Just want everybody to know, the best place in the world for flour coverings, carpet, and good quality carpets is to go to Flooring Expo. I went to the store in Woodbury, MN and dealt with Terry [redacted] and he was very honest and did not stear me wrong. A very nice man to work with and honesty these days is important to me and always has been. You will never go wrong here and I have dealt with Terry for many many years. Check them out, you won't be sorry.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/07/22) */
Ms. [redacted],
I am sorry to see that our lack of communication with Mr. [redacted] has given him enough reason to write a letter expressing his concerns.

Mr. [redacted] will receive a mailed receipt from us as soon as possible.
We have...

charged Mr. [redacted]'s card on July 3rd, and one day before the installation on July 6th. In order to keep installation and accounting separate, we prefer to collect any balance before the actual installation happen. Mr. [redacted] should indeed have been made fully aware of our process.
We apologize for our customer's inconvenience, and appreciate your help with this matter.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed

The business states that burn looked like a cigarette burn. The affected area on the sleeve is 3 inches by 2 inches. This kind of damage is not the result of a cigarette burn. Also I did not mention I was going to file a BBC complaint until she was uncooperative and refusing to discuss the issue with me. The lady who I talked to was very rude and refused to help me in any way.

I still have the sweater and can take a photo of the burn and email you this information if it would help.
Regards,

I spent a good deal of time listening to the sales person explain how much better Carpet King is then another in-home carpet / sales company that I had previously used and was disappointed in the quality of the carpet. I was assured as to how much better Carpet King is as a company. I agreed to the purchase, provided 50% downpayment and was told the remainder would be due AT the completion of the installation.

I was told I would be contacted within a week to schedule the installation. Ten days went by, so I contacted the office. I was told the carpet would be in on Monday and we could schedule the installation. The installation was scheduled for Thursday.

On Wednesday, I received a phone call to confirm the installation time frame - afternoon on Thursday.

I contacted Carpet King and was told that was what I had agreed to - I have reviewed the minimal paperwork supplied and no where does it state they will charge my credit card the day BEFORE delivery/installation.

Shortly after the phone call on Wednesday, I noticed two emails from Carpet King. Two separate transactions had been made about 15 minutes apart - with different authorization numbers. My credit card had been charge the day BEFORE the installation was to be completed. when I contacted Carpet King, I was told the issue is with my credit card statement, not their financial institute. I contacted my credit card company and was provided with the authorization code for two separate transactions. Carpet King refused to remove the second transactions and I am forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

The morning of installation I received a unintelligible voicemail which sounded as if they would arrive after 5 PM to install the carpet. I called the number back and told them after five is evening, not afternoon as agreed. After some discussion they agreed to come at noon.

Two workers showed up in a run down van with "xxxxx cycle racing" on the side - nothing about Carpet King as I had been promised in the sales pitch. They had my carpet - so I guess I can only assume they were sub-contracted by Carpet King. One more indication that Carpet King is no more responsible or trusted then their top competitor. I had agreed to pay them extra to move a small piano - but I had to explain to them how to move it safely. This review is no reflection on the installers only Carpet King as a company and their procedures. However, it should be noted that at the completion of the installation, the worker requested I signed the portion of his one page document that said 'to be signed before installation". He stated he would not be paid if I did not sign.

I do not recommend Carpet King. I definitely will not choose them again. I regret having chose them this time.

Working with Carpet King on this project was a great experience! I highly recommend them. Dean came out to my home and was very pleasant, everything went smoothly and everyone was courteous and concerned about my satisfaction.

Carpet King did a fantastic job on my new carpet. They were quick and had the best price of all the places that came to give me estimates. Very friendly too!

My experience with Carpet king was second to none. I had been told by a friend that they had competitive pricing and excellent service. My sales person, Brian, was extremely helpful and friendly. He kept me posted throughout the order and installation and followed up after. The installers were efficient and left not a single mark on the wall. They were so careful and even vacuumed when they were done. 5 stars!

I don't typically fill out surveys but I wanted everyone to know what a fantastic job Carpet King did on our flooring. They showed up on-time for the initial appointment, gave us a very competitive price, and the installation was perfect! Overall, I had a great experience and my carpet exceeded my expectations.

