Years ago, an extremely rude woman from a collection agency I'm not allowed to name called my telephone number looking a man. I tried to explain that I had recently been given the phone number and didn't know the person she was seeking, but she wouldn't listen and continued to plow me under. After that, they put me on their autodial harassment program and after several weeks of that I contacted Centennial Law Offices. I had hoped that they would quickly issue a cease and desist, but that didn't happen. The collection agency continued their harassment unabated until I was forced to change my number some six months later. I got a collection call from Lighthouse Recovery Associates. It was frustrating because they would not accept the amount I was able to pay. I had a collection company calling me that apparently went by several names including M&S Recovery. They left messages that didn't identify company name, just saying I was a person of interest, and they would launch an asset search and interview my friends and relatives. I filed a report with Centennial Law Offices and they took my case quickly. I received $1,000 AND the collection company erased the debt I allegedly owed. So they paid me $1,000 and erased the debt. I didn't have to pay anything to Centennial Law Offices since they collected their legal fees from the collection company.
