CampusParc at The Ohio State University Reviews (54)

Mr***, We do apologize for the length of time it took to respond to your initial rejection. We have since put measures in place to ensure Revdex.com complaints are responded to within a timely manner. Attached you will find an analysis report of the citation issued to your vehicle along with other vehicles issued citations in the same area. Based on the southward facing direction of the photographs, if the officer was issuing citations in the wrong row of parking, the entire row would have been cited for parking out of zoneThere were six vehicles cited, including yours, for being parked out of zone in this row at this time of day. Again, had the officer been in the incorrect row issuing citations, it would have resulted in far more vehicles being citedIt is important to understand, that CampusParc does not receive any profits from citations issued to vehicles parked on campus. CampusParc merely enforces the parking rules passed by the Board of Trustees for campus parking. All net proceeds from monies collected from citations are given to the universityIn response to your claim that enforcement officers will issue citations for out of zone parking prior to 4:00pm, this is simply not possible. The equipment that the officers use to issue citations has security features enabled which prevents the officer from being able to adjust any of the settings, including the time. The time is set automatically and synced with the wireless network time, similar to a cell phoneBased on the analysis of the citations and facts surrounding this complaint, we are unable to refund the payment you made for the citation. We understand that this is not the desired outcome, however, we are unable to do anything else on this matter.
Sincerely,
CampusParc Customer Service

***,
We are sorry
to hear you are having difficulty finding parking in the Medical Center garages. As a reminder, you BGpermit also provides surface parking in any B or C surface space on central campus.
We understand that parking in this area can be difficult, as the Medical Center continues to expand there are more staff and patients on a daily basis. CampusParc has not increased the number of student garage permits available for the 9th AveEast or West garage in the four years we have operated parking on campus. The congestion in the garage is due to the increase of employees in the Medical Center since the new tower opened up. Many of the new employees that have been hired on are eligible for the A permit which provides access to these garages We are not permitted to cap the amount of A permits issued, as the University dictates all permit eligibility requirements and limits. With the increase in staff, there has been a corresponding increase in patients as well. The increase in patients has also added more valet spaces in the 9th Ave West garage. The Medical Center has a “Patient First” philosophy, and we are required to facilitate the parking needs of patients and visitors of the Medical Center
If you find that your current is not meeting your needs, you may want to choose a different option. We do have a more affordable permit, the CX, which provides access to the Buckeye Lots at Ackerman and Fred Taylor. There is a Med-Center Express bus that services this area, and will transport you directly to the Medical Center, usually within minutes If you are interested in changing your permit, you can contact our customer service center at ###-###-#### or***
Sincerely, CampusParc Customer Service Center

Similarly to one of the above reviews, one is unable to appeal fines he or she has already paidThis strikes me as unfairI appealed the ticket after paying, and the folks at the desk in the South Campus Gateway were incredibly unhelpfulFirst, they could not even tell me what I did wrong to get the ticket, although they could guessSecond, typically, they say, they have photographic evidence of what someone has done wrong, but there was no such photo associated with my caseThird, they tried to sell me a parking permit for the futureWhen I asked them if this would even meet my needs, they were unsure whether the permit wouldEventually, they decided--on seemingly no evidence--that it wouldBut, they added, they weren't sureThey tried to sell me the pass anywayI shouldn't be surprised that a business that adds no value to anything and exists solely to suck value out of people should function this way

It is so unfortunate that OSU has hired CampusParc with whom to conduct businessJust today, my significant other pulled into an empty parking lot on campus to make a U-turn so that I could get out of the car and walk to work in the building next door (it was more convenient to pull into the parking lot so that he could turn around as opposed to pulling right in front of the building and obstruct traffic)I was crying on the ride over (as I was overwhelmed and stressed about the fact that I had to work on a day when it was vital that I studied for midterms) so we sat in the parking lot for to minutes while I fixed my makeup, and not more than one minute after we had been sitting there (WHILE my partner's foot was still on the brake as the car was still running, and still in drive, and we had not pulled into a parking spot) a CampusParc employee pulled into the parking lot, pulled behind the car, and then up to our window, to ask us if we had a parking passWe told him we were not parked and I was just fixing my makeup and would be leaving in a momentRegardless, he proceeded to write us a ticketI had no idea that pulling into a parking lot to turn around in that you didn't have a parking pass for was a violation, as we were CLEARLY were not parking here, as our BRAKE lights were still on and the car was runningThis was absolutely ridiculousWe were humiliated in the way that the CampusParc employee spoke to usIt is indeed an embarrassment to The Ohio State University to have such a shady business running their parking businessFrom now on, I will NEVER park in ANY CampusParc parking lot on campusEver againI'm only one person, but if other students and employees see this and can join with me, the more the betterIf need be, I will use the parking meters, regardless of convenienceI would much rather give my business to the city of Columbus

