We hired Chakur designs to complete a concrete patio in our backyard. They were professional and helpful. The project was completed slightly late but no real issues. Immediately we noticed discoloration in the concrete, we inquired about this and were told it was still "drying". The color never resolved and was discolored throughout. Shortly after this we noticed large areas of pitting and chipping in the concrete. we have been contacting Alex directly and have been told many times we was coming out to evaluate with no response or resolution. We spent an additional $650 in special stain and paint to cover the surface and attempt to make the color uniform. Chakur design said they would fix these issues which was never done. We just asked for this project to be completed satisfactorily and we have been told over the past 2 years it would be fixed with no resolution or attempt to fix. We now have to hire another company to come out and fix their errors on a new patio.
We don't guarantee concrete, never have and never will. We always recommend customers clean and seal the concrete a couple months after it has been set. However, from the pictures that were included to us, this concrete was never taken care of in the timeframe that we recommended. We first heard about these issues on this after winter had come and gone. Naturally, with the use of salt and lack of sealing the concrete properly, this will cause effects for the concrete and will discolor it. We tried to provide a number of solutions for this consumer, we took a number of pictures and at one point I actually offered to seal and paint it for free but due to scheduling issues between both us and the consumer, this never happened. On 5-14-19, we also offered mulch and a tree to try and help this situation but it was never accepted. As mentioned before had the concrete been sealed in the timeframe we expressed, this issue would have likely never come up. We do not provide refund or repayment for something you purchased on your own.

Chakur Design has not completed work that was paid for July 26, 2017. Numerous phone conversations, emails, text messages have been exchanged. Many promises have been made by *** to complete the work, he never shows up. FINALLY he said he did not have time to complete the work & would refund part of the money.
Text dated 11-20-17 said he would try to get work done after Thanksgiving.
11-26 text said he would be out that week.
2-14-18 text said I was first on the list.
4-15-18 text said he would be over in a week or 2
4-20-19 text said he would be out next week
5-10-18 text said he just couldn't do it & would put check in mail Friday
5-10-18 text said he would put check in mail tomorrow morning
5-16 text said amt would be $375
5-25 text said he would send it himself
5-29 text he said he would send it, he would do it himself
I told him $375 was not enough to complete the open items, he said it was. I have still not received any check at all as of 6-6. I call and/or text him everyday. I have had no contact from him since 5-29.
He has had a history of not showing up and not following thru on promises since the inception of the job. He is very unprofessional and full of promises that he doesn't keep.
It has been a nightmare trying to work wih him. FYI - I have been told $375 doesn't come close to covering the open items, it would be more like $800.
We were initially brought out to this location to fix a retaining wall and put up a fence. We completed the retaining wall but due to issues with materials for the fence we were not able to complete that in a timely manner. While we were there and had the lack of other work outside of this location, we repaired a number of things around the house for her at no cost. As the season continues, work picked up and we did not have time to continue with these free repairs. Ms. Barker requested a refund for the fence and we gladly complied with that and refunded $3462 for the fence as requested. As it stands right now, we have nothing left on the contract that needs fixing. The last email I got was on 12-1-17 and at that point all issues had been resolved to my knowledge.

I am rejecting this response because:
*** has not stated truthful facts. He did not do a number of repairs around the house at no charge. There were at least 3 items that he promised to do, and for which he had already received full payment, that he did not complete. He continued to say that he would come back on this day, then on that day, then next week, etc. It went on like that for months. FINALLY he agreed to send me a check to compensate for the uncompleted items. Although the amount he promised was much less than it would take me to hire another contractor to complete the work I had already paid for, he NEVER sent the check. Continuing to lie to me many times saying he knows it was sent, doesn't know why I haven't received it, he will put it in the mail himself tomorrow, etc. etc. etc. Ultimately he stopped responding to my calls & text messages.
He even had the audacity to dump some rock & concrete on my side yard that he had left over from another job down the street. Without even saying anything to me about that. I come home & there is my side yard with a big pile of concrete & rock. Who does that. How disrespectful & plain rude. FINALLY he sent someone out to "clean it up", however there are always some bits of concrete left as well as rock & how good is that for the soil to try to get grass to grow there again. And try mowing the yard with that debris left there.
At this point in time I would not want him or his crew back on my property.
He talks a good ballgame, however he either doesn't deliver, or is very slow to deliver. He is the least professional contractor I have ever come across. I would never recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
