Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:the contractor has NOT completed the work as he committed to First of all - thank you for your consideration and understanding - I am anxious to get the case re-opened as I can anticipate that the contractor will try to drag his feet again - he has been paid in advance thus he has no incentive to finish - a lesson that I have learned from this experience My goal this year is to rent the unit - but I can not rent the unit while the contractor is working there because he has a history of making "non professional" advances towards the tenants - I can not put my tenants at risk I need the work completed as soon as possible - it should not take him more than two weeksSecondly - the contractor has mentioned - not a professional environment: The home is located in Lakeway, Texas - an upscale area The house is empty as I live in FloridaThe work area (basement) is empty If the contractor feels uncomfortable he can assign his other employees to finish the work or reimburse me for the work not completed and issue receipts for the work completedThirdly - the contract has mentioned - I did not accept his offer to complete the work:I never disagreed with him completing the work - what I requested was a written list of the:1- work to be completed.2- tasks, and estimated dates of completion.3- A non-performance penalty - because he has a history of not completing the work due to events outside of his controlAfter reading the contractor’s response I was not clear on what the contractor offered to rectify the situation but I was willing to work things out provided he completed the work within a specified time frame (a professional contractor estimated the work should take about two weeks), with penalties for non-performance even if they are out of his control – the contractor has employees who can do the work If he really cared about customer service he would work weekends to finish the work – or should I say if the shoe was on the other foot – that is what I would doThe contractor has habitually not shown up to complete work by providing a list of “uncontrollable” yet very convenient incidents (including more than deaths, a divorce, multiple truck breakdowns, loss of his legs, an employee falling from scaffolding) – some of these I am sure were real but some of them appear to be fabricated with malice aforethought If the contractor is allowed to proceed without a specific list of tasks to be completed by a specific due date and a penalty clause for non-compliance - the contractor will leverage his definition of a project forever or until the other party gives in It appears that the contractor is using time as a weaponMy requests are pretty basic - I ask that the contractor:1- Agree to provide receipts for the work completed.2- Agree to complete all of the work outstanding.3- Agree to rectify the work where he did NOT follow my specification.4- Agree to bring the property up to code.5- Agree to provide a schedule of tasks, and estimated dates of completion of the items.6- Agree to a non-performance penalty.I sincerely appreciate your help in this matter I am open to any form of conversation that you deem necessaryBest- [redacted] Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The contractor is presenting one side of the story which in my opinion is not a complete representation of the truth – furthermore some of the “facts” have been distorted to present things in the best light for himself.1- For the last two years I have asked the contractor for a schedule of tasks, associated costs estimated dates of completion – he has never fulfilled this request I have NOT hired anyone else nor have I stated so in text I ask for the contractor to submit evidence to support this allegation.2- The contractor has received over $65,of cash payments without providing me a receipt or his tax id.3- The contractor has directed me to make cash payments to his wife’s business account (a minority owned business) for work that he completed on my property without providing me a receipt or his tax id 4- The contractor has directed me to make cash payments to his church (a not for profit business) for work that he completed on my property without providing me a receipt or his tax id.5- The contractor has NOT followed my specifications on the kitchen cabinets and back bedroom wall – he has not offered to rectify the situation.6- The contractor has “strong armed” me to send him money to complete work when the timing was not beneficial for me.7- I do not live in [redacted] and I have lost thousands of dollars flying from my domicile to meet with the contractor to validate his work and he has cancelled at the last minute without the courtesy of a phone call or text so that I can avoid the expense.8- I have paid for every invoice the contractor has submitted for the last years – 100% of the time the work was paid for in advance for the complete invoice amount 9- The contractor does not work in “workman’s cloths” instead he chooses to wear high-end designer t-shirts (which cost over $100) – I am not clear why he chooses to wear designer outfits I am concerned about his attire in that my tenants are typically single females left alone while their husbands are not home He has submitted an invoice for one of these designer t-shirts and I have repaid him 10- The contractor left his equipment on site while he left on a long vacation and demanded that I pay him for the equipment which he claims was “stolen” – I negotiated a settlement on this with him I have been told this is not standard for the industry and that he should have removed the equipment when he made the decision to take a vacation.11- I have changed the locks but I did not state for him not to return To the contrary I asked for him to coordinate his visit with a contractor who is a trustworthy friend of mineI ask for the contractor to submit evidence to support this allegation.12- I advised that the knobs (which cost $2.00) could be found in the kitchen drawerI ask for the contractor to submit evidence to support this allegation The request is TRIVIAL compared to the other work which remains and all parts exist for example:aAir conditionerbShower doorcHole in ceilingdRepair of the bedroom walleCompletion of the washer dryer closet.fCompletion of the hallway closet.13- I am not clear on what the contractor has offered to rectify the situation but I am willing to work things out provided he completes the work within the next four weeks (a professional contractor estimated the work should take about two weeks):aAgrees to provide his tax id and receipts for the work completed.bAgrees to provide a schedule of tasks, and estimated dates of completion.cAgrees to complete all of the work outstanding.dAgrees to rectify the work where he did NOT follow my specification.eAgrees to bring the property up to code Regards, [redacted] ***

