This bank has a small group of people in Alabama who make all the decision so whatever relationship you build with the branch manager/employees means nothingThe back office will never talk with you and does not respect years of relationshipAnytime you mention anything they just mention regulationThey discriminate base on your place of birth or country of originI totally recommend against them

Right now this bank will get They my account times for my credit card, both accounts are with them , now my account is negative and they are charging me overdrafts fees I cald then and they said they will refund my momney and it will take them to days So now I cant touch my money in that account because of a mistake that they did and it did not take to days to take it out of my account it took day or less, now do I get any extra money of them holding my moneyThey said no, really? But they are charging me overdraft fees on there mistake

Extremely positive experience and highly recommend Budget glass! welcoming reception, honest quotes, quick service Very helpful overall and highly recommend

BBVA Compass is only worried about the bottom dollarThey will do anything they can to screw the customer and charge NSF fees regardless of the time the deposits are madeWhen calling the bank they are not helpful and do not care about the consumer or the financial situation that was caused by their feesNotifications do not come out on time about NSF fees and therefore a customer cannot manage their account properlyI would not recommend this company to anyone

I am a Realtor and had recent experience with BBVA The communication was extremely bad and efficiency was poor Attempts to email, call, text the Loan Officer was at times of no use and it almost caused my customer to lose her home in a foreclosure sale
They apparently have a 100% loan product that in the end was an extreme aid to my customer, but the amount of hoops and last minute requests made for a horrible experience I noted that if this product is such a hassle that it should not be offered There was no one to defer to when the loan officer was out of the office and there was apparent friction between the processor and the loan officer as well
My customer had to call the Community Manager in Texas in order to help her close This was absolutely one of the worst experiences for both myself and my customer I will not ever bother to refer or work with another representative from this bank

I handle all the banking for a business that uses BBVA and it is hands down the worst bank I have ever had to do business with Online banking is a pain to use, especially when you need to search for transactions Good luck finding something outside of days Also, we opened a credit card with a "$limit" which turned out to actually be a $purchase limit and a $cash advance limitSeriously? Found that out the hard wayCard balance was at $ so we received a $over the limit fee plus the finance charge so the payment only actually reduced the amount owed by less than $which caused another over the limit fee the next month and another over the limit fee the nextLesson learned, pay closer attention to your statements instead of just writing a check for the payment dueAnd lastly, wouldn't it make sense that since the checking account is with BBVA & the credit card is with BBVA that I could simply login into the account and pay the credit card online through the checking account - NOPE Apparently it doesn't work that way Customer service says it's a "glitch" and that I need to use a different online account if I want to see all the credit card information It's BBVA please try to catch up with the rest of the world

Customer service is unheard of at BBVA auto loansIt usually takes me minutes on the phone to make a telephone paymentYou cannot make a payment on their site unless you have a BBVA checking account to what I find very silly in the day and ageI was disconnected twice, and it took me two days to make my payment, TWO days!!!!!

TerribleTried to open a money market accountNothing workedNo one was able to help meWorst experience I've ever had with a bank

I with under contract with a customer of BBVA for the sale of my home on February The set the closing date of March 21, week before closing receive email that is was still in underwriting and will be at least weeksWeeks past with no communications, finally receive something on March that it will be ready by April We set on new closing date for April On April received an email from the closing attorney office that it was tentatively to close on April I have never heard of a big bank operating this wayCommunications has been vague at best and not to mention the money it is cost me and other in this one transactionI work in a company with people and I have told everyone that this is not the bank for you

The worst banking experience I have ever had, your customer service reps are...no nice way to say it other than incompetent. I can't access my funds without my card that was lost and it takes 7-10 business days to receive a new one. I cant access my funds directly with the bank. How have you stayed in business 53 years? there should be a federal inquiry into your practices at least or standards of banking that you obviously don't follow, the great thing is I was pushed to find another bank and thankfully all their reps speak English and don't have a call center in another country. If anyone outside of the bank reads this STAY AWAY!

your customer service is the worst. I have held 1.5 hours to try to solve a problem customer service assured me was handled 27 days ago. Your agents speak broken English, did not help me with my problem and transferred me to another representive which transferred me again to be put back on hold.

For over a week now, I have been trying to pay bills on line, message keeps coming up none
on file, I called the bank on hold for 45 mins got someone finally they hung up on me, then
I called back late customer rep says they are having trouble with this problem, call back later its still like this a week later. I am fed up I want to get away from this bank, customer service is horrible and their site leaves a lot to be desired.

This bank has quickly become the biggest joke on the planet. 3 times within 1 year my account has been compromised and I have had numerous fraudulent charges. One happened back in the March/April timeframe. I was given the credit back as they were NOT charges I authorized. Here it is the middle of September and I check my account and they have taken back the money that they awarded me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I call the bank as I am clearly upset. After speaking to three people including a "supervisor" named Jose, I was told they have no idea why they decided after all this time to not honor the credit. There are NO notes on the account, no reasoning, nothing. And of course now I have to wait until Monday when the investigator will be working.