In early part of September 2016 I got two estimates to do my flooring one for $2500 and one for $1850 the last one from Carpet King. I went with them because of the promises they made it and the salesman appeared to know what he was doing. The latter I'm having an issue with and also the customer service of this company. After the install of maple flooring they put the quarter round of maple up against my oak baseboard which totally looks wrong and the specialist doing the install on top of the sales person should have said we should not do this, but in fact it was done and I called to complain about it. I got the runaround for three weeks only to finally have the customer service guy say"yeah we can do it but I'm gonna charge you $600 more!!! " I told the guy at customer service that I am very unhappy with this and that I should not have to pay anything seen it was their mistake. The sales person was in and out of my house within 15 minutes we did not spend time talking about this at all. I read about bad reviews before but I figured I'll go with them it'll be OK, boy was I wrong. I told the person at customer service I was gonna leave a scathing review everywhere I can and he didn't seem to care, I spent $1800 plus I'm hard-earned money on this company and this is the treatment I get I am so upset I can't tell you. Do not I repeat do not use this company unless you want to get the shaft on any customer service follow up. A big-name company like Carpet King totally Dropped to ball I am so upset.

Carpet king installer came out to put in wood flooring and after he left I found 7 mistakes and one cracked floor board he never told me he did. I had yo find it after he left. There were sections of floor board never nailed down. One of the floor boards was nailed back to high and had to be taken down.

Outstanding quality of workmanship. Workers knew what they were doing. Very impressed with them and the crew manager. Carpet King did a great job with our home!

Absolutely a great experience from beginning to end! We had a few quotes and we were all set to go with another company until we talked with Capret King. I am SO glad we didn't go with the other!

Per our conversation, I would like to respond to complaint #[redacted].  We are in contact with the customer, [redacted], to rectify the problem.  She...

has stated that once the work is completed that she will retract her complaint.  I will be in touch once the work is done to make sure that the complaint has been retracted and rectified.  Thank you for your time!   [redacted]   [redacted] | OFFICE MANAGER [redacted]    | PRESIDENT CARPET KING, INC                                  Office: [redacted]                 Steve's Cell: [redacted]                                 Fax: [redacted]

My new floors look great! You did a wonderful job!

Carpet looks great! Thanks Carpet King!

I will NEVE order from carpetking again. The sales person asked for my credit card info over email and every time I asked him when my installation date would be he completely ignored my question. I sent multiple emails asking. I even called the pre installation number and of course their computers were down and I was promised a call back that day, guess what? No one called me. I still have no idea on the status of my order but they were sure quick to take the money out of my account.

5 STAR performance with all persons from Carpet King that I was contacted by or involved with during the entire process. Will definitely use them again when we are ready to re carpet 2 remaining rooms.

Carpet King installed new wood in my home and did a fantastic job! Flooring looks great!

RE: Case # [redacted]: [redacted]
Ms. [redacted],
Thank you for your follow up. Up to this point, we were working to fill the order and were attempting to secure the fabricated countertops for...

Ms. F.
Per the attached signed contract, Ms. F agreed to purchase a sink, carpet, countertop and a template from Trade Direct on December 5, 2014. At Ms. F.'s instructions, the sink was dropped shipped to her home. We then learned, from Ms. F. that the sink would not fit in her cabinets. At that point, she asked to be able to return the sink, cancel the order and get her money back. That we would not agree to as it was clear from the signed paperwork that the product, once shipped, is not returnable. However, in an effort to work with the customer, our Manager, [redacted], got involved and offered to take back the sink in return for moving forward with the countertops (which at this point had not yet shipped). This was agreed and was the plan.
Clearly the customer now wishes to cancel the order.
Unfortunately, we have incurred hard cost restocking charges of $250 to return the sink to the fabricator. As previously agreed we would prefer to continue selling Ms. F. the reminder of her order and waive the restocking fee on the return of the sink. As this solution no longer works for Ms. F., we are prepared to refund her entire down payment less the $250 restocking fee; provided that she also agrees to cancel the order and release Trade Direct from any and all obligations related to this order. We feel that this is a reasonable resolution for both parties.
If this offer is acceptable, we have provided a release which we would request that Ms. F. sign and return to my attention. Once received, we will process a refund less the re-stocking charge of $250.00.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/04/10) */

Painful experience to install a simple bedroom. It took many trys to get this right. First the carpet was not ordered properly. Second the first install was terrible and required multiple visits to fix seams to discover after 1 1/2 months the color mismatch existed. The padding was disgusting and after multiple discussions they agreed to replace padding at an up-charge which I paid. They showed up to replace padding and because of the questionable experience I left work to meet installers. After pulling up carpet they had the wrong padding with them and had to go back to warehouse to get the correct padding. (honest mistake???) If I were not present it would have been another round. Then they had to contact manufacturer to replace the defective color mismatch, which they did. I had to move the furniture three times for this crazy experience. Finally they came to install the replacement carpet and got it done after over two months of nuisance, stress, loss of work time, etc. To this day, no call to confirm satisfaction. This couple week process started in May and was completed under-duress in late August. A quality company would have tried to compensate the customer who had this level of a terrible experience! This customer runs a service business and understands everything doesn't always go as planned. With that said, a company that cares would make sure a customer that had gone through what I did was satisfied. Hence the rating.
