Business Website Developers Reviews (%countItem)

I enjoyed working with BWD on my site and they made every change that was requested! Great work over there. keep it up!

I wish I would have read these reviews before.
Unbelievable! Talk about taking your money and running with it!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Sales call advertised guaranteed success in my industry (real estate), did not explain that metric for success was placement on non-US websites.
The sales call emphasized guaranteed success in lead conversion for the real estate industry, by creating custom landing pages to capture *** searches and forward them to my website. For this, they charged $3,651 for six months. The sales rep did not explain that success would be measured by first page placements on 17 different global search engines. Less than 7% were on ***, about 4% on ***, ***, and *** combined, while the rest were on non-US search engines. As in most real estate markets, my customers are almost 100% US-based, and I do not expect any business from abroad, so this approach seems disingenuous, to say the least.
Furthermore, the landing pages were amateurish at best, with typos, misspelled words, mismatched colors and fonts.
I have seen no increase in website traffic, and no calls or emails that can be attributed to this service. I believe it is a borderline scam - a service that technically meets its contractual obligations, while grossly failing to meet the expectations outlined in its sales pitch.
Their customer service manager also described the Revdex.com as a scam, which tries to get companies with bad reviews to pay to have them removed.

Desired Outcome

I would be satisfied with a 50% refund, of $1,825. The organization did some actual work, and met its obligations in a technical sense, but the sales call was entirely misleading, unethical, and unprofessional.

Currently, over half of your keyphrases are ranking on the first page with many others in better positions than they were last week.

The content on the site we built for you has gone through both our editor as well as ***. If you feel like there are any grammatical errors, we would be happy to fix them for you.

As for the colors and fonts, our build is meant to be the funnel to your site, so assets and colors we use match what's there so there isn't any shock from visitors clicking over from one site to the next.

Customer Response • Mar 27, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
These points do not respond to my complaint at all. The numbers for first-page rankings are misleading and based on rarely-used search engines. Claiming to use a free online tool like *** to check spelling is not very inspiring after charging $3,600 for a service. The look and feel of the webpage is so different from our business site, and so amateurish, that, along with the halting language the sites created clearly look like a scam. If I were a consumer and found myself the sites created for my business by Business Website Developers, I would immediately close the window and hope my computer had not been infected by a virus. They look like scam websites. This business model does not work my my industry (real estate), and I am still quite insistent that the sales call was unprofessional and dishonest, as is the metric of first-page placements to test success.

Business Website Developers Response • Apr 06, 2020

The search engines see a lot of use, but ***, ***, and *** are most definitely popular and in use.

While *** is a free tool, they also have a paid edition which is what we use. This, on top of the aforementioned human editor, is meant to cut out as many issues as possible.

The design of the campaign site was entirely based off of your business site. The part that differs is where our content is which is required to get you the placements that we've gotten for you so far which total up to 8365 since the time your campaign started.

Customer Response • Apr 07, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My proposed resolution is a 50% refund. I believe this presents a balanced response to an organization that did in fact do some versions of what it promised, but made an extremely misleading and irresponsible sales pitch.

Business Website Developers Response • Apr 09, 2020

Unfortunately, we can't issue a refund, but we could issue a 6 month extension on your campaign time.

Customer Response • Apr 10, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Thank you for the offer, but that is unfortunately not helpful. The campaign has resulted in zero phone calls, no increase in website traffic, and a total of three spam emails. Extending it six months is not likely to lead to any success. A 50% refund will satisfy my complaint, and show evidence of good faith and an intent to improve your sales message and real results.

Business Website Developers Response • Apr 20, 2020

As we've already gone through the process of getting the site built through customer service representatives, designers, writers, and SEO techs, we can't offer you a refund of any percentage. If there's anything else we can help you with such as a design update, content update, etc, please contact our customer service reps and we'll be happy to help!

Company did not provide what they stated. Then no contact from them.
I was contacted by this company in September and was told they could move my *** add above my two competitors. I received multiple emails from this company, mainly from Christine ***. They stated my *** business account will be shown above competitors within a few week. After complaining it was not showing they told me they do not do that. I asked to speak to the original person I talk to and they confirmed it would happen.
I was told after paying $2995 that now they could not work with my current website and would have to do another one. I was not happy at that time. Nothing was stated that they could not accommodate my current site. My *** account never moved up as stated in emails and then they never returned calls.

Desired Outcome

full refund of $2995 and the extra website they made taken down.

Business Website Developers Response • Mar 12, 2020

Ever since your campaign build with us has been up til now, we've built up 2802 first page placements for you for the keyphrases you selected. Whereas your guarantee was 520.

Even though you have refused renewal of your campaign, the site would have remained up for a few weeks more to give more exposure.

From September, you've been contacted:

9 times in September
8 times in October
7 times in December

Multiple attempts to reach you we were met with your voicemail box telling us it was full. This also does not include email correspondence.

While we cannot issue a refund, please send an email or contact customer service so we can verify that it is actually you before we take the campaign site down.

Customer Response • Mar 25, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Company did not provide the service that they stated to me and in email. This was a complete scam. I want a refund.

Business Website Developers Response • Mar 26, 2020

We've completed the work and provided contact and results so we can't process a refund.

Your sites are still up even after your campaign expiration date which was 15 days ago. For the sake of security, if you would like your campaign site taken down, please email or call in to our customer service dept.

oh god if I could give this company no stars I would. Terrible! They called me to update me on the service, when I mentioned I wasn't getting any hits, The person I was speaking with immediately became rude and condescending. Instead of trying or attempting to pacify the situation the way a customer service agent should, he completely insulted me. I am appalled I spent $3,000 on a service that not only doesn't work but then to give my hard earned money to someone for them speak to in such a manner, is not my idea of fun or professional. When I asked for his name he pretended the service was poor and hung up on me. Definitely not doing business with this company again and neither should you. Save yourself the $3,000. I should have known when they pressured me into the sale by only giving me a few hours to give them a yes or no, and then told me not to discuss pricing with the referral I asked for.

I would like a refund in regards to SEO marketing from Business Website Developers along with the $600 left from my website dispute of $1,400.

I am writing you today about my side of my dispute situation.

When I first received a call from a representative working with BWD I was actually nervous about the whole situation. As the call went on, Robert *** (direct # ***) was assuring me that others in my same business, Digital income systems had hired them for seo and website design and had made thousands and thousands of dollars. The conversation with him went on for an hour in which then I caved but only with a money back guarantee and that I was hiring to have people do this for me because I knew nothing of seo and website design or even how to maintain a website.
Robert had stated to me that this was for seo and a website design.
Then I was transferred to Deborah *** (contact person for all areas), she has never got back to me after several attempts to cancel and call fraud out on this company. It's like she is totally avoiding the situation.
I set up appt with Will *** in website development who always said one thing and did another. wanted to keep charging me for changes to the website (which was never said in the contract) and told me that I was the administrator to my website but I could only make limited changes. WHAT??? I just bought it and I can't control it?? ***.
My appt with Shannon *** for SEO (the largest part of the charge) contacted 2 times by email (last time was May 31st) and by phone (June 26th) in which after that I called back and emailed back a request for cancel from her as well with no response!! Both Deborah and Shannon ignored my pleas and requests so that I would be stuck. Both of them knowing the website side of things with this deal was not working out and I won my dispute with *** for the website charge of $1,400 (just on that card)
So they are now just playing a game knowing the SEO side of my deal will be worthless unless my website is working. They also know I know nothing about website changes so they are soaking in the $2,795 that they scammed me out of.
I never received my monthly calls from Shannon to change keywords, maintain maximum exposure and whatever other changes I needed. Shannon is the one that I was supposed to have the most communication with and never kept in contact. Deborah was supposed to be my liaison and keep me updated and or I was supposed to contact her with concerns. I kept up my end with contacting my concerns but she did not ever get back to me. They all had dropped communication as soon as I received my money (only $1,400 - still owe me $600) back from the "waste of time & money" website deal and sit there silent knowing I want my $2,795 that they scammed me out of! This company is one huge fraud! I wish I could sent supporting documents but when I asked for them after I paid, they never would send to me!!

