On December 2nd our Manager followed up with [redacted] regarding the overseeding.Please see correspondence below from our Manager:Concerning your over-seeding that took place, unfortunately it’s too late in the year to reapply the seed especially with the temperatures barely making the freezing mark next weekHowever, we will be out first thing in the spring to completely redo the aeration and the over-seeding of your entire lawn at absolutely no cost to youI can assure you we will do whatever it takes to make sure you are completely taken care of and overly pleased with the results of our effortsPlease note, I credited back your account for the full cost of the aeration and the over-seed that was originally completedYour account now shows a zero balance for those servicesI have enclosed a copy of your updated statement which reflects the creditAdditionally, moving forward, I would like for you to utilize me as your primary contactIf you ever have a question regarding your service or if there is anything at all I can do for you, please let me knowI will always go out of my way to ensure you are an overly satisfied customer for years to come We believe the matter has been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction

On 9-22-our account manager spoke with [redacted] about her concernWe rendered a fall core aeration and over-seeding for her property and have a slice seeding scheduled for mid OctoberThis Revdex.com complaint was the first we heard about Debbie's dissatisfaction but we have worked diligently with [redacted] to ensure she is happy We believe this matter has been resolved to the customer's satisfaction

I am sorry I have not been able to respondJan 8, my dear aunt passed away, she was As co-executor of her will, I have been helping her sister (80), with the attorney and clearing out her apartmentIn addition, my son who lives at our house, underwent back surgery the Thursday after my aunt's death which had complications resulting in another surgery the following ThursdayI am mentioning this so you will know, providing a quick response is not always possible, especially for a year old person whose presence is necessary for family in need.Regarding the complaint, I would like the following statement added to the history.1.It was not the concreteThe concrete contractor is very reputable and has done much work in our neighborhood and the other homes who have used this contractor, the concrete looks goodHe came out and checked our concreteHe noticed in addition to the pitting, a brown liquid filling the pitting in parts of the drivewayHe bend over to check it further and remarked that the fertilizer had dissolved the sealer he had appliedHe said the concrete should last but the pitting could get worse, which it hasWe have a 2-car garage driveway which was replaced 7-6-12.This was a newly poured driveway; only about months old when Cardinal fertilized and left a lot of fertilizer on the drivewayThe driveway looked great until fertilizer incident.3.Cardinal did not mention in their response letter how many customers of nearly 70,service visits had driveways less than a year old, nor how many were the granule fertilizer verses the liquid they useOr, did he tell the concrete company he contacted this was a driveway less that one year old and the particular week the fertilizer was applied, the temperature was very hotI mention this because we were not able to use the HEAT driveway ice melt this year as it specifically states not to use it on driveways less than a year old.4.It is very expensive to pour a new driveway, and hopefully it will lastIt will still have pittingIt is disappointing to save money for years to replace a much needed repair such as a two-car driveway, only to have it marred because of careless workers.It appears that because of Cardinal's denial of responsibility, it is useless to pursue do to our lack of financial ability to pursue on a legal basisBut, there is no doubt their use of a product that creates heat damaged our new driveway and an older existing patio

This has got to be one of the worst companies you ever do business Their tactics is door to door sales and get you hooked for first year, and in fact the first year they do alright I think because you don't prepay and they are on their best behavior The 2nd year, they try to encourage you to prepay for services and say you get a large discount Once you prepay, this is when they really shaft you by providing services you never requested or extra charges you never signed and bill you for them Then they raise the rates and make excuses why they cannot honor the prices you already prepaid them do to For me, they didn't even do the back yard on the last treatment If you complain to them and wish to severe ties with them, any money you paid from prepayment is kept by them and they say you aren't entitled to a refund because it was based on blah blah blah This is not just my opinion I checked out the other locations and I didn't find anything wron with them This appears to be the Gahanna, Ohio (Central Ohio) area I think the problem revolves around their office manager and upper management in this area They are in my opinion one of the most dishonest companies I have recently encountered locally There are so far complaints with similar experience to me on Revdex.com(Reviews and Complaint) and with mine, there are Reviews and complaint I was going to put it under Scam but feared this would not get the attention of readers because most read the reviews first In my opinion and based on the other reviews, I really believe they all need to be under scam section One review called this a bait and switch, I think he is right on and this is why I feel this is more of a scam Their sales tactics is very high pressure type If they show up at your door or you have agreed to have them do some work for you, cancel it The problem seems to be more of a local issue with the Gahanna, Ohio office location I couldn't find any other issues anywhere else and I must say, when they do what they say they will do, they actually do a good job -which is really unfortunate how they do business I have personally contacted the attorney general's office and explained to them my experiences with them what I believe is a scam or at the very least unethical/illegal business practices In the past months, at least (including myself) have gone on this site to explain it and have very similar experiences so I believe this maybe a systematic problem (at least locally in central Ohio) others are also having I would avoid this company completely I have dealt with other lawn services and never had a problem with their billing or service offerings I wasn't happy with their results, but never had any issues about their business practice, with Cardinal Lawns, it's just the opposite