Well first of all this complaint was submitted a very long time ago The response they give does not prove I was parked in a B spot Simply saying that is not validating anything The picture they took of the vehicle simply shows my car There is no indication of the row I was in Had I noticed the ticket before I drove off I would have gotten a picture But again, it's not burden to prove I was parked in the right spot, it's their burden to prove I was parked in the wrong spot However, because they can hold my transcript, I'm not really in a position to wait on their responses that don't prove anything Case and point, I have graduated from the university If I waited this long for a response I wouldn't have gotten my diploma
Further, it was stated by the head of the transportation department on a phone call with me that permits are in fact honeypot permits The spots are oversold You pay for the right to park in 'a' C spot if none are available you are directed to go to west campus At which point you have to wait up to minutes for a bus to drive minutes back to campus This was all clarified as the proper course of action with the head of the department after being late to class because there were no spots and I found it unacceptable that I paid for a C permit and I see A and B permits in my spots because their spots are full It wasn't a simple case of them being taken just as I got there either I drove every isle of C parking times over the course of like minus before saw a student walking to their car I had to follow them and take their spot as they left

CampusParc is a horrendous service for students to park at an place of education There service is less than par to the price that is being paid to attend the university and to be able to park at the university They enforce whatever laws they want to profit the the most from What I mean by this is that they will enforce the law when parking in a handicap space but will not enforce the law of a two vehicle being able to park in a car parking spotIn other words a motorcycle by law is allowed to park in a car space but CampusParc will give a citation if you park a motorcycle in a car space They shut down student parking areas doing peak hours on a school day (8:am) for special events So they are double profiting off the money they received from the students that normally park in those areas which aren't receiving service to those areas and receiving new profits from people parking in those areas during the special eventsTheir values and objectives that are read from their About Us Form is a misguide attempt to show they are they are caring to the students In their form the mission is to provide safe, secure, efficient parking on campus I find it hard to believe the efficient parking from the amount of complaints received from Revdex.com and from other sources there is to park at the university Shutting down parking areas during peak hours of the day for students parking (because of special events) it is more difficult to find parking spaces in your parking zoneThis makes it very efficient to park on campus students to park up on campus They claim to embrace professionalism, change, and flexibility and strive to exceed expectations If their expectations is to have a negative view they are exceeding it the very well They are not striving to be professional or to make changes to a more positive side from the amount of complaints received from this Revdex.com and other sources They claim to be continuous improving quality of service and parking experience instead they lack customer services and properly having parking signs up in all parking lanes to indicate what parking zones that lane isI am in agreement with the pattern of complaints received by Revdex.com to CampusParc They fail to communicate areas of available parking during times special events for students trying to attend classes Lacking customer services to help during disputes or help in services They do not wish to improve their services from Revdex.com attempts to email them and not spending to emails to address the pattern of complaints directed at their businessCampusParc are a very unprofessional service and glad I won't be applying to their services again

Campus Parc is a vile, mafia-like business that exists solely to collect profit and screw over customersParking passes are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced, and customer service is insultingly badCampus Parc often closes lots for events, resulting in many students not able to find parking and therefore missing classThe gates at the garages have a tendency to break (so obviously this business doesn't spend any of it's massive profits on infrastructure), and the garages themselves are so overpriced it's actually funny (like how can you possibly think charging $an hour is acceptable? What is wrong with you people!?!?)If I worked at Campus Parc, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing what a terrible company it isI seriously don't understand how a business can care so little about its customers

[redacted],
Your citation is currently under appeal and awaiting review.  While a citation is under appeal, you can purchase your permit so you can continue to park on campus.  We encourage you to do this immediately before the appeal is reviewed.  If you get your permit...

ordered prior to the appeal being finalized, the citation will be reduced to a Failure to Register violation, which carries a fine of only $7.50.Sincerely,
CampusParc Customer Service Center

The meter monitors for campus parc wait near soon-to-expire meters and pre-emptively write parking citations. My meter expired at 8:21pm and the ticket time was 8:21pm.... avoid parking on campus if at all possible. Walk and save yourself the $31.25 parking ticket they will most likely give you.

I paid for a parking pass for the year, which was also good into summer semester, or so I thought. Apparently the parking passes expired before the end of exams, so during exam week I parked where I normally do, and receive a ticket. That it completely ridiculous! Apparently a new pass is required by August 1st and my last exam was August 5th. The parking lot was only 4 percent full, and fall semester does not start for another few weeks. They couldn't even extend the validity of our parking passes so we can finish exams. Also, I am graduating in a few days, so I have no need to buy another pass. I appealed the ticket and it was reduced to $35. Also, I previously received two tickets in the same week for an unregistered vehicle, even I was registered. I got one reduced and the other one reduced, I shouldn't have to had paid anything! I was registered! These people are crooked and are only out to make money!

