe’s number, this time getting a different rep. I reiterated my request and she transferred me to whom I presume to be the Office Manager. I described all that this letter says above, she said that I should have been told that honey removal would be extra, and I stated again that I had clearly described to the rep that we had a large comb. I said (and here is the reason I said I was perturbed above) I would not have had Beebe come to my house if I had known it would have cost $250 to do the job right, I thought I was getting the job done right for $175, and as it is now I have a halfway done job and my husband has yet another weekend project in knocking down the comb. She apologized, said she was going to talk to someone about it and would give me a call “right back”. I never heard from her or anyone at Beebe.

After this phone call I cautiously ventured out to the problem bee area for the first time – cautiously because there were still many angry bees buzzing around. I probably shouldn’t have been out there yet. The area was a mess – not only was the comb still there as I knew it would, but there were many bees still on it, bees flying around and worst of all, a huge sea of sick and dead bees on the ground just waiting for someone to step on later. The area I speak of is our front driveway, so the bees on the ground are a liability. Please see pictures of the area and comb itself at: [redacted]

I contracted Beebe to properly take care of the bee problem that I had described to them for $175. That did not happen. Beebe says they underquoted my job by 43% (later reduced to a 29% underquote). The $175 quote was either a big mistake, or deliberate in order to get me to agree to have them come out, only to have the tech slip the add-on charge in at the jobsite. Regardless, the fact remains that Beebe has not delivered all of the services I contracted them to do for $175 when I gave them the ok to send someone out at the time of my original call. I understand that unexpected things can be found at the jobsite that cost extra, but the tech found nothing at our jobsite that I hadn’t already discussed with the rep over the phone when Beebe gave me the $175 quote. I contracted Beebe to do the job right, which the tech stated must include removal of the comb and honey. Honey removal aside, the tech spent only 10-15 minutes getting rid of the bees, which I know from experience takes longer when done right. Further, $175 for a 10-15 minute job comes to at least $700 an hour, which would be price gouging if Beebe truly intended for the job to be done that quickly. The tech also left a huge dangerous mess of sick and dying bees at the front of our house to be stepped on. I had to clean up all the bees on the ground myself early this morning before the neighborhood children walked past my house to the nearby school bus stop, during which there were still many bees that weren't dead that would try to fly at me and crawl on me.

As I write this complaint I am on the other side of the house from the bee problem and can see many bees flying outside my window. I suspect we still have a significant bee problem and worry for my husband's safety when he attempts to take down the comb this weekend as the tech advised.Desired Settlement: I had Beebe to my home before for a smaller bee problem, and they spent about an hour to ensure a thorough job and cleanup, and left me extremely impressed with their business. I believe that job cost $115. Even the best run, most reputable businesses can have service delivery issues though, and I think that the folks at Beebe will agree it would be fair to either 1) return to my home to complete the job I contracted by removing the comb and honey (I already had to gingerly clean up all the bees on the ground myself before the neighborhood children walked past my house to the nearby school bus stop), or 2) refund my money because Beebe did not complete the job I contracted them to do.

Review: I filed a complaint awhile ago against them I asked for a refund. They commited to giving me back my money but never sent it to me. That was 90 days ago. I am wanting my refund as they promised. Still waiting !!!!!!!! How long does it take to refund my money???????Desired Settlement: get the money they agreed to pay!!! see previous complaint [redacted]

Well we used Beebes for a while to help rid of roaches. Our neighbors moved out and all of a sudden we started seeing German roaches crawling in our house. So we called beebes and they came several times and sprayed and they never seemed to get rid of them. Then they said we have to fog our home which I didn't agree with since the infestation was very minimal we see a roach every now and then not very bad .So we stopped using them and we called [redacted] and told them what the beebes pest control had said and they said there was no reason to fog all we had to do was take everything out of our cupboards and let them spray and they finally disappeared.. And come to find out a past employee of theirs I met mentioned that they water down the chemicals to save money that the owner was greedy. After about a year of switching pest control companies I received a letter stating we owed them for their last visit which we paid them every visit and have receipts for everyone of them not only did they want to charge me for the service we already paid for but they added interest charges to it .. Please avoid yourself the heart ache and don't do business with them!
