Company promised me the world to get me to sign a contract. They started the work a month after the agreed upon contractual completion date. Given it was a leaking roof repair, we needed it fixed asap before more damage occurred. We were pushed into paying for the job up front so I could not even switch contractors to avoid taking on more damage.(Which happened)
They ended up tearing off my roof to find out they don't have shingles to match my house! They covered the roof in ice\water shield and left without knowing when they will even have shingles. Next day we had a wind\rain storm and all the ice\water shield was ripped off. I had to take the day off work so they could attempt to stop more rain damage. Finally 5 days later shingles show up and are delivered down the street to the wrong home and contractor could not find them. Lost another day because of this.
Had they completed the job in the time period promised none of this would have been an issue.
It was also in my contract to replace all the flashing which they did not do. We are patiently waiting for the roof to leak again.
Given all the issues listed above, I was told by Todd that I would be receiving a $500 refund for the incomplete work and errors on their part. I was promised this in November and I have still yet to receive it. I've called and emailed number times and Todd refuses to take my call. My salesperson, Dan, also said he'd take care this and never has. I've been nothing but professional with this company, but they do not treat their customers with respect nor dignity. If they would honor their contracts commitments and promises to customers I would feel differently.

Buffalo Roofing Company Response • Feb 21, 2020

We contacted *** today 2/20/20 at 3:15PM regarding the issue and will be giving him his $500 payment tomorrow. We have mutually agreed on a time and place to give him his payment.

Confirming that *** stopped into our office at *** at 12:10PM on 2/21/20 to pick up his $500 payment that he was paid in full.

The contract was written and signed in march 2018. As of march 2019, nothing was completed. The contract is written for competition within 90 days. A lawyer was contacted and a letter was sent to buffalo roofing regarding the absence of work completed. Buffalo roofing came and did a tear off and put on new plywood and other materials. Buffalo roofing recieved half of contract price at signing of contract and a quarter of contract cost once the roof was started. The roof has still not been completed and 3/4 of contract has been paid. Buffalo roofing has not returned any phone calls.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted]

In August, Buffalo Roofing company was doing work on my next door neighbors roof. When one of the residents of my home got home at 4:30pm he pulled into the driveway. After he pulled into the driveway one of the workers told him be careful they had not cleaned up the nails but they will clean then up. There were many nails in my driveway. I got home at 6pm and did not enter the driveway via suggestion of the other resident. There was nothing indicating there was an issue with nails in the driveway. At 6pm there were still nails in the driveway. Eventually the nails "were cleaned up". The next morning I found 3 nails in the driveway and 14 nails in my grass that my dog uses to go to the bathroom. This could have easily injured my dog if I had not noticed and spent time picking through the grass trying to find them all. The next day there was also a nail in our car tire from the nails not cleaned up the previous day. The nail was in a location that could not be patched and required the resident to purchase a new tire for $170. We were informed who to call and he would take care of it. We contacted him and he got back to us in a timely manner and told us to send him the bill and he would send us a check for the cost of the tire since it was the workers fault for not cleaning up the nails. We texted him the bill and have not heard from him since. We have attempted to call and text for updates multiple times since August and he will not respond to any of our contact.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Please let me know if the business needs any information on my part about where to mail the check.

RevDex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The response provided by Buffalo Roofing is, to put it mildly, misleading. Here is some clarification. Buffalo Roofing: “We contacted client yesterday and let them know we were installing the roof as soon as we had a clear forecast ” Clarification: This is, in plain English, a lie. Buffalo Roofing claims they contacted me on 10/25, but they did not. If they had, I would not have submitted by BBB complaint on 10/26. I submitted my BBB complaint at about 9a. I left a voicemail (because I again was unable to reach a person) at about 12p to cancel the job/contract. Buffalo Roofing showed up at my home without any notice at about 5p to deliver materials. I declined delivery of the materials, which the delivery person challenged. When I indicated that I had cancelled the contract earlier that day, I was provided a phone number directly to a person named Todd, who confirmed and accepted my cancellation. Buffalo Roofing: “The weather continuously dictates our schedules and can postpone projects and often does in WNY”. Clarification: I completely understand that weather dictates their schedule for roofing jobs and that the weather forecast changes frequently in this area this time of year. The weather does NOT dictate their ability to communicate with their customers. I had left several messages over the prior couple weeks, simply requesting any sort of status or estimate for start date. To provide context for my point of view, I signed a contract with Buffalo Roofing on 9/15. My 50% down payment of $1000 (not a “small material deposit”, as they describe in their response) was cashed about 1 week later (9/22). At 2 weeks after my deposit check was cashed and 3 weeks after signing of the contract, I still had no contact from Buffalo Roofing. I let another week pass, understanding that weather was probably delaying multiple jobs. Then I tried to contact Buffalo Roofing every few days for the following 2 weeks, but no response whatsoever. Then I reviewed Buffalo Roofing on BBB and found an “F” rating with BBB published details indicating that Buffalo Roofing did not renew their business license(s) with Erie county, but did not yet file my complaint I allowed a couple more days for Buffalo Roofing to contact me. When I tried calling the morning of 10/25 (or maybe 10/26), the primary phone number Buffalo Roofing publishes for all their advertisement was “no longer in service” (automated message from the phone company). This was when I finally submitted the BBB complaint. Now to be fair to Buffalo Roofing, they (Todd) did accept my cancellation and indicated that I would receive a check in refund of my deposit in about a week. If/when I receive the return funds, I will consider this dispute closed to my satisfaction.Regards, [redacted]

