To Whom It May Concern:

In response to your correspondence dated June 17, 2015, Factual Data is a...

credit-reporting agency acting as a reseller as defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).  The information in our reports comes from the national credit reporting agencies [redacted] and other information vendors.

The correspondence we received from you on behalf of Mr. [redacted] indicates that he has concerns regarding credit scores and how Factual Data handles them.

Mr. [redacted] states that the scores that are on the Factual Data report are different than the scores he has obtained directly from the national credit reporting agencies. Factual Data does not calculate credit scores; we purchase the credit score along with the credit file directly from the credit reporting agency and the score is then put in the consumers report. There are many different scoring models and brands of scores.  The scores that Factual Data purchases are as follows:

[redacted] – Classic 04 FICO
[redacted] - Fair Isaac V2 FICO
[redacted] – Beacon 5 FICO

These score models are most commonly used by mortgage lenders.  However these are not necessarily the scores the national credit reporting agencies offer to consumers for direct purchase.   For example, some of the scores sold to consumers are the Vantage Score or another version of the FICO score such as the Plus Score.

Factual Data believes the difference in the scores Mr. [redacted] purchased from [redacted] and [redacted] are due to the difference in scoring models.

Sincerely,

Shawn E[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: For acceptance of this response would not change anything.  People are being denied fair ratings because they take those fico scores and use their formula to create a different score which hurts the person that's applying for finance, instead of reporting the score as the national reporting agency has issued. To do anything else would be unfair the same thing would occur it only take one rating score one rating source and one set of scores. In todays world its very hard to keep your credit up to par and when you get it to where it will do a person any good you do not need another barrier to detour you in a different barrel of worms to work out.One source is telling you to do one sets of things to do raise your scores and another source to do something else and when that happened you lose again. When the dust settle by using another formula takes away from what people work hard to accomplish so some changes need to be made.  just report it as the agency report it.

April 24, 2015 Revdex.com 8020 S. County Road 5 #100 Fort Collins, CO 80528 Re: Case No.: [redacted] – [redacted] To Whom It May Concern: In reference to the complaint identified by the abovementioned case number (the “Revdex.com Complaint”), Factual Data provides the following response: The Revdex.com Complaint indicated that Factual Data pulled a [redacted] report on May 22, 2014 without Ms. [redacted] authorization. In response to this complaint, Factual Data contacted its client – [redacted] (who accessed the report through our system) – to obtain a copy of Ms. [redacted] written authorizations. [redacted] provided a copy of the authorization which contained Ms. [redacted] signature authorizing the inquiry. Factual Data will mail to Ms. [redacted] a copy of the written authorization provided by [redacted]. As a follow up request Factual Data verified why Ms. [redacted] old address was used in accessing the newly authorized [redacted] pull. [redacted] stated when the authorized [redacted] report was accessed it appeared that whoever pulled the [redacted] report just updated or used the same information from the original application when Ms. [redacted] applied for her loan with [redacted] in 2004. While the addressed used, unfortunately was not updated by [redacted] the determination of being able to have the inquiry removed or not solely depends on whether or not the inquiry itself was authorized. The approval to access Ms. [redacted] was authorized as provided in the documents previously provided. In light of the authorization documentation, the inquiry of May 22, 2014 will remain on Ms. [redacted] file. Sincerely, [redacted] Senior Compliance Officer

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The dispute has not been resolved. I did not give permission for a [redacted] enquiring (on 5/23/14) for the address in [redacted]. This address is over 10 years old and is for corporate housing I lived in for 5 weeks only.  I see no reason for a hard enquiring in 2014 for a temporary address I lived in on 2004. As requested, please investigate why such an enquiry was made and without my approval, as there is no logical reason.

Re: Revdex.com Complaint
ID Number: [redacted]
Dear Mr. [redacted]:
On behalf of Factual Data, I write in response to your complaint filed on the Revdex.com’s website, which was received by Factual Data on October...

19, 2015. Specifically, you stated the following under the website’s “customer’s statement of the problem” section:
This company has 2 errors relating to a credit report preventing me from renting an apt and paying off debts. 1-[redacted] my brother and [redacted] is their bill. 2-The [redacted] bill is my mothers, she had a stroke, could not watch anymore and the company didn’t care charging her over $1000 anyway.
And, under the website’s “desired settlement,” you noted:
Correct the report. Remove those 2 items.
By way of background, Factual Data is a reseller of consumer reports and does not maintain a database of consumer information. Rather, we act as a conduit of the information passed between the three Nationwide Consumer Reporting Agencies (NCRAs) – Experian, Equifax and TransUnion – and our ultimate end-user client. Because Factual Data does not have direct access to your credit file (which is maintained by the NCRAs) and does not maintain its own database of information, to the extent a consumer requests certain changes to his/her credit report, Factual Data must pass along the requested change to the relevant NCRA, which determines whether a change to your credit report should be made.
In response to your inquiry, Factual Data reached out to you directly to verify some additional information and has submitted your request to TransUnion. Once Factual Data receives responses from TransUnion we will forward those responses directly to you at the address you provided in your complaint.
I hope this response satisfies your inquiry.
Sincerely,
Shawn E[redacted]
Senior Compliance Officer
