I was on vacation in New York, Manhattan this week and was scammed "big-time"

I was looking for a GoPro HeroSilver, and found one in this store and had a promise to buy the camera for $When I left my credit card to the man in the store he charged me $979,WITHOUT TELLING me before the amountWhen I asked what the he did and why he did it he just fooled around and told me that I had a discount of a memory card ($599,99) and so onI had to pay $only for the case of the camera!!!?? I asked him to refound the deal before I left the store but he refused and was very rude to me and just ignored what I said.(His name was ***, he said)
He also told me that I should have the tax back at the airport, if I signed the receipt, which I didnt get after discussion with the customs

Review: I would like to file a complaint against BESTBUY wireless - A Store on [redacted]. I was interested to buy one iPhone 6 and one BOSE Bluetooth headphones at 12/**. He said happy new year and can give us a big discount. the price totally is 650US$ for these two items. I think it is a good price, so I asked if I buy one more 6 plus, what would the price totally be. He said totally 950 US$. I confirm with him about the price on the calculator, he said yes. then he asked me to give my creidt card to him. I supposed him will charge the price we discussed just now, but in a few minutes he produced a receipt for $1752.84/- $1199.99 + programing 129.99 + defender package 99.99+ charging case 179.99+ sales Tax 142.88. without tell me anything about the addtion fees and didn't show me the total price. I said I wouldn't buy at this price and want him to cancel it. he said another staff has already opened one phone, and I had to pay for it. He said "this receipt is for the 6 plus, the opened one is 6, He can cancel this receipt and generate another one. but I need to sign on the old one then He can do return us the difference." when I give my credit card to him, crazy things happened, he charged another 1643.93US$, I said we don't want to buy at such high price. please cancel it. He said he can't cancel it and they will close the store in few minutes. I feel something is wrong with this store, I think maybe they always do like this. It is awful to consumers. I hope they can return all the addition fees totally $969.51 which I did not know at all.

Review: I bought a new, unlocked iPhone 5 from BestBuy Wireless on Sept. *, 2014, for $545 (plus tax). I paid an additional $99.99 for "outter guard defender package" on that same receipt (total cost with tax was $707.60). Then, they charged me, using a separate receipt, an additional $300 for an all-inclusive warranty against accidental damage. In all, I paid over $1,000 for the new phone and all the insurance coverage.

I damaged my phone recently and took it to be repaired. The company looked to find the warranty I told them I had on the phone, but they could find no such warranty. They also pointed out to me that the serial number on the telephone and the box didn't match, suggesting that the phone I bought was not new, but used/refurbished. Now I'm facing a charge of $300 to have my telephone repaired, but that should be covered by the warranty I paid for.

So there are two issues.

1. They sold me what was supposed to be a new phone, but turns out to probably be used. (IMEI numbers don't match; also, the box says 32GB, but receipt says 16GB.)

2. They took $400 from me for a warranty that does not seem to exist.I have tried to reach them by phone (###-###-####) to no avail. Nobody ever answers. They clearly are operating a shady business. I also think they took advantage of me because I'm a foreigner and not a native speaker of English.

Review: Ordered a television from this company which arrived broken (they sent it in the tv box only, so that isn't very surprising). I contacted Bestbuy the next day and was promised that [redacted] would contact me to get more info and arrange pick-up. This didn't happen, so I had to contact them again. [redacted] finally called - I sent them a ton of photos as requested. Again I heard nothing. I contacted the Bestbuy credit card company as well (twice) to have the amount taken off my credit card while they sort this out. Again, I received no response whatsoever.

I can honestly say that this is the worst experience I have ever had. I had a friend buy another tv with my credit card, but Bestbuy seems to be incapable of keeping their word, arranging a pick-up or refunding. I have given them all information and photos several times and STILL nothing. I have waited for over 2 months and I am done.Desired Settlement: I want the purchase price of the tv to be refunded. They can pick the broken thing (it has a giant crack in the screen) up or I can toss it. But I want the pick-up to be soon - I have already held on to the thing for over 2 months!

