Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Bloomfield Homes continues to ignore the reason for the leak in our master bedroom. I have attached...

a report from Linear Roofing that has inspected our valley that is leaking and confirmed that the valley was not installed to building code. They have also attached the IRC building code language. The building code requires valley metal, ice and water shield, or roll roofing in the valley that prevents water intrusion. WR Roofing did none of these options and cut corners by not following building code requirements. The leak is due to improper installation and not following buidling codes. The home inspector did not address the valley that is leaking or the building code requirements as evidence of his report. I have also attached photos of additional damage to shingles from WR Roofing's contractor using a crow bar to try and find the leak on our roof.  We also have video of him doing additional damage if needed to be provided. Bloomfield is liable for the damages not due to warranty, but due to their roofing company not following building codes that caused our roof to leak.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Our roofing company Linear Roofing has provided further documentation to support that WR Roofing is not following building codes. Our roofing company Linear Roofing has provided information that supports that the sales Representative for Atlas that provides shingles for Bloomfield did not provide accurate information. Linear Roofing and General Contracting also uses Atlas Shingles as a supplier and is working with Atlas leadership to further review the information that was provided by their sales representative. Linear Roofing is a licensed contractor and has provided their license. Linear Roofing has provided further information supporting that #15 pound felt is not appropriate use for valley lining. On top of this they have also supplied Atlas Roofing Corporations specifications for installing a valley which states that their own specifications require Ice and Water Shield. Further more all of the letters that were supplied by Bloomfield from suppliers of shingles reference that #15 pound felt on "New Construction" is common practice. Common practice is not up to building code or Atlas Roofing own specifications for lining in the valleys. The building code does not state that "New Construction" is exempt for building codes as the letters that were supplied would lead one to believe.
I have provided a copy of Linear Roofing's license, which Atlas' representative informed was not licensed, also included Atlas specifications for installing valley lining, and finally a letter from Linear Roofing providing rebuttal to the information supplied by Bloomfield.
Bloomfield Homes needs to take responsibility for the leak that was caused in our house from the improper installation of the valley. Our expected remedy is that Bloomfield pay for the repair of the valleys on our house not installed to building code or Atlas Specification as well as the interior damage caused in our house.

Revdex.com Ms. [redacted] 1005 La Posada Drive Austin, Texas 78752RE: ID [redacted] — [redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted];We are responding to the above claim dated January 9, 2017.Upon receipt of this concern, we looked into any recent or pending requests from this...

consumer, and were unable to locate any so we have contacted the consumer directly to follow up. We have requested an inspection of the homes HVAC system by a manufacturers selected contractor as well as an inspection of the home to assess the foundation concerns mentioned in the letter. The HVAC contractor will be looking at the system this week and our employee will be assessing the foundation concerns on Thursday morning with the homeowner. If items are noted during the inspection of the home that warrant repair, or further assessment, then such items will be addressed accordingly and in conjunction with the Limited Warranty terms on the home.We take great pride in working to resolve customer and community concerns as they come up. If you should have any questions, or need to contact me, please call me at Sincerely, [redacted]Vice President of OperationsBloomfield Homes LP[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute.
Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below.
Dear Ms. [redacted],It does not appear that Mr. [redacted] substantively replied to our objections. What Mr. [redacted] wrote is an insult to us and the Revdex.com. He did not address any of our concerns. He seems to be tired of replying even though Bloomfield’s contractual obligations under the warranty cannot be relieved by Mr. [redacted] fatigue. We categorically deny his allegation that we did not allow workers into our home. Scores of his sub-contractors have been in our home over the past six months. We have allowed workers with appointments to enter our home on every occasion. The only worker who was not permitted to enter was a rep from [redacted]s because he did not have an appointment and our home was already filled with Bloomfield’s workers that day. This is our home and we need to have appointments set in advance so that we can spend time with the worker. We advised the [redacted] rep that his cabinets were a separate issue from other items being addressed that day. We demand proof of what other Bloomfield subcontractors were ever denied admission on any day and at any time when they had appointments. Mr. [redacted] is flat-out lying about our denying workers access to fix, repair or replace warranty items. Please ask Mr. [redacted] how it would make any sense for us to complain to the Revdex.com about Bloomfield if we did not want these defects to be addressed under the warranty. Mr. [redacted] needs to think long and very hard about how Bloomfield is going to faithfully fulfill their contractual obligations under the warranty. False excuses are not a solution to honoring the warranty.
Regards,
[redacted]

