In reference to your letter dated 11/24/ID No*** I am aware of the complaint you are asking me about#The customer was picking up her order and right away went to her sweater to check it out and started complaining about the small
holes in the sleevesShe said they were not there when she brought it in for cleaning
#I looked at the sweater and I thought that that it may be caused by mothsThey lay eggs in fabrics and when they hatch they eat some of the fabricsIt is hard to see what the worms did until the garment is washed or dry cleaned
I told the customer that we clean those type of sweaters in a net bag and I doubt if the damage was done in cleaning
She didn't want to hear about it, she got huffy about it
#asked her how old was the sweater and how much did she pay for the sweater? She didn't answer meI was trying to come up with a value based on the fair claims guide .Because she didn't answer me I could not come up with a settlement offer
#I then told her that we could have it analyzed at the lab but it cost something like $My policy is she put up the money and if the lab says it is my fault I will pay for the sweater and return the money to herShe didn't want to take a chance they might say it is not my faultShe hit the roof she thought I should pay for the analysis regardless who is responsibleLater she claimed she talked to another dry cleaner who said they would pay for the analysis regardless who is at faultt doubt it but that has nothing to do with the way I run my business .Later she called and said she would make a deal if I would pay for the analysis she would accept the results or something like that
I did not respond to that
#In summary if she had been more understanding I would have been more co-operativeHer attitude of "I am better than you just made me mad."

I am tired of all this about a sweater. Enclosed is a check made out to [redacted] the amount of $15.00. She said she does not pay more than $30.00 for a sweater. She also said her sweater is about 2 years old. Based on the FAIR CLAIMS GUIDE sweaters have only a 3 year life, ( copy enclosed )she is not entitled to more than 1/3 of 30.00 (that's $10.00) if she is telling the truth. So I am over paying her for something that I don't think is my fault.
I still don't think the damage to her sweater was caused in my business. We clean each sweater in a separate net bag by itself. Many items are cleaned in the same load but all sweaters are in separate net bags. She sounded like she thought several sweaters are in the same net bag. Not true one sweater to a net bag many bags to a load. Other dry cleaners don't do that. I think the damage to her sweater is from moth larva. When the larva hatch they eat the fabric a little. Than when the item is cleaned the holes open up more. I may not be exactly correct but I think I am close.
Due to her attitude I do not want her to ever come to my store again.
I am done with this ** I have better things to do like taking care of customers that appreciate my effort.
