Don't trust them
Ordered end of Oct 2020, paid deposit via CC, called I believe late Dec 2020, was told by a lady they were waiting for another to come from my area to make the trip worthwhile. They're in Fresno CA, I'm in Atascadero, CA, a 2 hr trip. Late Feb 2021 phoned 2 times, spoke to the same guy who said they would get in touch, zero zip nada. Got online to check status of my order, no record. C Card shows deposit, nothing from them since. Sent a "Comment" to them today, I have contract/order and C Card bill..let's see if they respond. Maybe a note to the BBB and State Consumer Complaints Dept will ring their bell.

When Ms [redacted] revised her original order from a 20’ wide by 20’ long to 20’ wide by 60’ long several recommendations were made all of which she declined One suggestion was to go to a vertical roof because horizontal roofs over 31’ can leak in time due to the seam by overlapping roof panels to reach 60’ Mobile home augers were also suggested to secure the unit rather that the temporary rebar pin anchors which she also declinedThe installation was completed 2/4/by the manufacture American Carports, not subbed out as suggestedThe location was a pasture which was not disclosed when orderedIt was after a storm and some damage was done to the pasture which she received a discount of $to cover the damageThe roof was caulked at installation and was still under warranty when she called about the leak so American Carports agreed to schedule the repair the very next run to that areaThe first attempt to do the repair was obstructed by Ms [redacted] because the crew did not have a generator, which is not required to repair a leakFour additional attempts were made with no return calls to confirm from Ms [redacted] When the crew was in the area they stopped by to see if she was there so it could be repairedShe was not available however did call American Carports to say she was out of the countryIn early January contact was made and another attempt to satisfy Ms [redacted] was madeBecause she is always out of town and would not give more than a day or two notice when she was home American Carports offered her half the balance due credit and keep the buildingShe declined and demanded it be removedHer main complaint is water in the building during stormsWell this is a 10’ tall building with open ends in a pastureRegardless of any roof leaks, which only happen at the one seam in the roof, wind and rain are going to enter both endsAmerican Carports has agreed to do whatever it takes to repair the buildingAll she has to do is have someone available to let the crew get to it if she is out of townAlthough the installation and subsequent attempts to repair the leak could have gone better American Carports have bent over backwards to satisfy Ms [redacted] They are still willing to fix the leak all she has to do is contact them with possible dates that she or someone will be availableSeveral emails have been sent in addition to phone calls to resolve the leak issueWe at Carports and More can also contact American Carports with dates available to help facilitate the repairThe main reason it has not been done is Ms [redacted] ’s scheduleDeciding that she just doesn’t need the building anymore is not reasonable

As stated in all previous responses two attempts were made to install Mr [redacted] carportHe refused the first attempt and canceled when the mfg was trying to schedule the second timeThe order can be reordered and no additional deposit taken The delivery time is always based on having a full run to the area in questionSpeaking to the mfg that time frame is estimated to be to weeksI emphasize this is an estimated time frame not a guaranteed time of deliveryThe standard contact time frame for scheduling is to days in advance of the purposed deliveryI can request the extra time on the order however that is not always possibleThe deposit from the original order will go towards the deposit portion for the new orderIf the unit is a exact reorder there will be no additional deposit takenThe original order was a custom/special order because it was not a stock size and is non-refundableWe have extended the time frame that the deposit can be used towards the deposit portion of a new order for yearsAll of this was clearly spelled out when the original order was placed and was agreed to by Mr [redacted]

Ms [redacted] will receive the refund of $on or about Feb 2ndMr [redacted] refers to several dates, conversations and his approval email in his complaintWhat was not covered in the complaint is the same approval email states several in the "THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW" section including: Orders taken from late summer to early fall can take an extended time due to weather related problemsOnce we where contacted and go to work on Mr and Ms Water's we secured a install date to days after we where contactedHe canceled after we worked very hard to get his building installedThe bottom line is he did not get installed and is being refunded