CampusParc has responded directly to the individual that filed this complaint (see attachment #2).  We have also attached supporting documentation which shows the location of the No Parking sign, along with the individuals vehicle parked in this area.  The enforcement manager has reviewed...

the citation and surveyed the parking area.  He has found this to be a valid citation in accordance with the Codified Parking Rules and Regulations approved by the Board of Trustees  of OSU in June of 2014.  We understand that receiving a citation is an unpleasant experience, however, CampusParc is bound to by an agreement with OSU to enforce all parking rules on campus, 24/7.Sincerely,Zach E[redacted]Director of AdministrationCampusParc LP

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.  Although the pictures presented in the document are not really proving anything because I can not count the rows of cars and those signs would be visible from another row out into the green parking area or even another row into the orange parking, I will accept that other students paid and were in the same row.  Six cars in the same row in the same day seems a bit off to me.  It seems like if that many people were issued a citation it was probably the guy in the wrong row.  No one would contest it because just look at how much effort I've put into  this and gotten nowhere.  B parking passes are allowed to park in C so perhaps there were many B permits using up a row in C parking and the issuer became confused after seeing so many B passes.  In any case, I can't seem to reason that this is not proof of guilt and I'm apparently left with the burden to prove my innocence on the matter because I was forced to admit and pay a fine in order to graduate.  I can't prove that I wasn't in the wrong spot anymore than you can prove that I was.

I am rejecting this response because: I did try to renew on their website and believed that I had done so according to their rules. They have done this exact same thing to at least 3 of my peers that I work with. I believe the problem is on their end and that it is unacceptable that I should be required to pay for their mistake.Regards, [redacted]

The customer submitted photographic evidence of an alleged...

CampusParc employee sleeping in a vehicle.  While this could not be substantiated by CampusParc, we did address the issue with the enforcement officer working during that time.  This matter has been handled internally with the employee.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.

Thiefs!! Depending on the permit you purchase you have to pay $400+ per year to park. When you get to work it takes 20-45 minutes of driving in circles to find a parking spot. I have to get to work AT LEAST an hour early to drive around looking, follow people to their cars, get in fights over parking spots. Its INSANE! If I HAVE to pay 400.00 a year just to park my car at my job, I expect to at least be able to find a spot, and not have to worry about being late due to parking. Absolutly absurb!

This company has greatly misplaced its priorities and doesn't care at all for the employees and students that pay them for their "services". When an essential hospital employee, required to take care of dying patients is forced to park miles away and then not even have the courtesy of a shuttle after his or her shift ends late into the night, there is something seriously wrong wtih that organization. A nurse, who works in the new James emergency department taking care of people with cancer, can't find a parking spot within a mile walking distance to the hospital because of the restrictions placed on employee parking. Oh, and if you have to work on a day there's an event or football game, those same life-saving employees will be turned away from the very parking garages or lots for which they pay their fees to park and have to park even farther away than they already normally have to because the company wants to make more money on selling those spots to the game/event goers. These are sick practices for a company that only seems to care about making more money as is clearly shown by their mission statement: "To provide safe, efficient (haha) campus parking and good stewardship (haha) of the parking system assets and to ACHEIVE THE INVESTMENT EXPECTATIONS OF OUR INVESTORS".

The permit holder was parked in an area of the parking lot that required a "B" permit.  Customer had a "C" permit, which cannot be used to park in the area until after 4:00pm.  The citation was issued at 3:04pm.  There is a sign at the end cap stating the requirement of a "B"...

permit.  CampusParc does not oversell the "C" permit.  There are always available spaces to park on campus, however, those spaces may not be in the most desired area in which the customer would like to park.

The South Cannon garage was restricted to patient and visitor parking until 4:00pm on weekdays.  If a permit holders pulls an entry ticket to gain access to the garage when their permit is not valid, they are responsible for the hourly parking fees incurred.  The customer attempted to gain...

entry to the garage at 3:58pm, after the gate would not raise, she pulled an entry ticket and proceeded to park.  The customer could have parked in the surface lot across the street from the garage or in the 9th Ave West garage.

I parked in their lot and used the pay machine to pay for my parking.
The machine seemed to work fine but didn't print a receipt. After calling to ask what to do, the gentleman told me I didn't need a receipt in the vehicle because they would have my license plate number on file.
When I got back to my car, I had a ticket. I appealed the ticket produced my credit card charge and then they replied that I didn't enter my license information correctly. Without a receipt, I don't have proof that I did but I double checked it visually before completing my transaction. I always make it a point to do that because their machines are notorious for skipping keypad input.
They finally reduced my fine to $7.50 but I shouldn't have had to pay anything since I paid correctly the first time. If their machine had worked right and given me a receipt I would have the proof of that.
