BP Gas Station Reviews (49)

Review: An employee at this BP station had a place of work that had a number of customers in the store, however she shut off the pumps after I paid $20 for gas so that she would be able to talk on her phone (on 8/11/14)without giving me a receipt. Because she turned off the pumps, I was not able to receive the gas in which I paid for. When I went back into the store (which I did 4 times to resolve the issue), the pump attendant [redacted] told me that I would have to come back to the gas station the next morning (today 8/12/14) to talk with a manager, since none were on duty that night which I did, but because I have to be at work severely early, I went after work. In which case I talked with the assistant manager (I believe her name was [redacted]). [redacted] then informed me that because I had no receipt that they would not issue a refund even though I was able to show a mobile alert with the charge to my account, and the even though an employee that was there on 8/11/14 and would vouch for witnessing the encounter, agreeing that it had in fact happened. When I went to file a complaint with BP, I was sent to http://bpfvc.wufoo.com/forms/contact-us/ where it states a faulty number and the form was not able to be submitted. So basically what it comes down to is them charging me $20 for a service that they did not deliver and would not refund me for. If this is not resolved, I will be forced to take legal actions against them in order for them to he held responsible as well as make them repay the amount I am owed.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the $20 in which they charged me, as well as action to be taken against them (the employees and/or company) for refusal to repay the money for the services I bought and in addition, for the lack of capable employees on duty that are manager level or at least someone that is competent enough to resolve issues that regular employees cannot handle.

I Purchase gas at the gas station on Tuesday 04/29/2014. I didn't get a 2 miles if that far down the road and my vehicle that I purchased about 3 weeks ago it still had drive out tags on it died on me and on the side of the road. I had to get my vehicle towed to the dealer to find out that it their was water in my gas that I purchased from the ** gas station at [redacted] tn. I have tried talking with the owner about this but is refusing to talk with me. I got documentation that from the state that their was water in their tanks.Product_Or_Service: med grade gasDesired SettlementI would like my money back on my repairs, time I have missed work and the stress that this has caused me. I have had to take my vehicle back to the 2x times. second time was to get the catalytic converter replaced.wrecker fee was 40.00gas I bought was 56.02 14.369 gallonsrepair bill first time was 668.43my vehicle is still at the dealer for the replacement on the catalytic converter so I do not have my receipt for that yet.

Review: I went to this gas station as I always do for gas. I only had $9.00 as I am a single mother who was recently diagnosed wit [redacted]. A gentleman by the name of Salih came to pump my gas, I said $9.00 regular please. I looked at the pump after a minute and noticed it was up to $15.00 and change. I got out of the car and said I asked for $9.00 not $20.00. Salih immediately started yelling at me saying "you lying [redacted] you said $20.00", I said no I did not bc I only have $9.00. He kept screaming and calling me disgusting names and said he was calling the cops. I called my mother and she was bringing the $11.00 up to the station when in reality this was his mistake and not mine. He continued to talk badly about me to every person who's gas he was pumping. I was extremely embarrassed and at this point and very upset. I have used this gas station for years and I will not go back there ever again due to his behavior and how he treated me as a customer.Desired Settlement: I would like w refund and should he compensated for the embarrassment in sustained.

Review: We went to this gas station to put $20.00 worth of gas in our car. When the attendant put the nozzle in to the car, he walked away. When he came back the gas was up to $24.00. Instead of stopping it he took his time to remove the pump. My husband told him that it was going over so the attendant finally stopped it at $26.00. We told him that we only wanted $20.00. He said that it was only an extra $6.00 and that he was sure we had it and to just pay it. We refused to pay it handing him $20.00. We explained that we did not have the extra $6.00 and he said it was not his problem, that it was out problem and that we had to pay the $26.00. So we searched our pockets and paid the $6.00. Our other option would have been to just give him the $20.00 and drive away but the attendant wouldn't take the nozzle out if the car and stood at the drivers side door yelling at us. We paid it because it was a frightening experience and both my husband and I were on our way to work and can afford to be late.Desired Settlement: I personally feel that this was an intentional attempt by the attendant and he got his way not without causing frustrations, dress and fright. I think that more than a just a refund is appropriate.

Review: This BP Gas Station automatically charge my credit card an extra $1.00 for "AUTOMATED GAS DISPENSER" which I didnot authorize; I fueled $5.00 worth of gas with my credit card at this gas station and my bill shows that I am charged by this gas station for $5.00 and then a separate charge of $1.00 for "AUTOMATED GAS DISPENSER" at the same date. There is no sign or indication at the gas pump or station that there is an extra $1 charge for credit card customers. This also happened at another BP Gas Station at [redacted] and [redacted] in Brooklyn, NY. So at least 2 BP Gas Stations in Brooklyn, NY charging credit card customers an extra $1 without their notice; not sure this is the same practice for other BP Gas Stations.Desired Settlement: Stop making unauthorize charge to credit card customers immediately! Refund the $1 extra charge to my credit card as well as other credit card customers. I didnot authorize this charge!

Response:

For outside credit card purchases at BP Stations (paid at the pump), there is an automatic, Pre-Authorization of $1 sent to Card Issuer to verify it’s an active Card Account# able to make a purchase

• This is a common practice for petroleum sites where an approval for the Pre-Authorization will allow the pump to be released so that the cardholder can fuel

• For this Pre-Authorization, the Card Issuer/Bank will put a “temporary hold” of $1 on the account until the timeframe the Card Issuer/Bank releases this hold (typically a couple of days)

2) For the particular complaint example for SVB# [redacted] on 3/*, I have verified First Data’s Clientline shows only the $5 Sales Amount an no additional $1

• Therefore, this cardholder probably saw the temporary $1 Pre-Authorization hold amount placed by the Card Issuer while it was still pending

• This cardholder should now only see and been actually billed the $5 once the Card Issuer Posted the Sale and removed the temporary hold amount

If the customer was actually charged the extra $1.00 he would need to take that up with his bank. The customer’s bank may have held the pre-authorization for longer than usual – as some do.

Review: Several unauthorized charges were made to my card on 8-*-13. This is fraud. Please return the funds to my card.Desired Settlement: There's a $20 charge, along with other unauthorized charges, placed on my card ending in [redacted]. Some of the funds were returned to my card, but the $20 charge placed on my card at 1:52pm (TRANSACTION # [redacted]) was also unauthorized and was not returned to my card. Kindly return the $20 to my card ending in [redacted]. The only transaction that I made at this gas station was the gas that I bought for $31.73 around 8 or 9:30 am, on 8/*/13.

Review: On 3/28/2016 at approximately 6:45pm, I attempted to purchase a can of [redacted] with an EBT card. I was told by the same individual that I wouldn't be able to use my EBT card because the soda was only $0.75. He told me that I needed to purchase something for $1 or more if I wanted to use my card. I'm not a lawyer or anything and I don't work for Health and Human Services but, I was under the impression that EBT was as is; no taxes applied and no extra charge for swiping like there is when you use an ATM or debit card.Desired Settlement: I would just like to know, for future reference, with this business or others, if this is an allowable action. I would hate to be paying extra money when I don't have to or make a fool of myself arguing a fact I am wrong about.
