Finalized cabinet design Jan2017, installed Oct2017, it's April 2018 and still can't use appliances. Cabinets still not to spec-Captiva unable to fix
Jan 2017 finalize cabinets with Captiva. Oct 2017 home owner arrives to find cabinets not built to appliance specs. Nov 2017 Captiva attempts to modify - doesn't work - Captiva orders new face pieces but can't install until Mar 2018. Captiva installs new face pieces and fillers to work with appliances in March 2018. The appliance co still unable to install appliances. Cabinet openings are too big on some and too small and rubbing on others. Shelves and steam chases were hand cut exposing wood edges. No edge banding. We were told the wrong size cabinets were ordered - Captiva unwilling to correct. Mold noted behind refrigerator and freezer due to incorrect cabinet size. 3rd party independent expert verified that there are serious issues with the cabinets, confirming there will be mold issues with steam oven and coffee maker.
cabinets can't be modified - Captiva came out 4 times and cannot remedy. Asking for a refund for the cabinets.

We only built the kitchen cabinets to the customer's builder specification. The builder is the one who installed the cabinets and installed them wrong. The cabinets that we made are the ones the customer wanted and signed off on.

Captiva Design was hired to design a kitchen to work with the kitchen dimensions and the dimensions of the ordered appliances. The cabinets provided are the wrong size and cannot accommodate the appliances. Appliances are still not installed 6 months later. A 3rd party independent expert was hired and verified we have serious issues with the cabinets.
Thank you for the call. Attached is the invoice for the cabinets (kitchen, 3 bathrooms, laundry room). The cabinets and installation have been paid in full. Also attached is a letter from their attorney stating the cabinets purchased did not have good tolerance and were low grade cabinets. This was never explained to us - we believed we were purchasing high quality cabinets with finished edges (not exposed wood) and would fit our appliances.
