signed up with this company to pay off some of my debts. payed $5600 for the past 8 months and only $1 is in my so called settlement account.
Been paying this company $800 plus and month to help me settle some debt. after about 8 months and $5600 in. I have not receive any settlements. I called all my credit card company and ask if anyone that is representing me from Carolina legal service in the past 8 months have contacted them. and they all said no one have. they have not receive any power of attorney, not even one. what have they been doing for the past 8 months. this company is a rip off. called and ask what is going on and got hung up on a few times, then was told I don't have enough funds in my account for a settlement and they want me to add more money. I ask how much is in my account right now. they said $1.17 and that there are fees for there services about $700 in fees ever month. so I make a 800 payment and month and they take out $700 in fees how is that helping anyone? so thing I have got in the past 8 months is bad credit because they said to stop paying my cards every month.

Desired Outcome

All I want is my money back so I can pay off at least some of my debts.

Company offer legal services and debt relief, they charged me $7000.95 in a 2 year period and never reduced my deb or helped me in court like we agree
I received an offer in the mail to reduce my debts from this company, first they asked me to stop paying my debts so that my accounts were closed, I made payments to this company for almost 2 years and they never reduced or paid any of my debts with almost $7000.95 dollars sent to Global holdings a company that was collecting the payment to later send it to Carolina Legal Services who they call the host and did not see any results I chose to close my account to get my money back and today I received a check for $ 114.82 so the following is legal action in court. My credit is destroyed thanks to this company and they also want to steal the $7000.95 dollars that they were charging me to reduce and cancel my debts, I recommend staying away from this company I contacted Global first an was told that they have no liability because they only collect the money and send payments to whom the host tell them to , of course the host take the money and do literally nothing that they agreed in the first place, after I called Global with no luck to recover my money I call Carolina Legal and ask them where my money go? And the answer was that they have expenses and they used to cover the expenses. I Didn't get any results from this companies and Only loss my credit and my money , I was only trying to get relief and trust them but It was a scam so I want my money back

Desired Outcome

I just want my money back

We have resolved this matter to the clients satisfaction.

This business does not communicate or go by their own contract. They have specifically acted against my wishes and continue to withhold my funds.
First of all, this company dragged their feet for nearly 2 years before even working on my account. All this of course as they charged me monthly for nothing. When I was able to add extra funds to settle debts, they did not return my calls or emails. Taking an exorbitant amount of time so they can continue to collect fees upon fees. When they had reached a tentative settlement for 3 of my debts I told them specifically NUMEROUS times that I did NOT APPROVE them and I wanted to cancel my contract and have my money returned. CLS approved the settlements AGAINST my wishes, paid the debts and still have not contacted me in any way. The contract states I would receive my funds back within 7 business days of cancelling the contract and of course, they have spent a good portion of it and have not returned the rest. And it has been well more than 7 business days. No one calls me when I ask them to, no one emails me to notify me of anything, and every time I call in I am connected to a representative who cannot do anything and always gives me different information that the one before. I just want my ties cut with this company asap and my money back. I have never felt so disregarded as a customer. They took advantage of me when I was extremely vulnerable and I am ashamed to say I even agreed to the contract in the first place.

Desired Outcome

I want my remaining funds returned asap and no further contract with this company. Stop charging me bogus monthly fees while you drag your feet. I want my money returned as I am entitled to it!

The client has been unresponsive to our attempt to contact her. We encourage her to return our attempts to resolve the matter to their satisfaction.

