Carports and More Reviews (27)

Review: I have been fighting with these people (and their sub-contractor [redacted]) since my carport was installed last November. The port was installed incorrectly (in the dark) and the sub-contractor, at my insistence, has sent crews twice to fix the issues. All they accomplished was to make them worse. I have sent photos of the sloppy work with the many email that I have sent- to no avail. There was a shop foreman at my house(from [redacted]) who said he agreed there were some problems, and "someone" would contact me within a few days- that was a month ago. Please help.Desired Settlement: In the email I sent I gave them 3 choices:1. Refund my money and walk away; I will deal with the mess.2. Install a new horizontal carport at no expense to me.3. See me in court where I will sue not only for money but for the days of vacation and hours of overtime I have lost meeting these people, plus the mental anguish and distress I have suffered.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I ordered a carport in September 2015 and still have not received the carport. I paid 10% down and have been in contact with the company several times. I was finally transferred to the department that schedules the installations and was treated rudely, so I decided to cancel my order. I have emailed the company 3 times regarding the cancellation and still have not received any information from them. The sales people that I dealt with,([redacted]) were very helpful but could not help with installation or the cancellation process.Desired Settlement: I would like my full 10% refund as I have waited much longer that the stated installation period. I would also like a response to my emails.

Business

Response:

The manufacture C2C did take to long to schedule the carport for Ms [redacted]. Sera and Robbie spent several hours over many phone call to get her installed to no avail. When the manufacture did contact Ms [redacted] she felt they where rude to her so she cancelled her order. He deposit is being refunded. We did not have an alternate manufacture that would have done her carport any sooner at the time. We regret that this has worked out this way.

Consumer

Response:

Consumer states that her refund has been received.

Review: I submitted an order on the 27th of October 2014 for a carport. On the 18th of January 2015, I contacted the business to request a refund of my down payment of $341.90. This was because I had not seen any action on the account, nor had I gotten a scheduled delivery date in the window of 60 days since the original placement of the order. This request is pursuant with the company's order cancellation policy which was effective the 28th of October 2014 in the confirmation email I received after placing my order. It states the following; "Order Cancellation: Deposits are for the purpose of processing, preparation and fabrication of your order. You have 3 days from date of this email to cancel order and receive a full refund of deposit. Your cancellation must be in writing. After 3 days the deposit on said unit may be applied towards the deposit portion of any metal building purchased through Carports and More for the period of three years from the date of buyer's written cancellation. If you have not been contacted within 60 days of approval by the manufacture you may receive a full refund. If you have been contacted for installation and were not able accept installation the time period for installation starts from the date contacted."

Since I was not contacted in the time frame stated, the company should honor my request. When I contacted them, they sent me to different individuals within the company. None of the individuals I spoke with could issue a refund of my deposit. I told them that I was more than willing to work with them to reach a resolution and did not wish to involve the Revdex.com. Due to their lack of compliance and the exhaustion of my efforts, I have no choice but to file a complaint with the Revdex.com. It has now been more than a year since the placement of the original order and almost a year since the original request for a refund. The desired resolution for this complaint is simply a refund of my initial deposit in the amount of $341.90.Desired Settlement: A full refund of my down payment in the amount of $341.90.

Response:

Ms [redacted] will receive the refund of $341.90 on or about Feb 2nd. Mr [redacted] refers to several dates, conversations and his approval email in his complaint. What was not covered in the complaint is the same approval email states several in the "THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW" section including: Orders taken from late summer to early fall can take an extended time due to weather related problems. Once we where contacted and go to work on Mr and Ms Water's we secured a install date 7 to 10 days after we where contacted. He canceled after we worked very hard to get his building installed. The bottom line is he did not get installed and is being refunded.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.However, I do not believe the business made as large as an effort as they claim to have made. I am not saying they are a poor business, simply that it took too long to receive our product, if we would have in fact received it. In reference to their claim of the winter weather effecting installation times; I could not find anything in the email that I received with "important information I should know." I did read that "85% of units are installed within 4 weeks." I guess our order did not fall within that 85% of units, which is understandable. I appreciate the company honoring my refund and working actively now to resolve this matter.[redacted]

Review: I placed an order for a carport on November 11, 2013. I was given a 2 to 8 week install time and paid a 10% deposit which totaled $113.53. After 8 weeks had passed I cancelled the order and spoke with Bill at Carports and More and was informed that I would receive a refund of my deposit since the installation timeframe had came and gone. It has now been over two months since my cancellation and many exchanged e-mails and phone calls about this with no resolution. I would like a refund of my deposit. We had a contract that the unit would be installed within 60 days, it was not, so I would like a refund of my deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my deposit amount of $113.53 refunded to me since the seller/installer did not uphold their end of the contract.Thank you,

Response:

Carports and More has worked hard to get Mr. [redacted]'s carport installed however TNT carports was not able to do it in a timely fashion. When Mr [redacted] canceled after 60 days his deposit should have been returned to him but TNT carports has not done so. . Carports and more has sent Mr [redacted] a refund and will take it up directly with TNT carports. Mr [redacted] has been very patient and we fully understand his disappointment with this process. We regret that it has taken so long and have taken measures to correct it.