My name is [redacted] I am the owner of D.F.Etc and have been for yearsWe made an offer to Mr [redacted] to settle on the small amount of work to be completed in his home, due to an unprofessional atmosphere that had been createdMr [redacted] explained to me that he had a General Contractor who came to Mr ***'s residence and said he believed the work could be completed in weekI believe this is an accurate amount of time to complete Mr ***'s jobDo to the circumstances, I felt to offer Mr [redacted] a compensation in the amount of $2500.00, which greatly exceeds the cost needed to complete the completion of the job, Mr [redacted] denied the offer after several attempts to address the matterWe have tried everything in our professional power to attempt to resolve this matterBy conversing through email and the Revdex.comI am sadden that this issue has not been resolved, as I have called Mr [redacted] my friendEverything that has been completed up to this date was approved by Mr [redacted] via pic or video.Thank you [redacted] D.F.Etc

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The contractor is a man of many personas on the outsideOn the outside the contractor is a:1- [redacted] with a [redacted] *** 2- Family Man3- Creative Home Remodeler4- Man of the Law (he holds a [redacted] and [redacted] ***)5- Man of Faith (he has [redacted] )It appears that the contractor leverages these personas when they are convenient to the situation and can be used to position matters to his own advantage. It is incongruous to me that a man of [redacted] ***, with years of contracting experience, who [redacted] and [redacted] at all times, and [redacted] can be stressed by a remodeling job in [redacted] , Texas Unfortunately it appears that the contractors’ emotions have been tweaked as he is bringing up other peoples’ names, and making allegations which are not entirely factual nor germane to the topic at hand Once again he is presenting only the details which benefit his side of the story and he is intentionally withholding information to position matters to his own advantage For the record – the up-flush toilet system is allowed in [redacted] , Texas I do not appreciate the public slander and the insinuation that I am doing something illegal The contractor is a public servant – not the judge, not the jury If we use the contractors’ definition of “completed” project – the project will never be complete – he has already stated that he is not qualified to finish the AC project It is my position that this is not (one) project but a series of projects which are related to a single vision – build out the basement so it can be sold as livable space The vast majority of the projects were associated with separate estimates created by the contractor– these separate estimates have been completed 100% which he could provide invoices for including but not limited to:1) AC2) Flooring3) Kitchen Cabinets 4) Man Cave Accent Walls5) Hallway Chandelier6) TV divider7) Ceiling with Recessed lighting8) Electrical runs with outlets.9) Doors and Door TrimThe contractor has habitually not shown up to complete work by providing a list of “uncontrollable” yet very convenient incidents (including more than deaths, a divorce, multiple truck breakdowns, loss of his legs, an employee falling from scaffolding) – some of these I am sure were real but some of them appear to be fabricated with malice aforethought If the contractor is allowed to proceed without a specific list of tasks to be completed by a specific due date and a penalty clause for non-compliance - the contractor will leverage his definition of a project forever or until the other party gives in It appears that the contractor is using time as a weaponAfter reading the contractor’s response I am not clear on what the contractor has offered to rectify the situation but I am willing to work things out provided he completes the work within a specified time frame (a professional contractor estimated the work should take about two weeks), with penalties for non-performance even if they are out of his control – the contractor has employees who can do the work:aAgrees to provide his tax id and receipts for the work completed.bAgrees to provide a schedule of tasks, and estimated dates of completion.cAgrees to complete all of the work outstanding.dAgrees to rectify the work where he did NOT follow my specification.eAgrees to bring the property up to code. The scenario is simple – the contractor claims to be a professional and was paid 100% up front for 100% of the work, and has been aware of my need to complete the project in for over (one) year If he cares about customer service he or one of his employees can work weekends to finish the job – there are seven weeks remaining this year. Now that the contractor has been