Customer service is piss poor. Nobody there has a clue as to what is going on. Apparently they can at whim decide to change their mind and take money from your account. One customer service rep (term used very loosely) told me to "Stop using my debit card and go buy a prepaid Visa because my money isn't safe." WOW.

I have been with Compass for a very long time. 15+ years to be exact. I have never experienced a company with less regard for my time, money, and loyalty. I am a single mom who works VERY hard for every penny I earn. To just randomly take $500 out of my account is WRONG. To not have any answers as to why is WRONG.

I am contacting an attorney and filing a police report because I believe their business practices are beyond disgusting. This is my money and my life they are messing with. I did NOT authorize ANY of those fraudulent charges. I am scared this could happen again for my recent account hacking to the tune of $3000.

I will be pulling every dime out of Compass and transferring to a bank with some standards. I am beyond upset and completely annoyed that this is how they treat their customers. Shame on you, Compass, for behaving in this manner.

I recently went to withdraw money from my joint checking account which I opened almost ten years ago when Compass Bank had all free checking. When I spoke to the teller I found out I was missing over $400! Since this was a dormant account we had as a backup it was inactive and we were no longer receiving statements. Except that apparently Compass bank felt it was appropriate to not only update their rules and regulations once I married my wife and she changed her name. They made us sign a paper letting them take advantage of us and our money. So they now started taking "service fees" out of my account, yet still no statements....
If fees are being taken, that is activity, therefore I should've been receiving statements and I would've known my money was being taken! But instead they quietly stole it from me, and when I questioned it, I was told too bad...
Thank you Compass Bank, from a long time customer, who used,to be happy.... I can no longer trust you, and will never be a customer of yours again. And the money I lost was supposed to pay for pictures of my two year old girl so I can send them to,my family out of state which never get to see her. Yep! Good feelings all around!

Customer service is a joke. My credit report has me paying them almost twice my monthly income on a debt that was my husband's business debt and was discharged in bankruptcy several years ago.

Chat online referred me to card service #, had to keep repeatedly pushing 0 and # as I didn't have a credit card number to enter. Card service rep told me I had to send an email to "back office." "Back office" responds to email by telling me an inquiry has been forwarded to Bankcard Department but for a specific inquiry call card service # that I called previously.

Don't appreciate the embarrassment of having credit denied due to an error and then having the company that made the error make it so difficult to even contact a human being for help.

Horrible customer service

This bank has a small group of people in Alabama who make all the decision so whatever relationship you build with the branch manager/employees means nothing. The back office will never talk with you and does not respect years of relationship. Anytime you mention anything they just mention regulation. They discriminate base on your place of birth or country of origin. I totally recommend against them.

I financed a car thru BBVA and had a total loss. My insurance and Gap insurance made payments but there was a complete diconnect from total loss department and loan department. My credit was ruined because these departments were not aware that paymntes were made, it didnt matter how much I expalined their attitude (loan) was unflexible) I will never use this bank again

I was negative on my account. When I tried to pay it back they would not take my payment. They wanted me to pay it in full. I told them that I couldn't pay it in full and they still didn't take my payment. They then went on to tell me that If I didn't pay it in full they would continue to charge me $25 every 7-10 days. I then asked them to cash my check if they didn't want the payment and they told me they couldn't because they know that I'm negative. So they wont accept my payment and they wont cash my check and they're increasing my debt every 7-10 days. On top of this the people at the call center, the tellers, and the bank officers ALL told me different things. I was told by the bank officers that the 25 dollars would only be charged twice. Then the tellers told me it would be every 7-10 days even though I was making payments - Which they didn't want to accept, then the call center told me I would be able to make payments on it If I wanted to. ALL different answers.

I made a play by play of my journey towards trying to close my account with BBVA after 5yrs of service:

8/27 tried to close my account, was told I need to have a 0 balance. They kindly offered to keep my ~$2k that was in there to make my life easier. I declined

9/6 Zeroed out my account and paid off all auto-debit accounts; one still went through for $15, so I overdrafted and had to pay a $7 fee.

9/18 I paid off the bill and overdraft fee, back to zero. About to close account. Can't get through to customer service line.

9/20 BBVA (without notifying me) made a $200 "debit adjustment" to my account. This caused an overdraft again, I have to pay another $7. I called to figure out what the adjustment is and after being on hold for 30min, "lost connection" with representative.

9/21 I call again to try and figure out what this debit adjustment is, it's because a check was deposited twice back in June and they didn't catch it til now. I called to try and pay off my account and close it out, "lost connection" again. Gave up.

Update: 9/26 after finally making the appropriate transfers, my account has a 0 balance and I am notified the account is closed! Hurray! Then I get home and there's a letter from a collection agency (that works for BBVA) saying I owe them $23 for a withdrawal from an account that doesn't exist anymore! Now THAT is some next level trickery BBVA, good job. You win. I officially give up on life. Take my money, and my house, and my first born child.