Sincerely,

Review: Company did not deliver product within the time window they quoted. Called and asked for instructions on how to cancel my order. I followed those instructions and asked for verification of order cancellation in writing as instructed. Was told by customer service representation Robbie, that Mr. [redacted] would contact me. To date I have not received any communication. I have followed up four times with phone calls to Robbie. Robbie tells me each time Mr. [redacted] will be in touch. That has not occured.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my deposit and written verification that my order has been cancelled.

Review: After conducting research on several prefab garage companies ([redacted] and [redacted])including calling and speaking with representatives at each, I chose Carportsandmore because they offered the lowest price which included plans to get a permit. This was a disastrous mistake. I expressed that time was of the essence and that my sole need for the garage was to protect my new vehicle from harsh winter weather. I was initially told that the delivery of the plans "wouldn't take long at all" since I was getting a standard garage. I expressed on the initial call that I needed the plans ASAP because I was having another contractor install a concrete base and they would need the plans to properly install it and help me get a permit. I did not get the plans quickly and I had to call and email the company on several occasions oftentimes not receiving a response until days later that they were "working on it". I eventually got the plans and had the base properly installed but it cost me $2,500 more than the original estimated price because what I was initially told about the depth of the slab was incorrect and my contractors ended up having to dig 30 inches deeper for rebar to meet state code. Eventually I called to check on the status of my order after the estimated delivery period on my contract was past. I was directed to call [redacted] Inc., a separate company, for details on delays in delivery. A representative honestly stated that they had took in too many orders and were severely behind schedule due to minor weather issues in one region. My garage would not be installed until after the New Year. He apologized for the inconvenience and stated that he would call me the next day after speaking to his supervisor about a discount and delivery time. I didn't hear back from him so I called after the New Year. When I called I was informed that they were even more behind due to taking a break during the holidays and I was offered a 200 discount. UnacceptableDesired Settlement: Either provide me a full refund including my security deposit or deliver the garage within 2 weeks and include at least a $1,000 total discount. I am so appalled by the lack of professionalism and customer service at these 2 companies that I am prepared to cancel my order and "eat" the security deposit. I made very clear my sole reason for my purchase and I chose this company due to the statements made by the representative, My contract clearly states "Press Install, cust needs ASAP".