Absolutely loved this company and the amazing work they did on my home. Would absolutely recommend to my family and friends!

Very happy with our new roof! We worked directly with Todd & he was super helpful & made sure we received the highest quality service & product. Thank you!

Thank you very much. We really appreciate your business!

we hired Buffalo Roofing beginning of April 2019 for our complete tear off insurance claim. We were given a 6-8wk time frame for the job to start. Once the 6-8wk time frame was exceeded by double the amount of time I started calling to find out when the job would start as they were already given HALF of the insurance money in April when the contract was made. I had to call THREE times complaining before anyone came out here. The job was not started until mid-July. Day one the crew arrived.....it was NOT Buffalo Roofing, they out sourced our insurance claim job to some company from Rochester, NY they have never used before (*). The crew did an awful job. They brought toddlers to the job site. One of the workers was caught urinating on the side of our garage. We had to spend 3 hours cleaning up after them......nails, debris, food, garbage and cigarette butts all over my property. They never tarped the house properly so we had damage to our siding, gate, our dormers were mangled w metal hanging off and an upper floor storm window with big scratches. our neighbor also had damage to her living room screen due to negligent workers. our entire brand new AC unit was covered in metal and debris as well. The roof itself looks 5 years old already. Lifted/curled shingles. drip edges not secured. fireplace chimney secured improperly and leaning and not sealed at the base. we have nails sticking out and showing from the drip edges. The job was left this way and was considered "complete" after 22hrs. Buffalo Roofing then sent a few workers from their actual company after our many complaints. Buffalo Roofing further damaged our home in an attempt to "fix" the problems. The metal that was left hanging on our dormers was just ripped right off and left that way with wood now exposed to the elements. they attempted fixing our siding with a power washer and further damaged the aluminum siding and the driveway where the washer was "tested". When asked what compensation would be given because of our damaged siding we were then insulted and told " no compensation will be given because it is old and crappy looking anyways". chimney was STILL not fixed even after asking about it FOUR times!! the attempt to fix the uneven shingles that stick out slightly from the drip edges were butchered even more so and are now flush w the house exposing metal, which can potentially create water/ice issues for us. the whole roof in its entirety looks like a bunch a small puzzle pieces slapped together. nothing is uniform, nothing flows nicely. Part of our claim also included some repairs to our garage roof which was NEVER addressed or touched.

We sincerely apologize for your experience and we want you to know that we’re extremely upset as well. Out of the hundreds of roofs we complete every year, on rare occasion something like this happens. As we have expressed to you, our job is not done until everything is installed properly, and all issues have been re-mediated. We stand firm on this commitment to you and all our customers. In addition, our work is warranted for many years to come.

Our company policy, which all sub crews are mandated to read and sign, clearly states our workmanship and conduct requirements. These were not followed. In such an event, the situation is elevated to management who unceasingly strives to make things right for our valued customer.

It is our sincere wish to be allowed to continue our work, under top management supervision, until all issues have been corrected professionally and courteously. We stand committed to our customers in every way.

We stand ready to correct this situation with our top crew and management firmly committed to finishing this project to our mutual high standards. We fervently hope you will take us up on our offer to make you our #1 priority.

Buffalo Roofing installed a new roof on my property in 2016. Given the relatively new construction, the roof is under warranty for any repairs.