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.However, I do not believe the business made as large as an effort as they claim to have made I am not saying they are a poor business, simply that it took too long to receive our product, if we would have in fact received it In reference to their claim of the winter weather effecting installation times; I could not find anything in the email that I received with "important information I should know." I did read that "85% of units are installed within weeks." I guess our order did not fall within that 85% of units, which is understandable I appreciate the company honoring my refund and working actively now to resolve this matter[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: the deposit was taken by credit card and the refund should have been given the same way, not days to process It has been months since the initial order Why does this company make it so hard to get the product installed or a refund? It has been well over days since the cancellation anyway with no refund given and the point of this complaint includes failure to timely refund the down payment along with horrible customer service, making appointments for installation and not showing up to deliver the goods

Business response over the phone: Consumer has already filed a claim to get a refund, process can take around daysAt this point it is in the hands of the bank to refund her money, but the process has been started already

Mr***, Attached you will find the Carports and More Receipts. Mr*** resolved the issue. He credited my account in the amount of my down payment. Thank you, *** ***

I understand Mr *** challengeWe researched this issue with the Manufacture (*** ***) and found out he was mailed and emailed a generic set of plan on September 2, at no costIf he needed more than that we or *** *** have not received any additional requestsIf he needs
"Building specific" plans they can be provided however they are not freeHe would contact *** *** directly to obtain those plansThey can be contacted at ***

I bought a carport from Bill Wood at Carports and More and it was installed 2 weeks ago. Today I sent him a thank you email for the great job he did for me and the great carport I now have. I wanted to post an appropriate review for the great job he did for me so I figured I'd just post the thank you letter to him. It should say it all. Please read the following letter dated 11/15/18. You can tell I'm a very satisfied customer. Kudos to Bill for a job well done!

It’s been 2 weeks since they installed our carport. It’s looks great and is working just as I was hoping it would. I wanted to contact you and thank you for the great job that you did for us from beginning to end. I wanted to tell you that it was mainly you Bill, that convinced me to order. There was another company in the running before I picked you. I picked Carports and More because you knew all the factors I had to understand and resolve before placing the order. You also seemed to have a good working relationship with the factory/installers where you were able to get technical concerns, I had, answered quickly. Most of all you spent the time to patiently guide me through the whole process and give me your opinion during the time I was waiting for them to build my carport and notify me when it was ready. You always responded to my questions as I was waiting, no matter how silly they were. Your competitors didn’t sweat the details like you. They were just interested in booking the order regardless how it would turnout. After working with you putting together the order I knew that this carport was going to be successful just by the way you treated me during the process. I want to thank you and your company for providing us with a quality carport and a job well done. Keep up the good work. I assure you your customers appreciate it.

I am rejecting this response because: I am really at a loss of words at this point. I feel like I have made my points very clear in why you are wrong. The fact that I get the exact same answer from you time and time again is telling. I was FORCED TO CANCEL MY ORDER. I HAD TO WAIT ALMOST A YEAR FOR DELIVERY! I have given you emails to evidence this . This is no way to run a business. I want 10% off my order and I believe that is fair.I don't understand why this process has been so difficult. Any other business that is trustworthy would admit they were wrong and try to make it right. Yet you continue to make it harder and frustrating. I keep telling you that I was forced to cancel my order after being unable to schedule a delivery for almost a year. And every time you never address my concerns, you just say again and again the contract said this and I agreed to that and its custom order, ect. It is ridiculous. None of this is my fault. I have done everything in my power to make this work. You are the one that has decided not work with me and break your promise in your contract. You broke the contract agreement not me. Any business would see this and try to make it right.I would like to give you one more chance to make things right and admit that YOU messed up and give me 10% off my order. It is the right and fair thing to do in this situation.  The metal company does not have my money, they said that you have it. If they would have my money, they would give it back to me.

We work to resolve any problems when they arise. Eight yearslater with over 10,000 orders this is the first complaint we may not be able toresolve. I will do my best to address Mr [redacted]’s complaint. Please take thetime to read this completely.Mr [redacted] ordered his custom size building on...