After spending almost $10,000 with this company, we have received no service and cannot even get a call back.
My husband and I have been a client of Carolina Legal Services for about 18 months. We have paid them almost 10,000.00 by bank draft and have received nothing but empty promises in return. This company promised to noigiate with our creditors and have only presented 2 options with 1 creditor. Both offers were presented to us only after calling, complaining, and threatening to stop future payments. Then they magicly provided us with an offer a few days later. The frist was a seetlement of $13,000 (Ashely was negotiatior) for a $20,000 debit which sounds good except the monthly payments would continue to grow with the last 4-5 payments being $1,500.00 each month which is utterly ridiculous. The offer a few weeks latter, again after threatening to cancel future payments, came from a new negotiator (Shantel) was for $16,500 but would require us to pay a $270.00 more than the $689.96 a month we are already paying. My husband first asked what about the $13,000 previously offered and Shantel stated there has been no other offers. My husband advised Shantel that Ashely had sent us an email the day before about the $13,000 offer after speaking with Jarod a supervisor. Finially after about 6-7 minutes, Shantel stated she saw that Ashley was handling this before, but it has now been assigned to her. Shantel stated this is a good offer now and she had been on the phone for almost 45 minutes. My husband advised that we were not willing to pay more as her company has not kept any promises made to us so far and that we counld not pay that much more anyway. Shantel again stated this is the best she can do and if we want to remove this bill and handle it ourselves we could. My husband advised this is only 1 of 2 bills that we needed the most help with or we would not have went with her company. Shantel stated this is a large amount and we should except to pay more each month to have this settled. He advised Shantel that we have 6 other debts with them that they have done nothing about and this is less than half of our debt. He stated the 689.96 a month was the amount they approved to be needed to handle our entire debt and now they are saying that $270.00 more is needed on just for this 1 debt. Shantel again advise us that she has done everything she can and the rest is up to us. (So I guess that almost $10,000 we have paid so far is only worth 45 minutes of their time?) My husband told her that we would wait to speak to Jarod (a Carolina LegalServices Supervisor) who had promised that he would see what he could do and call us back on thursday, but like the other times, that call never came.
Our paperwork from Carolina Legal Services that we received upon signing up with them state that on day 1, we would receive an introductory attorney phone call, 18 months later we have not spoken to a Caronlina Legal Services Attorney. It states that on month 2, we would receive a Monthly Check-in call, on Month 3 we would receive a "Strategy Call" to walk us through a plan for our creditors, month 4 a monthy check-in call, and on month 5 a monthy check-in call, and then between month 6-9 the 1st settlement. We have not received any of these calls.
We beleive this company took advantage of us during a time of financial crisis as we were unable pay our bills. It is obvious from Shantel's comments that her company never intended to settle our debts for the money that they had lead us to believe, this is a horrible business practice that has cost us $10,000 with nothing but broken promises to show for it and leaving us in worse shape finicially with our creditors than we were in before we heard of Carolina Legal Services. My husband stopped our next payment after speaking with Shantel and we plan to cancel the entire plan on Monday as they still cannot even return a call.

Desired Outcome

We want a complete refund and to have this complany out of our lives and bank account. We expect a refund of all the money we have paid to Carolina Legal Services, as we have not received $50.00 worth of services in the 18 months which we have paid almost $10.000 We would like a refund of all money drafted out of our account in the amount of $9785.44.

I have accepted the response from Carolina Legal.

Me and my wife Pamela hired CLS on February 26, 20919 to assist us with resolving our credit card debt with 5 companies.
We've been paying CLS by bank draft $479.31 per month for a total of 13 months. During this time we never received any representation in debt settlement. We contacted via phone, via email asking for assistance and sent settlement offers that were sent directly to us requesting them to respond on our behalf since they took over handling debt settlement. No action was taken. We asked for an attorney and were denied representation. On February 4, 2020, *** received a CIVIL SUMMONS about appearing in court on March 5, 2020. We called requesting assistance and the call center could not answer our question on how to handle. We asked for an attorney to call us back after several attempts to talk to customer service and Customer Service informed us that we would not have legal representation. We immediately informed that we are opting out of the program. We contacted a personal attorney who wrote a letter on Februrary 27, 2020 see attached file. CLS has completely ignored the attorney letter as well as continuing sending promotional reminders to keep putting money into that account.

