KU is charging me a $deposit and a reconnect feeBoth of which I can't affordI think this is a little steep for having my power shut off
I thought my billing was on automatic, which it was notI left town for the Christmas holiday and came home to a house with no power and degreesI have small childrenI paid the past due and they reconnected itNow they want me to pay a deposit of $and a reconnect feeI cannot afford to do that right nowIf I don't pay by 2/the power will be shut off againI think it's wrong to charge me both a deposit and a reconnect fee I have no recourse and they know it, there is no other services in my areaAlso, I was told that I will get my deposit back in months, I am moving out before that and nobody can tell me if I will get it back because of this Also, they shut off my power over $I have small kids and I think that is unacceptable to do in freezing temperatures

Ridiculous time frame to reconnect service
Disconnected service at 9:a.mCalled customer service to be informed that the only information they could give that a technician had been dispatched at @ 1:p.mIt's now 3:p.mAnd still no reconnectionIt's 90+ degrees outside and there are kids and animals inside the residenceThis is ridiculous and unacceptableThis company didn't waste anytime disconnecting

The customer went to pay a bill on June 1, The customer paid more than the bill due, and the transaction was handled professionallyLater that day, the customer noticed some confusing verbage on the statementThe customer notified the company about the problem, but they said the verbage could not be changedThe consumer asked to speak with a supervisor, but the call was disconnected

My service was interrupted and I did not know my service
would be cut November and my service was cut off on November at 12:I hurriedly had to make a payment so I had a friend run over to a paying facility and made a paymentAfter I made a payment I called and they came out withing to minutes to turn it back onIt must have been a neighbor or someone in close proximity that does that in other wordsSo for that they charged me about approximately for the reconnect charge and because my service was interrupted, which was the first time ever they are charging me a deposit of which will be broken up in to a month payment processSo I made a payment in the beginning of January this month and now I'm suppose to pay another by January and I believe I still will owe over odd dollars after thatWowI don't see owe they expect me to pay for a deposit of which I shouldn't be charged for because I never received a notice that specified

Meters were switched at my apartment complex - was paying someone else's bill
In July 2016, my electric was shut off I contacted the maintenance guy in my apartment complex and he said it was a KU issue More than hours later, I found out that the meters were switched (no idea when or why!) So I've been paying on another customer's bill & vice versa In September, I noticed my electric bill was abnormally high I contacted KU again and the CS Rep had me shut off all of my breakers and check the meters Yep, the meter for the apartment across the hall was dead while the meter with my apartment # was spinning like crazy I called KU a week later and the CS rep did confirm that the meters were switched and they were looking into it She said this was a new incident to her in regards to crediting or fixing my account and that I need to call back in another week Today (9/23), I get a call from my mother who staying with me for days that the electric had cut off I call KU

Got scammed and was needing extra time
I got scammed Friday and I called Kentucky utility's to see if I could have extra time and they said they will tell a manager to contact me back and they did and I told them what had happened to the manager and she said yea I can't do that and she was a *** she didn't even want to help me she didn't even try or anything and she said I can't help it and if you don't have it payed by the 4th it was bgetting shut off I get payed Friday and I was going to pay it off thenThe manager didn't even care or anything she acted like a *** she didn't care but if it was here she would have gave herself extra time if that had happened to one of them and I didn't appreciate the way she acted or talked to me all I was asking if there was anyway I could pay it Friday and she didn't try to help me or anything so it's not right and if it's not taking care of I'm going to get a lawyer and get here fired because of here snotty attitude and smart *** and not wantin

I recently paid a bill at Kentucky Utilities in Richmond, KentuckyMy cousin had moved from her address and used my address for her cut off bill.When I went to pay my electric bill I grabbed the wrong bill and paid her cut off bill in the amount of $260.08.This was paid with a check from my checking account.When I realized what I had done and the amount I paid was not applied to my account but someone elseI go in person to KU and try to get them to apply the $to my account because I was sent a bill for $and some odd centsI have had to get heating assistance for a couple of my bills and tried to explain to KU that they should be able to apply the money to my accountThey said they couldn't My question to you is how can they allow someone to use your address to send their bill to without getting your permissionI have been virtually sick over this matter since it has happenedI realize it was my mistake but it was an honest oneWhy should my money go to pay a cut