Desired Outcome

I want the full $2,795 that I asked for as a refund on July 24th. Any or all SEO marketing that was happening during the beginning of this fascicle could not have been working because the website that website development dept was supposed to have designed and up and running for me wasn't ready till the end of August and even then it wasn't quite ready. I never received my *** page (help setting up) nor training for my blogs. I have a guarantee for this from Robert ***. The website is not what I wanted and they took my domain name that I was going to use for an "umbrella" website to house my other businesses. They (BWD) talked me into this situation with false testimony and I really do consider what each and every one of them and their conversations with me, have committed fraud. It's one thing to talk someone into something but you *** well have the respect to give and hold up to what you are specifying is going to happen.

Business Website Developers Response • Jan 22, 2020

Your campaign is not only still up, but ranking on the first page of all but one *** on ***! The terms and conditions you accepted acknowledged that there was no refund. Stated in 3 different places and another time on the check box you have to click before the order form will allow you to even submit the form.

We are aware that your special instructions in the order form state: "+ 260 fpp guaranteed or full money back in 12 months". As of 1/22/2020, if you log in to see your ranks, you are at 3,214 FPP so we've done our part to see you on the first page of search engines as promised.

Your custom site design was actually launched as approved by you on June 26. The policy is for a 1st and then a final revision, but you were allowed multiple revisions past that point with your CMS training happening in August.

We set up your *** and changed it to Earn With Bon as you requested on June 21st.

Customer Response • Jan 23, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I wanted a refund from the beginning and also when Shannon never kept up her end of the service contract with communication, if she would have, she would have known that what they were seo marketing was not what I agreed to. As well as Deborah, who was a lost liaison in this whole deal and never returned any of my calls knowing the website creation part of this scam wasn't at all what I agreed to and it wasn't linked to the right business.

So it doesn't matter what I ranked, I didn't want the seo *** because it wasn't promoting the right website! *** do you think I was trying to communicate to you people! hello?!! how do you think you're doing such a great service when it wasn't even what your customer ordered????!!!! is!! do you always keep marketing something that isn't the right website or wasn't ready or correct or promoting the wrong business????!! maybe when the customer is trying to contact you (Shannon & Deborah) you should communicate back to them so you know *** is going on! At least Will understood with all the website issues that were happening and not being able to own the/my website this whole piece of *** deal was going to be an issue, I was granted a almost full refund. You, Deborah, even made the comment, that the website they created for me wasn't personable enough and I should make changes to it. Ha! funny, you must have known that I would have to pay for all those changes and everything I didn't like about it, which was the whole fricken website!

So tell me again, what was I marketing with seo? because it was supposed to be linked to that website they (Will & crew) made for me that doesn't exist and hasn't for 5 months now!

I didn't approve anything, Shannon never got back to me when I wanted to discuss changes and cancelling it because the website was not what I expected and your custom design on the seo page looked like something a amateur put together and I told Shannon that. But she had me e-sign something and never made the changes after that in which she avoided contact for the rest of the process!

You did not set up a *** page, where is it then? yeah, just what I thought. I never had training for it either, so can you think of more lies?? every single one of you knew that I didn't know how to do any of this ***... and took advantage of me right from the beginning with the first conversation starting with Robert.

You definitely know how to scam people out of money by discussing and promising them all these great things you're going to do for them and their business and then turn around and produce lies.
Your company shouldn't have so many people for your customers to fricken try to work with, you should have one person that works with them through the whole process, like your lost liaison Deborah. If she would have stayed with me and walked me through everything, I probably would have understood this process a little more and if Shannon wouldn't have rushed the whole marketing set up as if there was going to be a devastating world event happening in the world, I might have felt a little more at ease. But because of all the pushing, rushing, no communication and no digital copy of contract sent to me with all the promises they made, the whole experience with this company and employees is enough to never want to do seo marketing or have a company build me a website ever again. I'll take classes and learn the *** myself!!

BWD and the named employees know what they did here with how they screwed up and tried to cover their tracks by being silent with no communication during this whole fascicle. If there isn't a determination of a refund in my favor, I will be taking this matter much further. I don't sit very quiet when on the receiving end of a company that teaches it's employees how to scam it's customers. Believe me, I have a lot more to say with a very big voice! I will also bring forth a lawsuit with other dis-satisfied customers if needed! So BWD needs to come to some sort of an agreement here and now.

Business Website Developers Response • Feb 03, 2020

The reason a great deal of contact was cut was due to your prior notice about having hired an attorney and as we take legal matters seriously, we would respond to the attorney as necessary.

Your *** page has been inactive so the page has gone down, but your ranks across search engines are getting stronger!

We have your notice of approval for your custom site as well as the dispute resolution forms you approved on July 26th, 2019.

You have 2 months left on your campaign, so if you have updates you'd like to make, please send us an email on your requests and we will do what we can!

Customer Response • Feb 24, 2020

This matter was not resolved.
I've been consulting a lawyer. The documents that were signed were in fact forms that BWD put in my face promising to fix the lies of deceit that they created through this whole corrupted process. I'm pretty sure that other businesses wouldn't be able to get by with this scam that they are promoting. Especially when they tell you what the process is and what the communication will be and fail on all aspects of them.
Like I said before and if it doesn't deem common sense to any of you then I must be crazy. If I don't have a website or domain that BWD said they would create for me for a specific said company with the SEO marketing to create leads for that said company then why am I paying BWD for SEO marketing when it's not going to that said company because that said company doesn't have a website or domain of which was refunded because of idiocy on the developers (Will) part.
Again I question, where is the SEO landing and what company do you think you're promoting?? That is what the last communications were to be about before last July, was to set up a different website or domain for the SEO to market for.
Well, with no communication from Deborah & Shannon how the F do you think this was all going to end up moving forward??!! I was left with no one to speak with or email about changes with any of this in which that was part of the deal or said promises.
Shannon was supposed to contact me regularly just for changes in keywords and such and that was just part of it.
My, again, absent liaison Deborah never returned an email or call to discuss any changes to move forward with. So again, I tell you, all the promises in the forms were just a ploy to cover their path of lies for the salesman Robert.
It's an absolute shame that people in business like this can feel good about themselves when they can easily blame the customer when they know it was lack of communication and lies on their part. Maybe it's the owners that don't know what these employees are doing with their customers or just the employees being *** because they don't like their jobs, either way this whole situation is shameful.
Shannon should have never continued the SEO marketing without my changes in which she would have known about if she would of had that communication with me after the signed form was received on their end. If Deborah would have returned my calls or my emails, she would have found that my said situation would have been completely a waste of money with my SEO marketing producing their remarkable rankings for a ghost business!!
The fricken audacity of people amazes me when they can completely take advantage of people that know nothing about their company. Bottom line, I wanted SEO marketing for one of my businesses. I then had them set me up to have a website and *** page. Wesite & *** page fell through so that leaves SEO marketing going no where, hence, my ghost reference above. In the contract /promises I was to receive a liaison for changes and an SEO rep (Deborah & Shannon) which I never received these services going forward after I received a refund from the website developers part (Will) so I could make changes!! So what on God's green earth doesn't anyone understand about this whole situation????!!!!
I know I don't know much about SEO marketing and website developing, but one thing I do know for sure is when someone is trying to scam you out of thousands of dollars. I have researched what BWD has charged other customers and their fees are all over the board! I think that has to do with what the salesmen like Robert try to rope you in with in the beginning. They have no said fees that are the same across the board. What a *** show.
If this company doesn't go down in ratings then I will make sure, if it's the last thing I do, the employees that I never received my services from will be held accountable. I justly deserve a refund for no services rendered. Why would anyone pay for Seo Marketing that goes lands no where??!! Ghost SEO marketing, is not a thing people, ***!

