Review: I had been using this diet delivery service since July 2014 and had no complaints until the "blizzard" in late January 2015. Suddenly they stopped all operations and never resumed. Meanwhile they have my money for a month's worth of food and they have been all but non-communicative. When they do communicate by mass email, they make promises that they then fail to live up to. Then there's no one there to complain to, or even to talk to. No response to emails or phone messages.Desired Settlement: I would like a complete refund so that I can patronize a different service.

Review: I have been a customer for over a year, and the service routinely charged me a month cycle in advance. Last time I was charged a fee, and then delivery stopped coming. I was contacted by a representative saying everything will be OK two weeks ago. since then neither sales nor customer service numbers for the firm are working, and no one has reached out to me. By way of anecdotal evidence, I understand there are many people in similar situations.Desired Settlement: Get a refund for prepaid food delivery service

Review: I have used the Chef's Diet delivery service for more than a year with no problems. In January of this year, I renewed my order for meal service, and before my first delivery was scheduled NYC was hit with a snow storm which apparently disabled the delivery service. For a full month I would receive emails from Chef's Diet apologizing for the delay and promising dates that deliveries would resume, only to be delayed again. I finally gave up and asked for a refund, which they ignored. I have sent numerous emails and tried calling every phone number I can find and they are not responding or picking up the phone. I received on cryptic email from my sales rep saying he no longer checks this email and no one answers the phone. I just want my refund as it appears they have gone out of business, though their website is still up.Desired Settlement: I just want my order refunded since they never delivered on it. The amount is $1180.96.

Review: We signed up for food delivery over a month ago. They keep delaying delivery because of some problem with their facility. We got one email guaranteeing delivery by today, February [redacted], and nothing has arrived. No email to explain the lack of delivery. Nobody answers their customer service line and nobody returns phone calls or emails. I've been trying to get someone on the phone since yesterday. At this point I just want to get them on the phone to cancel my service and get a refund but I can't even do that because they won't answer and their mailboxes are all full.Desired Settlement: I want a phone call and a refund.

Review: Chef's Diet Delivery is a meal delivery company who has not delivered any meals to customers in the last 6 weeks -- despite repeated promises that deliveries would resume. They are no longer returning customer service phone calls and are not responding to emails. Meals are pre-paid so I have currently paid this company over $3,000 and have not recieved any products for the last 6 weeks.Desired Settlement: At this point I would prefer a refund over getting my meals delivered.

Review: I was given a start date of Monday February [redacted] and did not receive delivery. I was able to reach someone on the phone who said that they had some issues with the kitchen and delivery would begin on the [redacted]. I asked why I wasn't notified and he said they emailed everyone and perhaps I should check my spam folder (I did, no email). On the [redacted] I did receive delivery but it didn't have a menu or any information about the food as it normally does. I do not eat beef or pork and the lunch was pork. On the [redacted], no delivery. I spoke to someone who was very straight forward with me and let me know that they had moved their kitchen from Westchester to NJ and they underestimated the amount of work it would take to get up and running. He said he thought delivery could start on Monday March [redacted] and that he would email me if it wasn't going to start. On the [redacted], I received delivery. The menu was there but the dinner was beef. I chalked that up to the fact that they were just getting started again. March [redacted], no delivery. I have called and emailed without a response. Today, no delivery. I also called my credit card company to initiate a dispute for the charges. I have called and emailed repeatedly over the past two weeks and have yet to get a response. The sales associate responded quickly when I wanted to sign up and even called me when he realized that my credit card was no longer valid. Other than that I haven't heard from him in two weeks despite repeatedly reaching out. I asked for a refund and have not received one.Desired Settlement: Full refund.

Review: In late January, I responded to a snail-mail postcard offering from Chef's Diet for a "Tasting Menu." I was told that my 3-day program would start on[redacted], February*, 2015. That morning, no meals were delivered. Moreover, I received from Chef's Diet no phone call, no email and no text. Finally, around noon I called them. (Isn't that backwards?) I was told that, over the weekend, they switched their kitchen around and they had to postpone my start date by one week. I don't believe that, but even if it were true, Chef's Diet should have given me a heads-up.

