Bob Johnson Chevrolet Reviews (33)

I would like the business notified and I would like the complaint posted for the public. My ultimate goal was to lease a new car for the advertised price of $200 per month with the stated terms of $1,000 cash down plus first payment, the tax, registration and aquisition fees. I'd like them...

to comply with their advertisement and follow through with what they promised. I have attached 4 pages to show the advertisement. It was a full page newspaper ad and I have circled the one for the Impala "ANY '14 LS or LT" with an MSRP between $27,670 and $35,115 and Total of payments $7,200. This was in the Saturday September 13, Democrat and Chronicle newspaper in Section F on pages 6F and 7F.
I have also attached the sample car I walked in with and asked them to price out for me. It was a 2014 Impala LT sedan with an MSRP of $34,720.
I'd like to add that several times the salesman said to me, "We can make the payment anything you want it to be as long as you work the numbers right." I said, I want to work the numbers to be $200 / month just like the ad. Thats when he said I would have to put $5,500 down to get to $200 / month. I also asked him to clarify how the first payment, the tax, registration and aquisition fees totaled $4,500 since the price was supposed to be $1,000 cash down plus the extra items. The salesman said the car I was looking at was an LT2 and not covered by the add and I showed him that the MSRP was in the correct range and that the add did not say anything about LS1, LS2, LT1 or LT2 but ANY LS or LT automobile.

This is in response to the Better Business claim id [redacted].
We sold 2 new cars to [redacted] in August. Both cars were going to be in [redacted]’s name, new plates on one and transfer plates on the other.
[redacted] gave us her insurance company, [redacted], which we...

called and got new insurance cards for both vehicles and took care of the registration work.
After receiving a Better Business complaint I reached out to the customer. I talked to the daughter, [redacted] and she told me the situation.
She said they mixed up the insurance and that the vehicle that we were transferring plates from was hers and that even though it was registered in her mother [redacted]’s name
the insurance was with [redacted] which we didn’t know as they told us [redacted] and they gave us the new insurance cards.
After my conversation with [redacted], she told me that they went to DMV and straightened out their insurance and all of the fines we taken care of as they were insured.
I have found no wrong doing by the salesperson or Bob Johnson Chevrolet and at this point the only thing that the customer is looking for is their registration.
Since the customer is a long time customer, as a good will gesture I have told them that we will waive the registration fee and give them the registration.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.

Please accept this letter as our response to complaint id [redacted]. I have attached a total of
three lien pay off checks that we processed in our effort to pay off Mr. [redacted]'s trade
loan.
Upon delivery of Mr. [redacted]'s new vehicle he provided us with his bank loan
/>
information of [redacted] Bank. Check #[redacted] was sent out June 30th. A week later [redacted]
Bank called us because there was not record of an active loan. We then called Mr.
[redacted] who gave us the correct bank information of [redacted] Bank. Unfortunately the
salesman, [redacted] spelled the City address incorrectly. Please see copy of check #
[redacted]
Because of this, the check was never received. We discovered the error when Mr.
[redacted] called us two weeks later concerned about his unpaid loan. After verifying with
State Farm that they did not receive our check and verifying with our bank that the check
was not cashed, we immediately over nighted another check, #[redacted] with the correct
address.
We have been very apologetic to Mr. [redacted] but have never lied to him. I have also
attached a copy of the "cashed" [redacted] check for proof that his loan was satisfied.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted]
As I stated in the complaint I was promised the return of my folding key/switch blade fob after recall service was performed and I returned to pickup my vehicle after one of the two services were performed to find the folding key to be stated as discarded and the only option   presented was a solid no folding key fob. & nbsp;yes it came for 2 recall services one being the unintended key rotation recall which required to my knowledge and was explained to me by the service representative that the ignition would be changed out and I was get a new cut key blade for my fob not a whole different key fob setup, which I inquired about and was promised to me wouldn't happen and that I would receive a folding key fob after service .

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]04, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The loan was paid off on 6/30. However the details explained in the Bob Johnson response are not true.
1. I never told them my loan was at [redacted]. I have determined that they looked up the original loan they created when I bought the vehicle I was trading from them and ASSUMED that was an active loan. They then cut a check to [redacted] to attempt to pay off my loan. My question is how did they obtain that closeout figure? A question they refuse to answer.
2. They never contacted me to find out where the lien on my trade was. I never gave the the [redacted] information until after [redacted] called me for not paying my monthly payment. When I contacted them they started to make excuses. They told me the lien on my title was [redacted] and when I called them on it it took them several hours to get back to me and tell me yes I was correct and the lien on the title was [redacted] Bank.
3. To date I have not received an honest apology. Any time they have called me they have been confrontational and refused to answer questions.
4. They did not immediately overnight a check. They told me on a Thursday they would overnight a check. The check was received on the following Wed. 4 Business days later.
So as you can see they had lied to me several times and never admitted their mistake or offered a genuine apology. They have not been truthful in the response they have given to the Revdex.com.
Regards,

Mr. [redacted] called our business center from Maryland  inquiring about our used Cadillac. James, one of our call reps gave me the lead and
I assigned him to one of our sales reps, Benny...

C[redacted]. Benny and Mr. [redacted] came to an agreement on price and he was to make arrangements
to come to Rochester for delivery. He was to take care of tax and license in Maryland as he lives there.
Mr. [redacted] came in on Friday May 21st to take delivery and  gave us a check for the car including tax and we went to the Dept of Motor Vehicles to get him
an in transit permit to go home and he would then get it registered in Maryland. We told him we would send him a check in the mail the following week for
the sales tax that he included in the cod check for some reason and we did mail it out to him the following week.
I was off the day he came in for delivery and the manager on duty called me to ask about a spare tire that Mr. [redacted] inquired about.  We had absolutely no
conversation about a spare and actually the car has run flat tires so nothing was promised. As far as the Navigation, also nothing was promised and the car does not have it.
As a good will gesture our service manager offered him free onstar navigation connection and directions for a year but he declined. As far as the keys, we did tell him
that we would send them to him as soon as the person that traded it in gave them to us. As of today the previous owner has not given us the extra keys and if he doesn’t get
them to us by next week then we will get a set made and send them to him as promised.
Feel free to call me or email if you have any further question.

Sincerely,

Re: complaint id [redacted]

[redacted] came in to buy a new Traverse from us on August 30th. He came in based upon a sale we were having. The sale was very aggressive as we were taking 25% off the price of the vehicle.
We did the sale price as agreed 25% off and he stated that he had a...

GM card for $3300 which was subtracted form the sale price.
He understood the sale price of 25% off plus tax and license and got his Gm card of $3300 off that.
The negotiated price was 25% off plus tax and license as stated by Mr. [redacted] so the GM card of $3300 off of that is pretty cut and dry.
I am not sure what Mr. [redacted] is looking for but we gave him the sale price that he negotiated for.
Call me if you have any questions.