Business Website Developers Response • Feb 25, 2020

1. Your custom site was on ***. However, since you changed the DNS to point away from us, your site is going off of the new hosting. ***/***/ These two are independent 3rd party proof we built on that domain.
2. *** is the campaign site we created for you which is still up and ranking quite well. We encourage anyone to go to ***/***/*** and search for any of the following while looking for the aforementioned domain:

***
***
***
***

3. You have been contacted many times and we have records of all emails and recordings of all phone call interactions. The last time you were contacted was on August 22nd to notify you that your request to have the phone number updated was completed. So this is different from the July you mentioned.

This company is a scam. Hard sales pitch should have made me run but sucked in with their sales pitch. Once started and I complained that they were driving zero traffic to my website they just sent me their stats proving that they are doing what is promised. What is promised and what they lead your to believe are 2 separate things. Then they said my website is the problem and tried to sell me a website which I did not fall for. Bottom line is too much money spent and only about 3 people clicked through to my website in 9 months. One decision I regret.

This is the worse company and scam web designers! They promised Leads by picking key phrases.
They promised First page placement. Biweekly training with your website and tracking who has visited. They said they would have a branding expert help with setting up my youtube page,
my website and Pinterist. etc.
I paid $1995 + $800 for a website that I could have better luck with from Godaddy or WIx, atleast Id be able to make changes and add what I need to change and would have paid 1/4 of the price I paid! They are nothing but scammer and when you try to call and get help they say I have to go thru these steps and every change I make to my website I will be charged for. I was scamed on this overpriced website and have nothing to show for my $2800 investment. Atleast one sale would have been better then none. They just take your money and run. BUyer beware! You need to get these people out of business!!!!

This service is a scam. When I received their marketing call, I was promised 10 leads a month. They will make many promises. The contract however only states that the landing page they create for you will be on the first page of a Google search (Bing, Yahoo, etc.). It turns out that their landing page on the first page of a Google search does not result in you receiving any leads. They will give you a report of first page listings, but that's it. And, they won't give you access to Google reports about the landing pages.

Also, they will give you referrals. They are questionable at best.

I paid almost $3000 for creation of the landing pages for 6 months. I got nothing. Not one lead. Don't waste your money.

Company does not delivery what they promise, I was told I would receive phone calls from managers two days later still no call or responce...Told they
I purchased a web site...have had several issues with links from my web page to other real estate webs sites with lead capture pages. Was told it was for Search engine otimization. I told my rep Tim it makes absolutely no sence to put a link under one of my landing pages to link to another real estate web page. A landing page should be a Single Purpose to capture a lead and they have links to other real estate page landing pages that have ads to capture my leads...Made page corrects requests that I was told would be made check back and they were not made..for example logo was to read *** @ The ***
Still shows *** under the logo house...asked them to add a picture of a house on a teeter Tooter...sent them an expample of one I used on a post card that was a proof as an example...they used my proof picture that said proof on it...I was told I needed a IDX Vendo...I went with Their suggestion and still do not have a functiong IDX search after I was told it would be correct...Found out that I needed a different IDX Solution...they are suppose to be the experts but couldnt figure out the problem....ASKED TO SEAK WITH THE MANAGER WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL TWO DAYS LATER NO CALL...WAS TOLD HE IS BUSSY...THEY SAID HE WORKS ON APPOINTMENTS ASKED TO BE SCHEDULE ON AN APPOINTMENT WAS TOLD I HAD TO SPEAK WITH THE PERSON TOM TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH TOM BUT HE IS TOO BUSY TO RETURN MY CALL

Desired Outcome

ALL THE CHANGES MADE THEY WHERE SUPPOSE TO DO AND AN REFUND ON SOME OF MY COSTS TO CREATE THE WEB PAGE

Business Website Developers Response • Oct 03, 2019

Since the original complaint, we've made changes to the logo, added IDX, and removed the unwanted links on the keyterm pages.

Also the design manager has given CMS training to your assistant.

If you have any more changes needed, please let us know!

Guarantee for my business name to be #1 on *** search. Promoted alias name. Produced content in my name without my auth. No refund.
Business Website Developers Contacted me via cell phone call in March of 2019. They pitched an offer to be able to get my website, "spectrumforsuccess.com" onto the #1 spot/placement for *** search engine. After much conversation back and forth, I was convinced that this would be a good service for my business. The information that I received in the mail (***) did not even mention their business name: Business Website Developers. It mentions "Client Site Support" as their "Services Division". I have received no more mail communications and only some follow up phone calls and few emails. The phone calls were for Friday appointments where a lady, by the name of Shannon *** and basically tells me that progress looks good, that I am doing very well in the *** rankings, schedules a follow up for the next week. While this is happening, am being charged monthly fees that I believe were not supposed to start until my site was at #1 ranking of ***.
Business Website Developers had yet to grant me access to see my stats, how I was being promoted, or what work was actually being done until 5/29/2019, directly following a communication that I sent with complaint and request for them to close my account, cease all promotions, and refund my investment. This is when I learned that my website was not being promoted directly, but was under and alias url called "lucrativeonlineopportunity.com" with hyperlinks to my site. Also, this alias site was being promoted to areas that I would not directly market:
***
I later learned through my own investigation that my specific web site url had never been submitted to the *** directory. This basically means that it is not "searchable" on ***.

In the attached welcome packet, it is indicated that my business website url was being promote, and has no mention of ***

I had to request on three separate occasions for my account to be closed and funds refunded.

When I requested a refund for services not rendered, I was told that refunds were not allowed, but then I was offered 1 additional month at no charge for their services.

Business Website Developers sales consultant used the tacit that they knew all about my parent company and that they just had a lady retire from it, and how she had the #1 placement and that spot was open. I contacted my parent company and they know of no known association with Business Website Developers but have documented several complaints.

The Company name: Business Website Developers.
Website: ***
The phone #: ***
The fee: $2495. with reoccurring fees once #1 placement is achieved.

Desired Outcome

- I request full refund of initial investment of $2495 - I request full refund re-occurring fees totaling $59.85. - I request *** to be taken down from the world wide web

Business Website Developers Response • Sep 24, 2019

During the sales call and also in the terms and conditions which are clear on the order form, we mention that work we do is on a separate site.

The site *** is indeed searchable on ***. As is your original site ***

Your login for the report area was given when you logged in when on the phone with Shannon. Your screenshots of how the backend looked looked like the assets didn't finish loading which is more likely the case when browsing on mobile devices depending on what your connection is like at any given time.

In response to that, Shannon did indeed send you screenshots of your ranks.

All of the keyphrases with the areas you mention, you chose back on March 7th, 2019.

While we cannot issue the refund, we can take down the site *** if you send an email to any of our customer service representatives to confirm that you are indeed wanting it to be taken down.

Did not receive a true account of how the service would work, the services offered did not occur, could not get any money back, felt it was a scam.
I received a call from BWD in March for first place placement on internet search engines. They told me that this service would allow me to convert at least 1.5% of real estate leads into actual transactions. I was also told there was a 6 month satisfaction guarantee. I signed up for the service and chose 10 key phrases. A few days later another salesperson contacted me for a website development that was framed to help convert leads. It was explained that I couldn't refund the money for the website development because the payment was for creating the website itself. After about 2 months of going live I hadn't received ANY traffic through my site other than going in there myself to see if it actually worked. I called to express my frustration and all they offered to do was to check my placements which they said were performing strangely due to needing to establish the algorithm. It is now August and nothing has come from their service at all. I called today 8/12/2019 to ask for a refund for my portion that was just for the search results. They informed me that they could stop charging me 20 a month for managing the account but no refunds could be granted. I was told I would have a 6 month satisfaction guarantee, it's been 5 months and I am extremely dissatisfied. We paid $5000 dollars and $2500 of that was just for the key phrasing search results. I feel this company scammed me. There were several times my account said I was showing up in the number 1 spot on some search engines and that was not always the case when I looked myself. Either way $2500 is a lot of money to spend and get absolutely nothing in return. I feel some portion of that money should be refunded.

