Fickle insurance company
Upon purchasing a new home, we followed the same process we have always used in obtaining home insurance We are a low risk client and pay our annual premiums in full; our last insurance claim was Hurricane Katrina years ago As soon as we moved into the house, Federated National began back pedaling from the policy Boxers, widely regarded as a family-friendly, non-aggressive dog breed, are disallowed and a waiver of liability would be required Three roof shingles were slightly raised (so negligible was the lift that it took the two engineer homeowners and a roofer hours to locate the suspect shingles) We repaired a patio roof (separate structure from the home covering a screened area, open to the weather) and FN dropped our policy That's correct--properly addressing an issue on your property results in the policy's cancellation
I consider my time working with this company to have been wasted Why bill yourself as an insurance company if you aren't willing to insure the property? We considered fighting the cancellation but then realized that if this is there attitude now, how much worse would it be if we ever had to make a claim? I do not recommend Federated National as an insurer

This is a Terrible Insurance companyOur home was a total loss due to a fire on April 24th, This company refused to pay because they said we didn't live in the home at the time of the fireWe have hired an attorney to sue them and they keep putting it offMeanwhile we are paying a mortgage on a house that is no longer there as well as paying for a place to liveNot only did they take my premium for 2015-2016, they also took it for 2016-with no house thereNo one should ever have this company for home insurance