Desired Outcome

The total amount CLS drafted from our personal account is $6,231.81. Since CLS performed no action in representation or resolution we requested a full refund. We are currently handling our debt resolution ourselves. We need this full refund to apply to pay off our settlement accounts.

This has been resolved to the satisfaction of the client.

I was a client of this company for over a year, and gave them over $11,000 to settle my accounts, and only one account was settled for $1,176.
I signed a contract with this company on March 12, 2019 to help resolve credit card debt. Since then, they have drafted over $11,000 from my bank account, and have only settled one account in the amount of $1,176.00. After signing up, the company basically disappeared. I only remember a couple calls from my supervising attorney, and only one email updating me about my accounts. At minimum, the fees each month were costing me $454.89. I trusted this company to help me, and they failed miserably. Even at the promised rate of settling accounts after 6-9 months, they had over 11 grand of my money and failed to do so. I lost my dad unexpectedly, and this is what led to my hardships. I told them this, and they even offered condolences, and then made my situation worse. I recently became suspicious of what was going on, and asked for an account activity statement to review. I was mortified when I saw all the money that I had given them, and how little they had done. I immediately called to cancel my contract, and explained my grievances. The gentleman that I spoke with said "well, you signed the contract so you should have known." I feel that they took advantage of me in a low time of my life, and, after reading the other complaints, I see they have also done this to several others. This is terrible business practice, and I have paid for a job that was not completed, and feel I am entitled to at least a partial refund. I wanted to begin with the Revdex.com before seeking other legal council to deal with this matter.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of my monies paid because the job was not completed. There is no way that I have used over 11 grand worth of services from this company.

The company resolved my complaint to my satisfaction in a timely and professional manner.

Refund promised still nothing arrived.
I I have placed 2 separate calls with Carolina legal and have had two emails as well, that leads up to this complaint, this is debt settlement company, they were going to start working with me with some creditors, there were 2 months of deposits sent to Carolina totaling $600. The original debt was handled separately and resolved, the debt that they had quoted me on, I called them told them this and asked they run numbers on other debt that has already been enrolled with another company to see if they could get me a better payment and rate, they were not able to come in better, this being said I at this time cancelled my enrollment.
I made some later calls about getting a refund of the deposits since the program had just started and there were no fees or work done so early in the program. I was told by one associate that since there was no contact with the creditors and no ground work done and it was so early that I should get a full refund, so I was referred, then another associate called and I was told I would only be able to get $300 that I would never get the full refund, So that being said it was agreed that I would get $300 back, so once again I was referred was left a message by a Meagan on 3.12.2020 to call about how I would like my refund, I returned the call and spoke to another gentlemen who says he will let *** know as to how I would like the funds dispersed. I am filing this complaint because after multiple times of reaching out I have not received any refund and or any call backs to resolve this situation..

Desired Outcome

I would absolutely like the entire refund of $600 I was denied, however if there is a disclosure that says I am not entitled to get a full refund and only a partial that I do not know about I would like to see it, because I have not found it in the papers I signed, if indeed there is such a statement then I would like to at a minimum get what I was told I would receive which is the $300... All these conversations should by law be recorded at their facility...

Breach of Contract
In May of 2019 Carolina Legal Services promised to negotiate with my debtors and bring a resolution to each of my accounts. I had a total of four accounts that I enrolled in the program. Since then they have failed to do anything with any of my accounts except one with BB&T bank in which they promised to pay by monthly drafting of my checking account. They were supposedly paying BB&T bank in 12 monthly installments starting January of 2020. I thought they were doing this until I received a letter in the mail from BB&T demanding the amount in full from non payment. I immediately called Carolina Legal Services upon receipt of the letter and they said the auditors told them not to make any payments and that they would have a negotiator reach out to me first thing the next morning in which they never did. They never even called or sent me a letter to let me know they weren't making any payments until I received this letter from BB&T demanding payment in full for non payment. Since I started with these people back in May of 2019 they have done absolutely nothing for me. I had to call BB&T myself and apologize for Carolina Legal Service's irresponsibility in making the payments and asked if we could go back to the original negotiation and I would agree on making the payments myself. I also had to negotiate two of my other accounts that I had enrolled in the program because of their dragging it out to collect more fees. Since May of 2019 I have paid into Carolina Legal Services a total of $4,297.00 and they have done absolutely nothing for me at all. I am asking for all $4,297.00 I've paid into Carolina Legal Services be returned to me as I consider this to be a breach of contract.

