Just to let everyone know that this school is garbage and they're only in it for the money and when I finally realized that, I decided to withdraw my application, I was treated like cooked *** (please excuse my french), they refused to give me back my paperwork, the so called admissions guy hung up on me cause I guess he was upset when they realize that they're not getting any money from me, even the so called director was being extremely rudeI don't know how they expect me to come to a school when they can't even explain to me what the program is all about that's just ridiculous they literally sent me to three different people and no of them knew how to explain the program to me,can't answer any of my questions and eventually they set up an appointment for me to come in to watch an introductory video about the program so how do you expect me to come to your school when 0/people are able to explain a program to me or answer any of my questions

Brightwood is the worst school in Charlotte! The administrstion starting from the President down to the Program chair doesn't care but are quick to be fake to your face. As a student I have watched the Dean completely tear instructors apart and downgrade them no matter who is around. The campus president does nothing but sit in her office and when she sees students she is completely fake. I am so glad I made it out but its going down fast and the doors need to be shut. I feel for the other students and instructors. Would never recomend this place. Its ratchet!

Review: Kaplan college is using money from Veteran GI Bill leaving the Veteran in debt. Kaplan will certify our classes to the VA. The VA will pay the full cost of the class to Kaplan. Then Kaplan will go back and change the certification of the Veteran. This causes an education over payment to be paid by the veteran back to the VA, and Kaplan gets to keep the extra money that should have been paid to the veteran for their GI Bill. It a perfect bait and switch scam that is targeting a large group of veterans at Kaplan College. When we approached Kaplan they will not deal with us to correct the situation.Desired Settlement: That Kaplan stop stealing US Veteran GI Bill money and refund debts they have caused the Veteran to occur while taking our money.

Review: I attended Kaplan College from 2012 to 2013. I completed my externship and was then supposed to take my state test but I wasn't notified that the payment of one hundred dollars was required one month before testing so I missed the deadline. Because this happened I was told I'd have to pay another two hundred and twenty five dollars and then they would send a letter in the mail stating where and when I would take my test so I paid that amount but never received a letter. Since then I've gone into the school several times to speak with the program director about the issue and he gave me a phone number to call and said to be patient. I've called the number dozens of times and never once got an answer. I'm continually paying a hundred dollars a month and am eighteen thousand dollars in debt to a profession I have nothing to do with, I cannot afford this anymore and I now have no interest in proceeding with this school.Desired Settlement: I need to have my debt differed.

Review: My experience through the ADN program has been a nightmare. Policies were changed mid semesters and students were told one thing , while others were told other things. We had great teachers quit mid semester as well as others who were fired (they were the ones we actually praised the most during our schooling). I finished my ADN program in September '14 and was told we needed to comeback to the school when we received our ATT to register for the test and the school would pay for the test. I moved from California the day our schooling ended and contacted the Assistant director of nursing in Mid October to tell her that I was wondering how I would get my test and registration taken care of since I no longer lived in the state. She assured me she would work with me to register and I wouldn't have to go back to do that. I then received my ATT 2 days after the email and called her immediately to try and schedule my NCLEX. I then waited for almost a week with no response. So I went online and registered myself as well as paying for the test. I then received a call back after I had registered for my test and explained what I did only to find out that I would not get reimbursed. I was upset but told myself to just eat the 200.00 that Kaplan stated they would pay for because it was my fault to assume it would be easy to get reimbursed. I then received an email incentive from the school just days before I was to take my NCLEX stating I could receive a 250.00 gift card if I jumped through hoops taking multiple tests and remediating all the test and 1200+ extra questions before I took my NCEX as well as passing my NCLEX on the first try. It would have been impossible to do all the tests and questions and remediated all of this before my test. I took My NCLEX and passed on my first try. I emailed asking if I would still be able to participate and have not received a response to the incentive . I am just very upset to think that I am out of a possible $450.00 . I have over 50,000 in student loans and if things were explained and the incentive was put out there giving each student same amount of time and opportunity then I wouldn't be having this issue. Between all the constant changes in policies with testing and grading, as well inconsistencies.I feel like you might have more problems on your hand than just mine. I am very upset to think that I am out of pocket 200.00 for a test that everyone else had paid for by Kaplan,as well as the opportunity to get an extra 250.00 gift card that everyone else who is taking their tests weeks after me can getDesired Settlement: Honestly, If I could get the money back I would be thrilled, but seeing as how I have already made a complaint with the corporate office of Kaplan and I haven't even received a response like I was promised in the email that was automatically generated I would doubt I could get it from them still. I have spent so much money and I feel like the money was not well spent. Just a bummer I didn't look on the Revdex.com before I chose this school

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Review: I attended Kaplan College from June 2014 to March 2015. There were constant problems with getting in contact with my advisors once I got to the clinical and externship part of the program. I completed my externship in February 2015 and was supposed to take my state licensing exam in March of 2015. After repeated failed attempts to contact my advisor and find out when and where I was supposed to be, I finally got a call the week before the exam and was informed that since I didn't attend the prep/refresher courses (that I was not told about) that I couldn't take the exam in March and would have to wait until April. I tried repeatedly to get a hold of my advisor regarding the April exam and was told there would not be an exam in April and I would have to wait until May. In May I was able to get a hold of someone at the school and was told that since I didn't take the exam in March I had to pay a rescheduling fee of $30, even though it wasn't my fault I missed the March exam, I paid the $30 rescheduling fee then a week later I received a call and was told that the May exam was being cancelled and I would have to wait another month. Now we are in June and I received a phone call telling me that because they cancelled the May exam and are now using a different test provider, I have to pay an additional $60 to take the exam. Future potential students need to be aware that the school is extremely disorganized and they, the student, will have to pay for the school's disorganization and mistakes when it comes to scheduling the clinical and externship sites as well as taking the licensing exams.Desired Settlement: The school needs to be held responsible and accountable for their disorganization and mistakes. The students should not have to pay additional fees for actions the school has taken which affect the scheduling of clinical/externship sites (which caused some of my classmates to be dropped from the program) or exam dates (which affect the students potential to obtain a job)
