 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:First of all, this company is telling me that I CANNOT SELL THE PROPERTY. That is not true. Secondly, I have had several offers on the home each of them knowing that THE PRICE IS REDUCED TO ACCOUNT FOR THAT BILL AS WAS THE BUYERS FEE WHICH WAS ALSO FORFEIT ON THE BID 4 ASSETS SITE TO ACCOUNT FOR THAT BILL TO THE TUNE OF $2500+. THE COST OF THE TAXES WAS REMOVED FROM THE PRICE AND THE AUCTION FEE. This home has over 5 more times the value in equity than the property taxes, (that are INcorrect), and that this company is being egregiously pessimistic and obsessive about. Secondly, If the company had ever told me that my ad was unacceptable, and also since I am not an employee with this company, I had no other knowledge beyond what I was told, and I was advertising the home for months, saying DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE and AS IS, and that was after several approvals. The day I was told was the day I sold my van and that was a day or 2 before the auction was due to expire. This was also after I felt that I had been MISTREATED. If the company had backed off after notifying me and without what I perceive to be OVERLY CONTROLLING behavior, telling me I CAN'T SELL and then cutting me off WITHOUT ANOTHER WORD; If they had given me a cooling off period to think about how I may alter the ad to appease their concerns or to ask about some other language that I could have used - and which is NOT NUMERICALLY SPECIFIC in  99% of the other ads on this site - houses that are advertised for $1 and 'do your due diligence.' I have been reading the ads and doing my own due diligence on this site with purchases for 5 years. Perhaps the company is changing their business model into something more like the "[redacted]."  Which is fine. But you have to know that redlining and such is illegal and carries fines and penalties of around $10,000. It was also about the same day Ben Carson was chosen for HUD and I mentioned the blackened pictures that were sent back to me. I think that the company has over-shot this incident and I feel discriminated against. You can't approve someone several times and then kick them out if they would like to step away and think or change their mind. If they want to run a boutique fine, but it is still against the law to be prejudiced in this way saying, 'we just don't want her,'and I really think that the counties should choose a different company for tax sales IMMEDIATELY.
I did find the $10 refund. Thank you.

Hi [redacted],Sorry to hear about your negative experience.  Can you please provide specific example(s) of Bid4Assets auction IDs and what specifically were the issues with these corresponding properties?Regards,Bid4Assets Client Services

Hi [redacted],We reached out to the seller [redacted] on your behalf and asked for an update on your deed work.  Here's his reply:The bidders deed was mailed to the wrong address which I believe was supplied by the buyer Once the bidder contacted me with the correct address I mailed the bidder the...

deed. I sent copies of the deed showing it notarized on the date of her payment as well as the postal envelope showing that the deed sent was returned as undeliverable. I explained this to the buyer as well as sending her copies of the notarized deed and undeliverable returned envelope from the post office. Once I received the correct address from the buyer I sent her the deed to the property which she should have received by now Not sure what else I could have done. We're also requesting a copy of this deed, which will we forward to you.  Let us know if there's anything more we can do to help.Regards,Bid4Assets Client Services

[redacted]   I am an executive of Bid4Assets and have reviewed your account and communication history.  The details of your case are simple.   You placed a bid on a property that was being sold via [redacted], subject to liens and back taxes.  When you...

bid, you entered your credit card and agreed that if you won the auction and did not complete the sale, you would pay a $250 fee for non-performance.  You clicked that you agreed to those terms, placed your bid, then did your due diligence after the fact and decided the property was too delinquent and you planned to default.  You won the auction and defaulted, hence, Bid4Assets charged your card the $250 fee.   Much more disturbing to me is what I'm seeing after that.  You notified our customer service team that you were coming to Bid4Assets to harm employees even if "I may to serve prison time".  You made anti-Semitic comments about Jews and threatened harsher actions "against non-Christians".  Consider yourself on notice, next threat will result in our turning this over to our attorneys, who reserve the right to take appropriate action with law enforcement.   You threaten numerous times to sue us.  If you feel that Bid4Assets has "scammed" you, that's what I would suggest.  I have heard nothing from you to suggest that Bid4Assets has done anything wrong.  Bid4Assets enforced the terms that you agreed to.  You defaulted on your obligations and threatened my staff with violence.   Bid4Assets

I know our client services team was in contact with you today to make sure you enter your "c/o" info into the name fields (which will print on the mailing address) rather than the company field (which will not print on the address).  You should have the new USPS tracking number, but here it is...

