The name last name of the buyers were [redacted]. They now can look it up. We have already gotten screwed by them. We had to take the deal they gave us at the dealership so we could have a truck to pull the food trailer. I wish they would have given us the truck for the cost of the Ford 150 but they raised the price on the 250 and only gave my family members $1000.00 extra on the trade in of the truck they sold us that we were miss informed about. The towing package and weight it could haul. Thank you for your quick response to this matter.

I towed my vehicle (diesel) to Chapman Ford after it broke down. Their "diagnosis" resulted in over $5000 worth of repairs including a high pressure oil pump they claimed was bad. I towed the vehicle to a diesel shop in Mesa that found absolutely nothing wrong with the pump and repaired the vehicle for $2000. Chapman charged me $175 for their "diagnosis" and refuses to refund me the money. Beware of this business!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I had the car for a week before I was told I wasn't approved. I explained in detail my situation and how much of a car I should be approved for. The salesman insisted on putting me in that car. Yes, I make $12 hr and work 20+ hrs OT but also provided proof of $537 in additional income. I explained the 1 repo and my current separation as well. I was upfront . yes, after being told I had a car and getting insurance, ordering Sirius radio for a car I no longer have is humiliation. Why would I want to give them my business after  the fact. I don't believe that they should street a car with out having someone completely approved. That's just not how you do business. I would like to be refunded my cancelation fee for my insurance I had to get. Which I was told would be refunded to me today. But was only returned my $4500.00. Regards,[redacted]

I looked into this matter and when [redacted] requested that we put him in a less expensive vehicle, we did, and it was even at our cost because we paid the buy-back billed by the bank. We’ve reached out...

to [redacted] several times (even before this complaint) and he has not returned our calls. We were also unaware that he has not received his license plate and he is welcome to contact the dealership so we can assist him. He can use my contact information included in my email signature, if you’d like to pass that message along to him. Please let me know if you need anything further.

Hi Christopher – We have not forgotten about this. I apologize for the delay; we’ve had some personnel changes at our Body Shop. Current update is that the vehicle has been finished and delivered to the customer. Customer is happy and satisfied with the results. I’m not sure if this is...

enough information, so please let me know what else I can do to help complete this process. Thank you and have a great weekend!

I have a computer printed receipt that says road hazard on four tires a, LEGAL BINDING DOCUMENT,Chapman does not honor their own contract, it cost me four hundred dollars to replace tire and purchase [redacted] Road Hazard  warranty. We contacted the customer and offered to honor the bumper to him for the original price of $175.30. The customer declined as he did not need the bumper anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience and confusion,, we have since corrected the shipping portion of our listings to prevent any further...

I am writing this to warn other people about this dealership and to share my experience so others can possibly gain from it in their car purchase.

I began looking online for a compact 4-door car preferrably used. I settled on a 2012 ford focus and picked chapman ford because they had one in stock that I liked and felt was a reasonable price.

I arrived at 8:30 am. Met with the saleswoman I had emailed and talked briefly over the phone. We took the car for a test drive and I liked it. When we got back I filled out paperwork to check my credit and personal info. She said she was going in back to crunch numbers and see what kind of payment she could get me in at. She was nice and very helpful. A while later she came back with some other guy who suggested a new ford focus, I took that for a drive and liked it but was not sure I wantted the higher payment I thought it would be. I sat down again while they went to the back again. Later he came back looked me in the eye and said "how does $308 a month and 1.9% interest sound? Can you handle that?" I said yes and was happy that I could get such low interest (my credit is not the best) after much more waiting I finally got to the back room to sign what I thought would be final paperwork and drive away. The finance guy was quick and surprisingly did not try to sell me a warranty, I did not want one. Then he said my wife would need to come in and sign as well, why im not sure because I make the income she stays home. My wife came by for what we thought would be a quick sign and be done. We waited for an hour for them to be ready for her to sign. Then we get called back in and he starts saying he had to add a warranty for 6000$ dollars and rework the loan. He said because the bank wanted "peace of mind" that I did not deserve a 1.9% rate with my credit score and it should be up in the mid to high teens. That If I did not purchase the warranty the bank may not approve the loan, He said it would be peace of mind for me to. All I would have to worry about was gas and tires. He also stated he used some magical coupons to get me 1.9, these coupons ford gives to him because he sells so many cars, so he said. My wife asked if it could be canceled if we changed our mind. He said no. (Not true) I was tired of being there and wanted to leave with my new car so I reluctantly signed. After doing research at home on the owner guide and looking at scheduled maintence the cost to change air filters every 20000 miles I estimate to be 60-70$ each time. An oil change 60$ every 7500-10000 miles ( twice a year for my driving habits) other than that it asked for nothing until 100k miles where it says the engine coolant and transmission fluid should be flushed. Now I dont intend to have this car that long but sure lets say $400 for both, again im estimating but ive had transmission flushed on previous vehicles and it was about $150 so im giving a high number in my head. In total over the course of 6 years around 1500$ and I dont think it would be that much. For 6000$ up front with interest.

Buyer beware! Do not fall for these shameful tactics to lne salesmens pockets.

[redacted] wife picked up a check for $3500 on Monday 7/20

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that...

this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Their response makes no sense. They chose not to investigate the same problems I took my car in for a couple months before the accident. They wanted to charge me a lot and not even put it back together. I took my car to other mechanics and got backed opinions from them that Chapman Ford did not do what they said they did. For instance, they "overhauled" my carburetor and it was quite expensive but the mechanics I just talked to said it needs to be done again because they didn't even do it! They completely lied and don't care to correct their mistakes even though I am a long time customer for over 15 years. I went and got more comparisons to the invoices the gave me for "work done" and the new mechanics found even more lies.I can't believe this place has sunk this far. CHAPMAN ford lies to it's customers and doesn't care about doing work right. They use to have the slogan "Done right the first time" but I guess CHAPMAN ford made them get rid of it to save money...Regards,[redacted]

In response to [redacted] allegations that we did not overhaul his carburetor on the 1973 Torino and charged him for services not done is a completely false statement. If we did practice these types of services the Chapman Automotive Group would not be in business today after 30 plus years. It simply is not the Chapman way to deceive or take advantage of customers. However out of good will and to potentially make a customer happy Chapman Ford is willing to reimburse MR. [redacted] for the carburetor overhaul that was done,, simply out of good will.Chapman Ford does however recommend Mr. [redacted] take his 1973 Torino to a shop that specializes in restoring and repairing 40+ year old vehicles as Mr. [redacted] has mentioned that he is in the process of restoring the Torino while using it as a daily driver.Thank You,Chapman Ford

Purchased a vehicle from Chapman Ford in late August/early Sept and had issues with them getting the financing they promised. We financed our second car and gave Chapman Ford a check for the vehicle on Labor Day. Have called these people a dozen or so times with no return calls whatsoever. Had to drive down to Scottsdale from Cottonwood to discuss the issues. Have yet to get our title for the vehicle two months later. Chapman Ford is very unprofessional in handling their business, at least from our point of view. We need our title ASAP.Thank you.