Desired Outcome

I am asking for all $4,297.00 I've paid into Carolina Legal Services be returned to me since I consider this to be a breach of contract.

Not providing services promised. I was told Carolina Legal Services (CLS) would handle communication and correspondence with my debtors on my behalf, and was instructed not to talk directly to them. I was instructed to forward all correspondence from debtors to CLS without delay so they can act in a timely manner. I have come to find out that in actuality they have just been collecting my money and not actually contacting my debtors. I was served a summons by a county sheriff and the law firm serving the debtor nor the debtor had even heard from CLS one time in 10 months of being under contract with CLS. CLS is violating terms they agreed to in writing. Additionally, I have not been receiving the monthly counseling phone calls I was notified were mandatory. They have not made contact with me a single time in 4 months since being served a judgement that resulted from the summons. I have called and spoke to several different people in customer service every week since Dec 2019 with promises of someone from litigation contacting me with updated information.

Desired Outcome

Desired Outcome I would like a full refund of all money paid for services not rendered. $14774 of my money has been collected to this point. And a full letter to all Credit Bureaus of their mishandling of my accounts with results of a clear credit report and rating score.

Carolina Legal Services Response • Feb 25, 2020

We have been unsuccessful in our attempts to reach the client to resolve the matter.

Failure to deliver on contractual and verbal agreements.
I began working with Carolina Legal Services because they claimed going through them would reduce the total amount I would end up paying on my collective credit cards by assisting with settlements. I was told what they would keep of the money we were putting aside was dependant on settlements reached and how much they had been reduced from the original standing. 8 months later I called the company to get an update as to what was happening with the $308 I was paying monthly as no settlements had been offered since starting with Carolina Legal Services. They told me a small portion was being put away for fees and the rest would be used to fund a settlement once reached. They said one settlement had been reached and that I was to deal directly with the creditor. Carolina Legal Services would not be involved. I had had enough, Carolina Legal Services had done nothing for me in 8 months except tell me to contact a decrypt directly. Meanwhile, I had $2,400 in my account. I asked to cancel with them and receive my funds. They said they would comply but could not produce a number figure as to what my refund would be. 10 days later they deposited $9 into my account. EVERYTHING I had paid went to fees. I called them demanding a refund because I had ALWAYS been told by them that fees were only a percentage of my monthly payment and that they had literally done nothing involving my case. They agreed to a $1,000 refund and I figured that beat the entire $2,400 being taken from me. I was sent paper work to sign. I signed and returned the paper work same day. When I called to verify receipt of the paperwork same day I was told the funds would be sent to my account within 7-10 business days. That was December 5th. I have called numerous times to find out what is going on and keep being lied to. Please help!.

Desired Outcome

I want the refund that is owed to me.

They promised to provide a service to negotiate debt with our creditors on our behalf. They called not one of them and took $7400 from us!
Back in In August of 2019 they met with us said if we paid them $1800 a month for 5 years they would negotiate deals on our behalf with creditors and money in a 3rd party account accumulated. We ask them to call creditors and they never did. After paying them over $7000 they say $6000 went to fees. They would not return phone calls or e-mails. Don't want anyone else to go through what my wife and I have. This is not a above board business and needs to be run out of business.

Desired Outcome

We expect a full refund of the monies we paid. If they are not willing to refund the full amount they need to provide itemized bills of where our money went. I spoke with them last week and they said they would send a refund check of over $2000, where is that money and why only a quarter of what we paid?

