Brothers plumbing will contact [redacted] *** to see when a good time to have a technician come out and address any and all of his problems.12/18/11:A.M.Thank You [redacted]

Not the company to call if you need a sewer line inspectionThey apparently have one technician and one camera that does not operate consistentlyTheir technician never showed up the first time; when we called they said his camera was brokenThey rescheduled our appointment and, again, he did not show upWhen we called, the receptionist stated she'd have to call us back because she had no idea where he was or what the status wasWhen she called back, she said the camera was broken again and he would not be outVery disappointing

The business' response is meaningless and ducks the issues of fraud and incompetence The work performed was not needed and failed to repair the issue This case will never be closed and our next stop will be court

We signed a service order with Brothers Plumbing LLC for the repair of our HVAC system The technician made an unnecessary "repair" which did not fix the system We called the repairman back for a second attempt On this call the repairman damaged the wiring on one of our thermostats, but otherwise failed to repair our HVAC system
We called another company, *** Air, who dispatched a repairman *** discovered that the Brothers technician miss-set a jumper switch in the wiring block of both of the thermostats The miss-set jumper caused the heaters to run simultaneously with the air conditioner preventing any cooling Also, *** discovered a damaged wire on the upstairs thermostat which was caused by the Brothers technician All other diagnoses alleged by the Brothers technician were wrong The The repairs made by Brothers were unnecessary and in fact, none of the repairs attempted by brothers fixed anything

I am letting you know of a sales practice that Brother's Plumbing is using to increase revenues I have used them in the past and they do a good job Their service personnel are polite, professional and competent I think they are pricey but that is a different issue I recently called regarding my water heater The control modular failed and needed replacement I was told that I needed to pay a $warranty transfer fee The unit carries a six year warranty and my particular warranty expires in I called the manufacturer, Bradford White, and they told me they had never heard of a warranty transfer fee I told Brother's Plumbing that I would not pay this fee and they deducted it without an issue

Dear Sirs: Brothers has been serving the valley since 2006. Our policy is to charge by the job, not by the hour; which saves the customer money by eliminating inefficient use of the technician and customer’s time. Our trucks are stocked like moving warehouses, most companies need to leave to get...

parts; we get the job done quickly so you won't be inconvenienced. We get the customers approval before any work is started, so that our customer has the right to approve or deny the price quoted for that particular job. We also get the customer’s signature accepting the work was done to their satisfaction. We uphold a full disclosure relationship with our customers at all times and do not vary from this policy. We subscribe to a national pricing service, and based on the phoenix metropolitan area, our prices are about average. There will always be a Plumber or an HVAC technician out there that will quote you a cheaper price; however, you might not be dealing with a bonded, licensed and insured company that will stand behind their work for many years to come. Our customers can be assured that we will still be around when they have a warranty problem. These other cheaper companies also do not provide their customers with the quality and service that you will receive from Brothers. Some of the “behind the scenes” qualities of a reputable company would be both pre-placement and random drug screening, background checks, weekly training, and hiring the “cream of the crop” service technicians because they will need to be trusted in the customer’s home and they are also expected to fix your problem the first time, so that our customers are not inconvenienced by the problem not being fixed on the first visit. Our technicians respect your home at all times! Before our technicians enter a home, they will put on carpet protectors, roll out their red carpets to protect the floor covering, and leave their work area clean. Sincerely, Dan F[redacted]

I am letting you know of a sales practice that Brother's Plumbing is using to increase revenues. I have used them in the past and they do a good job. Their service personnel are polite, professional and competent. I think they are pricey but that is a different issue. I recently called regarding my water heater. The control modular failed and needed replacement. I was told that I needed to pay a $100 warranty transfer fee. The unit carries a six year warranty and my particular warranty expires in 2017. I called the manufacturer, Bradford White, and they told me they had never heard of a warranty transfer fee. I told Brother's Plumbing that I would not pay this fee and they deducted it without an issue.

Regards,

[redacted] and the Brothers team were great on the job. [redacted] was very professional and personable, he easily repaired my plumbing and provided recommendations on other work.

The company responded quickly to our request for a plumbing inspection for a pre-sale home inspection. They priced close to their oral estimate with $128.12 charge for the inspection plus a $96.88 planned service agreement. Our agent in Phoenix reported that they went through the motions of the inspection. And we received an invoice from them which reported "Everything looked really good down the sewer line. its nice and smooth. looked like ABS sewer line which is good. Did not see any problems with the sewer line." On the basis of their report we did not put any holdback provisions in the purchase and sale agreement for the property. We had tenants (the original owners) living in the property through June 2012 at which point we moved into the property. In July we noticed the kitchen sink and the toilet in the bathroom (both in the oldest section of the house) were draining slowly. We hired 3 different plumbing companies to come and clear the drains; 2 of the 3 reported pulling roots out the drain...the third company scoped the drains and were unable to get all the way to the main sewer line because of root intrusion and pipe collapse under the foundation of the house. A later inspection of the pipes found the only sections of pipe to be ABS were from the new part of the house and the guest house to the clay sewer line in the back yard. There is a large clay pipe that runs the length of the backyard to the alley which is where the connection to the city's sewer line is located. All of the pipes under the house were galvanized pipe and unpassable with the camera (see pictures), the clay sewer connection in the backyard had several root intrusions, and the guest house connection was disrupted/intruded. Brothers Plumbing missed all of these problems which were impossible to miss when it was performed in my presence. We ended up needing to re-route the pipes on the outside of the building ($15,000+ of work) and we still haven't replaced the clay pipe in the backyard which is estimated at $8,000+. We contacted Brothers in August 2012 and a [redacted] was supposed to come by and re-inspect the property. The original pipes are still under the house and the clay pipe is still in the backyard for them to scope. I spoke with Mr. [redacted] in late-August but he did not follow up on scheduling an inspection. We just filed a complaint with the Registrar of Contractors (ROC). I am hopeful that somebody from Brothers will follow up and help to fix this very unfortunate situation. It is hard to believe they have received such good comments from other customers when they really messed up so many times on our property and did not try to fix their problems or provide any sort of follow up. I have lots of photos of the work we had to undertake to fix the problems as well as the problems that Brothers Plumbing missed.

