In July of 2013 we installed seamless aluminum gutters for Mr. [redacted]. Since then, she had a complained that her gutters were leaking. We came out and sealed the corner pieces. Since these are seamless aluminum gutters, they would normally only leak at the corners. More recently she had...

complained again that the gutters were leaking. [redacted], one of our service men, went out to meet her, and after a few visits, it became clear that the problem was not the seal. In fact, the gutters would not catch all of the rain coming off the roof. Some of the water coming off the roof would fall over the gutters. We believe that this is happening for 3 reasons:1) The roof has areas where the shingles do not lay properly.
2) An extra downspout could be added on one side where there is an existing downspout, coming off a dormer and draining into a gutter and finally back into another downspout. We have told her more than once that this is not the recommended way, but she did not want the dormer downspout running directly to the ground.
3) All gutters have a particular capacity, and while these are standard size gutters, severely hard rain downfalls, and other acts of Gods can exceed the capacity of a standard gutter.
We do believe that an oversized gutter and downspout for the front porch area could alleviate this problem. I know first- hand that she had the opportunity to buy these from the beginning as I was the first representative from our company to meet with her.
I have spoken to Ms. [redacted] on more that one occasion. She has screamed and yelled at me more than once and stated she wanted a refund. Regardless of her behavior, it is important to me to try to help her. In fact, [redacted] has set a date to meet her on September 26th 2016 and we are considering helping her by installing 6" gutters and 3"x4" downspouts on the front porch, however, we would expect her to retract her complaint to the Revdex.com and this is not our fault before we would agree to upgrade her gutters. Furthermore, she admitted to [redacted] that the roof on the side was in bad shape and could be adding to the problem of the water from the roof missing the gutter.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/09/25) */
Danley's inspected the crack and it is a hairline crack. According to the back of the signed contract (see attached #13) "Danley's Garage World does not cover cracking, pitting or peeling of any concrete work, willful abuse, injury or...

destruction by fire, windstorm, tornado or any act of God". Nothing can be done at this time. This should not be a valid complaint since the Revdex.com knows that Danley's is not responsible for cracks in concrete.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As I explained before, there is NO WAY this should have happened within 21 days. As for clause #13 first of all nothing like this has happened here. There has not been any catastrophic weather in Chicago for this to happened. Once again I am asking Danley to correct there mistake. This was NOT supposed to happened. I am shocked and applaud at the company not owning up to there concrete mishap. We are simply asking the company to replace the concrete that has the cracks in them or compenstate us, so that we can have another company redo the concrete work.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/10/07) */
Again, this is a hairline crack and per the back of the contract, Danley's is not responsible.

I had my garage built back in May and since the build anytime it rains I get puddles in my garage. They sold me on the fact that quality would be the main priority but when I called them out to fix it, they just put a little caulk on the sides of the door. Of course that did nothing. I continued to call them with no effort on their behalf to make sure they fixed the problem. They have been paid in full and I get no returned phone calls about the problems in my garage. So quality was clearly not their number one priority, money was!
Signed, left out in the rain!

I compared several bids including Danley to repolace my garage in Wilmette and Danley offered the best value for the money.

It was my first time using Danley and working with Paul [redacted] made the entire contract, village permit approval and contruction process reassuring.

Paul made sure he stood behind his product.

He was very responsive and customer foucsed.

I recommend Danley to anyone.

Working with Danley met all my expectations and more: Dave the sales representative worked with me to design the garage I wanted at the price I could afford; he even fixed my mailbox! Once the contract was signed, I was kept informed of the construction date by accurate email communication. Everyone involved in the project, including the clean up crew, was thoughtful and precise. It is a pleasure to work with a company that takes pride in their work.

Consumer beware! The sales person, Aman, was very good at his job and had us sold on the quality of the work that would be done and the professionalism of the company. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. They subcontract all the work. We had 3 different companies coming out to do work which was all poor quality. The cement had to be redone twice and they tried to rip us off and use cheap materials. Good thing we inspected and watched them work otherwise we would've never known. Danley's is supposed to be the general contractor but we ended up doing everything from inspecting work to scheduling sub contractors. It took over a year to get the garage built and they left portions unfinished. They bullied us into paying even though the job wasn't done and we had to go to court. By far, the worst and most unprofessional company I have ever done business with and hope anyone considering using them does their research and hires a better company.

This company is a joke! I highly would not recommend this to ANYONE. Save yourself some money and go to someone else! We have so much unfinished work that has been going on since August. Very slow, poor customer serivce and rude owner! I personally feel that this company should not be in Buisness! Not only am I angry at Danley's I'm angry at myself for thinking this company would do their job right. Absolutely terrible, please stay away folks.

Louis [redacted] came out today for property assessments, he was very professional and knowledgeable about his field of expertise as well as very informative about other things that we needed to know. He represent the brand of Danley's very well.

