My mortgage was sold by *** ** *** to Carrington Mortgage starting July 1st I received a letter from the former in June relaying this info stating that they would send a welcome packet with a loan # soon, nothing else about our loan would change, and late charges could not apply up to days On approx July ( I can provide phone records to verify) I called the Carrington # on the letter from *** to get info on starting to make payments as we have struggled in the past I was told that they did not have any account info yet and I should wait for their welcome letter with the new account # and address and then start sending payments A letter dated July 11th arrived July 19th it was a very formal, standard letter giving only the total of our loan that remains and a new account # No monthly pay slips of anything I send a monthly payment using the address in the letter and made sure our new account # was on the check I received nothing else from Carrington until a c

My mortgage lender, Carrington Mortgage LLC, failed to pay my home insurance, letting it lapse on 02/06/When I called them, their rationale was "we never received an invoice"I was told by Brittany at Carrington that I could pay it myself and close my escrow accountShe stated that the type of mortgage I have, "a USDA PMI loan" IS eligible for escrow removalI paid the $to *** *** for a year's worth of insurance myself that day (02/09/16) and my policy was reinstated immediately Then I mailed the request to close my escrow account to Carrington as instructedNow Carrington will not allow me to close the account, nor will they refund my insurance money because they state my type of loan must have an escrow account and that they do not refund escrow moneyIt is not acceptable that they keep my money like this

I re-financed my mortgage I was instructed by the loan officer to hold off on payment because the loan would close by the end of the month in September and I would be bringing to the closing the new payment amount That didn't happen and I was instructed to go ahead and make the payment that day to avoid getting it in past days late and I did The next month (October) the refinancing was still in process and I was told that I would be skipping two months and would require nothing at closing and my next payment would not be due until December At closing, on October 26th, I was informed that I needed the new payment of $ After questioning the amount based on what was told to me by phone, I was instructed to sign the documents and wait for further instructions after some research was done Later that evening, I was told that the new payment was needed and the next day, October 27, I made the wire transfer as instructed However, I recently received notificatio

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please refer to original complaint: *** Proceeding the submission of my original complaint to the Revdex.com, I was assigned the Director of Home Retention, *** ***, to work on my caseI was advised that the costs assigned to the assumption of my mortgage would be covered by Carrington and that the assumption of my loan by my pre-qualified buyers would be that which paved the way for all other assumptions since they did not previously know how to handle a mortgage assumption, although this type of transaction has existed for many decades*** first made contact with me in the middle of November and assured me that a conservative estimate would be that we would close on the assumption of the property before the end of Throughout the second half of November and all of December, *** continued to send additional requests for information that was not requested on the original Assumption packet that we received and completed, submitted on 10/7/Documentation was submitted immediately upon requestThroughout this time period, *** never once proposed an official closing date and 1/1/came around and we never received any justification on why closing did not happen before the end of as we were originally toldThe buyers of my home secured an agent to represent them and assist with our understanding of requestsA closing date was set for 2/6/with the potential to be extended to 2/13/When I received this information in late January 2015, I immediately moved out of my home, moved into an apartment, and began working on cleaning my house, applying touch up paint, and fixing small damages to the walls/trim/caulking, etc as to prepare the house for the new buyersOn 2/5/2015, I received an email that we would not be closing on 2/I did not receive another email from *** until 3/(additional explanation will be required)I need this assumption to be completedBecause the timeline expanded by so much, accommodations have been made on my and the buyer's part as we attempt to maneuver our way through this processThe buyers of my home were prepared to move to be reassigned to *** (they are military) had the closing have occurred in They lost this opportunity since the closing was not complete and now the cosigner is being discharged from the military and will be able to come occupy the home, however Carrington has been pushing back on the closing of the property because they do not have the official date that she will be moving to ** to reside in the houseAdditionally, I am now responsible for both an apartment that I am living in and the mortgage of the house because I was not notified in due time that we would not be closing so that I wouldn't incur unnecessary expensesI need this closing to occur within weeks of the date this second complaint has been submitted