Desired Outcome

I would like the portion spent for the search engine results refunded. The product did not work and there was no way to resolve the issue. I no longer want the service and feel I have been scammed thousands of dollars.

Business Website Developers Response • Sep 21, 2020

While we can't issue a refund, we did exceed our guarantee of 520 first page placements by 2,515.

Your custom site has also been active outside of your active campaign and if you would like for us to continue hosting, please call in to our customer service to verify!

This company is a sham, a thief, has not produced a thing and took $2500 from me and no plan to make a refund.
This sham operation promised my website would be on the top pages of *** within 3 to 4 weeks, used phases I didn't even approve and then said they couldn't make a change, They actually hurt my position on google rather than helping it. I don't even come up on the first 3 pages now. BEWARE OF THESE CROOKS, THEY ARE ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY.

RON

Desired Outcome

I WANT MY MONEY BACK OR ENTER INTO A CLASS ACTION WITH OTHER COMPANIES THAN HAVE BEEN SWINDLED BY THIS BUNCH OF PIRATES.

Business Website Developers Response • Jul 30, 2019

We actually have your submission for your keyword selection from June 13th so they were definitely your choice.

The site we made for your advertising is actually showing on *** for all but 2 of your keywords.

The company charged me a total of $5,885.00 for website development and keywords optimization. I did not receive the services. I need a refund
On June 25, 2019, I received a call from a representative from Business Website developer regarding a small business that I have running on the internet. The company offered to build me a website, create a landing page for me aimed at putting me on the top of all of the major engines. The person over the phone was very convincing, and used all of the right words to convince me that their company is the best one in the business. They promised they would build me a website that will help me to sell more of my product and increase my revenue. I allowed them to debit my account for $1,995.00 for the Key words that they claim will me exclusively mine and will be used to put me on the top ranking with all of the major search engines.
The next day, June 26, 2019 I was contacted by another person from the same company who claims that I need to have a landing page for the keywords. That sales person used the same technique, I have to make a decision right away otherwise I will loose on the huge discount price they are offering me. At that point, I felt trapped. I felt I had to buy the web page; otherwise, what good are the keywords without having a landing page that customers will see when they search on my keywords. I agree for them to charge my account an additional $1,695.00.
On June 2 7th, 2019, I was contacted by yet another individual from the same company who successfully tried to convince me to pay them an additional $2,195.00 for a whole new website with its own URL , and I was promised that they would add access to ***, and *** and also a blog. They would do branding, vibrant color scheme and professional layout. I explained to them how I didn't have any more available funds, and I couldn't afford it. He was so aggressive and convincing, I agreed to put a $500.00 deposit and told him that I will pay the rest on Monday, June 29, 2019 he agreed. Therefore, I thought they would give me time to come up with the balance. I was shocked to find out they processed the entire $2,195.00 against my account. At this point, in the span of three business days this company debited my account for a total amount of $5,885.00.
On Friday, June 28, 2019 I received a call from another individual from the same company who claims to be an attorney who tried to instill fear in me that I may be sued by people who access my website and tried to convince to spend another $3,500.00 so that he can set up an LLC for me in Nevada. At this point, I realized that I am being taken for a fool. I told him no, thank you very much I am not interest in his service, nor do I want to deal with this company anymore. I told him that I want my money back.
On that same day, I did some research on the internet on the reputation of this company, and I was surprised to find out that a great number of other individuals who have been victims of the same SCAM by this company, Business Website Developers.
I must say, during my initial conversation with the first individual on June 25th, I asked if Business Website Developers is accredited by the Revdex.com, He told me that most companies simply pay the Revdex.com so that they can be accredited. He simply told me that his company does not believe in paying the Revdex.com for a good rating.
In Summary, I am asking for my money back because I realized that I was duped into accepting their services. After all, they contacted me I did not contact them. They used aggressive sales tactics to pressure me into accepting their offer. I was not given enough time to analyze the situation. I simply did not have enough time to do my due diligence. Furthermore, I wrote to them three days after the initial contact to tell them that I no longer wanted to move forward and I wanted my money back. They categorically refused to give me my money back. I am asking to be refunded the entire $5,885.00 that they debited from my bank account.

Desired Outcome

Since they had not started to provide any service and it was very early in the process, I wrote them, on Saturday, June 29, 2019 and asked for my money back. I also told them that I no longer need their service. On Monday, I got a call from Business Website Developers informing that I cannot have my money back. I told them that I filed a claim with my financial institution to have them reverse the debit transactions from my account. I was told plain and simple that I am not getting my money back and if I tried them that I am going to lose. I would have to travel from *** to Nevada to fight them. I filed acclaim with my financial institution asking that the debit transactions be reversed. They managed to convince my banking institution that the transactions were not fraudulent, so my bank denied my claim.

To begin with, your initial purchase was not just for keywords, but also to have a new site built to serve as advertising. The 2nd time you purchased with us was for additional keywords. The 3rd time was for a site to serve as the recipient of all the advertising that you have more freedom to make changes on in comparison to the site you had before us.

It hasn't been long since your first reports started, but your campaign is ranking extremely well on ***.

However, due to the terms and conditions on that state there's a no refund policy as Deborah has told you before. At this point, your two sites with us have been up for over a month.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
08/01/2019
The response from the business is inaccurate. I did not purchase three times from the company. The company split the transaction in three different portions to make it appear as though I made three purchases. I was pressured into accepting their offer to purchase keywords and to have them create a website. I was never advised of their cancellation policy. I was coached over the phone. The salesman was over the phone with me and indicating step-by-step to me where to type my name, my address, my phone number, and my credit card number card number on their online form. Never during that time I was informed that I could not cancel. Their response to my complaint indicated that my campaign is doing well. I am not sure what campaign they are referring to. I never got to a point where I had the chance to select a website name or a website address. Nor did I decide on any marketing campaign with them what so ever. The company's claim in that regard is false.
I don't understand how they can claim that I have two websites with them that have been up for a month. When actually three days after taking my money I informed them in writing that I no longer wanted to proceed with their services. My claim is that if the company has built any website at all, they have done it after I have indicated to them that I no longer needed their services. At this point, I would like the Revdex.com to ask the company on my behalf to provide tangible proof of the services they have provided to me for the funds that have taken from my account.
My claim is the following: Even though my phone number has been on the Do-Not-Call list since 2004, this company initiated a marketing/ sales call to me, used high-pressure tactics to dupe me into thinking that I needed a website in order for my existing business to be successful. During the call, I indicated that I needed a day or two to do my due diligence, and to analyze their offer so that I may be able to make an informed decision. But I was told If I hang up the phone I will not be able to take advantage of deep discount on the price that they were offering me at the time. Additionally, when I inquired about their Revdex.com rating, I was told that they don't believe on paying the Revdex.com for ratings like most companies do. This is the high pressure that I succumbed to at the time I made the decision to give them my credit card number.
Moreover, I was told that they will have everything up and running in two to three weeks and I informed them in writing three (3) DAYS later that I have decided that I did not need their service at all and I also made it clear to them that I needed to have my money refunded. The company claimed that they build me two websites; this is disingenuous on their part. I don't understand how they can claim that they have built any website when I have never even had the chance to select any website name or address with them. If they are claiming that have built me two websites, they are making false claims. I have never received any correspondence from the company indicated the website address nor have I ever been made aware of the URL for these websites.
My response to Business Website Developers is that I notified them well before they were able to start any work that I did not need their services. Additionally, given the fact that I was not allowed the time to do my due diligence, it is only fair that I be reimbursed. I am never going to profit nor be able to use the alleged website that I do not need. Keeping my money at this point is nothing else but high-tech-robbery on their part. This is not a good way to do business. I do not need this company to build or maintain a website for me. All I need is my money back.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Business Website Developer is incorrect in their response. I did not agree to have any website built, let alone two websites. As I indicated before in my previous response, I did not discuss with anyone in your organization as to the name of any website that I wanted to use. Nor did I agree that the website name would be the one you mentioned in your response. The reason is I ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE FOR MY BUSINESS, I DO NOT NEED A WEBSITE. We discussed key words. These two website addresses that you mentioned in your response were built after I have indicated to you that I no longer wanted to move forward with your company which was two business days after you debited my account in the amount of $3,690.00.
The company decided to pull the $3, 690.00 from my account in two separate transactions in the span of two days to make it look like I purchased additional services. In actuality that was not the case, nor the agreement. After being pressured for so many hours over the phone by the salesperson to purchase more services I agreed to put $500.00 down toward more services. I specifically told the sales person that I will have to do some due diligence before I spend any more money with the organization. I specifically told him that if I decide to go with your organization I will give him another account to pay the $2,195.00. The agreement was that they would put a hold for $500.00 on my credit card account until I get back to them. To my surprise the company debited my credit card for the entire $2,195.00 the same day without my permission. I was not aware of the fact that the salesman, when he was directing me on how to fill out the online form, directed me to agree in writing to terms that I was not agreeing to verbally. When I mentioned that I was not pleased that the entire $2,195.00 was debited from my credit card account without my permission your admin person told me that "We don't take down payments". This is not good business practice. Additionally, during the conversation with the salesman, I mentioned to him, that I did not have any more money to spend in building a website. I specifically told him that I already have a website. He sold me on the idea that the keywords will be used to optimize my current site so that it will show up on top of search results.
I did not agree to purchase any website from this company. As a matter of fact at the onset of the phone call from the salesman, he told me that he came across my website for my business that's what prompted him to contact me. Therefore, I was not in the market to purchase more websites. This is an example of how this business uses their pressure tactics to confuse and mislead the consumer.
To summarize, I am requesting a reimbursement from this company for the $3,690.00 that was supposedly to pay for keywords optimization of my already existing website not to have a website built. I do not need any website which I made clear to the salesman over the phone. I then notified the company two business days after they took my money that I was no longer interested in keywords or any optimization services from them. Then in order to justify the transaction, they went ahead and built two websites using any names of their choosing. I was told over the phone that I paid for customization work that cannot be resold. Then I was told that if I decide to continue with my refund request, that I would have to travel from *** to Nevada to fight them in court. They further stated to me that I will end up losing anyway because this is not *** where I have a three day right of rescission. My take on this is that if this company is doing business over the internet all over the United States and outside of the US as well, there should be some laws that are designed to protect the consumer from frauds and technicalities such as this.