Mr[redacted] alleges that new cabinets were installed in our home. Unfortunately, the cabinets do not look as new cabinets should look. Upon closer examination of the cabinets, we found numerous visible defects. There are chips, scratches, dents and gouges that should not appear on any new cabinets. There are photos of these defects. The photos were taken by Bloomfield and ourselves. I have attached a number of such photo to this response. There are many more photos of damage and defect. [redacted] Cabinets came on February 9th, without advance notice to us and there were already three subcontractors working in our home at that time without Bloomfield supervision. We have since obtained an expert opinion from an independent kitchen cabinet specialist who advised us that these cabinets are “pure junk”. Therefore, there is no point in having [redacted] enter our home for the sixth time at least to advise us that these cabinets are “repairable with more white paint touch ups”. Because of the problems with the cabinets, we have not been able to put any household items in them since we moved in last September. [redacted] came in our home on 2/9/16. We started to explain the problems with the granite, when the sub immediately pulled out a razor blade and a bottle of some kind of liquid, without asking permission, he started scraping the granite with the razor blade and spraying what smelled like nail polish remover. We asked him to stop and he didn’t until we told him several times to stop. The problem with the granite when it was originally installed was it was left unprotected holding worker’s tools. The granite was not finished or polished and it is irreparably etched. Bloomfield Homes made us sign a paper as part of our purchase contract that if the granite is etched, the granite cannot be repaired it must be replaced. Therefore, you must replace our granite Mr[redacted] since you damaged it.
The [redacted] rep did lubricate the windows and adjusted the screens on 2/9/16. In the course of his work here, the [redacted] rep managed to inflict multiple scratches to the window seat in our master bedroom. Mr[redacted] says the windows are now working within “industry standards”. Please ask Mr[redacted] to send me a copy of those industry standards because the [redacted] rep said the problems with the windows stem from improper installation by Bloomfield Homes.
The original dishwasher was improperly installed because Bloomfield’s electrical subcontractor mounted the electric outlet too high on the wall behind the dishwasher. The original dishwasher was jammed against the wall causing the outlet to be pushed in causing a fire hazard. The new dishwasher was installed by plugging it into the garbage disposal plug. This meant that the dishwasher could only operate when the garbage disposal was turned on. We were not informed of this. Bloomfield now wants to make the garbage disposal outlet half switched. The original dishwasher outlet should be relocated lower on the wall behind the dishwasher where it should be installed. If there is an electrical problem behind the wall, we need to know about it. This is not the first or only electrical safety issue caused by Bloomfield’s sub-subcontractor, [redacted]
Second Touch was in our home on 2/9/16. He repaired a gouge in the bathtub. When we asked him about repairing the bath vanity counter tops, he said he could not promise that the results would make them appear new again. Subsequently, an independent counter top expert advised us that cultured marble counters are too soft to be refinished. They must be replaced.
There are numerous issues with doors, paint overspray, caulk and other very important items that have not been remedied by Bloomfield Homes nor addressed by Mr[redacted] in his reply?
We did not merely have a “rodent” in our walls, but a large smelly skunk. This skunk entered the home during construction when the home was under the complete ownership and control of Bloomfield Homes. It was through Bloomfield’s negligence that this skunk became trapped behind family room and both bathroom walls. It was their obligation to remove all evidence of the skunk. This is an area known to have numerous skunks at large. Bloomfield Homes did not go “the extra distance”. They just had to do what was absolutely necessary to remove the skunk and the horrible stench of skunk from our home. Due to their incompetency and failure to consider what we told them about the identity and location of the creature, we had to live in this situation for several weeks through Thanksgiving and Christmas, causing great emotional distress.
Mr[redacted] talks about “mistreatment”. Let me remind Mr[redacted] of the months of emotional and mental mistreatment and abuse that we have suffered at the hands of his two employees, Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] Both men have repeatedly lied to us, constantly contradicted us, never agreed with us, forgotten to address important items, arrived constantly late for appointments, showed up at our door unannounced, did not supervise subcontractors who worked in our home and did not answer texts or emails. That is real abuse and mistreatment of customers who are making the biggest investment of their lives. We were very patient with these men until there came a point we could no longer contain our anger and frustration. Perhaps, Mr[redacted] has us confused with one of our neighbors who was observed by several of us, cussing & screaming in anger and frustration after being insulted by Bloomfield’s flooring subcontractor or our neighbor on another street calling Bloomfield’s sales person a lying b[redacted]. Let me remind Mr[redacted] of his own insulting behavior to us when he offered to purchase our home back at the price that we paid for it, when he knew full well that it had appreciated greatly in value since we purchased it - extremely unprofessional. That is real “verbal abuse” Mr. [redacted]. Please remember that we have never mistreated or abused any of the subs who have worked in our home. We have provided lunch to several of them and have been treated by them to lunch at our kitchen table.
Ask Mr[redacted] to give me the names of these “representatives who walked our home”. Was one of the representatives Mr. [redacted] who failed completely to adequately supervise the construction of our home or [redacted], who does nothing?
In closing, your letter of 2/12/16, demanding a “ commitment to cease the verbal abuse” must begin with Bloomfield Homes. Let me remind Bloomfield that their obligations in this matter are contractual and cannot be made contingent upon anyone’s choice of language when the customer is constantly mistreated and abused by your employees. We have never committed any "verbal abuse" on any subcontractors and we have only verbally defended ourselves against the abuse committed by your employees. It is we who are awaiting apologies from you and your employees.
