Air conditioner wasn't working Campbell came, looked at it and said the whole unit was fried and the only thing we could do was buy a new one I questioned what he meant by fried and he was like a recording - all he would say was the whole thing was fried and I needed a new unit at a cost of $5, He left as we needed to think about it as it was still supposedly under warranty Campbell installed the unit only years ago and insisted that he file the warranty info and refused to give us a copy or any evidence he filed it at that time I called the manufacturer last week and found out Campbell lied and committed fraud because he had NOT registered our warranty I called him twice a day for days and he never answered or returned my calls to ask some more questions about his diagnosis I had the unit checked by another serviceman and it only needed one part and was repaired for under $in an hour and is working fine

I called Campbell Heating and Plumbing in Rices Landing Pabecause my furnace stopped workingWhen the repairman came he removed both panels on the furnace and attempted to start the furnaceThe blower worked but the furnace would not igniteThe indicator light was blinking timesThe repairman told me that my furnace was not repairable and I would have to buy another furnaceI asked how much did I owe him and he said $I paid him and then he leftI was upset thinking I had to buy a furnaceI then looked at the instructions on one of the panels about the indicator lights and it said it was the high limit switch openI accessed the internet and found out how to reset the switchI reset it and the furnace began working againThe repairman had charged me $for looking at my furnaceThe next day I called their shop and explained the situation to whomever answered the phoneThat gentleman told me that they would not cash the checkI figured I would report this incident because if I didn't seek further help through the internet I may have purchased a new furnace and that wasn't necessary

Review: Air conditioner wasn't working. Campbell came, looked at it and said the whole unit was fried and the only thing we could do was buy a new one. I questioned what he meant by fried and he was like a recording - all he would say was the whole thing was fried and I needed a new unit at a cost of $5,900. He left as we needed to think about it as it was still supposedly under warranty. Campbell installed the unit only 2 years ago and insisted that he file the warranty info and refused to give us a copy or any evidence he filed it at that time. I called the manufacturer last week and found out Campbell lied and committed fraud because he had NOT registered our warranty. I called him twice a day for 5 days and he never answered or returned my calls to ask some more questions about his diagnosis. I had the unit checked by another serviceman and it only needed one part and was repaired for under $300 in an hour and is working fine.Desired Settlement: Campbell reimburse us for the repair, file our warranty and lose his license (if he has one) for committing fraud and lying about the A/C needing replaced at $5,900 when for under $300 is could have been repaired. He is a fraud and a rip off and should not be allowed to remain in business.

Review: On April 20, 2016 I sent a check for $1709 to:

Mr. Joe C[redacted] of Campbell's Heating and Air Conditioning

for the purchase and delivery of a Miller mobile home furnace Model # M5SB066AAW and roof jack, this included the freight charge of $276 for delivery to Hampton Bays, NY. I called Mr. C[redacted] a week later and he told me that the check had cleared and he would call me with the shipping details.

I never heard from Mr. C[redacted] again

Despite repeated calls, he never answered the telephone, only a message stating "C[redacted]s".

This is a case of GRAND LARCENY as described by the New York Police, with whom I have filed a criminal complaint.

I have also written to the Chief of Police in Uniontown, Pa and advised them of this crime and asked if they would be able to get my money back, at least they would know who they have living among them.

I am a 73 year old veteran. My wife and I live on Social Security and now we must now try to make it through next winter with the old failing furnace that we have.

All I wish for is to get my money back, if Mr. C[redacted] no longer has the money that I sent, I will take delivery of the furnace as promised.Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: Dear Mr. [redacted] I have attempted to contact you on three occasions after our initial conversation and have left you messages to return my phone calls. This is in regards to the new furnace you installed back on 1/22/13 in the amount of roughly $4,900.00 for [redacted] at [redacted] On January 7th 2014 you were contacted by [redacted] to investigate and determine why the furnace was no longer providing heat in her home? Your inspection was completed and you informed [redacted] the furnace was not repairable not under warranty and overheated due to clogged filters resulting in your recommendation of a new furnace in the amount of $5,900.00. My aunt is a 66 year old a disabled woman who has limited access to walk up and down the basement steps to inspect the furnace. My aunt also informed me your company has been servicing and repairing the furnace in the home for the past 30 years which is puzzling to me why the filters would be clogged in the first place? After I talked with you originally, I called the manufacture of the furnace [redacted] Electrical and talked to their customer affairs division to clarify why the furnace was not under warranty? They explained all new furnaces installed come with a 5 year parts warranty and requested the serial number to investigate. I provided [redacted] with the serial number [redacted]1 on the furnace unit you installed and they stated the unit was over 5 years old (2008) and no longer under warranty? [redacted] provided me a web site to choice a preferred contractor to inspect and investigate the furnace and its failure. The preferred contractor arrived at Ms. [redacted] residence at [redacted] and inspected the furnace on January 8, 2014. His inspection revealed the following:1. The furnace was over 5 years old and no longer had a manufactures warranty for parts. 2.Only 2 of the 3 elements were wired and functioning on the furnace.3.The contractor is in the process of rewiring the furnace as copper and aluminum wiring were commingled inside the unit and severe safety concern.4.The filers were clogged and replaced by the contractor.5.The furnace was repaired as stated and in full operation for $300.00.Before we attempt to move to resolution on this matter, I would like you to contact me so we can resolve this matter. Please be prepared to provide your explanation on why you installed a 5 year old furnace and charged for a new unit? Why the furnace was installed unsafely with copper and aluminum wiring and why was one of the elements not wired? Why did you determine the unit was not repairable and recommended $5,900 for a new furnace a year later after you installed a new furnace for $4,900.00?Please contact me prior to January 27, 2014 to discuss this matter. Failure to contact me will render no other option but to contact the Revdex.com and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania License Board and report our findings. We will also pursue counsel to retrieve the money paid for a new furnace which was outdated, not energy efficient, and misrepresented as a new furnace installed by your company less than one year ago.Desired Settlement: We would like a settlement on the furnace installed that was reported as new and was older unit and out of warranty. Our settlement request is $1,500.00.