Review: Brothers was contracted to do a plumbing drain line repair job,($3,500) The workman did not have to do as much work as agreed upon, after the agreement was signed, so [redacted] agreed to reduce the cost of thejob by $600.00. I discoved that the work that had done (tearing up the flooring, and jackhammering out the slab) was unnecessary because the drain line went out the front of the house like they had been told. I immediately contacted their office and told them that I had placed a stop payment on the checks I had given them, until we got the situation resolved. Met with the owner/General Manager [redacted] at the job site this morning. He assured us that the $2,900.00 price his workman had quoted was fine, and that since it was their mistake..HE would pay for the kitchen restoration. This afternoon he called andsaid he didn't care what he worker had said he was charging the full $3,500 and would ruin my credit if I didn't honor the checks. That is coercion pure plain and simple. I am living on Social Security Disability and the rent from a couple properties, and [redacted] is a LIAR and a Crook. I am willing to pay what was agreed, but he is not to be trusted and surely not rated A by the Revdex.com. They advertise "The best under the slab leak detection", but did not have the right equipment, nor did they know how to use it, at my expense.Desired Settlement: I am more than willing to pay the proper amount as per the agreement made with the workman..$2,900.00 and what [redacted] had agreed to..but his sleazy underhanded tactic of later saying he didn't care what his workman said..he was going to get the money from Cross Check..and they would ruin my credit..is just a very poor and dishonest way of doing business. I want the $600.00 either reduced from the bill as agreed, or refunded

Response:

We at Brothers Plumbing strive to perform above and beyond service to all of our clients.

We performed all job tasks listed on the proposal at the cost of $3,500.00 and agreed to by client.

Not only a signed proposal, but 4 different checks adding up to the $3,500.00 as agreed.

After the job was completed the client wanted us to reduce the amount of the job by $600?

I myself [redacted] went out to inspect the job that was performed, and it was to my satisfaction 100% complete and correct to company standards.

the client mentioned that he will pay the amount of $2,900? I told him that I did not have the paperwork with me, and that he would be charged the amount agreed to via the contract.

We at a later date went to the clients home to have the final invoice signed. once at the property the client gabbed my technicians clipboard with the contract, and other personal, and business belongings and pulled a gun and pointed at my Technician, and told him to get off his property.

The police were involved, and the property was returned to us, and we decided not to press charges.

This was all being done to protect our client. We had already been paid by the financial institution they used to pay for the repairs.

They canceled the checks, and the financial institution would come after them for payment, and penalty fees. We were simply trying to help to avoid that for our client sake.

Not to mention: on my inspection at the clients home I agreed to pay for the reconstruction on the clients Kitchen.

install kitchen Cabinets

Concrete repairs

new tile installation

All kitchen fixtures reinstalled

Everything to get the home back to it's original condition

All of this was not included in our work scope. or price.

We did this as an addition to. In order to make our client happy.

He also used his own contractor, and we paid for the reconstruction directly to him in the amount of $400.00

Obviously this is a classic case of you cant make everybody happy no matter what you do?

I strongly suggest that any other contractors should stay clear of these individuals!

Response:

First of all the technician did not know how to use his under the slab equipment. As a result the whole interior of the kitchen was torn up needlessly. While they were jackhammerining they found a section of pipe that could be used so they did not have to complete an addional 6 feet of excavation. I asked [redacted] if they were going to reduce the bill because they did not have to do 25% of the work. He finally agreed to reduce it to $2,900. A short time later they "discovered" the fact that the existing drain line did not even go under the slab. Therefore none of the interior damage or excavation needed to be done. We had agreed to the $3500 because the technician had told us before discovering the actual line (which I had told him repeatedly that I thought went out the front, not under the slab) I contacted their office, told them we had stopped payment, and wanted to meet with either an owner or a manager. The next morning [redacted] came out..I pointed out the major error that the technicians had made, and told him that [redacted] had agreed to reduce the price. [redacted] agreed to repair the kitchen because he realized that was their fault that it had been torn up. Later he called and said he didn't care what [redacted] had said he was charging the full $3500 and if we didn't release the checks, the other company would ruin Barbara's credit. I made repeated demands for copies of the paperwork. When [redacted] finally brought it over..it was WRONG, none of the noted he had made were on it, the name was wrong on the invoice, and no one had signed it. I pointed that out, and asked why he had lied about reducing the price. He got belligerant, grabbed me and tried to take away the incorrect paperwork. Kepp in mind [redacted] is well over 6 feet and weighs over 200 lbs. I manged to get away, grabbed my cell phone..not a gun, told him to get off the property, and HE WAS GOING TO JAIL FOR ASSAULT. I promply called 911, and notified [redacted] that [redacted] had assaulted me. They in turn called the police as well, and made up the story about the gun. The police took no further action even though [redacted] was a witness, and said it boiled down to "he said-she said" Even though the work that was done was unnecessary, and extremely expensive. ( we also found out that the tenant had paid $328 for an incomplete job) we had agreed to the

$2,900 as stated by [redacted]. I am attaching the paperwork again, showing that it does not match, and was not approved. Their incompetent and sleazy methods should not be condoned.