After carefully examining the transactions, the $3690.00 they charged me for the keywords are very exorbitant. I know for sure that it does not cost that much for keywords optimization. I have had this type of work done in the past for less than $100.00. This is plain fraud. Currently the $2,195.00 that the company debited from my *** Credit card is currently in dispute with my banking institution. I am providing to them supporting documentation that I did not authorize the transaction. Filing this complaint is one of the means of proving proof that I did not authorize the $2,195.00 charge.

Business Website Developers Response • Aug 12, 2019

Your initial purchase was on the 24th.

2 business days after that was the day before your keyterm approval. The 27th was your keyterm approval which you completed. After which, but on the same day, you bought a custom site with us.

Not only did the order form say that this was all for another site, but you admit yourself that you paid $2195 for another site.

Customer Response • Aug 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The vendor response is incorrect. I did not say that I purchased another site. The correct statement is that at the insistence of the salesperson, after agreeing to the $3,690.00 for the key words, I reluctantly agreed to put a down payment of $500.00 towards optimization of my current website until I was able to determine if this additional service was even necessary. I specifically indicated to the salesperson that I would contact him the next day or so to let him know if I want to move forward. But to my surprise I found out the vendor fraudulently processed the entire $2,195.00 through my credit card. That is the reason why in my initial correspondence to them regarding my refund I only ask for the total of the $3,690.00 for the key words and the $500.00 down payment which was $4,190.00. The reason is, at that time that's what I thought they owed me. So after receiving my correspondence in which I ask them not to move forward with the key words and to refund my money. The vendor realized that I was not aware of the fact that they did process the entire $2,195.00 through my credit card account, they went ahead and built haphazardly two websites using my name and some generic, and fake contents. In order to prove that I did not have any conversation with the vendor regarding building me any custom website, I have attached copies of the webpages that they provided in their most recent response where they mentioned " Your campaign is at: ***
Your other site is at: ***" When I logged onto those websites, I discovered not only the contents are generic, they are totally false, the contents are not genuine, they do not reflect my situation at all. I never had a conversation with anyone in that company about which website addresses I wanted to use. Moreover, in one of the webpage, they have me servicing areas such as ***. This is so outrageous, I am based in ***, how am I able to service areas that I know nothing about. This is to prove that this company went ahead after I had told them that I wanted my money back which was right after the keyword selection. Which in my opinion, is not a custom service because keywords, are just words which they did not even use to optimize my current website with. That's what I thought I was paying for, not to have two websites built. As I indicated before, I already have a website. I would have never agreed to have two additional websites built. In my opinion, I am entitled to a refund of the entire $5,885.00, which is the total of $3,690.00 that I originally paid for the keywords plus the $2,195.00 the company took from my credit card account without my permission. Not only I was pressured into making quick decisions during the transaction, I was also duped into thinking that I was putting a down payment of $500.00 for social media links (***) that would be placed on my original website which, by the way, was not built by them. My website address is (***). The company debited the entire $2,195.00 from my credit card without my permission and had me sign their online order form without allowing me the time to read it carefully beforehand. Apparently, that is their way of doing business because a great number of individuals have reported the same thing regarding this company. This is not fair. As a consumer, I am asking for some protection against unscrupulous and dishonest vendors such as this one.

Business Website Developers Response • Sep 04, 2019

Again, at no point do we mention we would work on your original website. The terms and conditions state that we build a separate site.

The areas *** you mentioned: those were all keyterms you selected on June 27, 2019. You even say in your last statement that you had gone through keyword selection.

Customer Response • Sep 06, 2019

This is a shameful situation. I do not understand the role of the Revdex.com in cases like this. The vendor at every occasion provided untruthful responses. I am not sure I fully understand the role of the Revdex.com in cases like these. The vendor did not provide accurate information in any of their responses. It came down to their words against mine. From the beginning, I maintained that the vendor set out to defraud me by not divulging from the beginning that this would be a final sale. In fact I was never made aware of their no refund policy. How do you expect to call someone while they are at work and in a 10 minutes phone call, you expect the person to read a two-page policy under duress and make an informed decision. In fact I maintained throughout all of my responses that I was not made aware of their no refund policy, nor was I given the time to read it and analyze the offer so that I would have the time to make an informed decision. This company is notorious for using the same type of sale tactics on consumers over the phone. This is plain fraud.
Besides, the areas of service that they listed on the fake websites they supposedly build for me are not keywords. Everyone knows what keywords are. So their rebuttal to my complaint is not even legitimate. I do not understand why the Revdex.com has closed the case without even making an effort to properly analyze the facts of this case. It is evident the company is a fraud. It is clear that the consumer needs to be aware and it is evident there is no type of protection being offered to the consumer by the Revdex.com. This is outrageous, How I lost my $6,000.00 from this unscrupulous vendor.

Business Website Developers Response • Sep 10, 2019

Keywords, or keyphrases, were discussed with you over the phone. In the end, you had chosen all of the following:

***

The sites we built are certainly not fake.
***/
and
***/

are both certainly real and available to anyone to go to.