paid 100% up front for 100% of the work does he intend to live up to his personas’:1- As a professional: accept accountability for his work, his word, his reputation and finish the job? And also rectify work completed where he did not follow specification of the code, and of the owner As a professional can he provide a written list of outstanding items which need to be completed?2- As a member of society and tax payer: accept accountability and provide his tax id and receipts for the work completed.3- As a man of the cloth: be a humble servant of God - do unto others as you would have them do unto you.4- As a man who [redacted] ***: be a public servant - not JUDGE and JURY.5- As family man: serve in the role of a professional who can be trusted by his wife while away from home and respected and admired by his childrenRegards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Dear Revdex.com: DF Etc issued a refund to me which was acceptable, however, DF Etc, [redacted] , still has not paid the ubcontractors he used to pour, and then repair my concrete driveway His business practices are terrible; the way he deals with his subs is incomprehensibleThe fact that he will not produce requested lien waivers speaks for itself From the refund I received, I partially compensated one of the subcontractors, but Mr [redacted] promised and then refused payment of the balance to this subHis business license should be revoked; there is absolutely nothing good that I can report about this company Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: On July 31, 2017, I had a licensed home inspector to inspect DFEtc construction work They found poor workmanship, several Extra large ridges were present, shingles not color matched, valley not allowing water drainage, new sections of roof did not have full seals in multiple areas, several joists hangers missing, soffit area left open exposing attic to animals and water, several vents not sealed as DFEtcstated Dead valley present allowing water to pool and roof to leak The Patio roof is leaking, and Electrical had safety issues Be aware that DFEtc does shoddy work, demands most money up front, and drags out construction for weeks and months past the completion dates Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: ***
Dear Ms*** and the Revdex.com, I would like to thank you and the Revdex.com for affording all consumers the opportunity to use this venue as a vehicle to expose businesses such as DF Etcand to help protect others from unethical behavior such as demonstrated by Mr*** *** of DF Etc (aka Designer Floors)I would also like to thank Mr***, not for refunding some of my deposit from his ill-fated attempt to build my detached garage, but for providing yet another digital record/response on 4-25-17, further demonstrating his unsettling demeanor and irrationality. I will not respond to nor dignify the school yard taunts he made in his 4-message, but would like to otherwise set the record straight on several key points. I fired Mr***, he did not fire meHe was fired because he could not even pour the correct concrete for my driveway extension. He was fired because of his “shoddy, sub-standard, and in some cases dangerous” work. I had to only walk across my neighbor’s yard to see first hand how poor his work was. I met several other neighbors through a common bond: terrible construction techniques, delays and lies by DF EtcI personally witnessed him treat a sub contractor with disrespect and verbal assault, and that subcontractor has yet to be paid a dime by Mr***. I never asked any of his employees to work for me “on the side” as, once again, I will forevermore distance myself from anyone that has anything to do with the DF Etc type of low quality workOn the contrary, a number his current employees, and/or fired and unpaid former employees, approached me and asked me if I had any work for them. I fired Mr*** because does not have a clue as to how to produce a legitimate lien waiver: very difficult if you fire your subcontractors under very questionable circumstances and don't pay them. I fired Mr*** so as to provide a message to my neighbors; helping to protect them from making a mistake like I almost did: my pride is not hurt, I am thrilled that I will not have to deal with this individual again; thrilled that I will save thousands by contracting out the remaining construction phases on my own. Ms***, again thank you for your help. Considering Mr***’s responses, I trust that the Revdex.com will now have sufficient information on this business to rate it accordingly. Should you need additional information please feel free to contact me as I have pages and pages of additional text message examples from Mr***, further confirming all the above. Regards, *** ***-Consumer *** *** *** *** *** ***