Carolina Legal Services Response • Dec 26, 2019

We have resolved this matter to the clients satisfaction.

We paid them over 7k and they did nothing and don't even return phone calls. They take advantage of people who are trying to pay off their debt. Such a shame! Checking with the Federal Trade Commision on this company. Can't believe businesses like this are even legal. Stay away from these people.

I've been working with them since June of 2018 and NONE of my cards are paid off. I'm very unhappy and now cops are showing up at my house and I'm having to pay the cards that they are supposed to pay!

HIRED THEM TO HELP WITH DEBT RELIEF. I AM IN A WORSE PLACE NOW WITH MY CREDITORS THEN WHEN I STARTED.
I am 67. I wanted to start working part time. I thought debt relief would be a good way to make it happen. I went with the lawyers because I thought they would do the best job for me. They told me to stop paying on the accounts THEY chose to work on. They set the monthly payment which I thought the majority would go to settling my debt. My payment to them is 498 a month. Out of that they take more then half in fees. I was told there would be a flat fee of 995 and 10.95 monthly for clerical work. I have received several judgements via Sherriff deputies at my front door. So embarrassing, When I tried to discuss this with them they asked for more money. I am in a worse place now then when started. I have also received a exempt application. Called them and was told I need to fill it out and send it back. No guidance what's so ever. I feel I have gotten scammed by a office I thought would help me. These guys are thieves. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Desired Outcome

I want out of this contract along with a refund of my monies. I also need a detailed summary of everything that has taken place so I know what I need to do with any accounts they may have worked. How much has been paid to my creditor's out of the 8466.00 they have taken.

Carolina Legal Services Response • Nov 25, 2019

We are working with the client to resolve this matter to their satisfaction.

Failure to deliver service
I contracted with Carolina Legal Services (CLS) in May of 2018 for assistance with debt negotiation. In the "Welcome" brochure provided when signing up for the service, it states the following:
As we work on your behalf, you can count on us to do the following:
- We will negotiate with your creditors and defend your best interests.
- We will courteously answer your questions in a timely manner.
- We will treat you with respect at all times.
At the outset of the program, CLS looks at all of the accounts that you want to enroll in its' program, and comes up with a monthly figure of what they estimate to be what a customer needs to pay in order to achieve settlement of all the accounts. The estimate CLS provides is claimed to be based on their historical results while assisting other customers with similar needs. It is understood that settlement amounts have to be negotiated, so the estimate is just that - an estimate. But - the portion of the monthly fee they embed into your payment plan is NOT an estimate. It is a firm figure that they claim is "earned" based on their efforts to "negotiate" settlements. But - what they don't tell you until later is that in some cases a creditor will not work with a CLS negotiator. In those cases, the account supposedly gets turned over to a "local attorney" who supposedly contacts the creditor as the customer's representative. This was the case for one of my enrolled accounts. CLS tells me for weeks that "your account file has been turned over to a local attorney, but he is new to our system so we can't provide you with any contact information other than an email address." They advised me to contact him by email to request a status, I made several attempts to get a response via email, but never get any response. When I convey this information to CLS, they just say, "well, you need to wait for the attorney to call you, there's nothing else we can do". In the meantime, the creditor goes to court and gets a judgment against me, and then has the sheriff server papers to advise of the intent to forcibly take personal property since no attempt has been made to negotiate a settlement of the debt. So, CLS has the luxury of just passing your account off between various departments and local attorneys, all the time telling you that they are working to settle the debt, when in fact they are doing nothing. This violates all of the claims they make in their "Welcome" brochure. They will tell you anything over the phone to make you think they are working on your behalf, but the correspondence you get from the legal firm representing the debtor makes it clear that there is nothing going on to indicate from their vantage point that you (or CLS on your behalf) is doing anything to try to reach a settlement. And also, after being in the program for 18 months and never failing to make a scheduled payment, they will start saying, "well, we're sorry, but the account has a large balance and you have not accumulated enough funds for us to make a good faith effort to settle the debt." They knew the balance of the account from the very beginning of the program, and knew they were going to be taking a large chunk of your monthly payment up front to retain their service. But then once they've got you in the program they just say they can't do anything because you haven't provided enough funding for us to negotiate a settlement. They can mislead you for many months into thinking they're helping you, when all they seem to be doing is collecting money for themselves and making very little of it available to use for reaching a settlement. At that point, you're at their mercy, because they don't have any incentive to negotiate, and the creditor will not continue waiting for you to accumulate funds they consider satisfactory to reach a settlement. So they can sweep in with a judgment they get from the courts to take your assets, and you end up losing more than you owed to begin with. Very deceptive.