Dear Ms***,
The Customer Advocate Department of Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC (“CMS”) is in receipt of your complaint filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) and received in our office on March 30, CMS is committed to responsible lending and servicing, and we would like to address any concerns you may haveThe following is our response to the issue(s) raised in the inquiry
As we understand your complaint, you state that CMS is reporting your modified payments as missing or late to the credit reporting agenciesIn addition, you indicate that the prior servicer, *** ** *** (“***”), is reporting the status of your payments incorrectly to the credit reporting agenciesYou would like CMS to submit credit corrections
At the outset, please note that the Customer Advocacy Department also received an inquiry from you filed with the Revdex.com (“Revdex.com”) and received in our office on March 31, That inquiry raises the same issues as this complaintAccordingly, the Customer Advocacy Department will address both complaints concurrently with this response
Our records indicate that this Federal Housing Administration (“FHA”) insured loan originated on or about January 23, for $127,Enclosed is a copy of your Note and Mortgage both dated January 23, The servicing of this loan transferred from *** to CMS on or about August 1, Enclosed is a copy of the August 3, Notice of Servicing Transfer (“Hello Letter”) advising you of the transfer to CMS
We understand that you have raised certain concerns regarding the servicing practices of ***CMS is unable to comment on the claims made regarding ***, and we encourage you to contact *** directly for any questions or concerns relating to the servicing of the loan prior to August 1,
On May 28, you filed for Chapter Bankruptcy in the U.SBankruptcy Court Middle District of Florida, JacksonvilleIt is our understanding that your mortgage debt was reaffirmed as a part of the bankruptcy discharge on or about September 9, A reaffirmation agreement is a promise to pay a certain debt that would normally be discharged in bankruptcyIf you reaffirm the mortgage debt and subsequently fail to pay it, the debt remains owed as if there was no bankruptcy discharge and CMS may take action to collect the debt
On August 26, 2015, CMS approved you for a FHA Home Affordable Modification (“HAMP”) Trial Period Plan (“TPP”) AgreementThe TPP required you to remit four payments each for $724.52, from October 1, to January 1, When CMS approved you for the TPP, your loan was currentAccordingly, CMS should have suppressed credit reporting until the modification is completed but did not do soWe sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that may have resulted from this oversight
Upon receiving your complaint, we submitted the enclosed Automated Universal Data (“AUD”) form to the major credit reporting agencies, requesting them to update your history to reflect “D”, which suppresses credit reported beginning September and continuing through January Furthermore, we suppressed your credit profile to prevent any additional payments from being reported as delinquent while CMS works to complete the modificationcredit reporting will resume when the modification is complete
After you successfully completed the TPP, CMS approved you for a FHA-HAMP Loan ModificationHowever, CMS cannot complete the modification until it obtains bankruptcy court approvalUntil your modification is completed, your mortgage statements may continue to reflect your regular payment amount instead of the modified paymentYou will need to continue making payments at the trial amount until the modification is approved by the bankruptcy courtTypically, CMS will hold these payments in an unapplied status instead of applying these payments to the loanOnce the modification is approved by the bankruptcy court, CMS will post each unapplied payment to the loan in chronological order, with the most delinquent date being the first payment appliedThen, CMS will apply the modified terms to the loan and resume credit reporting
We trust that this communication addresses all of the concerns noted in your complaintCarrington Mortgage Services, LLC is committed to customer satisfaction and we look forward to resolving any concerns you may haveWe can be reached at *** *** Monday through Friday, 8:AM to 5:PM, Pacific Time

Why do they have an A+ at Revdex.com they have nothing but negative reviews on every website I've ever seen!!! Please if you value your sanity stay far away from this company! They seem to be a scam company they tell you you have been preapproved make you go through so many hoops and hurdles and after you've done all that and have done everything they've asked you to do and more they'll come back with another excuse for something elsethey've been working on my loan for months now!!! I've decided to finally drop them and go with somebody local I can't put up with their *** anymore their underwriters are a joke! My closing date has been changed five different times and as of this month it was postponed again Everybody in this office is so unprofessional they do not answer your phone calls or emails knowing how very important it is and that your house is on the line they just don't care!!! I've also never seen somebody have zero knowledge about mortgages than half the people I talked to hereThey tell you you been approved to go get a house and then they string you along for as long as they can and make excuse after excuse as to why they can't continue the loan yetI've never seen a company lie as much as they have and again their underwriters are the biggest joke of them all! Please go to somebody else for your loan I don't care if they tell you you been preapproved that's just their stck to string you along they also make you pay for everything up front( inspection, appraisal etc) knowing that they're probably not giving you a loan.most mortgage companies put that in your loan but not them they make you pay it upfront why because they know they're not gonna to end up giving you a loan anyway.Reason for their new excuse as to why I can't have a loan I have too much money in my bank?! Wtf yeah ok sounds legit...Not!

My loan was sold to Carrington from Chase I was behind due to a job change and slow work I was given an amount to be completely up to date with my loan I sent certified funds within days and they sent the check back stating it was a day late I was not given a date that it had to be there and now they are tacking on another dollars or threating to foreclose I have had my mortgage sold a few times over the past years and this is the worst company I have every dealt with

The company admitted in their own response that they have had to re-evaluate and adjust my Escrow and Total monthly amount due different times within a month period (starting with their incorrect overpayment of taxes and insurance premium which caused an incorrect calculation in my escrow and Carrington's cushion) and that I made payment as instructed that they put in a suspense accountMy account was paid as agreed, was never late or non-payment, and refunded the incorrect late chargesWhy has allegations of non-payment and late payment been reported to show on my credit report and why is Carrington not taking steps to remove this incorrect information? I have seen other customer complaints reporting this same incorrect handling of their escrow and mortgage accounts, and feel this is simply a tactic Carrington is performing in order to collect extra money and lock customers in by destroying their credit which prevents them from refinancing with another financial institutionAs you stated, I have called several times and made many attempts to work with Carrington to correct these issuesI worked too hard and long to achieve the high credit score I had previous to this fiasco in which Carrington created, and expect Carrington to correct it on my credit reportIf not, then I will have to report to VA board, post this as warning on all social media sites fro my followers, and seek legal representation