Ive been in business 26 years. NOT because I do bad work, bad business  OR do people wrong.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The contractor is presenting one side of the story which in my opinion is not a complete representation of the truth – furthermore some of the “facts” have been distorted to present things in the best light for himself.1- For the last two years I have asked the contractor for a schedule of tasks, associated costs estimated dates of completion – he has never fulfilled this request.  I have NOT hired anyone else nor have I stated so in text.  I ask for the contractor to submit evidence to support this allegation.2- The contractor has received over $65,000 of cash payments without providing me a receipt or his tax id.3- The contractor has directed me to make cash payments to his wife’s business account (a minority owned business) for work that he completed on my property without providing me a receipt or his tax id.  4- The contractor has directed me to make cash payments to his church (a not for profit business) for work that he completed on my property without providing me a receipt or his tax id.5- The contractor has NOT followed my specifications on the kitchen cabinets and back bedroom wall – he has not offered to rectify the situation.6- The contractor has “strong armed” me to send him money to complete work when the timing was not beneficial for me.7- I do not live in [redacted] and I have lost thousands of dollars flying from my domicile to meet with the contractor to validate his work and he has cancelled at the last minute without the courtesy of a phone call or text so that I can avoid the expense.8- I have paid for every invoice the contractor has submitted for the last 3 years – 100% of the time the work was paid for in advance for the complete invoice amount.  9- The contractor does not work in “workman’s cloths” instead he chooses to wear high-end designer t-shirts (which cost over $100) – I am not clear why he chooses to wear designer outfits.  I am concerned about his attire in that my tenants are typically single females left alone while their husbands are not home.  He has submitted an invoice for one of these designer t-shirts and I have repaid him.  10- The contractor left his equipment on site while he left on a long vacation and demanded that I pay him for the equipment which he claims was “stolen” – I negotiated a settlement on this with him.  I have been told this is not standard for the industry and that he should have removed the equipment when he made the decision to take a vacation.11- I have changed the locks but I did not state for him not to return.  To the contrary I asked for him to coordinate his visit with a contractor who is a trustworthy friend of mine. I ask for the contractor to submit evidence to support this allegation.12- I advised that the knobs (which cost $2.00) could be found in the kitchen drawer. I ask for the contractor to submit evidence to support this allegation.  The request is TRIVIAL compared to the other work which remains and all parts exist for example:a. Air conditionerb. Shower doorc. Hole in ceilingd. Repair of the bedroom walle. Completion of the washer dryer closet.f. Completion of the hallway closet.13- I am not clear on what the contractor has offered to rectify the situation but I am willing to work things out provided he completes the work within the next four weeks (a professional contractor estimated the work should take about two weeks):a. Agrees to provide his tax id and receipts for the work completed.b. Agrees to provide a schedule of tasks, and estimated dates of completion.c. Agrees to complete all of the work outstanding.d. Agrees to rectify the work where he did NOT follow my specification.e. Agrees to bring the property up to code.

I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Revdex.com:  DF Etc issued a refund to me which was acceptable, however, DF Etc, [redacted], still has not paid the 2 ubcontractors he used to pour, and then repair my concrete driveway.  His business practices are terrible; the way he deals with his subs is incomprehensible. The fact that he will not produce requested lien waivers speaks for itself.  From the refund I received, I partially compensated one of the subcontractors, but Mr [redacted] promised and then refused payment of the balance to this sub. His business license should be revoked; there is absolutely nothing good that I can report about this company.

