Lights are great quality! Bright. Have dealt with Boogey Lights in the past with no issues however on my most recent purchase and dealing with the company I cannot say the same. Very dissapointed...
This customer purchased component lights from us and opted to do his own soldering and assembly -- an option only the most technically capable of customers would typically choose as it requires electrical skills including knowledge of wiring 12vdc RGB leds along with common testing protocols. In the assembly process he didn't test his work before proceeding to mounting the lights. When he mounted the lights he realized the colors weren't correct. He wanted to blame us for not advising him in advance of how to properly wire the lights and more importantly to make sure he tested his work before mounting the lights. He even admitted he failed to test his work before mounting. When we brought this fact to his attention, he became combative. Simply put, this customer chose to purchase component lights and do the soldering and assembly himself to save a little money. When it didn't turn out as he expected, he wanted to blame someone else. As stated in our materials we do not warranty component products we don't solder and assemble). We cannot be responsible for the outcome due to the customer's inability to possess the basic testing protocol skills needed to do the job correctly.
Note: Customer has been fully refunded for his purchase with Boogey Lights ($69.75, including shipping) We will not accept orders from him in the future.
Account was much different than stated by Boogey Lights. Lights were shipped with Green and Blue labeled incorrectly on the PCB which they acknowledged in our email exchange (which I have saved). I did test the lights, but only made sure the RGB LEDs were all working. I did fail to verify that they were labeled correctly, so my error. The problem was fixed after realizing the issue and lights are working fine. As stated by Boogey Lights, a refund is in progress. Customer service is less than desirable.
Again, this customer elected to purchase our LED strips without power leads already attached. Any customer ordering individual lighting components doing his own soldering and assembly like this is assumed to be knowledgeable not only in RGB wiring but also in testing protocols. Our PCB is used for a variety of LED applications -- not just RGB but single color too. As such, the individual color labels aren’t always the same for all applications. The only important label is the GROUND. Anyone familiar with LED wiring would know this. The fact this customer didn’t understand this and further elected to bypass common testing protocols before installation has nothing to do with Boogey Lights. It has everything to do with the customer’s desire to blame someone else for what would otherwise have been a positive experience. While we accept zero responsibility for this customer’s complaint, we have refunded his purchase in full.
