This is a follow-up on a complaint against Dan Fulmer Construction. After calling the Better Contractors Bureau on 7/13/16 the Fulmer Co. finally sent a crew to complete the job. They came on 7/14/16. The crew who worked my home were efficient and courteous. That part of this agreement was great BUT...

the customer service from the Fulmer group including the owner was not so great. I will never use them again nor will I recommend them to friends or family.

The price that was originally quoted INCLUDED the cost of the ice melt.  As we always state in our conversations when it comes to ice & snow removal:  "The cost of the ice melt is $25.00 per bag of ice melt" that is used to remove the build up.  The shoveling along won't remove...

all the ice, ESPECIALLY with the extreme amount of ice & snow build up that took place in the winter months of 2014-2015.  We are sorry for the experience that the customer had on the telephone.  However, we always advise our customers of all service costs prior to doing the work for them.

Tell us why here... The original roof tear off warranty was for 6 years. This is not the issue I am complaining about. That information was extraneous and should not have been included in my complaint. The issue I am dealing with is a repair to the roof that was completed in January...

2017. I paid $360 in January to replace shingles that came off the roof in late December 2016. In March 2017 more shingles came off in the area that was repaired three months earlier. I have called this company to have them repair the repair they completed three months earlier. When I call the company I am told that someone will call me. After calling them for almost three weeks with no response. I am fed up. My roof needs to be repaired before it begins leaking.

on 8/4/15, the gutter supervisor arrived at the customer's home for the gutter replacement of the rear gutter & screening system. It was further explained to the homeowner that an ice/snow brake system is needed due to the 12/12 pitch of his roof. [redacted] THE ICE /SNOW BRAKE SYSTEM WAS NEVER MENTIONED IN PROPOSED/ACCEPTED WORK ORDER. WHEN THE QUALITY MANAGER DID SUGGEST IT RECENTLY, I TOLD HIM THAT MY 30 YR. OLD ORIGINAL GUTTERS HAD SURVIVED ALL PREVIOUS WINTERS (ATTACHED WITH MUCH HEAVER BOLT TYPE ANCHORS) FINE ESPECIALLY AT THE DAMAGED WESTERN END OF THE ROOF WHERE I AUTHORIZED THE REPLACEMENT OF ABOUT 8 SECTIONS OF PRESS BOARD AT MY EXPENSE ON THE OPPOSITE EASTERN END OF THE HOUSE DUE TO HISTORICAL WATER DAMAGE. The home owner has declined this advice. ** THE QUALITY MANAGER HAD AN EXTREMELY NEGATIVE OPINION/COMMENT TO THE ORIGINAL LOCAL WORKERS ABILITY/METHODS [redacted]
The gutter issue in question has been completed as requested. We are now finished there & there is nothing wrong with the gutters. ** THE GUTTER REPLACEMENT WAS COMPLETED HOWEVER I STILL HAVE A MULTI HUNDRED $ REPLACEMENT OF THE NOW MOLDY/MILDEWED BASEMENT CEILING TILES DUE TO POORLY SECURED GUTTER THAT DUMPED RAIN RUNOFF. I HAD NO MOLD/MILDEW PROBLEMS BEFORE IN 20+ YRS. THE TILES HAVE BEEN UP A 100+ YR. OLD ANTIQUE POCKET POOL TABLE AND 1960'S PINBALL MACHINE ARE NOT APPRECIATING THE PROBLEM [redacted]
The homeowner states that the purchase date was 7/2014. However, the contract that he signed is 4/2013. He had gone through a FULL winter in 2013/2014. The damage was done this past winter of 2014/2015 according to the homeowner. As we are sure people will remember this past winter was quite brutal on everyone.[redacted] IT SOUND AS IF POSSIBLY THEIR 40 YR. GUARANTEE TO MY $20,000+ INSTALATION IS IN QUESTION 2 GOOD YEARS ? As for the homeowner's claims that no one showed up, he explained to us that he did not want us to go onto his property without him being there. We did have 2 appointments on a Saturday scheduled. We called prior to going out there but he did not answer his phone. Messages were left for him on the answering machine/voice mail. [redacted] I NEVER SAID I DID NOT WANT THEM ON THE PROPERTY W/O SPEAKING TO ME BEFORE DOING WORK EVER. I ASKED THEM JUST TO GIVE ME A HEAD UP ( LEAVING A RECORDED MESSAGE WAS FINE) AND THEN PROCEED TO DO THE WORK. DUE TO SEASONAL WEATHER CONDITIONS, I HAD BEEN ACTUALLY TOLD THE COMPANY WAS BEHIND IN THEIR CONTRACTED WORK SO THIS REPLY HAS A HOLLOW RING [redacted]
This complaint as far as we are concerned is now rectified. [redacted] IF STIFFING A CUSTOMER WITH MULTI HUNDRED $ WATER DAMAGE AND REPAIR COSTS IS THE COMPANY'S QUALITY POLICY THEN I UNDERSTAND WHY AS THEY STATE "as far as we are concerned is now rectified" [redacted]

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The chimney B vent was professionally installed in 1997. I had no leaks last year with the old roof. When they installed the new roof the chimney was taken down (I saw it on the ground) so if it was reinstalled upside down they put it in and do not want to take responsibility for it. [redacted] told me he did not know anything about chimneys.Also, [redacted], his supervisor said they would be back to check the leak in the rear of the house and to replace the gutter they damaged. No one has called me or come to my house to resolve these issues as of today, March 25, 2015. The company response did not address these two last problems. I feel they are ignoring me, do not want to resolve these issues as they have been paid in full.