Friday10/24/14. Orders are dated the first working day after the customer hasapproved his order by email. This process was explained at the time the orderis taken. We send approval requests by email with the copy of theorder to make sure all the information and specifications are correct. Thecustomers must reply to the approval email indicating that they have read andagrees to the “Terms and conditions” of the sale. Mr [redacted] approved his order on Saturday 10/25/14. Theorder was sent in on Monday 10/27/14 and accepted by the manufacture on Tuesday10/28/14.The approval email includes the sections below. These sectionshave thorough explanations. I’ve recapped the pertinent information below.Order ConfirmationProcedure:·        This section explains how to reply if the orderis correct and how to make any changes if required.Things you shouldknow:·        This section does state average delivery timeshowever it clearly states “This is not a guarantee of aspecific date of delivery”. It also states the manufacture tries toinstall all units within 60 days of approval. Day of installation:·        What to expect the day of delivery andinstallation.Contact information:·        How to contact us.Order cancellation:·        The purpose of the deposit.·        Time frame to cancel an order and received afull refund of the deposit.·        How to cancel if the full refund time has passedand that the customer has three years to use the refund towards the depositportion of any building.·        Deposits on custom size unitsare non refundable.Mr [redacted] asked for his building to be installed as soon aspossible. We said we can request a rush order however it was no guarantee dothe time of year.  He still had to obtain his permit and put his concrete slabin. He was told his plans would take 7 to 10 working days to arriveand he received them in 10 days. He wanted the free engineeredgeneric plans. It was explained at that time that local codesmay override the footing requirements of the generic plans. Thegeneric plans show 12” x 12” footings however many local codes require largerfooting due soil and or weather conditions. Again this was explained to him. This refers to the $2500 additional costs in his complaint. During the ten day period until he received his plans Mr[redacted] emailed or called daily asking about his plans. Our answer was the sameeach time “the manufacture is working on them and he will have them soon”. Weasked him to notify us when he received the plans and also to notify us when hereceived his permit. He did notify us when he received the plans. We asked tobe notified when he received his permit so we could notify the manufacture sothey would know it was ok to schedule him as soon as possible. We have neverreceived notification that he had his permit. The [redacted] website showthat the application has been filled out however it has not been permitted asof 1/25/15.In the Complaint Background part of his complaint Mr [redacted]shows the following Complaint Background:Product/Service: 15x25x9 Certified Vert A roof 12 gauge GaragePurchase Date: 10/27/2014Problem Occurred: 10/28/2014Mr [redacted] states that the problem started one day after he ordered.  He called and or emailed daily until hereceived his plans, which had to be drawn specific to his building because itwas a custom size,10 working days after the order was confirmed on 10/28/14.These processes and time frames where explained to Mr[redacted] multiple times.  Including that heordered in the beginning of winter and we would put on his order asking fordelivery as soon as possible however no guarantee was made for a specificdelivery time.  Mr [redacted]’s “Desired Settlement” asked for delivery withintwo weeks of his complaint yet he cancelled his building six days after thiscomplaint was filed. He asked for his security deposit back when it is clearlyin the “Terns and Conditions” that when custom size unit plans are sent thedeposit is non-refundable. He also wanted a $1000.00 discount on a $4500 + taxbuilding which there is not even that much profit in that size unit. We did gethim a $300 discount, not the $200 discount he claims in his complaint. Hisorder does state “Press Install, cust needs ASAP” as wetold him we would ask for but couldn’t promise a specific delivery date due toit being winter and the factory is closed three weeks for Thanksgiving ,Christmas and New Years. We did everything possible to keep Mr [redacted] informed anddid everything we could to get his unit installed in the quickest timepossible. He completely disregarded all the information he was given when hisorder was placed and multiple times during the several conversations we hadthat is why he is dissatisfied with the outcome.  It is likely that his unit would be installed by now had henot cancelled it.

credit card and the refund should have been given the same way, not 30 days to process.  It has been 3 months since the initial order.  Why does this company make it so hard to get the product installed or a refund?  It has been well over 30 days since the cancellation anyway with no refund given and the point of this complaint includes failure to timely refund the down payment along with horrible customer service, making appointments for installation and not showing up to deliver the goods.