[redacted],There are 2 parts to your complaint. The first deals with not being able to sell your property.  We brought to your attention that your property had thousands of dollars worth of back taxes and would soon be heading for tax foreclosure and you chose not to disclose that to buyers.  Selling on Bid4Assets is a privilege, not a guarantee, and we elected not to allow you to continue selling on our platform.  Our terms of service give us the authority to choose who sells at our discretion. The second issue is the $10 listing fee refund.  Our head of accounting once again confirmed that on 1/16/17, your mastercard ending in 7660 had a $10 refund issued.  Please check your credit card statement for January 16-26 looking for a $10 credit.  If you claim it is not there, please send a copy of your CC statement for that date range to our customer service team and we will mail you a $10 check.Regards,Bid4Assets Client Services

[redacted],   We received the complaint you filed with the Revdex.com.  I have researched the matter thoroughly.   There are numerous inaccuracies in your complaint.   For an account to be able to bid, you have to complete the registration process and click on an...

activation link that goes out in an automated email.  You cannot bid during the registration process, but you can register, receive an activation email, click the activation link, and then bid on an auction, which we can see from your click history is exactly what you did.   Furthermore, clicking the back button cannot trigger a bid.  Simply entering a bid and accidentally hitting the “enter” key also cannot trigger a bid.  When a user bids on Bid4Assets, you have to click off 3 checkboxes and reenter your password.  This prevents users from accidentally clicking a wrong key and placing a bid on the many public auctions we conduct for county, state, and the federal government.  Since this was a private sector auction, you also entered your credit card when you placed your bid.  Our registration process is free and does not capture a credit card, you only could enter your credit card in the process of placing your bid.   We also have your correspondence with the seller.  It does not appear he said anything about your bid being erroneous, he simply said he is the seller and cannot cancel a bid, which is true (a bid on Bid4Assets is a legally binding contract and cannot be canceled).   Your final complaint is that you placed this bid on a weekend when our company is closed and does not provide live customer service.  A bid is a legally binding contract and cannot be canceled, so it was not the lack of customer service that affected the outcome of the auction.  Had you placed this bid during normal business hours and called in, you would have been instructed that a bid on Bid4Assets is a legally binding contract and cannot be canceled.   We’re sorry this has caused you emotional distress.  Your having placed a bid on an auction and then winning that auction and not paying adversely impacted both the seller and Bid4Assets.  That’s why we have these fees to deter this sort of activity.  If you would like to purchase a comparable $100 property (plus any fees outlined in the auction) from the seller, we would be happy to reinstate your account and refund the $250.  If you can provide a screenshot of where you were able to enter your credit card in the registration process and not while you were in the process of placing a bid, we will immediately refund your $250.   Regards, Bid4Assets Client Services

Amon,
According to [redacted], your check was cashed earlier this week.  Has this situation been resolved?

Thanks for contacting Bid4Assets.  Bidder [redacted] did not complete thorough due diligence prior to bidding on two real estate auctions listed on Bid4assets. Bid4Assets is only the bidding platform for all assets listed.  We work with Government sellers like US Marshals, FBI, IRS,...