Review: I would like to file a complaint against BESTBUY wireless - Cellular Stop in [redacted]. They mislead consumers with a name of "BESTBUY Wireless". This is store is not related to BEST BUY. I was interested to buy two iPhone 5s unlocked and hoped the price would be a bit cheaper given the Apple announcements the following week. This stored looked very genuine from the outside. While we were comparing phones and discussing price, the [redacted] said he would give two iPhone 5s phones unlocked for $700/- I was still looking at different models and colors and suddenly, he told me that he was closing the store in a few minutes an produced a receipt for $979/- $800 + Unlocking Fee. I said, I am still looking at models and comparing the size and this was not something I had even agreed upon. Just because you have my credit card, you can not swipe it. I said, please cancel the transaction. Another guy showed up at that time and pushed me and took my water bottle during the middle of a conversation. I immediately sensed that something is wrong with the store and I reinforced canceling my charge. The [redacted] said, goods once sold can't be returned and showed me the policy on the board. I said, I never even agreed to purchase the product and I am still in your store identifying the product to buy and we have not even agreed on price. He was not willing to return my cardI walked out of the store, came to the other side of the store and called 911. They sent an officer to the store in the next 10 minutes. The officer asked them to return my card & ID and the store guy argued that I purchased the fro the phone. At this point, he put one random phone in a BLACK plastic bag and showed it to the officer. This was not something I remotely even wanted. The officer said, this is a CIVIL matter and said I take it to Revdex.com & credit card company. I am filing a formal complaint to take severe action against this store and bring them in front of law. Review: On march **, with my husband, I bought a USB power adapter to charge my iPad. I presented my [redacted] A clerk (since clerks were not appointed, they will be identified by the letters A and B) introduced me to what seemed to be a receipt for $ 21.56 cash for this purchase, I received signed. Everything went in English, which is not my mother tongue because I speak French.

Employee B has arrived, placed a box on the counter. A clerk, who still had my card in hand, presented me with a receipt for $ 1,633, which was reported buying an iPad. I asked what it was, the clerk B told me it was for the purchase of an iPad. I said I had never bought iPad, I had just bought a USB power adapter, showing them the product. I asked to cancel the transaction since I had never bought an iPad. I and discusses several minutes.

A clerk told me to sign the receipt for it to cancel the transaction. I said that I did not sign because I had not made this purchase, he could cancel the transaction without my signature, that the machine could not see my signature, that he could cancel the transaction without my signature, I did not sign and I repeated this several times. A clerk told me he would not cancel the deal if I did not sign, I repeated that I did not sign ... this repeatedly for minutes! I mentioned that I would go to the police about it. As I wanted to be a cancellation of the transaction, I was more stressed out, I signed in desperation.

The clerk B arrived, he introduced me to what seemed like a receipt for reimbursement in the amount of $ 1,499. I said it was $ 1,633 they had charged me, that I wanted a complete cancellation of this amount. He argued that he could not cancel the taxes he had to do a manual document.

He finally gave me two documents:

The clerk B showed me the connection between the two transaction numbers, the reference of one another. I thought everything was settled, I picked up everything and I took the door. I have no receipt for the purchase of the adapter paid with my [redacted] card and the amount of $ 21.56 is not on my [redacted].

Leaving the store, I looked around around to find police officers, without success. I took a picture of the trade as well as a person who stood in front of the store. This person is the one who first told me when I asked to buy an adapter for iPad, before the intervention of committed A. This person quickly left later trade.

My husband and I traveled immediately to [redacted] restaurant close to the other side of the street to check the status of my [redacted] card, since I do not have internet on my iPad. I quickly found that an amount of $ 2,141.60 was listed as pending purchases on behalf of [redacted]. In a state of extreme anxiety and intense stress, I looked for a phone to notify [redacted] fraud. As I did not see any telephone booth, I entered the branch of the [redacted] close, telling an employee that I had been scammed, I had to call [redacted], I had no phone and it was a toll free number for them. The clerk offered a closed office where I contacted [redacted]. The employee at [redacted] told me not to worry, that the transaction was only waiting, the transaction transaction cancellation was longer and I had to wait a few days. As I feared that we have cloned my card (I did not realize then that I had received a STORE CREDIT) I have not used the rest of the trip.

