Review: BEYER APPLIANCE IS THE SERVICE PROVIDER FOR MY HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. THEY CAME TO MY RESIDENCE X2 TO CHECK MY DISHWASHER THAT WAS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY ....WOULD NOT CLEAN PROPERLY OR STAY ON A TIME SCHEDULE. THE FIRST VISIT THE TECHNICIAN [redacted] FIXED THE MECHANICAL PROBLEM RELATED TO TIMING. THE SECOND SERVICE CALL WAS ON MAY 7TH, 2013 DISHWASHER WAS NOT CLEANING ..DISHES WERE STILL COVERED IN FOOD WITH CALCIUM DEPOSITS.AND REMAINED MALODOROUS. I HAD FOLLOWED [redacted]'S ADVICE FROM THE PREVIOUS SERVICE CALL, SUGGESTING I GET "LEMISHINE" TO CLEAN THE DISHWASHER.WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. ON THE SECOND SERVICE CALL, THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE "WOULD KEEP COMING BACK TO FIX THIS DISHWASHER BUT EVENTUALLY I WOULD NEED A NEW ONE" I DID NOT WANT TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR SERVICE CALLS IF I NEEDED A NEW DISHWASHER . [redacted] STATED ,"WOULD NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE SERVICE CALL" THREE WEEKS LATER I GET A BILL FROM MY HOME WARRANTY COMPANY THAT I OWE $60 FOR A SERVICE CALL...THAT WAS POSTED ON THE SAME DAY MAY 7TH. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE HOME WARRANTY COMPANY THEY SAID BEYER APPLIANCE IS THE ONE WHO POSTED THE CHARGE. I CALLED BEYER AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER, [redacted]. WHEN I EXPLAINED THE ISSUE THAT [redacted] WAS NOT GOING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE SERVICE CALL, SHE RESPONDED IN AN ENTITLED, ARGUMENTATIVE MANNER. . " THEY CANNOT MAKE THAT CALL WETHER A SERVICE CHARGE IS CHARGED AND I WOULD NEED TO CALL THE HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. THE HOME WARRANTY SAID AGAIN IT WAS BEYER APPLIANCE THAT I NEEDED TO TALK TO. AFTER FOUR CALLS TO THE MANAGER [redacted], MY CALLS WERE NEVER ANSWERED....."SHE'S IN A MEETING AND WILL CALL YOU BACK"Desired Settlement: BEYER APPLIANCE SERVICE COMPANY IS UNETHICAL, DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS. THE HOME WARRANTY COMPANY EVENTUALLY NEGATED THE BILL THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN POSTED.

Mrs. [redacted]

Thank you for taking the time to inform us that we fell short of your expectations. Please accept my apologies. We are a third party provider for your warranty company. According to the terms of your contract, any work performed is warrantied from your home warranty company for a period of 60 days, and you will not be charged again for that machine.

We serviced your dishwasher on 2/27/2013 for your home warranty company. This repair would be covered by your home warranty company contract, ( see attached ) for a period of 60 days, or until 4/27/2013. You placed a work order for another repair on your dishwasher on 5/7/2013. This is outside of the terms of your contract with your home warranty companies 60 day warranty. I'm sorry if you were misled, but we can not alter the terms of your contract with your home warranty company.

Respectfully,

Service with this company has been a terrible disappointment. They did not want to take any responsibility for the food in my fridge freezing due to a damper being taken out the day before. I was told that my fridge might get a little bit colder but not anything that I would notice. It ended up freezing and all my food, $300 worth of food, wad frozen, mostly organic vegetables. I asked to be transferred to the manager but the manager failed to call me back.I had to call numerous times just to get through to the manager. Once I did get through, they did not want to take any responsibility for the damage to my food. The next day I noticed that the water dispenser was broken. I figured it must have been from the water freezing in the pipes when the fridge froze from removing the damper. I called them back and again they did not want to take any responsibility.

Review: The workman arrived as scheduled. He was there to repair my clothes washer and my dishwasher. The problem with the clothes washer is the water keep running into the tub and drains at the same rate so it never stops. He used a tie string like you would get on a loaf of bread to "fix it!" I am not making this up.

Then he said that the dishwasher makes a horrendous noise because it is old and he can't fix it because it still works. (You try to carry on a conversation with the racket it makes.) Another minor but annoying problem is also that the rinse dispenser is broken and the wheels on the trays that hold the dishes keep falling off. I am willing to pay for the wheels and dispenser if they will come out and fix it. However, I don't think I should pay the $125 a second time.

Also they did not give me the courtesy of telling me they wouldn't be doing what I paid them to do. As a retired soldier living on my retirement pay from the military, $125 is a LOT of money.Desired Settlement: I hope this is acceptable. If it's not, either all or a portion of the $125 should be refunded.

Response:

Revdex.com, in regards to this complaint, we are a third party servicer for the customers home warranty. He requested service through his home warranty company, NOT Beyer Appliance. As required by the terms of his contract he is to pay a $125.00 deductible, regardless of what is done or not done. We called in our report to his home warranty company and they denied his claim for his dishwasher. With regards to his washer, yes, a zip tie is common practice to hold the drain hose from coming out of, or going down too far in the drain, in fact manufactures include one their installation kit. If he feels his home warranty should have covered the repair to his dishwasher, he should contact his home warranty company.Regards,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Okay, let's see if I have this right. My warranty company charges me, the "repair" company charges me, and my broken dishwasher is still broken. Everybody is happy except the poor consumer who thought his appliance was going to be repaired. Maybe you could have contacted the Warranty company while at my home so I could talk to them. I know, that's not done, so when I do find out, everybody is gone and I am by myself, with the only difference is my bank account has less money in it. Beyer, I know I was required to pay $125 which I did willingly, but do you honestly think you earned it?

Regards,[redacted]