Desired Outcome

The resolution I seek is for Carolina Legal Service to provide the settlement / negotiation service they describe in the documents provided when they enroll you in the program. Since they claim they have turned over the file to a local attorney, but can't give me any realistic way to contact him, I have no way to know anyone has even attempted to contact the creditor. And the creditor claims no one has contacted them. Most of the claims CLS makes about negotiating with the creditor are false based on my experience, especially if you happen to have a creditor that doesn't want to settle and will aggressively pursue you on their own timescale and not be willing to follow the CLS-prescribed approach of accumulating settlement funds over an extended period of time. They have provided no tangible evidence whatsoever of attempting to negotiate on my behalf - no attorney they "claim" to have taken ownership of an account file will respond to email (the only method they provide for contacting him), and no attorney has contacted me so I do not believe one has truly been assigned. By operating in this way, CLS is not defending anyone's best interests other than their own, as evidenced by the fact they do nothing when you advise them the sheriff is knocking on your door stating intent to take your personal property. Each time you call their customer service, all you get is an email stating "Please allow 48 business hours to update records", or when they want you to think they're reaching out to an attorney for assistance after you provide them with judgment notifications and papers served by the local sheriff, they send email stating: "we have received your legal correspondence. It is being assigned to a Litigation Agent who will address your needs as soon as possible. Please allow 7 -10 business days for us to upload and review your paperwork." All the while they keep collecting their "retainer fee". I don't blame CLS for accumulating the debts I'm trying to negotiate. But I do blame them for taking advantage of someone who is already in a bad situation by signing you up for a program that they know has little chance of putting you in a realistic position to get a settlment with creditors. It's clear CLS structures the program so that you end up in a predicament that is worse than the one you had when originally reached out to them for assitance, and then they tell you they can't negotiate for you because you don't have enough funds. This is predatory and highly misleading. I trusted their assurances when I got into the program that "we deal with these creditors all the time, we know what it takes to get things resolved and if you just follow our program it will work out." Shame on me and anyone else who believes that. CLS needs to step up and deliver the service they promise, or they need to be stopped from taking advantage of people who are already in a bad situation. They just want to make it worse and then tell you it's your problem that they can't help you - but only after they've collected their money without providing the service they say they are providing.

Carolina Legal Services Response • Nov 13, 2019

We are working with the client to resolve this matter to their satisfaction.