Customer Response • Sep 11, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is unbelievable!! I am shocked at the audacity of this vendor. These are not the key phrases that I selected. This is another proof that that the information that this vendor is providing is totally fabricated. If for instance I had a conversation with this vendor regarding building me a website, the content to the website would have been more personal. The content of both Web pages they put up is totally false. I would have never portrayed myself this way to my online visitors, because nothing that is said on both pages is true. Secondly, all of the key phrases they submitted here in this forum have to do with states or geographic areas where I have never been and know nothing about. As I mentioned previously, I live in ***, ***, I know nothing about these areas that are mentioned in the key phrases that the vendor submitted. It is evident that this vendor has been down that road with many customers before; they know how to portray themselves in cases such as this. They know the right things to say and they have the upper hand because they can manipulate the order forms and their files to prove their case. Yesterday, September 10th, 2019 I contacted the vendor requesting copies of the key-phrases that I selected, I was told that my account is closed and the key phrases are no longer available and they are not going to give me any key-phrases unless I agree to submit a form to my banks stating that the situation has been resolved. When I asked them to send me a copy of the form that they wanted me to fill out, I was told that I have to do the form with them over the phone they cannot send me any form. That is the same way they got me to submit an order form over the Internet with the salesman coaching me step by step what to put on that form. God is my witness, I was never given the time to read any terms and conditions. Nor was I made aware of them verbally before I submitted that form. This is outrageous. The summary of this complaint is that I was coerced by a fast talking, and unscrupulous sales person to fill out an order form to purchase key phrases for my existing website under the pretext that the company would be helping my website get more exposures. I was coached
over the phone on how to fill out their online order form. I was never given the time to read their Terms and Condition, nor was I even made aware of them verbally. I was offered additional optimizations with social media on my website and was asked to pay $2,195.00 in addition to the $3,690.00 that I was charged for the key-phrases. I told the salesman that I didn't have any more money nor did I want to spend any more money that day, he convinced me to put $500.00 down so that I can lock up the big savings I was being offered that day. We agreed that I would call him the next day to confirm the transaction. After doing some research on the Internet about this company I realized that I may have been a victim of a scam. I emailed the immediately to let them know that I needed to withdraw and I did not need their service anymore and I wanted them to refund my payments to the credit cards. They became very irritated and told me if I cancel the credit card transactions I am going to lose and I will have to travel to the state of Nevada to fight them in court and they were certain that I am going to lose then. This is when I found out about their terms and conditions, and I also found out instead of holding $500.00 on my credit card for the second transaction like I was told over the phone, they went ahead and debited the entire $2,195.00. I truly believe they have changed the electronic information on the order form. Because I do not remember checking that box where it says I agree to the terms and conditions. I am not ignorant, If I had to check a box to say that I agreed to some terms and conditions , I would have at least asked to read the information that I am agreeing to before checking that box.
Just as they are providing false information to the Revdex.com regarding the key phrases, I believe they have altered the form to show that I agreed to these terms. If I were aware of their no refund policy, I would have never agreed to these terms. Furthermore I wouldn't have asked for my money back. I did that because I know for sure no services had been rendered yet because I had just paid for generic key-phrases. For example words people looking for work from home ideas would put in the search box in ***. Phrases like "Earn Money from Home", "Supplement your Income during retirement" words like that. I was told it would take a couple of weeks for the key-phrases to saturate the market and I would be able to see results within a month or so. I was even guaranteed to get results once the phrases are up and running. Now I read on their terms and conditions that there is no such guarantee. If I were aware of these terms and conditions ahead of time, I would have NEVER agreed to spend that much money with Key-phrases and social media optimization. I am not Internet savvy, but I am not ignorant either. I am a hard working person who is looking for a way to supplement my income as I am approaching retirement age. My only fault is that I was too trusting.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
In your response you indicated that "Not only did you actually select those keyterms, but you should have an email from *** forms confirming you did, in fact, select those keyterms on 6/27/2019 at 3:07PM PST."
Please provide me with a copy of the date stamped email that was sent to me on June 27, 2019 at 3:07Pm that lists the actual keywords that were selected by me on that day.
In your response you also indicated that the areas listed in the keywords were selected for density. The question is the areas in the keywords were selected by whom? Isn't it true that the key terms that you provided in your response on the 10th are not the keywords that I selected? And the areas that are indicated with the keywords were arbitrarily chosen by your firm that is the reason why they are so far off. In fact the websites that you guys created were done after I had contacted you to let you know that I no longer needed the keywords that I purchased from you and requested my money back. It was a simple transaction, which I retracted three days later. It was done with the sole purpose of trying to prove that you guys provided a service because you had no intention of reimbursing me my money.
Instead of cancelling the keywords for which I paid you $3690.00 and returning my money like any honest business organization would do, you guys went ahead and created two bogus websites using my name with fake and untruthful contents just so you can prove that you provided customized services that cannot be resold. That is a totally weak response to put it mildly. It is clear that the key words that I selected were just what they are, regular English words used every day by millions of people. So I did not purchase exclusive usage right of these words. As far as these words are customized work, this excuse does not apply here.
Just to be clear, your salesperson contacted me over the phone under the pretext that Business Website Developers could help my current website get more web presence by optimizing it with keywords that are designed to give me top placement at all of the popular search engines. That's what captivated my attention, and I agreed to pay the $3695.00 for the keywords. There is no way I was going to purchase another websites let alone two additional ones. Yes, I selected keywords that three days later I decided against. Additionally, after I did the keywords selection with this salesman, it looks like my name and phone number were given to another sales person who contacted me about additional services such as making my website accessible through different social media outlets like ***, *** etc. I was quoted a price of $2,195.00. This is what I thought I was putting the $500.00 down until I can make up my mind that I wanted to go along with that part of the service. A day later I was contacted by yet another sales person who presented himself to me as being an Attorney who was trying to charge me an additional $3195.00 to show me on how to protect myself against law suits from people using my website online. I categorically told him no. I became very suspicious, and started researching them online. This is when I realized that I was being scammed by this company. To my biggest surprise I also found out they went ahead and debited the entire $2,195.00 they quoted me from my account without my permission. This is plain fraud. Additionally, I was told over the phone that the company's name is Business Website Developers, but the transaction shows up in my credit card statement as Top advertising solutions. I was never told that another company was going to debit my account. That is a very disingenuous way of doing business.
As far as the terms and conditions listed on your website I am affirming again I was not given a chance to read them before I accepted the keywords, nor was I informed verbally of these terms. If I were aware of the terms and conditions, or if I were given the chance to read them beforehand I would have never agreed to do business with this company. It says clearly in their terms and conditions (which I recently found out) that they don't provide optimization to your current websites, they only build websites. I would have never dealt with them because I was not, and I am not in the market for any new website. These two bogus websites need to come down, and I need to be refunded my $5,885.00.

With *** Forms, we get an email saying that the form was completed. You are the one that gets the copy of the keyterms.

We do, however, have the ability to see what was selected along with the time stamp of when it was completed. This is being sent to you at your email v***

The areas were vetted by our keyword analysts.

It is true that you selected the keyterms.

The date of your original purchase was June 24th.

Your keyterm approval was on the 27th.

On the 27th, you bought an additional custom site.

Our no-refund policy is quite clear and part of the terms and conditions.

In your last reply, you state:

"If I had to check a box to say that I agreed to some terms and conditions , I would have at least asked to read the information that I am agreeing to before checking that box."

Which means that you have read the terms and conditions prior placing the order as it would be impossible to complete the form without the box being checked.