Kentucky utilities is refusing to refund my deposit
In October I began a payment plan for a deposit for service with KUMy deposit was paid in full by Febuary When I contacted KU to received my deposit back they told me I didnt qualify to receive it back since my account had been past due a few timesMy account has never been disconnectedWhen I set up service with KU in Oct I was told that after year I would receive my deposit back in full as long as I never had my service disconnected, which has never happenedI wrote KU a letter weeks ago about this issue and have not received a response back

Winter Months Billing
My husband and I have received bills from KU Electric that are ridiculousOur electric usage is roughly the same as it is in the summer monthsWe are both never home, and our stayed completely off while we were gone, or was on Our bills ran between $80-$a month, and we are now getting bills for $200-$300+How is this? Hi, I called KU regarding our past due balance on our account for September totalling in the ball park of $and then the following bill of roughly $to be paid in October By as the bill states w disconnect possible ON Oct On Oct our utilities were cut offAfter I had talked with KU the month before explaining our situation w money, lost of job, inability to work at the time And that we would pay our bills but NEEDED time 7/I lost my job 7/I broke my ankle 7/I had surgery and almost died I weeks to weeks ago have been cleared to work I AM in the last stages of being hired as a school bus driver Which would allow us to pay our bills in full, but they still cut everything off after I had previously explained to them On top of this I never get a bill until it is a DISCONNECT notice which makes it hard to keep up WITHOUT having to pay late feesI don't feel I should have to pay a reconnection fee Which is not just bad business but unethica

Electric shut off for a $overdue bill
I currently am working out of town since October 31stApparently I had an outstanding balance of $and today 12/12/kentucky utilities shut off my electricSince I am currently in Pennsylvania I did not know about the outstanding balance My partner (whome is a nurse) called me after she got home from work telling me the power is outI immediately call ku at 5:pm make the $payment which is now going to be an additional $fine to turn the power back on The agent I talked too assured me the technician works until 11pm tonight and the power would be turned back on because we have an infant at home
At 9pm I call ku back to get an update for when they would be at the house to turn the power back on, the agent told me they wouldn't be there till tomorrow When I told her about talking to an agent earlier she told me that unfortunately even though I have an infant at home nothing was going to be done tonight
I am flabbergasted

My bill is electronically paid and since they did not process my bill in the right amount of time my service was shut off in winter and I have children
My service was shut off in winter without warning because of a mistake of the companies side my bill was paid and is always paid on time electronically and then when they found the problem they still told me pm for a reconnect and I have a year old and month old child it is in the afternoon now not to mention then food and things that can go bad in my refrigerator this is very poor service and a mistake by them should be corrected sooner

I was informed by customer service that there was a lifetime lock on my account that prevents me from paying online with with a credit card

Charged a late payment fee for a late payment that was not due to an error on my part

Extremely poor customer service and all around heartless company

Double payment deducted in error, online payment system not working properly
My acct #XXXXXXXXXXXX, I was double charged $on October 27th when I only authorized one payment I know I only submitted for one payment of $and have been having issues with the KU site, but no one seems to care I have reached out to KU and was informed that I was out of luck as it was processed and can't be undone even though it was a system error This is unacceptable for any company, let alone a company of this size They refuse to admit it was a system issue and not refund the $that was taken out of my account twice and they refuse to do any updates to a system they know has issues This is not the first time they have double deducted from a customers account and refuse to refund them back This company needs to be held accountable for their actions and pay back the double payment taken of $

Power was shut off 3/after good standing since over a partial payment issueBill says due 4/KU automatic bill pay not working
On March 28th I had my power shut off for "delinquent payment"I received a bill due on 3/for It appears that I paid of this with a the remaining payment going on this months billThis months bill says $due on 4/10/The rep pointed out that "past due balance subject to disconnection" is in small print on my billIt does not give a due date other than 4/10/In addition, they are saying I now owe a deposit in addition to a reconnect fee and subject to going on my credit reportI've been a KU customer since and never been disconnectedThe automatic bill pay for KU does not work with my bank, so I created a KU account to try to setup automatic payment and prevent this mess from ever happening again and it says my account is not illegibleWhile logged in I noticed the fee was already on