To sum this up, they expect a customer to be satisfied with only being provided with a name & contact information when an attorney is "assigned". But there is no one responsible for ensuring the attorney provides the customer with a status of negotiations, or even to simply confirm that a negotiation is taking place. It's now obvious from their reassignment of the file to a different attorney after 6+ weeks of no response that a customer has no assurance of an active effort to negotiate with a creditor just based on them verbally stating they are working the case. They expect customers to promptly provide them with all correspondence received from creditors / debt collectors under the premise that they are going to act on your behalf and they don't want you to contact the creditor directly. But from my experience what actually happens if you follow the instructions provided by Carolina Legal Services is that the creditor proceeds with their actions to obtain a default judgment because no one at Carolina Legal Services is responding to the notices forwarded to them by the customer (me). Then, when things progress to the point where the sheriff is showing up to serve papers related to seizure of assets, only then are they willing to reassign the file to someone else so that negotiation can supposedly start on something that should have occurred months ago. And even then, they don't feel any obligation to have the attorney contact you to tell you what is happening, they seem to think you should just accept as a given that something substantial in the way of negotiations is happening even in spite of discovering that you can't assume they're actively working a case file just because an attorney has been 'assigned'. If the 'assigned' attorney is non-responsive and doesn't do anything, then it is just as I stated previously - they put you in a worse situation that you were in to begin with when enrolling in their service. Until they provide tangible evidence - something other than just verbal confirmations - that they are actively trying to negotiate with the creditor and / or the attorneys representing the creditor, I am not willing to accept their response.

Hired them to negotiate with creditors a year ago. They have not done so.
Acct:***
Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is, to have the Deputy Sheriff banging on your door multiple times a month??
I have paid CLS $251.08 per month for the last year, to negotiate with creditors. They negotiated with one (supposedly) and have done absolutely nothing about the rest. I received notification of threatening to sue by the companies and forwarded it to them. They still did nothing. I'm now being sued by FIVE companies (guess it's only a matter of time before the last one joins in). One of the suits is over 30 days (needed to respond to the suit within 30). STILL have not heard anything from them! The only thing I got, was an email saying a local attorney would be contacting me. No one has.

Desired Outcome

DO WHAT I HIRED THEM TO DO! and HURRY before I lose everything! If I lose my son and my home because of them... I don't know what I'll do.

"Not resolved yet" is correct. Any legal group/firm/service should not allow their clients to get sued, let alone ensure they do.

This was resolved to the satisfaction of the client

They just took our money each month, over $4,400 and didn't do a thing for us, it was supposed to be a debt consolidation service, but made it worse.
They was supposed to negotiate with the creditors and we pay them a lower amount than our debt. And in turn we get a deal they make a profit. The better (lower) the agreement with creditors the higher the profits for them. Sounds good for everyone right? But no, they negotiated with 1 creditor, (I think so they can say they actually did something) but that's 1 out of 12. At first nothing was happening they said add more money if we wanted faster results, we did because it made sense. But now a year later and $4,400 payed so far, nothing has happened. The only thing happening is the sheriffs are coming to our house serving us legal papers, the creditors are suing us, and when we told them they said send us the paperwork and we will file responses....... guess what? They never filed responses!!!!!! So in turn we now have judgements against us, they are threatening to take our paychecks our house, and our car. All we have done is what Carolina legal services has told us to do.. this week we contacted a real lawyers office and they told us they have fixed the problems Carolina legal has caused people over 30 times. Over 30 different people or groups of people, over 30 cases and all the same story... they take your money and do nothing, it's false advertising, it's deceiving, it's fraud!!!! Willingly fraudulent, on purpose, taking hard earned money from poor people because poor people doesn't have the money to sue!!!!! And they are getting away with it!!!!! And on top of all they have taken from our family, we called in today just 4 days after the last monthly payment, to cancel the service and get what's left of our money back, there was $767.88 when we canceled, that's the money we are supposed to be getting back, now they take another administration fee and some other fee out and we're left with $583.00... what type of *** is this?????? Have they not taken enough from us?? Now on the way out they kick us one more time for the *** of it... they cannot be backed by the Revdex.com any longer because when people see the Revdex.com sticker on their website we trusted them. Because the Revdex.com logo means a standard, and quality. Now it means nothing.

Desired Outcome

We want our $700 back that they are supposed to give us!!! We asked the guy on the phone, "how much are we getting back?" He told us the $700 and something that was listed online in our account... we really want the over $4,400 back but we all know it's gone forever. And we NEED the Revdex.com's certification/logo off their website so this doesn't happen to not 1 more personal or family that can't even buy groceries some weeks..