We can bring down the websites if you send a request to our customer service team, but the work has been done and there will be no refund.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
You are not able to produce a copy of the email that you claimed your system sent to me with the keyterms for which you charged me $3,690.00. But yet in your September 10th response you listed a list of terms that I have supposedly selected. What this is telling is that you provided false statements in your responses in this forum.
Additionally I file my complaint on July 23, 2019, but it wasn't until September 10th that you provided the keyterms and the web addresses. This is also proving that on June 29th when I notified you in writing that I no longer needed these keywords, and when I requested my money back, no service had actually been done at that time. So the claim that I ordered customized work that cannot be resold is a weak excuse.
Your inability to produce these keywords for which you charged me $3,690.00 tells me that your system is not efficient and unreliable. It is an unsecure system that can easily be altered in the back office. I truly believe that the online form that the salesman had me fill out step-by-step can be changed in the back office. The salesman can easily add or remove information on the form. That also proves that I am right when I said I did not see the terms and conditions, nor was I advised of them beforehand. I may be naïve, but I am not stupid. If I had read these terms and conditions there is no way I would have gone ahead and done any business with your company. These terms and conditions are unilateral, they do not offer any protection to the consumer whatsoever. That is the reason why your salesperson did his hardest to keep them hidden during the transaction. These terms and conditions only come into play when you are dealing with unhappy customers or anyone who changes their minds about the services after they've learned about your company's fraudulent activities over the internet. That's very convenient for you, isn't it? So right now, it's coming down to your word against mine. In the mean time you have my money and I have nothing but a pile lies and rubbish. One more fact is that I was never told another company called *** would be the company that would be debiting my account. Business website Developers was the company that was presented to me over the phone. Again, there is a lack of transparency with your business dealings. This is done to confuse and deceive the consumer. Both companies, Business Website Developers, and *** and their founder: Melvin *** need to be investigated for fraud. I am 60-year old grandmother who is taking care of my grandchildren. I cannot afford to lose my $6,000.00. Your company needs to be investigated by the FTC for fraudulent activities. Too many people have filed complaints after complaints against your company. Moreover, you were confident when you said to me if I file a complaint against your company I will lose. You were very confident in saying that I will lose because you know the process very well because you've been there before many times with other individuals that you ripped off the same way you did me. The desired outcome is a full refund of my $6,000.00 and the bogus websites need to come down.

No, what us not having the email means is that we simply do not view the information in the same way that you do. *** forms does not mail the responses of each individual form fillout. Just that there -has- been a form fillout. See the attachment to see how we see your selection.

Service starts within a day of an order being filed. This is why the no refund policy exists.

We can't change your beliefs, but additions or removals from our order form after the fact do not take place. The terms and conditions checkbox has been there for years. Refer to the email that you got when you filled out the order form. It not only has the terms and conditions, but also the checkbox you checked, the IP you were on when you filled out the form, and the timestamp of when it happened. By nature, terms and conditions are specifically for the protection of whoever is using them.

Again, we cannot issue a refund. If you email our customer service department and let them know you want the sites we built for you to come down with the understanding that there will be no refund, we can proceed with that.

They did not stand by their product and refused to make any corrections. Contract states all work is customizable, with money back guarantee.
I filing a formal complaint against Business Website Developers, with the intention of receiving assistance in obtaining a full refund in the amount of $3690.00, from Business Website Developers. The complaint relates to Business Website Developers making and implementing an entire new website without my consent, and their complete negligence in setting up Search Engine Optimization to drive a higher volume of customers to my business website.

I was given the impression, and a contract that states they would provide me with "custom work designed solely for my business". In the initial phone call I received from Business Website Developers', on February 4. 2019, I was told all of their services were obtainable with the website and systems I already had in place, and was told if I wrote them a check in the amount of $3690.00 that day, I was entitled to a full refund if I was unsatisfied with any of their services.

On a subsequent call the original claim was completely contradicted, and I was informed I needed an entire new site in order for the renovations to affect my business in a positive manner. At this point I requested a full refund, I was denied, and told I would not able to get any of my money back. Without consulting me, *** was installed as a landing page to my initial site, ***.

The point of their work being entirely customizable was reiterated multiple times, in both the contract and in conversations between myself and the employees of Business Website Developers.

This being said, I received a new site and Search Engine optimization, but as previously stated Business Website Developers completed this work in a manner of complete negligence. I was guaranteed to be under the paid advertisers on the list of search results. None of the key phrases implemented lead to *** and do not even produce my website as a search result.

Additionally, I was not consulted on the verbiage of these search phrases. The ones that do appear under the paid advertisers, go to ***.This site was made, implemented, and has my contact and business information attached to it, all without my permission. The new site doesn't mention my initial business website, ***, in any way. There are multiple links, such as ***, ***, to name a few, that lead potential clients away from my actual website.

As previously stated, I was not consulted with any of the renovations that were implemented. Multiple communication attempts were made both by phone and emails, to get the status and content updates on the work being done by Business Website Developers. I was under the impression of said word and contract with Business Website Developers this work would be customized to my business and personal satisfaction. I was never given any inkling of a proof for any renovations that were done on my business website.

After receiving no response to my communication attempts, I left a message with said business's office and sent an email to a client services representative asking for a full refund in the amount of $3690.00. I was promptly informed, after multiple failed contact attempts, that the work for my website had already been completed, and a no refund of any kind was possible.

To state other instances of negligence in addition to my satisfaction as a customer, the work that was done and stated to be fully complete on their end, is a total embarrassment to have my name attached to as a real estate professional. Along with the poor quality, some statements made in the text tell potential clients I offer services, that in fact I do not offer. The information on market trends, locations, and real estate normalities are completely inaccurate in some instances, misleading, and are written in a long winded style not to my satisfaction.

Desired Outcome

I am filing a formal complaint against Business Website Developers, with the intention of receiving assistance in obtaining a full refund in the amount of $3690.00, from Business Website Developers. I insist, and fully stand by the claim that Business Website Developers is in breach of contract, and have commited negligent misrepresentation of myself and my business. I appreciate your help in assisting me to resolve this matter, and to obtain my full refund of $3690.00.

The creation of a new site is specified both in our initial verbal pitch and also resides in our terms and conditions which is on the same page as the order form. As others have had this complaint before, we made that font larger and bolder than the rest so it would stand out. We also do this because a lot of our client base either didn't have a website initially or their current website does not allow them to make and sort of changes to it.

The keyphrases that you chose and the pages on the site do not automatically redirect from the links on search engines as there needs to be substance on the page that's ranking. Each of the pages do, however, have links on them which are meant to drive traffic towards your initial site.

The consultation for the base of your keyterms was part of your marketing review which asked about areas you service, markets you deal with, etc.

Customer Response • Jul 21, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First, it is concerning to me that if you actually have read the attached documents, you are still standing by your work, as I am ashamed to have my name attached to it.
As I stated previously, the creation of this site was never specified in the initial verbal pitch, the salesman I spoke to on the first sales call assured me I didn't have to have a new site. I would have never proceeded if I knew that was the case. I was not made aware of having to have a new site until after you had my $3,690.00.

Have you read the attached material, the pages you claim to be customized to my liking? I don't understand how your company and the employees that are responsible for this work are not ashamed and utterly embarrassed of the "completed" work you are standing by. Simple grammar has been overlooked on all pages of your work. This is viewable by the public and my personal and professional reputation is at risk because of it.

I have been a real estate professional for over twenty years, and by reading the material you attached to my name and my reputation, I am portrayed as unknowledgeable, uneducated, and negative about the industry that I love. Again, I was not consulted on any of the text that you implemented, or I would have corrected the careless grammar, the generalized statements, and overall poor quality work you have made look like my own words. I am embarrassed to have my name attached to what you call knowledge of the real estate industry, and will be horrified if I am ever asked to reference it by one of colleagues, or god forbid a client.

In your response you also state you have had others, plural, make the same complaint. As a company you would think you would solve this issue and make more of an effort than a minesqual change such as enlarging and making font bold.

The lack of morality and integrity this company possess is appalling! As you have asked me to reference the contract, I ask you to do the same. It is stated multiple times that if I am not satisfied with your work I am entitled to a refund. It also states your work is customizable.

I hope we are on the same page now, and you understand that I was not able or consulted to customize anything you implemented, and more importantly I am the furthest thing from a satisfied customer. So, in your words, I am entitled to a refund.

I understand your company has policies and scripts in place to keep this from happening, but the employees I dealt with failed to reference them. I would not take this time away from business to pursue this if they had, and would not go to the lengths if you had made any effort to make this right.

I hope you can recognize the work you did is not only a complete embarrassment to Business Website Developers, but more so to myself and my career. This is my livelihood and reputation I have worked my whole life for that you are putting at risk.

So, again, I ask you fully refund me in the amount of $3,690.00, and take the site down.

Business Website Developers Response • Jul 30, 2019

As our salespeople are fully aware of the product, none of them would have said that there would be no site created. Additionally, in the attached document you sent, it also states that another site is being created.

We can make edits to your content, but it is grammatically correct.

