This company was supposed to move me on Friday. They showed up an hour later than I was told. Upon arrival, one of the movers asked if I was going to be adding anything to my EIA approved moving list, which I found a little rude, but I said no. The movers then took pictures of the inside of my house without permission, and sent them to their boss. [redacted] After an hour and a half, I called them to see what was up with them and why they left. I was told "You should have told us your place was a [redacted] I want to say, I do NOT fault them for not doing my move. However the way this has been dealt with is 100% unprofessional. [redacted]

LATER THEY TOLD THEIR BOSS IT ONLY HAD BEEN 5 WHICH WAS NOT TRUE AS I CHECKED THE TIME. I contacted this company via email to coordinate a move. We set up a day for packing and a second day for moving, and he gave me an hourly quote. He did not have anyone come see my stuff to give an accurate estimate of time needed, nor did he provide me with a contract outlining policies and all potential charges. On the packing day, the packers were friendly, but kept chatting and playing on their cell phones rather than working, which is unacceptable when charging an hourly rate. On the moving day, they arrived late, and then took until 3pm before the truck was loaded and they were ready to move to my new apartment. At that time, the manager called and told me that they would be charging me an overtime fee for every hour after 430pm, which was not disclosed when setting up the move. My other option was for them to keep my stuff in their warehouse overnight and then do the move/unpack the next day. However, based on their quote/time estimate, I had only taken two days off and had to work the next day. They stayed until 10pm, but still didn't get all of the unpacking done. I had to finish the unpacking, during which time I found that a crystal bowl they had packed had shattered in the move. However, because their team didn't unpack that box, the manager refused to honor a claim for damage. Additionally, a shelving unit that was in great condition before the move now has a large crack through it, but the movers claim it wasn't them and say that there's nothing I can do about it as a result. After unpacking, I was told to contact them to set up a time for them to come pick up the boxes. I told the manager (in writing, via email) to please let me know when he had a time estimate because I work all day, live alone, and need to coordinate with my building manager to let them in to the apartment. I also told him how many empty boxes I had counted (they reimburse 50% of the cost of boxes once returned). The manager apparently told the dispatcher that they could go by anytime during the day and that I'd be home all day, which is the complete opposite of what I'd told him. They showed up, didn't have an appropriate truck for the boxes, so had to leave and send a different truck. I received multiple phone calls during that day, which detracted from my military duties and caused me a lot of undue stress. At the end of all that, they apparently counted 11 fewer boxes than I had (even though I counted twice), and thus shorted me $16 on my refund. I felt [redacted] not listened to, and disrespected. When I brought up that this miscount seems unfair since I'm suffering because I have to be at work, I was ignored and disregarded.

THEY HAD NO OWN TOOLS WITH THEM WHICH THEY FIGURED 90 MINUTES AFTER THEY STARTED WORK. SO THEY LEFT FOR 30 MINUTES. LATER THEY TOLD THEIR BOSS IT ONLY HAD BEEN 5 WHICH WAS NOT TRUE AS I CHECKED THE TIME. THR TOOLS THEY PICKED WERE USELESS, SO THEY HAD TO BORROW SOME OF MINE.FURTHER THEY HAD NO DOLLY WITH THEM IN ORDER TO MOVE THE WASHER AND THE DRYER. THEY MOVED THOSE

This company was supposed to move me on Friday. They showed up an hour later than I was told. Upon arrival, one of the movers asked if I was going to be adding anything to my EIA approved moving list, which I found a little rude, but I said no. The movers then took pictures of the inside of my house without permission, and sent them to their boss. I was told "You should have told us your place was a [redacted] I want to say, I do NOT fault them for not doing my move. However the way this has been dealt with is 100% unprofessional. [redacted]

We had a gas furnace, a central air conditioner and an insert for a gas fireplace all purchased and installed by Glen Air. Every one of these items were not installed to code and it ended up that we had to bring in other companies to correct everything that Glen Air did wrong. Firstly, Glen Air could never get our gas fireplace to work and after a few attempts to do so, they just stopped taking our calls. We had to call in the supplier of the gas fireplace insert and they put it right. They told us that the valve going to the inside and the exhaust valve going to the outside were installed backwards which resulted in the exhaust from the fireplace coming into our house causing a real safety hazard. The air conditioner leaked after the first year only to be told by another company that it had not been properly sealed. Also, we had to pay an electrician to put the air conditioner on a separate power source as the way Glen Air had it hooked up it was a fire hazard. Our latest problem was only discovered when our furnace wasn't working properly so we called in a company to both repair and clean it. They took one look at it and told us that this furnace was way too close to the wall (not to code) and in order for them to perform this work, we would have to have the whole furnace moved along with the pipes etc. etc. This cost us $1779.75 and when we informed Glen Air of their error and asked for reimbursement, we got nothing. We would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

We had only two weeks notice to move from Winnipeg to Vancouver for new jobs last August and Riverbed Movers were great. They got back to us with quotes right away, showed up on time and were efficient and friendly, and our belongings got to the West Coast in one piece and a week early. I would also add that what we were quoted for the move was exactly what we paid- no hidden charges, or hassle on delivery. Highly recommend.