Consumer states that her refund has been received.

The manufacture C2C did take to long to schedule the carport for Ms [redacted]. Sera and Robbie spent several hours over many phone call to get her installed to no avail. When the manufacture did contact Ms [redacted] she felt they where rude to her so she cancelled her order. He deposit is being...

refunded. We did not have an alternate manufacture that would have done her carport any sooner at the time. We regret that this has worked out this way.

When Ms [redacted] revised her original order from a 20’ wide by 20’ long to 20’ wide by 60’ long several recommendations were made all of which she declined.  One suggestion was to go to a vertical roof because horizontal roofs over 31’ can leak in time due to the seam by overlapping roof panels...

to reach 60’.  Mobile home augers were also suggested to secure the unit rather that the temporary rebar pin anchors which she also declined. The installation was completed 2/4/16 by the manufacture American Carports, not subbed out as suggested. The location was a pasture which was not disclosed when ordered. It was after a storm and some damage was done to the pasture which she received a discount of $532.00 to cover the damage. The roof was caulked at installation and was still under warranty when she called about the leak so American Carports agreed to schedule the repair the very next run to that area. The first attempt to do the repair was obstructed by Ms [redacted] because the crew did not have a generator, which is not required to repair a leak. Four additional attempts were made with no return calls to confirm from Ms [redacted]. When the crew was in the area they stopped by to see if she was there so it could be repaired. She was not available however did call American Carports to say she was out of the country. In early January contact was made and another attempt to satisfy Ms [redacted] was made. Because she is always out of town and would not give more than a day or two notice when she was home American Carports offered her half the balance due credit and keep the building. She declined and demanded it be removed. Her main complaint is water in the building during storms. Well this is a 10’ tall building with open ends in a pasture. Regardless of any roof leaks, which only happen at the one seam in the roof, wind and rain are going to enter both ends. American Carports has agreed to do whatever it takes to repair the building. All she has to do is have someone available to let the crew get to it if she is out of town. Although the installation and subsequent attempts to repair the leak could have gone better American Carports have bent over backwards to satisfy Ms [redacted]. They are still willing to fix the leak all she has to do is contact them with possible dates that she or someone will be available. Several emails have been sent in addition to phone calls to resolve the leak issue. We at Carports and More can also contact American Carports with dates available to help facilitate the repair. The main reason it has not been done is Ms [redacted]’s schedule. Deciding that she just doesn’t need the building anymore is not reasonable.

As stated in all previous responses two attempts were made to install Mr. [redacted] carport. He refused the first attempt and canceled when the mfg was trying to schedule the second time. The order can be reordered and no additional deposit taken.  The delivery time is always based on having a full run to the area in question. Speaking to the mfg that time frame is estimated to be 4 to 6 weeks. I emphasize this is an estimated time frame not a guaranteed time of delivery. The standard contact time frame for scheduling is 2 to 4 days in advance of the purposed delivery. I can request the extra time on the order however that is not always possible. The deposit from the original order will go towards the deposit portion for the new order. If the unit is a exact reorder there will be no additional deposit taken. The original order was a custom/special order because it was not a stock size and is non-refundable. We have extended the time frame that the deposit can be used towards the deposit portion of a new order for 3 years. All of this was clearly spelled out when the original order was placed and was agreed to by Mr. [redacted].

Ms [redacted] will receive the refund of $341.90 on or about Feb 2nd. Mr [redacted] refers to several dates, conversations and his approval email in his complaint. What was not covered in the complaint is the same approval email states several in the "THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW" section including: Orders taken...

from late summer to early fall can take an extended time due to weather related problems. Once we where contacted and go to work on Mr and Ms Water's we secured a install date 7 to 10 days after we where contacted. He canceled after we worked very hard to get his building installed. The bottom line is he did not get installed and is being refunded.

I ordered a building from them in August/september of 2015. to be honest, it has been so long that I forget. They just finally installed the building at the end of February 2016.

This was after many, many phone calls and a list of excuses.

I would not recommend them to anyone