The contract does not, in fact, mention that you're entitled to a refund. There are 3 places that reference that refunds are actually not given.

While we cannot issue a refund we can take down sites if you send an email to the customer service team.

I am not from another company. When I looked up the reviews for when I signed up they claimed they were upset employees who gave negative reviews but that was obviously a lie. I am so disappointed by the way this company has treated me. They have lied about everything from start to finish! they tell me the pages I am on google but never actually there. They say they won't charge until you are on first page of google but its all for key words that would never be searched by someone looking for service. The only key word that actually shows up for the setup they made is my own name, once that hit they started charging forget the other 9 junk key words. NOT HAPPY AT ALL! Also they claim they are all about supporting service members and give a discount for it but in reality they are just crooks who don't mind stealing from vets.

Absolutely zero stars if I had my way... When any company gives you the BS like this one does that they have rooms full of magical tech geniuses just working to put and keep your website on page one of Google they are liars... Ben who tried to pressure sell me on a $6000. package for an hour and half was a condescending puke. These people are scammers. No SEO company can get your website on page one of Google.. those positions are either paid for by big Ad spenders or awarded by Google based on a algorithm and rules that Google sets. Think about it, its impossible for us all to be on page one of Google for our niche!!

I was called by this company and talked to their salesman for more than an hour. He sold a service to me that they do not even offer.
On January 9th 2019, this companies salesman called me and told me about their SEO services. He said multiple times that they can get me in the First Place Position on the first page of google for my keywords. He even showed me multiple examples where there clients are in the first place position above the adds. My husband works in SEO too and asked him to confirm they can get us in the first place position and not just the first page and he confirmed yes that's what they do. We told him that that would be the only reason we would sign up because I am already on the first page and only want to be in the first place position above my competition here. We then signed up because he promised this to us. Then after we paid, we had a call with their support staff and she said they don't offer first place position only first page, which is not what I needed at all. We talked to multiple people and their manager who was supposed to call us back, but never would and would never take my calls. We have tried multiple times to talk to them and they won't respond to us or let us talk to a manager. They have the recording of their salesman deceiving us, but they won't release it to us. They said they would give us a small monthly $9.95 monthly discount, basically admitting fault, but we paid $2,495 for a service they don't even provide and told us they would give us.

Desired Outcome

We want a refund for $2,495.00

While we do offer the possibility to be ranked on page 1 position 1, that is not what our service is based on. Our service is based off of strictly -page 1- results for key phrases.

In spite of that, we do show you positioned on page 1 position 1 on some of your KT's, where a majority of them are indeed on page 1.

When we spoke with you on February 13th, 2019 for your first rank review, we clarified this and you seemed to be happy enough with the explanation.

We then spoke with you again on March 15th where you were shown above the competitors that you were concerned about.

Then again on March 29th where that was still true.

Then again on April 25th when the threat was issued towards us.

Lastly May 7th concerning the continued threat.

The discount was a courtesy and by no means an admission of fault.

Customer Response • Jun 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Although you say that your service is not based on getting clients to rank on page 1 in position 1, your salesman promised us exactly that, page 1 in position 1. He even showed us multiple examples of other clients ranking on page 1 position 1 and told us I would be in position one above ***, Realtor.com and other large websites. That was the only reason we signed up was for page 1 position 1. We would not have signed up if your salesman told us what you actually provide and didn't deceive us by promising us a service you don't provide.

We talked to a manager in April who was going to call us back, but she never did. When I called again a week later your support staff would not let me talk to a manager. We have attempted again to talk to a manager and your response was: "You did call in and speak with a representative whom explained that there is no refund at this time. If we do not meet our guarantee at the end of the campaign, we will be happy to refund at that time. Thanks." Your guarantee is not what the salesman promised us and deceiving customers to buy your service should not be allowed.

Business Website Developers Response • Jul 11, 2019

We have gone through our logs and spoken with our salespeople. As of yet, we have not found anything indicating that what we offered was "page 1 position 1" on *** results.

After going through a sales call and demo with them, I informed them that I was not interested at this time. Cost and results were more than I wanted to invest. I thanked them for their time and wished them a good day and then hung up. They then called me back, reproached me for wasting their time and spoke very condescending towards me with raised voices. Clearly disrespectful and not a good way to do business. I would advise against giving them your time.

The company has not provided the promised product and provided no clear contract for the services.
Payment was charged to my *** and has been disputed. No clear contract has ever been provided, for the website optimization delineating exactly what services (phrases) were being optimized nor the results of the "work product".
The website development was a coerced phone consultation with a website presentation and verbal promises. The "Consultant" then require that an online form be submitted and verbally instructed as to what was to be typed in on each line. When questions were posed the "Consultant" verbally assured that the company 1) had access to an idx frame-able link 20 that the link was in compliance with the MLS requirements 3) That Shannon would make certain that the compliance requirements of my MLS were not an issue. 4)There is information added on the form after the signature which is in direct conflict with the verbal information. 5) Will the "Consultant" was going to personally see that the site was a Completely Customized site with idx integration and at any time during the first year of the site being operational as many revisions as needed would be provided at no charge unless the site was changing the advertised services from real estate to some total other product/service. Additional language was added that states revisions after the first 2 will require a minimum of 4 hour charge at $125 per hour.
I specifically asked about changes as my business address will be changing next month and a dynamic site with changes included was the reason for changing site vendors to begin with. 6)the company routinely called at 6 PM and 7 PM my local time on Friday evenings
(totally inconvenient as that is when houses are being shown , after the average consumer gets off work). 7) the "Consultant "would wait weeks in between calls as he claimed the site was being worked on.
8) the site is an out of the box *** site, which has finally been revised to include the Revdex.com logo, but still has a pirated idx solution that is being copied from my existing site which will cease to exist at the end of June 9) the idx "integration" does to look like the rest of the site and sticks out like sore thumb and it will not be functional once I terminate the existing site contract.10)The Company is not accessible for communication and does not seem to have any understanding of anything regarding the compliance issues that are incumbent upon technology providers for real estate in the ***. 11) the company employees are rude, non
service oriented and provide no real understanding of what exactly they are claiming g they have done. 12) The product they are showing has information for areas by name which are not even remotely within the region the ste was to be developed. 13) I could not put this poorly finished product out for my web presence in good conscious therefore there is no product.

Desired Outcome

I selected based on drop down menu, however since the "consultant" required the payment be charged to my *** in ADVANCE and they are refusing to make the product what was promised...I want a refund or the greed to product be developed and I be provided a a true customer service professional ( Single point of contact TO DEAL WITH another promise that was made, that i would not need to deal with whoever but that I would have an account representative to work with not this one this time and somebody else next time and only when they seem to be on break from their real jobs which are obviously not this business. The "Consultant"included the blog and told me they would provide the relevant content to the blog that i would not need to do this. This discussion was because I told him I don't blog and have no desire to start blogging because I don't have the time or know what to put in a blog for it to be effective.

Contract: this was not only discussed verbally, but more specifics were actually written in as you were filling in the order form. Of which, 520fpp (first page placement) guaranteed or full money back. We've long since passed that guarantee and are over by 968 placements and counting.

Phrases: This was part of your keyphrase approval in which you selected each of them. To see how they're doing, just log into our site with the username and password that customer service provided to you.

IDX: Part of the terms and conditions actually states the following

"If the client desires to have IDX (Internet Data Exchange) associated with their site, the client must provide it."

The "pirated" IDX solution is literally your current site. As you haven't supplied an IDX, we linked the property search page to your current site. This is why that page does not look like the rest of the site.

Revisions: The $125 an hour is part of our order form. It's the last thing in the terms and conditions.

6/7PM local time: Our customer service reps responsible for calling you at this time have been disciplined as we have record of this occurring.

Communication: We have attempted to reach you multiple times, but after you became hostile telling Shannon to "Shut the *** up", we had to resort to emails.

Point of Contact: We can provide a single point of contact for you. Contact our customer service manager in order to rule out any other reps you feel are not up to your standards.