Hello, My name is [redacted] I'm have been the Sole Owner of this Company for over 20 years. We were actually working on this job before the client contacted me and stated he was nor pleased. He requested many add one delaying the job site and repositioning products causing my workers to have to patch...

sheetrock. After 20 years of business I can tell you it's almost impossible to match texture exactly. My company schedule is out 6 months. The client with proof from [redacted] in [redacted],Tx can agree has changed products so much that we don't know what's what. I sent him a request asking for location of knobs and the client did not know where they were. I hate that this individual has spoken of me this way I've known this gentleman for approximately 5 years. I have considered him a friend. The client has changed his locks and asked us not to return. He asked that we complete the job however told me personally via text in which I have that he changed the locks and hired someone elese. I see that he is asking for a sum of $1000.00 for this work, it may be $250.00 worth of work. However I have delivered materials for him back and forth to [redacted] and  have. otherwise been paid my $750.00 delivery charge. Please feel free to contact me on my cell phone if anything elese is needed. I am proud to be a member of Revdex.com and don't like any complaints as you can see after so many years... I look forward to hearing from you..  Thanks [redacted]

Good evening I could not respond to the initial complaint. However I would like to send you an email. This gentleman was taking full care of I will not answer him on the behalf of any other clients and yes he does have a signature with my name on it and a contract with his full refund that stage there will be no liens or waves on his house. As you can see this guy is butthurt because we refused to do his job professionally I made this decision due to the fact that he was requesting my employees to do work on the side for him so I rejected his job and he can't handle that not only that but I did his neighbor's house and I've done 15 other houses in the neighborhood with zero issues. So this gentleman has an issue because I refused to do his job and his pride is hurt. I will not continue to respond to somebody that is bringing up other issues with people that he has no business in. And if the Revdex.com wants to take his side or reject my answers and have at it because I will not spend my time or days explain into anybody my actions because I have always handle my business in one way or the other. This gentleman has a lien release and has received his money to make a statement that I should lose my license because I did everything right is a person who has an issue. And mr. [redacted] after 26 years a business and this company will not lose its license because some [redacted] thanks that he has something to say to me. This person is retired and has nothing to do but stand in the yard and stare at my employees as we do the work across the street. He has a problem, a mental problem. And I can't do nothing about that. Nor will I continue to entertain him. If you have any more questions I will not respond to any more of your emails in regards to Mr [redacted]. You can call me. And if you guys want to remove me. Just let me know. But I will tell you this there are multiple of people that know me and know that my business is well.

Mr [redacted] owes my company $8100.00 If I have a rebuttal to anything he says. He immediately calls it disrespectful.  I have been in business 26 years. He signed a contract that states. Any added work must be approved and paid in full to do the work. Mr [redacted] has added on 2 additional...

projects to his work that has caused delays in materials and workmanship. Weather when working out doors is always a factor. My company does not get paid by delaying. The project that is left is wood under patio cost materials and labor $1980.00 the cost for additional stone and labour $1450.00 which is a total completion job @ $3430.00 to complete. Our company will not return any funds, however we will be seeking final payment. Mr [redacted] asked my company to do an additional project had his check in hand asked me to write him a add in contract, my guys began. When I handed him the contract,  he refused to pay.  I think it's terrible when someone can abuse a contractors contract then they themselves say they are the victims. Thank you for your time

