In response to [redacted] complaint The Road hazard warranty would have replaced the tire free for [redacted] at any of our locations With that said we normally do not reimburse for a tire replaced at a facility other that [redacted] *** [redacted] is a very good customer and we did make an exception for him We just receive an invoice from the dealership he went to and we will refund any expense he has incurred promptly We hope that we have satisfied him and will continue to business with us Thank you! [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: In reading the letter that they responded, they conveniently left out all the other times I brought vehicle in for them to look at issues that arise after they fixed my vehicle and was consistently told there was nothing wrong and was sent on my way however again conveniently they left that outAlso upon review of their response I found errors with milage that they have documented there is no possible way the milage could have decreased at times I took it there for repairsIf they rotated my tires each time I went for an oil change then the alignment and tire issue I am having now wouldn't exist and they would have preformed a proper oil change that I paid forDarren stated to my husband that the problem occurred because the tires were not rotated but when asked if they get rotated during oil changes the answer was yes, however they did not do what they stated was included with oil changeBig corporations should not be able to get away with these schemes and should be held to a standard Regards, [redacted]

05/20/2016 RE: *** *** complaint to Revdex.com On May 16th, 2016, *** *** came in for a PA state inspectionHer *** *** van was checked by our inspection
mechanic, and several things were found to be in need of repair or replacement to pass the safety inspection. The right rear axle seal has gone bad & leaks axle grease to the point of contaminating the rear brake shoes & hardware necessitating the need to replace the shoes & hardware as well as replacing the axle seal.The right front tire is worn to secondary rubber on the outside edge due to a misalignment issue & needs to be replacedWe also recomended an alignment as the last alignment on the vehicle was 15,miles ago and the tire is showing wear caused by an alignment issueThe side mirror on the drivers side door is also broken & needs to be replaced to pass inspectionA verbal estimate was given on the work needed to be done and was refusedThere was no charge to the customer for the inspection. The history of the vehicle at Kost is as follows: 1-April Vehicle came in for tires & inspectionInstalled tires, front brake pads,calipers & brake hosesRear brake wheel cylinders were also replaced, brake fluid system was flushed & alignment perfomedmiles 2-July Flat tire repaired at no chargemiles 3-Nov Oil change & tire rotation performedmiles 4-Feb Vehicle came in for noise in front brakesFound the left front brake caliper had siezed & wore the brake pads down & ruined the brake rotor on the left frontAll bad/damaged parts were replaced at that time at no chargeRear brakes were adjusted at that time as well & there was no sign of the axle seal leakmiles 5-March Oil change performedmiles 6-May State Inspection..see above-failed for several reasonsmiles We have performed work on this vehicle & customer has driven miles since original work has been performedWhen there was an issue created by a faulty part miles & months after the original work, repair was done at no charge to customerWe have not performed any service to the parts that are now in need of repair on this vehicle and in no way have these parts gone bad due to any other service Kost has performed on this vehicle. *** ***'s claim that we have not repaired her vehicle properly are as is her time frame as shown in the history of the vehicleAt this time there is no problem with any of the brake work done to the FRONT of her vehicleHer rear brakes would not have a problem if the original axle seal with 101,miles on it had not gone bad & leaked axle grease onto the partsI am uncertain how the failure of an original part on a vehicle constitutes poor workmanship on our partOur recommendation of replacing both rear axle seals, rear brake shoes & hardware is in keeping with those recommended by the car care council, ***, and several other nationally known agencies regarding proper customer service practices related to vehicle maintenance. I am rejecting this response because: Kost did damage my rimsThe only mistake on my part was not taking pictures prior to install and I didn't show Mike the rims prior to the installKost always make notes on service order and invoice if they notice anything wrong with auto, also they come and tell customer what they found prior to servicing the vehicleNo notes were on invoice. Also if it was curb rash as they claim the sidewalls would also have shown thatI also had car scheduled for an alignment and Mike came out of shop and told me that my car didn't need one, all tires were worn evenly, the only other thing he said is tires showed minor signs of dry rot in between the treads, nothing else about tires or rimsMike rolled out one tire to show me the area of dry rot. The tires that were replaced were original tires that came with car from FordI have been a customer with Kost for the past years

Kost Tire in no way damaged those wheels. Our tire machines are designed now to touch the wheels when mounting a tire. We asked *** *** if he would like us to demonstrate how the tire machine works but he declined! We value *** ***'s business and as a courtesy we are

In answer to *** ***’s complaint. We at Kost strive do our very best each day. Unfortunately, we do not stock all oil part #’s. We do apologize for keeping the customer longer than expected. We did respond immediately when the called about the oil light. We came to
the customer’s home and wanted to check the vehicle but the customer would not allow us to recheck the vehicle The customer did take the vehicle to the dealer. It was determined that there was ample oil in the vehicle but needed to be topped off. The dealer also determined that there was no damaged done to the vehicle’s engine. Kost Tire paid the dealership in full for diagnosis and correction. Any further concerns by the customer can be discussed. I am rejecting this response because: the tire has a nail in the tire not cause I hit a pothole and his personal machinac came to my house to try and get the car started againIn which he re deactivated my alarm in which should of never been deactavted at allIn which we believe is why the issues are going on 29th the carI don't understand why ken has anything to say about this when we delt with nicholasWho was ride after the car stopped working.

I am rejecting their offer because it is an unacceptable solutionKost Tire is at fault, NOT MEIt was their incompetent &/or untrained employee that damaged the wheel, after I was assured repeatedly this could not happenMrK*** is in no position to judge the damage to be minimal, as he has NEVER seen the wheelWhy will Kost not just give me the $it would cost to do the repair (price of "about half the cost of a new wheel" quoted to me by salesman) so I can put it toward a new wheel? I have been more than generous in my offers to Kost. *** ***

05-25-RE: *** *** complaint *** ***'s rebuttal to Kost Tire's response to her complaint is without meritI did make a typo on the original mileage from April 17th The mileage on the invoice is 86,799, not 89,as I had put in my letter, so her mileage did not go downI apologize for the confusionIt is recommended to change oil when using a conventional oil every milesKost tire does offer free tire rotations, but does not perform them or any other service to customer’s vehicles without the service being requested, so with regards to the oil change service performed on March 16th at 98,miles, we did not perform a tire rotationI cannot recall if one was asked for or notThis did not ruin the tireAs shown in the vehicle history, oil changes were performed at 86,miles, 92,miles and 98,milesI do not know if she had oil change services performed elsewhere, but if not, she traveled twice the recommended miles between oil changesWith concern to *** ***'s request of a refund for all of the work that was performed on April 17th 2015, I still maintain that the work performed at that time was of the highest quality, and when a problem did occur with a brake caliper, all parts and labor were covered at no cost to herThe problem with the rear axle seal was not caused by anything other than wear and tear, and is not something Kost should be held liable for simply because we have performed other services to the vehicleRegarding needing the right front tire replaced, the claim that I told her husband the wear was caused by not rotating is completely falseI informed her husband that there was an issue with the alignment that caused the wear on the tireWhile we did perform an alignment when the tires were installed, approximately 15,miles have passed, and with the condition of our roads, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that the vehicle may need alignment again, and when a vehicle is out of alignment, it can wear a tire out in a couple thousand miles or lessI am willing to offer *** *** a new tire at 50% of the standard retail price of $for a total of $and $off the alignment which is normally $As for the other repairs, she would be responsible for the full amountThere will be NO refund for the work done previously as there is no issue with the work performedThank you for your attention in this matterDarren G*** Manager-Kost Tire & Auto Service