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We accepted the business's response because they gave us half our money back, and only losing half your money is better than losing all your money I guess. The damage this business has done to us is done, yes we are glad to get half our money back, but I would not say I'm satisfied. We took the money we got back and we paid real lawyers to file bankruptcy. We was wanting to pay back our debts, because we felt that is the right thing to do, but after all this mess we no longer have any other choice. So no I would not say I'm happy at all but again only losing half your money is always better than losing all your money.

Failure to uphold their end of contract agreement.
I have paid Carolina Legal Services, over the last year, $12,464.40 for Debt settlement of 8 accounts. I have held up my end of the agreement, which was 1.038.70/month for 48 months and paid my payments on time every month. I was told from the beginning this would accomplish my debt settlement. CLS has only created settlements with 3 accounts. I had received 3 summons from 3 other accounts. I immediately sent these summons to CLS, through their process and was never contacted back except for automatic text message saying I would be contacted in 48 hours. This NEVER happened. The attorney Daniel R only contacted me once and told me not to worry about them. He also asked for MORE money to be deposited in my account. The attorney did NOT do anything on my behalf and I am now faced with 2 court filed Judgements against me and one motion to file Judgement. In regards to the summons, Daniel R made no attempts to respond to the court for extensions or agreements in the allowed 20 days. Which caused the filing of the Judgements against me. Now not only do I have credit card debt to settle, I also have judgements that can lead to liens against my property AND there will be court costs that I will be responsible to pay.
What started out, to me, as a solution to help consolidate my debt has turned into a scam to take as much money from me as possible with no results in diminishing my debt.

Desired Outcome

Resolution I am seeking is as follows: 1.Services with CLS and Global solutions CANCELLED. 2.Refund ALL money minus the amounts sent in payment to the 3 accounts currently under settlement. 3. All information from settlements with 3 accounts including payment schedule; address to send payments to and agreed upon amount. I DO NOT want to continue to be scammed out of any more money with no debt resolution!!!

Carolina Legal Services has cancelled my account as requested. I am not happy about the monetary settlement, as I think I deserve more back then they are giving. That being said at least I am getting some of my money back and I will be done with this dreadful company. I will NEVER recommend their services to anyone.

We have resolved this matter to the clients satisfaction.

We paid them $7,000 in a year. They never provided any services and don't want to refund the full amount.
These people are THIEVES!!!! We started a debt relive program with them a year ago and paid them over $7,000.00. They NEVER settled anything with our credit card company. We kept being harassed over and over again, we even got lawsuit. They showed up at my husband's job and he got served with a court date. We called the "lawyer" that was handling our case over 10 times that same week, left voicemails and we NEVER got a response.. 3 weeks later I get a TEXT MESSAGE from the lawyer with Carolina Legal Services phone number... a text message!!! When I called Carolina legal services to ask where my money was going they said it was in accounts outside of the country.. I asked to cancel and get a refund and they told me that there was only $1,000.00 in my savings account!!!! We have paid them over $7,000.00 in the past year! I demanded to know where the rest of my money was and they said it had gone to the lawyers for fees! WHAT LAWYERS?! They NEVER settled not one account!! The men I was on the phone with -EDDY C argued back and forth with me telling me that one account that been settled. I kept asking what account,? I want proof! Until he finally realized he couldn't come up with another lie and admitted that no account had been settled! They never did absolutely anything over the past year except take my money. They only contacted one time and it was to ask me if I could increase my monthly payments!!!! When I sat down to speak with the bank they said they contacted Carolina legal services numerous of times and they refused to speak to him and that they were not representing me. I have all of this recorded and the bank is willing to work with me to take this to court if they don't give my money back! They NEVER provided a service so they can't charge me a penny! That is a violation of the federal trade commission.

-***.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund. We paid them $7,800 over the past year. They never contacted any of our credit card companies and we have proof to show it.