We work to resolve any problems when they arise. Eight yearslater with over 10,000 orders this is the first complaint we may not be able toresolve. I will do my best to address Mr [redacted]’s complaint. Please take thetime to read this completely.Mr [redacted] ordered his custom size building on Friday10/24/14. Orders are dated the first working day after the customer hasapproved his order by email. This process was explained at the time the orderis taken. We send approval requests by email with the copy of theorder to make sure all the information and specifications are correct. Thecustomers must reply to the approval email indicating that they have read andagrees to the “Terms and conditions” of the sale. Mr [redacted] approved his order on Saturday 10/25/14. Theorder was sent in on Monday 10/27/14 and accepted by the manufacture on Tuesday10/28/14.The approval email includes the sections below. These sectionshave thorough explanations. I’ve recapped the pertinent information below.Order ConfirmationProcedure:· This section explains how to reply if the orderis correct and how to make any changes if required.Things you shouldknow:· This section does state average delivery timeshowever it clearly states “This is not a guarantee of aspecific date of delivery”. It also states the manufacture tries toinstall all units within 60 days of approval. Day of installation:· What to expect the day of delivery andinstallation.Contact information:· How to contact us.Order cancellation:· The purpose of the deposit.· Time frame to cancel an order and received afull refund of the deposit.· How to cancel if the full refund time has passedand that the customer has three years to use the refund towards the depositportion of any building.· Deposits on custom size unitsare non refundable.Mr [redacted] asked for his building to be installed as soon aspossible. We said we can request a rush order however it was no guarantee dothe time of year. He still had to obtain his permit and put his concrete slabin. He was told his plans would take 7 to 10 working days to arriveand he received them in 10 days. He wanted the free engineeredgeneric plans. It was explained at that time that local codesmay override the footing requirements of the generic plans. Thegeneric plans show 12” x 12” footings however many local codes require largerfooting due soil and or weather conditions. Again this was explained to him. This refers to the $2500 additional costs in his complaint. During the ten day period until he received his plans Mr[redacted] emailed or called daily asking about his plans. Our answer was the sameeach time “the manufacture is working on them and he will have them soon”. Weasked him to notify us when he received the plans and also to notify us when hereceived his permit. He did notify us when he received the plans. We asked tobe notified when he received his permit so we could notify the manufacture sothey would know it was ok to schedule him as soon as possible. We have neverreceived notification that he had his permit. The [redacted] website showthat the application has been filled out however it has not been permitted asof 1/25/15.In the Complaint Background part of his complaint Mr [redacted]shows the following Complaint Background:Product/Service: 15x25x9 Certified Vert A roof 12 gauge GaragePurchase Date: 10/27/2014Problem Occurred: 10/28/2014Mr [redacted] states that the problem started one day after he ordered. He called and or emailed daily until hereceived his plans, which had to be drawn specific to his building because itwas a custom size,10 working days after the order was confirmed on 10/28/14.These processes and time frames where explained to Mr[redacted] multiple times. Including that heordered in the beginning of winter and we would put on his order asking fordelivery as soon as possible however no guarantee was made for a specificdelivery time. Mr [redacted]’s “Desired Settlement” asked for delivery withintwo weeks of his complaint yet he cancelled his building six days after thiscomplaint was filed. He asked for his security deposit back when it is clearlyin the “Terns and Conditions” that when custom size unit plans are sent thedeposit is non-refundable. He also wanted a $1000.00 discount on a $4500 + taxbuilding which there is not even that much profit in that size unit. We did gethim a $300 discount, not the $200 discount he claims in his complaint. Hisorder does state “Press Install, cust needs ASAP” as wetold him we would ask for but couldn’t promise a specific delivery date due toit being winter and the factory is closed three weeks for Thanksgiving ,Christmas and New Years. We did everything possible to keep Mr [redacted] informed anddid everything we could to get his unit installed in the quickest timepossible. He completely disregarded all the information he was given when hisorder was placed and multiple times during the several conversations we hadthat is why he is dissatisfied with the outcome. It is likely that his unit would be installed by now had henot cancelled it.

Review: On 6/20/14 my order was accepted and my credit card was debited for the down payment. about 6 weeks later and not hearing anything from the order I emailed the company and was told they would email me back an update, never happened. After 8 weeks and no up dates I asked for an update once again and never received it. I have sent 2 more emails since then asking to cancel the order and refund my down payment, and also confirm both.Have not heard anything from them.Desired Settlement: A full refund of down payment and a bad review against the company so others may read it and beware.

Response:

Mr [redacted],

Your refund request was sent in on 8/18/14 and approved on 8/21/14 by [redacted] which takes about 30 days to process. I understand your frustration however we covered delivery and installation several times during this process. The detailed information on the communications are listed below in this email. Also at the very bottom of this email is your reply "Approved as Written" to the approval email which contains information about delivery and installation times.

In response to your complaint to the Revdex.com I've detailed as much information as possible below.

Small town such as Hazlehurst are hard to put a run together and get installed in the normal 2 to 4 weeks which 85% of the jobs are completed. A run consists of from $20,000 to $24,000 worth of units. That can take longer in small or out of the way towns.

We do our best to cover this in both the FAQ section of the web site and again in the approval email which you where sent and approved. That email also contained the factory order form from [redacted] Carport which is the installing manufacture for your area, read below.

The approval email was sent out on 6/20/14 and you approved it on 6/23/14. The order was sent for manufacture on 6/23/14.

INFORMATION CONTAINED IN APPROVAL EMAIL:

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

The attached order is your receipt for your deposit. The order will be processed within three days of this email and sent to manufacturing. However it cannot be scheduled for installation until a reply is received.

Once your reply is received your order will be sent to scheduling. You will be contacted two to four days in advance to schedule installation. The scheduling department will need to speak to you in order to confirm the date of installation. The manufacture tries to install all units within 60 days of approval. The average time is 2 to 6 weeks. 85% of units are installed within 4 weeks. This is not a guarantee of a specific date of delivery. However the manufacture does everything possible to install your building in as short as time possible. If you have not heard from the scheduling department within 30 days of approval please contact us.

FAQ SECTION OF WEB SITE:

How long will it take to get my carport delivered after I place and order?

The manufactures try to install the units within a 4 week period from the time an approved order is received. In some cases it is done sooner however it can take longer depending on the time of year and location. Some areas will close for the winter in areas with extreme weather and low temperatures. Some locations are in out of the way areas and do talk longer to put a run together for those areas. Buildings over 24' wide require special construction and can take longer to manufacture. The manufactures do their best to contact every customer within 60 days of ordering.

Detail information: All of the below communications are before 60 days after order approval.