County Governments as well as private sellers.  All our private sellers are ID verified and Bid4Assets is committed to providing a secure environment for all our customers. Seller ID Verifications significantly decreases Internet fraud and our buyers are assured they are doing business with sellers who are who they say they are.  We also per our terms require all assets display the following on each auction page – It is highly recommended that interested bidders arrange for an external inspection personally or through a designate and that they contact the county or city in which the property is located to confirm the status of the property. Bid4Assets reminds all potential real estate bidders that it is your responsibility to complete all due diligence needed to determine the condition, market value, or investment value of this asset prior to placing a bid. Necessary due diligence items may include, but are not limited to, A satisfactory inspection of the property Completion of a title search Investigating back property taxes and Other - liens and encumbrances such as unpaid utility bills. Bidders when placing a bid, they acknowledge that any statements made by the seller about the condition or market value of the property are subjective, and do not release you from your responsibility to perform due diligence. Please contact Bid4Assets if you believe that a seller is intentionally misrepresenting a property in their auction. All bidders and all potential buyers should complete due diligence prior to bidding on assets including buildability, liens back taxes etc.  This is agreed upon with bidders when they register, bid and every auction page a notice is provided. These notices and examples have been attached for your review.   [redacted] agreed to the terms of the auction, agreed that she completed due diligence on the assets to her satisfaction and to the $250.00 fee charge if transaction was not completed on her behalf.  She then checked 3 agreement boxes and placed her secured bid. After winning the assets and being reported as a Non-Performer/Non- Payer from the seller we were informed she hadn’t completed her due diligence. Upon reviewing this auction and seller details, the seller did not state anywhere in the asset description one lot was buildable or did they misrepresent the asset in listing details.   Bidders should be aware that they have entered a legally binding agreement if they place a winning bid on an auction on Bid4Assets.   Please see our Terms of Service, section 3.3 (b.) “offer and acceptance – binding contract between buyer and seller.” Every bidder must agree to the Terms of Service before bidding. We take bidder performance very seriously and expect every winning bidder to complete their transaction. We vigorously enforce any violation of policy. ThanksDirector, Client ServicesBid4Assets Inc.

Lousy customer service and borderline-fraudulent operations. These guys should not be allowed to touch anyone's money, let alone be in the real estate business.
I sent an e-mail and called three times asking if I could participate in a tax auction. No response. After attempting to call them 3 times I finally reach someone who was rude and unhelpful. He said he couldn't provide any guarantees, but that I should send the money over right away???!!! Also, the customer service rep didn't tell me his name at the beginning of the call, I had to specifically ask (A[redacted]).
Overall terrible experience. C[redacted] legislatures: kick these guys to the curb and run your own tax auctions. These guys are ripping off the consumers from right under your noses.

Dear [redacted],

We’re sorry
to hear that you’re experiencing difficulties with our auction site.

I’ve
researched the matter with our deposit services team and here is what has
happened as I understand it:

Bid4Assets
mailed your refund check within 10...

business days of the auction’s close as per
the auction’s terms.  Your account had an
old mailing address that you had not updated, so the check bounced back to Bid4Assets.  We contacted you to obtain your new address
and mailed the check to your new address, but you claim to have never received
it.

We just
mailed you a check to your current address again (this is our third time
mailing you this refund check), which you should receive early next week.  If you have not received the check by Wednesday,
December 9th, please email [redacted]@bid4assets.com
and we’ll work to make other arrangements for you.

Thanks and
thank you for using Bid4Assets.com.

I am rejecting this response because:I cancelled my participation on 1/09. I emailed the bid4assets on 1/22 to inquire my refund. I received a reply that my check was mailed that day. I received my check on 1/27 with postmark on 1/22. I received my refund 12 business days after my cancellation which is still more than 10 business days. Why is it that they wait the last minute or a complaint to mail the refund?

[redacted],

size="3">Thank you for your inquiry.  We
have thoroughly researched this matter.

Your account was originally not identified because:
1)
You were using a different email address than is
on your account
2)
You emailed Bid4Assets “On Jan 25th, there was $250
charged to my debit card from your site. I have no account with you and have no
idea what it could be. Please refund that amount.”

We have identified your account and see that you were charged a $250
non-performance fee for winning, but not paying for, auction 691775.  You did, of course, agree at the time you bid
to pay this fee if you won the auction but did not complete the sale.

[redacted]

You say in your desired outcome that you would like “$250 refund OR the
item that I paid for”.  The seller
reported that you did NOT pay for this item, which is what prompted the $250
fee.  You are clearly stating that you
did in fact pay for it.  If you’ll simply
attach proof of payment that you made to the seller to purchase this property,
we will verify and then return your $250 non-performance fee.