However, early 2018 I started seeing water damage and mold caused by the leak in the roof. The leak in the roof is due to improper flashing at the junction where the roof meets the chimney. The leak initially started of small and was most likely caused by snow and ice on the roof.

Due to the leak, I've had water damage to the house where the drywall has caught black mold and had to be stripped out.

Buffalo Roofing did come out in the spring of 2018 to try an correct this issue. Their technicians raised shingles to divert water away from the location and put some sort of rubberized cement. However, given a dry summer, we did not see much water leaking.

Once winter came, we started seeing the same problems with increased water leakage due to snow and ice. I have called the problem in for the last 4 months on a weekly basis, while being told that the work orders are there. I had one person come out and take a look three months ago and no follow since. I have emailed pictures of the damage to Buffalo Roofing as well.

Buffalo Roofing Company Response • Jun 06, 2019

We have contacted our customer on several occasions and re-inspected the roofing work. Our technicians believe the leak is not from the roof. We are working with the customer towards a mutually agreeable solution.

Park Meadow Condominium in West Seneca had a tornado in October 2018. Buffalo Roofing still hasn't fixed the flashing hanging off the roof, nor completed the dormer. It looks like crap.

Buffalo Roofing Company Response • Apr 04, 2019

This is all insurance work. The initial insurance estimate for the dormer was several orders of magnitude lower than the cost of the work. There were also no structural plans to reference and the dormer is a structural building component. Therefore, we were required to employ a structural engineer to draw up new plans, coordinate with the city building department and finally, just last week receive approval from the insurance company to proceed. This has required many man-hours of work to get to this point where we can finally proceed with the project. The delay was required to a) ensure our customer received fair compensation for the work, avoiding unforeseen expense and more importantly b) ensure the finished product was safe for their tenants.

We have contacted this customer and are working on an agreeable solutionThe product in question was not a "cheaper" product, it was a substituted product that was used based on product availability at the time of the installationWe have a lifetime labor warranty and stand behind the product and
installation

Buffalo Roofing Company apologizes for the delay in refunding this customer his deposit, there are no excusesWe will continue to provide excellent service for all our clients The refund was delivered today (August 10, 2015) to the customer Thank you

Revdex.com received the following message from Brian at business:We spoke with the customer yesterdayOur service manager, Nate, is going to reach out to him and schedule an appointment to resolve a few of the issues brought upWe are also going to be paying him for a window he replaced himself

RevDex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
This letter is to inform you that after writing to you my letter of October 13, 2015; Buffalo Roofing returned to my property at *** *** Parkway and did complete the necessary repairs to my house.I am completely satisfied with the repairs and that I no longer have a problem with their service.Sincerely,*** ***

We have spoken with Ms*** and apologized for the lack of employees return phone calls or responding to a service call She has agreed to allow us to correct the issueOur service manager is in the process of coordinating a date and time to repair the issue As always we encourage
all customers to contact us at ###-###-#### if any employee is not returning calls promptly

We were contracted to do a large renovation for $85, was the agreed purchase price (not $50,000.) As consumer has listed in her complaintThe job consisted of several trades, demolition , re-building and new building of an addition, custom decking, railings, metal roof, foundation work,
siding, gutters, windows, carpentry, drywall, painting, soffit, fascias, vaulted ceilings and moreA job with this many trades, special orders, schedules, and logistics takes timeThere are many variables that takes a lot of coordinating and schedules vary especially with so many projects and trades built into one projectWhile on the project the consumer also made several changes to designs and the build which challenged the productions and also set us back on schedulesAlso the client does not a have a cell phone nor did she furnish an email which made communications minimal and difficult to maintainAt the end of the day these types of projects can take several months to accomplish and when we were approximately 90% done the client would not return any calls for finalizing decisions on the finish work and sends a letter that she fired us? We are out a lot of time and money on this project and will look into the next steps to re-coup our losses

We have spoken with Ms*** and apologized for our communication breakdownThe customer has agreed to let us investigate and resolve the original concernWe will then discuss the additional work and sign a new contract as needed Our service manager will be handling this customerWe
always encourage our customers to contact our office if one of our employees is not responding in a timely mannerOur main number is ***

Thank you for your business!

Last year, had 2 roofs replaced by Buffalo Roofing. Surprisingly, it only took a couple of days for each project, 1 home being 4000 sq ft and the other approx 3000 sq ft. The work was solid. No issues thus far. Weather can definately delay projects, however, once it's done, you will be glad you decided to use this company.
