We have communicated to *** *** that their complaint needs to be directed to the previous owner and operator of the West Hawaii Today (*** *** Group) *** was the owner of the newspaper during the time of this particular relationship with *** ***

Aaron K***, Vice President of Circulation had a phone call with Mr*** to discuss his complaint MrK*** apologized for the aggravation and placed Mr***'s phone number on the Star-Advertisers do not call list at Mr***'s request The Star-Advertiser considers this
complaint handled and closed

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I have already been in contact with *** *** and they will not reimburse me because the payment for my website was taken by West Hawaii Today. S*e my payment was taken by West Hawaii Today, they are the ones who need to reimburse me. Honolulu Star Advertiser is the owner of West Hawaii Today which is why my claim is directed to them. If *** *** had taken the payment for my website, I would have made a Revdex.com complaint against them. This back and forth with West Hawaii Today and Honolulu Star Advertiser has been going on for many months and they keep giving me the run around and giving me a very hard time in the hope that I will just give up. I will never give up, because West Hawaii Today/Honolulu Star Advertiser are at fault and I deserve my money back. It is shameful that they behave this way. Just because they are a large business they feel that they can get away with this behavior. It is even worse because I was a good customer who paid them a lot of money and they still treat me this way and refuse to take responsibility. Honolulu Star Advertiser and West Hawaii Today are also negligent because they never informed me that they were taking away my contractual right to make changes to my website and every time I contacted Honolulu Star Advertiser they didn't know anything about the website that I was paying them for. After contacting Honolulu Star Advertiser multiple times over the course of a YEAR, I FINALLY got a hold of someone who told me that Honolulu Star Advertiser would not make the changes I needed for my website. They are negligent and refuse to honor my contractual agreement and therefore they need to reimburse me
Sincerely,
*** ***

I'm so sorryI have been out on medical leaveI have placed this customers phone number on our internal DNC list with our customer service vendorThere should be no further calls to this number. I apologize for the delayed responseThank you

I have attached multiple hosting fee bills for my website that I paid directly to ***/Honolulu Star Advertiser after they purchased West Hawaii Today. I also attached some of my credit card bills that reflect some of the hosting fee charges West Hawaii Today charged me before ***/Honolulu Star Advertiser purchased them. I have all the rest of the credit card bills as well if you need them. At no time did I ever pay anything to Stevens *** or *** ***. All payments I made for the creation and hosting of my website throughout its existence were paid to either West Hawaii Today or ***/Honolulu Star Advertiser

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
When Oahu
Publication, ***/Honolulu Star Advertiser purchased West Hawaii Today, they
transferred my website away from *** *** and over to ***/Honolulu Star
AdvertiserI was never consulted about
the transfer and had no choice in the matter.
If I knew that ***/HSA would not honor my contract and if I had a choice
to stay with Stephen’s *** I obviously would have done that and would not be
having all these problems now. I mean
SOMEONE at ***/HSA/WHT should have let me know they were taking away my
contractual rights before they took my website and transferred it to ***/HSA
and they are totally negligent and liable for not doing so. The transfer of my website was part of
***/HSA’s purchase of West Hawaii Today.
I was never even informed that ***/HSA was purchasing WHT. I had to hear it on the news. I also paid ***/Honolulu Star Advertiser for
a year to host my website and they billed me monthly for the hosting. This clearly shows that ***/HSA took over
responsibility for my website and that my website became one of the assets and
liabilities of West Hawaii Today.
Neither West Hawaii Today nor ***/Honolulu Star Advertiser ever notified
me that my website was not part of the West Hawaii Today purchase and, in fact,
continued to act like it was part of their purchase by hosting my website for a
year and receiving my payments for the hosting fee. I paid the money for the creation of my
website directly to West Hawaii Today and I have credit card charge statements
to prove it. As I have already stated,
s*e I paid the money to West Hawaii Today I need to be reimbursed by West
Hawaii Today. If Honolulu Star
Advertiser feels that there is some kind of problem then after they reimburse
me they can go directly to *** *** and bring that issue up with
them. That is not my problem nor is it
my responsibility. That is between
Honolulu Star Advertiser and *** ***.
I have attached a fully executed contract which took me some time to
retrieve from my document storage. The
contract I attached before was what I had available on my computer and was sent
to expedite this matter. WHT has a fully
executed contract and I’m sure Honolulu Star Advertiser has seen it, so for
them to infer there was no fully executed contract is just more deceit on their
part and shows even more clearly how they behave unethically
Sincerely,
*** ***

Revdex.com:
The company e-mailed me and stated that they will not bill me as I never requested the newspapers. I consider the issue resolved. Thank you for your assistance in resolving this very frustrating issue
Sincerely,
*** ***

The customer's payment was inadvertently posted to their subscription account rather than their advertising account and therefore the ad was not released.  We have apologized profusely to the customer for the mishap and offered both a refund in full and a future advertising credit for the...

I am rejecting this response because:  I never had a subscription with Honolulu Advertiser.  Therefore I do not know what subscription account they are talking about.

We will rerun his legal name change notice at no charge showing his name as lowercase (even though this makes no difference according to the Lt. Gov’s office).  However will not be refunding any monies since the published name change will still be within the 60 day window. We now consider this...

My frustration with the Star-Advertiser was their telemarketing.  When someone says, take me off your call list, that means TAKE ME OFF YOUR CALL LIST! The fact that after explaining my Mom had passed away and I got another call was insensitive. Joe C[redacted] from their customer service did e-mail...

me an apology and I accept that. I wasn't looking for compensation on my part, but when the telemarketer is out of control and phoning solicitations just to make a sale, We have a problem! Train those people.....

Our relationship with this client ended in March of 2016 at their request. We also refunded the client six months of hosting fees via check in the amount of $338.39 and also extended them a complimentary tile on our website for one month at a value of approximately $350.00.Again, we consider this matter closed and rectified.  Aaron K[redacted], VP, Circulation

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is "CONDTIONALLY" satisfactory to me based on the accompanying verifications.1) I am in touch with [redacted] @ the Lt. Gov. Office who is assisting me. If the correction and the affidavit proofing the correction are accepted and meet the timelines and there are no further complications I can accept this offer2) I disagree with the statement that ALL CAPITAL([redacted]) vs. Upper and Lower case makes no difference.[If it makes no difference why would the Lt. Gov. Office correct my document?] I am a FEDERAL COURT CLERK and believe me it does make a difference. I have plenty of legal background to support this claim and it is the sole reason foundation of my name change. 3) I reserve all rights to continue this complaint at another time if any other complication or reason arising from this matter. UCC 1-308  Without Prejudice
Sincerely,
