They used to be good, but now they were bought out by the company that owns Cigars International. Worst customer service in the world; I was on the phone to customer service and could not get through for THREE hours!!!! Several emails have gone unanswered. They didn't honor a 10% off coupon from my last order. Stay away from them.

My father is elderly and I try and check his credit card statements as much as I can. I have seen for the last few months a $14.95 charge and finally asked him what it was for? He had no idea. I called the toll free number and figured out it was a cigar place. He loves cigars and said he had tried to order Gold Strikes from Thompson Cigar Company last summer and they we back ordered and then just were discontinued, I fear he has been charged this absurd membership fee know for almost a year😡. This infuriates me and I see it says they get a membership packet and email which I never saw. I need his membership cancelled and his money refunded. I am sure this was included in some fine print but shame on you all for making this something that appears from other reviews as an add on with no warning or opt out. My father has NEVER received any cigars from your company and is enrolled in a value program that ONLY benefits your company!!

Completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior by your company. On hold for over an hour. Signed up for subscriptions without my knowledge. Charging my card after I've requested my order be cancelled three days prior. None of my emails returned. Very furious with the way your company has treated me, and now my finances are ruined for three business days. I will not be patronizing your business again.

I ordered a box of cigars from Thompson Cigar on late May 29th. I was told by their representative that I would receive my shipment within a week and that I would receive an email so I could trap the package. Two days late I decided to check the whereabouts of my cigar shipment. Checked my email and to my surprise no email from Thompson so I decided to call them. WHAT IS A MISTAKE! Five (5) calls later and probably an hour and some minutes wasted of my time, I was unable to talk to anyone. What a disappointment! One of those five calls was to the order desk so if I wanted to place another order I couldn't have. Wake up Thompson! Where's my cigars?

I just received a Thompson Cigar catalog in the mail and decided to place an order to 5/30/19. They advertised FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING and 15% off & FREE SHIPPING for email sign up. I signed up, placed an order until I saw they were charging me $7.99 for shipping! I tried 5 times calling their so-called customer service (4 different numbers) for 3 hours and got NO ONE! I refuse to pay $7.99 for shipping when they said it would be free. Therefore I did not place the order until this shipping charge is deducted!
False advertising, in addition to not picking up the phone to answer customer inquiries is disgusting! I can't see how they have a good rating with the Revdex.com of Tampa! They must be paying someone off!

You should know that someone did call on 5/31/19. However, they did not give their name, nor did they leave a phone number or extension for me to return the call. Even if a telephone number was left, I would never get through to speak to anyone based on my previous experience of calling 5-6 times for over 3 hours with nothing but a recording playing.

If they are truly trying to "improve their customer service experience", they can start by telling the truth!

Horrible service and unreasonable hold times and never answers e-mail.

Terrible customer service, do not join the "Club"! You have to call to cancel. Everytime I call and select customer service, I get put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. If you select "place an order" someone will answer within 30 seconds. Soon as you ask to cancel, you get transferred to the never ending hold line! Total scam!!

I have been dealing with Thompson Cigar for several years. Only had one bad experience that was quickly rectified. But this last order was a HORROR story!

Received my $550+ order on Saturday. To my surprise I opened the box (which was very light) and found it was stuffed with about 100+ USPS Priority Mail envelopes. I called Customer Service in Manila, Philippians and stood on the phone over an hour trying to file a complaint and get resolution. The package was sent from Returns Dept. 5550 Airport Blvd, Suite B Tampa, FL XXXXX So...after an hour on the phone...I just got my confirmation for the new order, to be shipped to me by FRIDAY (as I am leaving town & stated this is why I originally placed my order with enough time) and I am being charged $11.00+ Shipping. Someone in your shipping dept is a thief! I can't believe the call rep initially did not understand my plight or concern and asked me "what I would like to order". I am normally a nice person...but not yesterday.... I was at my wits end. I have lost FAITH, TRUST and PROBABLY furture business with Thompson Cigars. I am all for recommending great businesses....but not after this experience. Now that TC is charging Sales Tax to California, there are other places I can order from that are only pennies more but with excellent Customer Service. Please let me hear from you regarding this matter. The rep took it rather lightly.

Horrible Company! We placed an order and received a call and completed what we thought was a survey and next thing we know we have been enrolled in a monthly program that was not agreed to and told that we could then not cancel for 48 hours?!?! Extremely shady, stay away! Have tried call customer service, two of the number we could locate said no longer in service and have now tried 4 different numbers each on hold for over 30 minutes and still have not been able to reach anyone. You can actually get someone on the chat, however they cannot cancel you. One of the worst companies I have ever done business with. You have been warned!

TOTAL SCAM... I WOULD LEAVE 0 STARS IF IT LEFT ME...

This company acts like the membership to their Total Value Plus program is completely transparent but its really hidden in small print on the order screen and in an email... I saw the email but thought it was a savings email / newsletter like many companies. Until I saw a charge to my bank account and started research did I find the small print at the bottom of an email about a monthly charge of $14.95... Trust me if I was aware it would have been canceled immediately... DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!

The customer service is horrible. You can never get a representative and all of the listed numbers are out of service. The one listed here is out of service. I would recommend avoiding this company

Scam... 14.95 per month for something I did not knowingly sign up for 4 months at 14.95 is 59.80 that I would like back!

I ordered some *** cigars on 8 APR and was sent *** cigars which I received on 12 APR. I called to have the right ones sent out to me and was told to send those back and when they receive them that they would send out the correct order in which I would receive in 3-5 days. I initially agreed. After I thought about the turnaround time, I called back to cancel my order. I was told they would send out a return label. I called back at least two times because I never received it. Once I got it, I sent them back on 13 APR. They received on 17 APR. It's been three weeks and I still haven't been issued a refund. Everytime that I called to check the status I was given different excuses and they tell me that it's gonna be 3-5 days.

Company is a scam do not sign up for there club membership (that I clearly stated on the phonecall I didn't want). There is no way to opt out of the membership or change your order status. They keep billing me what I first ordered and now I have to dispute this with my bank. I still not have received and reimbursement and I am out of options. Guess $400 worth of business wasn't good enough... pathetic

Horrible customer service and terrible shipping practices.

Terrible company. Returned an item been a week since UPS sent me notification that they delivered the item to them. Still haven't received my money back. I called them asked where my money is and they told me I'll get it when I get it. You'll be better off spending a little extra at your local b&m or smokingpipes.com.

I’ve been giving them business now for a few months with over $100 orders each time. They arrive early, merchandise is in great condition and they have great deals. Very satisfied

yes total value got me to did not ask for it and they billed me for it. I call and Thompson said they couldn't help me then transferred me me to this total value place the man that worked for them said they would give me my money back, just waiting to see probably am not buying any thing else from Thompson very disappointed with Thompson now so we shall see if they give me my money back

Done business over 15 years with Thompson, recently had the opportunity to deal with there customer service . The worst experience in my life !

I like the cigars at Thompson and the price. However, they got involved with a scam called Total Value Plus. I never clicked the icon to be enrolled, and yet they charged me 14.95 to be enrolled. I saw this on a credit card. I called, I spent an hour on the phone and they promised to remove me from this "service." The promised a letter (I never received the letter). Then today, Thompson Total Value once again charged my credit card. Another hour on the phone and another promise of a letter. THIS IS A SCAM. While I would like to buy, once again, cigars from Thompson, I will not until Thompson gets rid of this scam. If you are thinking about buying cigars online, choose another company.
