CBC Settlement Funding LLC. Reviews (27)

I actually received a call from said business the end of July, at which point I told...

them I wasn't interested. The caller continued, 4 or 5 times, inquiring about my annuity. I told them then to remove me. I then received the mailings. On 8/03/15 I called and requested removal, then again on 08/25/15.  I keep track of all correspondence from these companies. So it wasn't just the one time phone call.

An Advance is cash paid up front to a client while we are processing a transaction. Often transactions can take 30-45 days to close and when clients have a pressing need we will pay an advance which is deducted from funding. Fortunately we were able to complete this transaction in about 10 days so not advance was provided.
It is clear that your understanding of the transaction was different from CBCs and the Purchase Agreement you signed. The normal way to address this is to rescind the transaction returning the parties to their position prior to the transaction. CBC would revert its rights in the annuity payments upon return of the purchase price you received. We have offered this now on several occasions and it is the appropriate remedy here.
Alternatively the file had about $435 in profit for CBC. We would be willing to pay you the $435 in exchange for your release and removal of this complaint.
Let us know what your preferred course of action is.

Review: I received an assignment to perform notary services and in part the emailed contractual confirmation stated they will "pay you promptly for your services". It's been 60 days: I called after 30 days and was informed by [redacted] that payment would be contingent upon another variable and that I would have to wait until that event occurred, which was not revealed in their contractual confirmation to me. In fact that is contrary to their promise to pay promptly for service rendered. Thus they are attempting to change the terms of our agreed upon contract, which I believe is a deceptive business practice. Furthermore I can not get anyone to return my calls.Desired Settlement: Overdue invoices should be paid immediately.

Response:

We normally pay notaries after each file is funded. Because the file never progressed towards the funded stage, [redacted] informed [redacted] to submit the notary invoices and they would get paid. [redacted] submitted the invoices and our Accounting department promptly paid **. [redacted] within two few business days of receiving the invoice.

Attached is a copy of our check to [redacted].

[redacted] spoke to [redacted] again today (May 19th) and he is happy, he received the check and will be retracting his complaint.

Respectfully,

Administrative Director

Regards,

Received a solicitation to cash in a pension annuity and threw it in the trash. Then received a cryptic postcard without the business name claiming a check had been returned to sender - call to reissue. It took me awhile to figure out it was a come on to cash in a pension. Not a business practice I would ever approve.

My annuity was part of the ELNY debacle and my funds where cut by 53%
Ever since this went public, this company ends me letters at least once a month and often makes calls asking if I'm in interested in selling what is left for pennies on the dollar.
I have called them several times, asking them not to call or send me junk mail all the time. And to be removed from their mailing list. Well I'm still getting their calls and letters every month rain or shine.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone at any time.

Review: I'm not going to say that they're the worse company to work with, but My experience is that: I decided it wasn't in my best interest to work with them any more because I didn't feel like I was being offered enough money for what I was trying to do. I asked them more than once that I may not be set and stone on doing a transaction with them, anyways. To make a long story short, once I communicated with them that I was moving on, they switched from nice, understanding, and helpful..To mean, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. They told me I owed them money in legal fees (not true), and that they would "probably proceed with the transaction anyways, to make sure they get their money." ..WOW they don't have any authorization to do this. I didn't decided to cancel any involvement with them at an unreasonable time. They tried to scare me into believing I had no choice but to continue with them (not true.) BEWAREDesired Settlement: I want an apology from them. They lied and tried to use scare tactics. I feel an apology from them would validate (to themselves) that they were wrong. Thank you 356-5817

RE: [redacted]. Case#[redacted]

**. [redacted] (her legal name) approached CSC Settlement Funding, LLC (CBC) in August of 2013 to sell her structured settlement payments pursuant to the Virginia Code Ann. §59.1-475,1, et seq. {the Virginia Act), 25 U.S.C. 5891, **. [redacted] executed a purchase agreement on September 11,2013. **. [redacted] was free to cancel her transaction until September 14,2013. After that date CBC expended out of pocket money to retain local counsel and file a petition for approval of her transfer. In mid-September following her cancellation period, **. [redacted] indicated that she wanted to back out. As is customary and stated in the contract, If she chose to cancel outside of the cancellation period the client would be responsible for costs expended on her behalf. **. [redacted] was not happy about that even though it was clearly stated in the contract.

On October 1, 2013, CBC agreed to increase her purchase price by $4,000 dollars and **. [redacted] put in writing that she desired to complete the transaction. **. [redacted]'s petition was approved by court on October 3,2013 and her funds were delivered on October 9, 2013.

Resolution:

At this time funds have been delivered to **. [redacted]. Transaction is now complete.

I received a mailing in the mail to buy out part of an annuity I have. They named the current holder .They received my name through open records. I contacted them telling them that I thought there mailing was bogus and I was hung up on , I called back and was rudely spoken too telling me that I can in fact do what was mentioned in the mailing, I informed them that I wanted to be taken off their mailing list. I contacted the current holder and made them ware of this issue. I am concerned about the legality of this company to pry on others who may receive the mailing and not understand in the state.??? Not all Annuities can be bought or partially be bought.