Leaving the office of the [redacted], I told what had happened to the store WIRELESS BESTBUY the bank employee who told me that in the last month was the second event kind he had heard about this trade.

On our return home in late afternoon, Monday, March **, I again contacted [redacted]. I spoke to a clerk. I explained in detail what happened, she said that the law required to wait 15 days to know if the transaction is canceled. She told me that I should contact the dealer for more details on the term STORE CREDIT. She expressed doubt that the transaction can be canceled by [redacted].

On ** March, with my bilingual son company, we attempted to contact [redacted] store the phone number on the invoice: ###-###-####, to get further explanation of the term STORE CREDIT as advised by the clerk of [redacted]. This phone number is irrelevant, this was recorded on IPad. He therefore we can not talk to a clerk to try to resolve the dispute, reinforcing our view the thesis of fraud.

Review: Whilst on my travels in New York, I went into the mentioned phone store to purchase an iPhone 4s. We negotiated a price of $250 however once the transaction went through, the price came to $348.39. I questioned why the higher price and the sales person said it was due to a fee for unlocking the phone plus tax. I was not made aware that there will be additional costs to purchase the phone and I wasn't happy with the additional fees so requested I get refunded the amount and return the phone. The sales person agreed and said he would refund the money to my credit card. As I was in a rush to get to the airport to leave the country I didn't have a proper look at the receipt. When I got to the airport I realised that they did not refund the amount but the receipt said that I have been issued with a store credit. No store credit was issued to me, no money refunded and no phone exchanged.

I am extremely disappointed in the service dealings of this company. They were dishonest and it seems intentionally trying to trick me into taking my money and keeping the phone. If I was made aware of their store policy of no cash or charge refunds I would have taken the phone or purchased something else. They knew I was in a rush to get to the airport and leave the country and dishonestly told me the funds have been refunded to my credit card.

Also of note is that I contacted Bestbuy Wireless customer service (company listed on the receipt) and they have no record of this transaction and the location is not one of their Bestbuy stores. The telephone number on the receipt (###-###-####) never gets answered. I have tried numerous times and so has Bestbuy Wireless. I am lead to believe that this store may be operating under Bestbuy illegally?

Can this please be investigated and the funds refunded to my credit card as verbally promised.Desired Settlement: Amount of transaction $348.39 USD to be refunded to my credit card as verbally promised

Review: What happened is simple:

- I have been to this shop where I was told, the day before, that an iPhone 6 16GB unlocked it would have cost 649$, as per market value;

- The day after I went back to get the phone, and I have asked to pay with my debit card - I have been asked for the card to pay the phone, I provided the card and instead of been asked a confirmation for the amount, and make me swipe the card, the guy spent few minutes behind his desk - swiped my card - and then he prompted me with a receipt to sign of 1034$.

- He was not able to explain me why the difference in terms of prices, he firstly said about some unlocking procedures (which are not needed since Apple is selling the unlocked version already) and then I could not really understand, explanations were not given anymore.

- At that stage, I have refused to sign the receipt, saying I would not have given the authorization to that payment and I would have not signed.

I have asked to VOID the payment, but they said it was not possible.

Then that was against the store policy - the thing here is that I have never agreed on paying that amount.

- Then, he said he could have kept the phone, if I would have signed the receipt, and that after my signing they would give me the "difference" in cash (not sure about which difference, really...) but I had refused again - he was just trying to get my signature on the receipt.

- Then my girlfriend reached me and stayed in the shop while I was calling my bank from outside trying to find a solution, at that stage the amount was authorized and on hold already, moreover I was and I still am scared he could have copied/cloned my credit card information.

When I have finished the call and I got back inside the shop, basically I could not get the phone nor the receipt back.

