The area of location for the catalytic convertible was in no way affected by the repair we performed on her air conditioning.  The catalytic converter does not fail overnight but slowly over time   Possibly by repairing the ac the customer is now driving with the windows making the...

cabin much quieter thus enabling her to now hear the pre-existing noise from her worn converter.   We are not responsible for her worn catalytic converter and decline repairing it for free.   Sincerely Cable Dahmer

We have asked the customer to bring the vehicle to our service department to get a diagnoses. Cable Dahmer Automotive Group

I would like to let you know that I am considering this complaint as being resolved. On 9/22/2016, Eli from Cable Dahmer, Independence contacted me and informed me that they would honor the sale price of $4934 and give me the $3500 for my cash for clunkers trade in.  Eli stated that the third party that does their internet pricing entered the price incorrectly.  He stated that the price should have been $7934, not $4934.  He said that even though it was not their error, that they would honor the price.  My husband and I went in on 9/24/2016 and purchased the car for the $4934 minus $3500 for our trade.I want to thank you for helping me on this complaint.  I was pleasantly surprised that Cable Dahmer did the right thing and honored their advertised price and sale. Thanks again,[redacted]

Sorry I could not respond to your email within 30 minutes.  I was at the Royals baseball game.  I am sending this as soon as I got home.  Also, I was called this evening by the Cable Dahmer of KC dealership.  They offered to sell me the car for $5000 but also said that they would...

not allow me to do the $3500 cash for clunkers trade in.  Not sure why because I do qualify for that.

We stand by our original response: The issues the customer is having have nothing to do with the recall. The vehicle is 12 years old and has over 210,682 miles. Any issues the customer has would be considered a customer pay repair.

The customer had his vehicles distributor worked on
by someone other than our dealership. When it was brought to our dealership we attempted
to correct what was previously done incorrectly. The
distributor serves many important purposes and can be the cause of several engine
problems if left uncared for or incorrectly installed. We would be more than
glad to take a second look at the customers vehicle to see if there was
something else that we can do in regard to the repair we performed. Sincerely
[redacted]

The customer came in yesterday and it was discovered that who ever installed the distributor did not install the plug wires correctly. We replaced the bad wire and the vehicle should be fine now. Thank you!

Tell us why here...  The customer’s vehicle was towed to our dealership in a state of disrepair.  The engine was seized/ locked up. He was hoping General Motors would pay for the repairs, however his vehicle did not qualify due to neglect of routine maintenance. He declined repairs. At...

that point we had the vehicle towed back to his home. The customer still owes our dealership for the tow bill. He did not inform our dealership that he was missing any bolts or parts. He has not returned our calls or made a call to our dealership in regard to this concern. Sincerely, Cable Dahmer Automotive

The customer has owned the vehicle for approximately 3700 miles. During this time someone has bent the wheel ultimately damaging the wheel bearing. This is not covered under any type of warranty that the customer has other than possibly her insurance. We did not charge the customer a fee to...

diagnose the vehicle. The matter is closed as far as our dealership is concerned. No further action will be taken on our part. Sincerely, Cable Dahmer Automotive Group

Yes I'm the customer

The 2000 Chevy Fan

going up a hill.

told by [redacted]
[redacted] that he drove the vehicle and could identify would the probably and that
he needed to keep the Van over night.
They gave me Ride
home. The next day I had to call them to get and update on the vehicle. They call me back the next day and told me it was ready said that they had to reset the timing and distributor. The did not fix the Van it's still doing the same issue, and I check with [redacted] and there is no timing for a distributor cap.  If you look at the receipt they just charge labor 275.00 and did not fix the vehicle. I game to you because when pick of the Van they starting laughing and told me I was lucky they did not add a part to it. The best thing was to do is leave and contact you guy's.  [redacted] ###-###-####

As of today, Cable Dahmer of KC has told me that the retail value of the car is $10355.  They have offered to sell me the car for $4934 but said that they would only give me $500 for my trade in.  They claimed that the $3500 for the cash for clunkers has to come off the retail value of the car which I do not believe.  I feel if I was buying a car that has a retail value of $20000 and it was on sale for $15000, they would take the $3500 off of the $15000 and not raise the price back up to $20000 and then take off the $3500.  That's absurd.  The only stipulations on the cash for clunkers is 1986 or newer model and in running condition.  I have a 1992 VW Cabriolet Convertible that is a daily driver for my daughter.  In my opinion, this is similar to when you go shopping at a store and pick out a sweater that is originally $20 but is on sale for $15.  Then the company has a coupon out that is 20% off of your purchase.  The retailer honors both and would never tell the customer that they can't have the sale price plus the coupon or tell the customer that the only way they get the 20% off is if they pay the original price of the sweater.  The cash for clunkers says ANY new or used car.  It does not specify that you have to purchase a certain dollar amount to receive the offer.

Our Service Department Manager is contacting the customer to resolve his concerns. Sincerely, Cable Dahmer Automotive Group

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The vehicle was never repaired by anyone under my ownership. There's only one way to replace a distributor cap it is impossible to even put it on incorrectly. Remember were talking about a cap not the distributor itself. I spoke with a representative and they have agree to look at the vehicle again 8/11/2015 at 8:30. The below link describes the process [redacted]. At any rate the issue with te repair iwas never fix as the vehicle still performs the same the day the vehicle was taken into care. I explan to the repersentive that there manger can test drive the vehicle with me on 8/11/2015.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. they have also fixed my vehicle and paid for all expenses since me getting involved with Revdex.com. the diagnoses of the issue was due to rusted brake and bent wheel hub that was suppose to be fixed prior to me getting the vehicle.

We were able to make the repairs to the customers vehicle on the following Monday at no cost to the customer, and she had a loaner vehicle to drive. We apologized, and let her know a vehicle should have been offered due to the circumstances. We gave the customer a gift card for the inconvenience...

this caused to her. We are happy to have been able to resolve the customers concerns to her satisfaction! Sincerely, Cable Dahmer Automotive