Our managers have made several attempts over the past days to contact Mrs*** with no success, however, they have sent a detailed email addressing her complaintPer her request, a refund check in the amount of $was sent to the address on fileThe amount covers the $she
had originally prepaid with us, as well as, the additional $she spent out of pocketAdditionally, our Manager cancelled her account and we will not return to her lawn for any reasonI believe the matter has been resolved to her satisfaction

Our manager spoke with the Mrson August 11th, She expressed her concerns about wild violets in the lawnOur manager discussed with her that wild violets are one of the most difficult weeds in the lawn to get rid of and that it will take a couple different treatments towards fall to
get rid of themOur Manager has put her account on his priority list, issued a full refund which will be mailed out today, August 15, 2017, and addressed all her other concernsWe believe the matter has been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction

Our manager spoke with Mr *** on 1-12-He apologized for the problems and ensured that all services are canceled outFurthermore, our manager placed his account on our do not contact list, removed all information out of our data base and assured we would not contact him in the
futureOn 1-12-our manager mailed out a refund for $We believe the matter has been resolved to his satisfaction

This company came up to me while I was working in my yard claiming to have done the work in several of my neighbors yards Promised me this great deal to make my lawn look nice full and free of weeds Gave me a flat rate for a years worth of applications with no charges for the extras I paid them in full for one year of applications, however, they keep billing me for additional applications and we are still in that same first year of treatments I guess that's how they make their moneyWell I still have weeds that are out of control in several areas in my front and back yard Please do not get caught up in this company Their promises and deals are a scam

Our manager spoke with the *** and apologized for them receiving the account statementHe also apologized for them having to clean up any leftovers fertilizer granules on the driveway During the conversation, he addressed the concrete concerns and let Mr and Mrs *** know that the
fertilizer product 100% did not damage their concrete. Our company does has done nearly 70,service visits per year for the past years and products are always in contact with driveways and sidewalksWe contacted a reputable concrete company and they ensured us that our products did not damage their concreteThey said more than likely the concrete finisher who installed the concrete made some mistakes when finishing We have credited the customers account to a zero balance and believe the matter has been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction

Our manager, Brian S*** spoke with Mr*** on April 7th to discuss the phone callsOur manager apologized for the issue and removed all information in our system regarding Mr***' accountWe believe the matter has been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction

I hope as you say training helps others who may suffer the fate we suffered. I believe the problem is no follow through on complaints and no follow through on what was promised each time some one came to us with promises of a solution. The situation became a management problemfrom the beginning. I am sorry you found my "horrible people" statement so offensive, but that is what I felt after receiving so many promises and. "NOT ONE" person followed through. I do not wish any harm to your company and I do hope this becomes a huge learning experience for Upper Management to follow through. I know we are all busy in our lives and I am sure your management were also busy in theirlives. Before becoming disabled with MS I was in a management position for many years and one thing I was known for was my follow through on problems. Hopefully someone on your team takes this seriouslyand follows through for your customers. I do appreciate the refund and I am sorry it had to come to this. I wanted great service and I needed the lawn services you had promised. Take care dear fellows andhopefully a lesson was learned by all.

Cardinal Lawns came to my house and quoted in writing that they would charge $39 per application to treat my yard. Two weeks later they called and said the price would be $55 per application. Bait and switch company.