Review: I have or had an account with BDI4ASSETS. I wished to sell some properties on their website, and they have charged me $10.00 for each listing, of which I had 2 (TWO) listings. After a day, they asked me to send them a copy of my recorded deed for the parcels, of which I have. I contacted them to see the process and have not received a response. Than my account was placed on hold, and the charged of $10.00 per listing posted on my credit card. I e-mailed them for 2 (TWO) days through their various e-mails on why my account was on hold. On the next day, I continued to e-mail them, and decided to call them after no response. When I called them, I waited 20 minutes and no one answered. Finally I received an reply by E-mail:

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Bid4Assets. The account you've referenced is a duplicate

account which was closed, as Bid4Assets allows only one account per

person/business/household.

Listed below is the username and password associated with your existing suspended

accounts.

User Name:

Our records indicate that you have created at least 6 duplicate accounts, which are

all considered violations of the Bid4Assets website Terms of Service and Policies.

We also show that you were warned about this violation in the past.

I was flabergasted. I don't have any duplicate accounts with BID 4 ASSETS, yet they allege I do. Okay, fine, they don't want me to use their website, but why are they charging me $10.00 per listing, twice, if they did not provide me with that service. Secondly, why are they not following their terms of service as well?

A seller on their website, by the user name of [redacted], has been having auctions for several months now. Currently he has two auctions for lots in New Mexico, with auction identification numbers as follows: [redacted] & [redacted]

According to BID4ASSETS Sellers policies, in the category specific listing policies, under the category, Real Estate - Agricultural, Commercial, Land, Residential, it reads as follows:

"APN (Parcel #) or address must appear in auction. Any liens or back taxes must be disclosed."

In fact for this seller ([redacted]) did not provide the APN (Parcel #) for the properties, and did not disclose any back taxes on the property, of which there are, since I contacted the county.

Another seller ([redacted] - AUCTION ID: [redacted]) did not disclose any back taxes on the property.

Another Seller ([redacted] - AUCTION ID: [redacted]) stated buyer is responsible for any back taxes, but didn't disclose the back taxes.

Just because a seller states, property may have back taxes, find out yourself, is not disclosing whether or not there are back taxes.

So, BID4ASSETS is discriminating against particular sellers on whether their terms of service should apply to them or not, because if they didn't than these sellers, just these few listed, others as well, than these sellers would disclose the parcel number / address AND disclose every back taxes and liens.Desired Settlement: I would like BID4ASSETS to refund me for the two listings fees of $10.00 each, since they did not follow up on their service I requested. Secondly, I would like them to stop stating that I have other accounts, when I do not. They claim that I have other accounts on other addresses. I live in one place and have a drivers license to prove it. Just because their website isn't as secure and anyone can enter anyone's name doesn't mean I made those accounts. So I would like them to issue an apology for not contacting me back in a decent amount of time. Finally, most importantly, I want BID4ASSETS to adhere its policies to all sellers, not to the sellers they wish to adhere to. Since these sellers and others not listed are not adhering to the policies, they should be suspended from using the website.

We have

reviewed [redacted]’ complaints, which focus on 1) Bid4Assets’ claim that **.

[redacted] has registered 6 different accounts and 2) that he wants to be refunded

for $20 in listing fees.

Review: I deposited money for a county tax auction which I stopped on 01/09/2015. I had been waiting for my refund for 12 days now. Bid4assets, Inc. stated to wait for up to ten days to get my refund and when I emailed the company today, 01/22/2015, the reply was my refund was just mailed today, 01/22/2015 after I made a complaint. That is not a good business practice. They should process refunds in timely manner, and not hold on to it until complaint is done. I haven't received my refund yet and don't know when it will arrive.Desired Settlement: Quick refund.

Response:

Mr. [redacted],

Thank you for your inquiry.

The Santa Clara tax sale closed on January 12. Bid4Assets’ policy states that refunds will

be mailed out within 10 business days, which would be January 27 (MLK day is a

federal holiday). All of the refunds,

including your refund, were mailed out on January 22, days before the deadline

(the date had no relation to your complaint).

Auditing a government tax sale to make sure the correct amount of funds

are disbursed to all parties and agencies is a complex process and we

appreciate your patience.

If you have not received your refund by Thursday, please call our

client services team at [redacted].

Thank you,