ACCESS PLATE. THEY LATER DENIED THAT BUT I WAS STANDING RIGHT BESIDE THEM WHEN IT HAPPENED. FURTHER THEY DISASSEMBLED PARTS OF THE COUCH WHERE I LATER COULDN' T FIND THE SPECIAL SCREWS AND THEY DIDN'T TELL WHERE THEY PUT THEM. WHEN I FOUND OUT LATER THAT DAY THEY ALREADY LEFT SO I COULDN' T ASK. I HAD TO GO PURCHASE NEW ONES. SOME OF THE FURNITURES WERE BROUGHT IN AND ONLY PILED UP IN ONE ROOM, SO I HAD TO STOP THEM AND ADVISE TO MOVE THEM IN THEIR DESIGNATED ROOMS. AS IT WAS TIME TO PAY THEY SUDDENLY WERE WAY OVER THE PRICE WE AGREED ON WITH WAYNE IN HIS OFFICE FEW DAYS EARLIER TO ARRANGE FOR THE MOVING DATE. THE QUOTE WAS VERY CLEAR BUT HIS CALCULATION FOR THE FINAL BILL DIDN' T MATCHED OURS AS IT WAS WAY OVER THE TOP. SO WE DIDN' T PAYED THE MOVERS ON THE SPOT AND TRIED TO CLEAR THAT ON THE PHONE WITH WAYNE, WHERE HE HE RIGHT AWAY WAS VERY RUDE AND THREATENED THAT HIS PEOPLE WOULDN' T LEAVE THE PROPERTY UNLESS WE PAYED AND ACCUSED US OF TRYING TO RIP HIM OFF. AFTER A FEW WORDS HE REQUESTED THAT WE COME TO HIS OFFICE, WHICH I DID. UPON ARRIVAL HE ASKED ME WITH AN ALREADY RAISED VOICE THAT WE'RE OBVIOUSLY NOT SATISFIED WITH HIS SERVICE, WHICH I CONFIRMED. WE ARGUED FOR A WHILE SEEING ALREADY SOME OFFICE STAFF LEAVING THE ROOM SHAKING THEIR HEADS AS WAYNE GOT LOUDER AND VERY UPSET IN HIS TONE. TELLING HIM WHAT ACCORDING TO HIS QUOTE WE CALCULATED, WILLING TO PAYAND THE PROBLEMS WE ENCOUNTERED WITH HIS SERVICES, I TOOK MY CREDIT CARD OUT WHICH
HE (WAYNE) RIGHT AWAY LITERALLY PULLED OUT OF MY HAND WITH NO FURTHER WORDS AND WALKED INTO HIS PRIVATE OFFICE TO SCAN IT. I FOLLOWED HIM SUIT. AFTER I MADE THE PAYMENT HE HANDED MY CREDIT AND THE RECEIPT BACK TO ME TOTALLY IN SILENCE. ALMOST ON MY WAY OUT OF THE DOOR HE YELLED FROM BEHIND THAT QUOTE:" FOR YOUR NEXT MOVE YOU MIGHT BETTER GO TO A [redacted] . I TURNED AROUND AND JUST REPLIED TO HIM THAT THIS MAKES GOOD FOR THE COMPANIES RESUME AND JUST LEFT. [redacted] WITH 3 MOVERS AS REQUESTED AND PROPER EQUIPMENT THIS MOVE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN A FRACTION OF THE TIME [redacted] COMING BACK TO MY HOUSE MY NOT FROM RIVERBEND RENTAL TRUCK STILL WAS ALMOST HALF LOADED WITH FURNITURES AND BOXES AS THE TWO MOVERS ALREADY LEFT AHEAD OF ME WHEN I DROVE DOWN TO THE OFFICE. I WAS NOW A BIT UNDER TIME PRESSURE AND HAD TO MOVE THE REST ALL ON MY OWN, AS I HAD JUST FEW HOURS IN ORDER TO DROP THE RENTAL TRUCK. IN RETROSPECTIVE THIS MOVE WAS A DISASTER AND THE WORSTED I EVER EXPERIENCED. THAT' S BY FAR NOT THE WAY HOW ONE DEALS WITH AND TREATS A CUSTOMER. VERY BAD.

Great experience. They fit me in on short notice, were on time, efficient, and careful. No damage to anything. Also better prices than the others I checked with!

This company was supposed to move me on Friday. They showed up an hour later than I was told. Upon arrival, one of the movers asked if I was going to be adding anything to my EIA approved moving list, which I found a little rude, but I said no. The movers then took pictures of the inside of my house without permission, and sent them to their boss. [redacted] After an hour and a half, I called them to see what was up with them and why they left. I was told "You should have told us your place was a [redacted] I want to say, I do NOT fault them for not doing my move. However the way this has been dealt with is 100% unprofessional. [redacted]