I was alone with my girlfriend and they were three and it seems they had contacts with the shops attached to them, so I could only leave the shop without receipt, without the phone (both were not on the desk anymore), without being able to say anything more but with 1034$ blocked on my account.

On the receipt there is not going to be my signature, and I am pretty sure that they will try to replicate it somehow.

I have already written to VISA, to my personal banker and I have informed my bank hotline as soon as the fact happen.Desired Settlement: I just would like to have the full amount refunded on my bank account and to void the transaction made.

Review: I was speaking with an associate about the Playstation 4 and he brought up the best buy credit card and I told him I was not interested and he told me just to see what your credit line would be if I do decide to buy the playstation. I decided to run the check out of pure curiosity about my credit line while being under the impression this was just to see my credit line. He stated that it would not be a rico credit check and would be a store check only. I followed the process and there was a point where you had to pick a credit card and I was extremely confused when this was not what was discussed. the managers where called over briefly to try to cancel the situation and I was told I needed to pick one since the process was at this step and I could cancel it "WITH NO AFFECT TO MY CREDIT or WAIT 60 days and it will cancel it itself" which when I called customer support after work found out those were both false. what right minded person would sign up for a credit card with no information about the interest rates or even given a brochure about the card.Desired Settlement: I want this credit card to not be mailed if possible and no affect to my credit and possibly better training of the staff.

Review: I bought in july ** two Iphones at Bestbuywireles. The IPhone 5S paid with my credit card, is all right and I have nothing to complain about. My complaint is about the second IPhone 4S Serial number [redacted], paid US$474,00 cash, that after going back twice to Bestbuywireless, the seller and the manager refused to give me a copy of the bill of sale. The worst is that the phone doesnt work, not recognizing any sim card. The representation of [redacted] phone in Rio de Janeiro examinated the phone and unfortunatelly I bought a broken phone. Entered shop wanting to buy a Nexus 6 64 Gb.

Being told orally that cost will be 590$

Asked to enter pin on PIN pad not showing price before 10s.

Wait to see price, see 1371.79, refuse to enter PIN explaining there is a mistake in price

Salesman still swipes my card and prints a receipt with 1371.79$ on it, asking me to sign it.

I refuse, explaining that I want to pay only the price of the phone.

I am explained that when I sign he will reimburse me of the difference. Also shows me that the receipts contains 'Transaction authorized' so I already lost the money, the only way to get some back is to sign the receipt.

So I sign the receipt.

Then I am explained that the final price is 1371.79 and includes some services I never asked for.

I try to cancel, stop the purchase but am being explained that all purchases are final.

Full version:

Entered the shop and asking for a Nexus 6 64Gb.

I am presented a Nexus 6 32Gb. I have if they have the 64Gb version and am answered 'Yes'.

Then the salesman goes on with this 32Gb, let one of this colleages insert my SIM card into this 32Gb phone. At this point I tell again I don't want this phone I want the 64Gb version.

Then I am shown the 1371.79$ price and refuses to pay. The salesman explains this is the price of two phones; one 32Gb and one 64Gb. I answer I never asked for two phones but only the 64Gb version.

He tells me he understood; then explains me he will make me only pay 650$ (the price plus tax) and will reimbourse me 730$ if I sign the receipt.

So I sign the receipt and then he explaines me he has no 64Gb version, he thought that I meant I wanted a 32Gb phone with a 64Gb memory car I could plug to my computer to get additional storage. He also tells me at some point there is no 64Gb version of this phone. Then alos that it costs more than 1000$ to get this version.

I then say that I don't want to buy their phone this is not the product I asked for.

They explain they cannot do this as they "unlocked" it, which costs 199$. They tell me this is my mistake if they unlocked it.

I understand they will never refund anything. They tell me the 32Gb phone with the 64Gb memory card is mine but I cannot get my money back.

Contact with business

I tried getting reimbursed of the purchase and giving back everything I bought but they refused.Desired Settlement: To be refunded, I can also give back the Nexus 6 they made me purchase.