Today is February**, 2015 and still no meal delivery, no phone call, no email, no text. I called the two phone numbers on their website this morning but no one answered. So then I called my credit card company to dispute the ~$80.25 charge. They said that their dispute process can take over one month. At this point, I do not want to do business with Chef's Diet because they are TOTALLY unreliable and they cannot even be bothered to communicate with their (repeat) customers. I just want my money back. Please help.Desired Settlement: I want Chef's Diet to refund my money via my credit card. And also tell them not to solicit my business every again.

Review: I subscribed to chefs diet for daily home delivery. I received the foods in question consistently until early January. I was sent an email indicating that they were going to use a new kitchen and delivery system to ensure consistant food delivery. I extended subscription for 62 day (at nearly 45.00 per day). I had remaining days due to frequent travel this past fall. I was told that the days would simply be added if they were notified in advance (which I always did in writing via email to [redacted]).

On February [redacted] I received another email indicating that "We are pleased to report that consistent delivery of your fresh gourmet meals will recommence tomorrow and will be sequenced according to your delivery zone. All Chefs Diet clients will be consistently serviced with the gourmet meals that you have come to expect no later than Wednesday, February **, 2015."

To date services have not recommenced. I have attempted to call a number of times (no one is available to speak with). I have left messages via phone and email to contact me to clarify that status. TO DATE NO RESPONSE from chefs diet.Desired Settlement: I would like contact from someone within chefs diet to determine status of deliveries. I would like a refund should chefs diet be unable to fulfill food deliveries as agreed upon.

Review: I ordered meal deliveries through Chefs Diet to be delivered every Tues, Wed, Thurs from Chefs diet. I paid a total of $4,656.66 for 92 days +12 days free as an incentive. ($4231.08 + ~10% in tax or $425.58)

I have not received any meals since January [redacted] and Chefs Diet owes me 38 remaining days. The company sent emails initially explaining that their failure to deliver was due to weather. Fine. I also scheduled suspension of service for 2 weeks as I was traveling. However, since my return, I have not been able to get in touch with anyone either through email or phone.

If the company subtracts 5 of the free days they offered me (the deal for payment of 62 days is 7 free days), that leaves 33 days x 45.99 per day = $1,517.67 plus tax or about $1668 of product that I'm still owed.

If ChefsDiet cannot complete the terms of their service, then I expect to be reimbursed this amount.Desired Settlement: From what I have read online, I'm not the only angry customer. It looks like this company has fallen apart and I doubt that service will resume. I want the money that is owed for the days that I did not receive service: $1668 dollars by my calculations.

Review: I signed up for daily delivery of diet food from Chef's Diet. I prepaid for January service. About 3 weeks into the service, I was told there would be an interruption of service for a few days and that they would extend my subscription. They also pre-charged my $1300 for February service. It is now almost 6 weeks since that time, and the delivery service has not resumed.

Furthermore, I have not been able to get in touch with Sales or Customer Service via Phone or Email for the last few weeks. No one answers and the voicemail boxes are all full.

I have disputed the charges to my credit card.Desired Settlement: I want to option to cancel the service for a refund if the consistency of delivery is not restored AND it becomes possible to reliably contact customer service. Both conditions must be met, or I will want to cancel service and go with a different company.

Review: On 1-**-15, I received my last delivery. I have been a happy patron for MANY years. Apparently someone new took over. They said the snow storm ruined the kitchen. They kept making excuses, and kept promising delivery with different stories. Last night, a delivery was PROMISED and nothing. No one is answering phones or emails.Desired Settlement: I have filed a dispute with [redacted]. I have asked to see a statement of billing. There is NOTHING in my account tab on their website. I am almost sadly ready to cancel. I have no way of knowing if I am owned money or what is going on. If the [redacted] would call me-maybe I would consider continuing if they are not going out of business-but this is not looking good.