Danley's already replaced the concrete driveway. We are still working to rectify the other issues.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/06/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the...

business.)
Dear Revdex.com,
I am not satisfied! I sent the below email to Mr. [redacted] on June 23, 2014. I followed up with a phone call to Mr. [redacted] on June 26, 2014 because I received no reply from my email. On June 26th, on the phone, I again referred to the problem with the driveway and the mold in the basement. Mr. [redacted] would not give me a date in which these issues would be corrected. Every conversation he tells me he'll have some take a look at it next next week.
Mr [redacted],
Per our conversation on June 17, 2014, I have contacted a mold testing and restoration company who will present the results in five (5) business days. I have also contacted a concrete specialist, and a home inspector. They both have testified that the concrete has been installed incorrectly. I had no idea that the driveway still represented a problem, but you will see by the pictures the there is standing water that does not drain away from the house. This indicates the pitch on the driveway is still incorrect. Also, the driveway should not have been butted against the line of the window, it should have been below it to prevent water from going into the house.
I have attached pictures, as you gave your word you would correct this work and repair the damages to my home caused by your company's work. I believe you stand by your long standing reputation of 50 years in business.
Thank you.
Regards,
[redacted],Illinois

From this photo you can see how the water never drains from the house even on a sunny day.

Danley's is still in the middle of fixing all the issues.

I have been getting the runaround via messages from my sales rep Aman [redacted] I cannot get a straight answer in regards to a credit to my contract because of changes required by the city. I have called Danley's in regards to this matter. They have said....we will contact the sales rep ,if he does not respond please call us back.....this goes on and on without any success. I will receive a text from the sales rep saying Oh yes I did send the email to you I will have to check........this has been going on and on. I am at the point of canceling my contract.

We had a wonderful experience with Danleys and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a new garage. Our job was large and custom, making it slightly more complex than the average garage build. From start (demo of old garage) to finish, it took about 2 months to complete the job - and this was in the middle of their busy season. Throughout the process, Paul and the rest of his team were communicative and available to address questions or concerns as they came up. Because of the size and scope of our project, a few minor issues popped up, which is to be expected during a large construction project; Danleys and their vendors immediately addressed each concern in a timely fashion and made sure each issue was resolved. The end product is stunning and we couldn't be happier!

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I will need to know which day and time someone will be out to repair the issue.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Final Consumer Response /* (450, 6, 2014/03/11) */
The consumer indicated ONLINE that the business responded to this complaint to his/her satisfaction. He/she also stated:
Danley has finally started to repair my garage. Replaced the shingles that blew off the roof. It's a shame that...

things had to go so far to get a start on fixing it. I am hoping that they do get this fixed completely. And hopefully the concrete gets done correctly and sealed like they said it should have been in the first place. We spent a lot of money on this to have this many problems this early. And I did make a mistake in the beginning on the date. It was finished Aug/Sept 2013.

Not only was I impressed with the initial consultation and the professional manner in which I was treated but in addition the sales person listen to me and listen to my needs had I had my way I probably would've built a larger garage (more money) which he pointed out to me I didn't need for what I was doing and in fact that was the case I have an abundance amount of room with the size that he recommend
he also was extremely easy to work with when it came to the finishes on the garages and again made some suggestions that maybe I would not have thought about that turned out great
But when everyone is waiting for me to say I can say with all honesty
- they built it on time when they said they were going to do it and finished it when they told me they would
I was present for the inspections and all the inspectors could tell that it was built by Danley
Which again only made me feel even better than I already felt
If there is any disappointment it was that I had to wait two weeks for the concrete to cure before I could get my garage put up but I did some research and that was the right thing to do
All and all for me the process was seamless and I already recommended one of my friends

I chose Danley Garage because they have been in business forever
I have nothing but great reviews for the salesman to the crews that came to my house to do the work. They were so polite and respectful. I had the garage done and was so pleased with the workmanship I decided to have the house re-sided and had 19 new windows installed all by Danley. Every crew was the best. I never had a complaint with the men that worked on my house. I recommended Danley to my friends without hesitation.

We used Danley's Garage World this summer (2015) to build a 2-1/2 car garage. The crews that worked on the demolition, building, electricity, etc. were great. However, we can't say the same thing about Danley's Garage World. If you use them, make sure you get every single item into your contract. From removing all the cement (so you don't pay an additional fee for extra cement footings), to when the garage must be completed. Check your platt and see if you need a new one. If yes, get it done on your own before you contact Danley. We used them and not only did we pay a large fee for it, they sent out another bill for us to pay half of that cost. The company is not very professional. They don't return phone calls, don't tell you everything you need to know. If you never built a garage before how can you know what to ask about. The last straw came when two months after the garage was built we received a letter from Danley saying they recommend having our newly poured concrete sealed! We barely got it done before the snow came down. If you must use Danley's Garage World use caution and make sure you get everything in writing!

It will be 5 month's on Aug 12. Since I signed a contract to have a garage built by Danley's Garage world. I signed a contract on March 12, 2016
After numerous calls the garage is still not completed per the contact, specifically
the electrical work.
It took one month for a window that was put in crooked to be repaired.
At this time my calls are not being returned.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: danley garage is using excuse of bad concrete...

because they refuse to caulk like they promised, it's leaking around garage doors and sides I wwas told on several occasions they were to come out never showed up, just a simple caulking and they have recieved their payment but no fulfilled their committment to caulk simple garage.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