Well hello again. My name is [redacted] I am the owner of D.F.Etc also known as Designer Floors Etc.. I will respond with short responses it doesn't matter what kind of clothes I wear on a job site that is absolutely irrelevant. This project and this president has said for 5 renter since I've been here the first gentleman was a black gentleman in the family the second was a single white lady recently divorced the third was a single white man and the fourth was a very nice couple with children from [redacted] Texas. The white lady and the white couple I am in contact with [redacted] today. The gentleman stated something of inappropriate yes and I don't appreciate that that's slander towards my name and it's unfounded. The gentleman is aware that all my contracts state that in order to change the contract or add to the contract the project must be paid in full. That is not strong arm that's professionalism and contract. That he obviously agreed to in order for me to continue moving forward. So there is no stance there. I do not have to give this gentleman any tax information. I have a wonderful tax attorney that handles all of that for me directly with the IRS. I have had tools stolen from the property do too many people coming in and out a property review and doors being left unlocked. My answer to rectify the situation is this. If agreed? I do not want [redacted] or [redacted] in my way I need a key to the property and let it be known that I cannot complete the task at hand until January 1st due to the fact that I am heavily contracted and the holidays are here. Again I will say to the homeowner in [redacted] I advised the homeowner not to paint the wall 10 because it would be hard to take off concrete the homeowner was keenly aware of that he decided to rock one of the painted walls and asked me to write the other one and I told him I did not have the time to do any more work for him. Anything that was done in that house is pre-existing there is no code violation. I did not install all the illegal Plumbing that was put in that house that is not permitted to this day. If this gentleman is in agreement I would ask him to make provision for me to get a key not through [redacted]. So that I may complete my task at hand and that all my tools be returned to me that was stolen by whom he says it's a contractor whom I have way more experience then. I will install the copper pipes on the air condition however I am not HVAC certified so I could not put freon in the AC as I have told this client before period the things that were not completed was due to the fact that he told me I was not permitted to be on the property anymore. We had finished painted Wednesday I got a text message from him that stated his plane lands at midnight I had no agreement no understanding or any knowledge of this man flying in from anywhere. So he did not plan flight to come see me he had a Flight Plan before seeing me. Or even discussing that with me. We were not able to make it Thursday or Friday due to me being behind. He came into town and said he would not be able to meet me Thursday ask me if he can meet me Friday and I told him we could come after lunch I text him and said we were eating lunch however I got behind then we begin to text about 3 or 4 o'clock where he stated I was not permitted to be back on the project. We had every intention on completing where we were within the next few days. The reason we didn't put the shower door on it's because we were delayed by plumbers the hole in the roof outside was not due to me it was due to a plumber. And the homeowner is aware of that. The embarrassment that he faces in the neighborhood is not due to me it's due to the way he treats his tenants. Who have become friends with the people that live there and complain about the way he treats them. As a professional I will not continue back and forth with the silliness. I have said a solution to rectify I need a key I will finish by January 1st I need [redacted] and [redacted] out of my way and I will complete the task at hand. We cannot put the barn door handle on because I told this gentleman that the handle was not right he also agreed with me it was not. I honestly don't know how else to respond. I told him that I would give him receipts while the job was completed. And that is what we do. We signed a contract at the start and then it is built on and built on and built on and when we are finished she gets an overall statement of work that was done in the property. Recently he asked me to add on to the property and add on to the work at hand and I refuse to do so due to the stress of this contract. I was asked if he could pay some now and some later and I told him the answer was no. He is allowed other contractors to come in and do other work in the house while we're there. They have spilled paint on the driveway then he accused my company of doing it. So if there is resolved and we can Rectify this way please advise I need a key [redacted] and I went out of my way completion by January 1st and also I have text from this gentleman [redacted] that only one person has reviewed this property since it's been empty that is not due to me that is due to a realtor. And I will not be blamed for that. There been many projects that I have been on that were literally in framing and someone came and purchase the property in framing the construction is being done in the basement that is not considered a livable space at this time is not anything that would hinder the sale of this property. I've been doing this well over 20 years any realtor that tells him that is being dishonest. Please advise as soon as possible so we can get this on its way. Thank you so much [redacted]

My name is [redacted]. I am the owner of D.F.Etc and have been for 26 years. We made an offer to Mr [redacted] to settle on the small amount of work to be completed in his home, due to an unprofessional atmosphere that had been created. Mr [redacted] explained to me that he had a General Contractor who came to Mr [redacted]'s residence and said he believed the work could be completed in 1 week. I believe this is an accurate amount of time to complete Mr [redacted]'s job. Do to the circumstances, I felt to offer Mr [redacted] a compensation in the amount of $2500.00, which greatly exceeds the cost needed to complete the completion of the job, Mr [redacted] denied the offer after several attempts to address the matter. We have tried everything in our professional power to attempt to resolve this matter. By conversing through email and the Revdex.com. I am sadden that this issue has not been resolved, as I have called Mr [redacted] my friend. Everything that has been completed up to this date was approved by Mr [redacted] via pic or video.Thank you[redacted]D.F.Etc