I have been told numerous times that deliveries would resume, and they never did. I asked repeatedly for an accurate accounting of what monies or credits I am owed. Each time, I was told that someone would contact me with the info. It never happened. I said I wanted to cancel and get a refund on my [redacted]. It never happened. Now, NOONE is answering phone or emails. This is criminal. I am owed around $2300. I want my money back. They are actually disgusting, because they make up different stories and mislead me. Since 1-**-15, I have had one delivery! I used this company for many years and was very happy. Apparently it was sold in January and it is now a sham. I have spoken to [redacted], sales rep, repeatedly. His number is ###-###-#### and to [redacted] at customer service ###-###-####. I am angered and saddened by this situation. I want my money back!!

Review: On January ** I received an email from Chefs Diet informing me that there would be delays to my meal delivery service due to a major blizzard. I was told deliveries would start again on Wednesday January [redacted] I then received an email from Chefs Diet on January ** informing me that deliveries would resume on sunday for consumption on monday, the [redacted] of February. At that time I was informed that 2 complimentary days would be added to my account. On February * I received yet another email informing me that service would be suspended until Monday February *. On February * I received an email that meal delivery would recommence on Monday February **. I received a series of additional emails on feb **, feb **, and february ** outlining similar delays. During this time I tried to cancel my service and was in touch with [redacted] and [redacted] in customer service. [redacted] last responded on March * that he was checking with the proper department regarding my refund. I have yet to receive my refund. I am due a refund for 10 remaining days on my plan as well as the 2 week extension I had just purchased 1 day prior to all of the delays. I never received a meal from my 2 week extension and have since filed a dispute through [redacted]. I am unable to dispute my previous meal plan through [redacted] because it was purchased in 2014.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the 10 remaining days (~$350) on my meal delivery plan as well as the 2 week extension which was $609.55.

Review: This company started offering a national food delivery service late last year. I ordered a month of food for $719.76 on November **, 2013. At that time I was told that the government sequester had held up their FDA shipping approval process but that approval had been secured and my food would arrive on Dec. **, 2013. I then received an email that shipping had been delayed due to the arctic weather. That excuse was used several more times, even though I had been charged the $719.76 on December **, until I stopped receiving any replies from the company. Finally I was told that my food had shipped and I would receive it on January **-**, 2014. When it did not arrive, I emailed and was told that "this whole situation," unsure what that referred to since the weather was not an issue any longer (and never was for most companies, who were able to ship goods), had messed up their systems and could I wait until Jan. **to receive my food. I agreed and requested that if there were any further delays to let me know.

When my food did not arrive on the **, with no word from the company, I wrote and requested a refund. Received no reply. Sent email again, to several Chef's Diet email addresses, and then was told my refund would be processed on Jan. **. When that didn't happen, and several more unanswered emails later, I was told in different emails that my refund would be put through and I would receive a receipt on Jan. **, Feb. **, and then Feb. **. When I still did not have a refund or a refund receipt received by Feb. **, I emailed everyone at the company again. Received a phone call apologizing and saying by end of day I would receive a refund receipt. Nothing has arrived and no refund as of today, Feb. **.

I sent one last email early yesterday afternoon saying that if I did not receive some sort of reply that I would have to consider other action. No reply. Clearly the company started national service before they were ready but took people's money anyway. I have been put off, ignored, or given excuses since November **, and there is no excuse for a simple refund taking almost 3 weeks. They have consistently been slow to respond or unresponsive to my emails. I have all of these emails saved.Desired Settlement: I want my credit card refunded $719.76. The Visa card I used will be changed soon to a new number because it was part of the Target scam, so I have a limited amount of time left to have this process go through easily. Otherwise the card I used to pay them will have been replaced and they will have to issue me a check refund, and considering how they have handled the situation so far I am not confident of receiving a check in the mail when they can't even refund a credit card.
