City World Ford Reviews (25)

Review: On April *, 2014 I responded to an internet advertisement, and went to the dealership. I was told by two employees that the vehicle was in stock. On April *, 2014 I left a deposit of $7,500 since based on the information I was given delivery of the vehicle was imminent. I spent at least 7 hours over two days waiting at the dealership while the staff searched 3 lots looking for the promised vehicle. On 4/** I delivered a letter to the dealership requesting a refund of my deposit. To date I have received several high-pressure calls from the dealership staff. At this point from April *, 2014 to May **, 2014 I only want the refund of my deposit mailed to my home address.Desired Settlement: I just want a refund of my $7,500 deposit. I do not want to have any business dealings with this dealership at all.

Response:

Thank you for your help. I received a refund of my deposit from City World Ford, [redacted] in the amount of $7,500.

Review: On 6/**/13, I visited said location to discuss an auto repair problem. The Assistant Manager,a woman named [redacted], summoned one of the repair mechanics to discuss the resolution with me. This mechanic informed me what the problem was, what auto part would be required to be replaced, and what the cost would be ($300). I told him that this price was extremely high, and asked if I can purchase the part myself, which he stated I could. I immediately went to their Parts Dept and was told they didn't have the item in stock, and would have to order it. I was told only that it would be available the next day. On that next day, I picked up the part, and took it to my regular mechanic. My mechanic told me that I was misinformed, and the part was not required. He then fixed the actual problem. I then went back to City World to return the part, which was still in its sealed package, only to be told they will not accept the return as it was a "Special Order" and an unreturnable part. Under no circumstance was I informed at any point that there was such a policy. I asked for the Parts Dept manager and he rejected any attempt to reason, stating only that my vehicle was not diagnosed by City World. I beleive they are not accepting the return due to my unwillingness to allow them to do the work at their exorbitant price. The Manager, [redacted], was extremely rude, and rejected any request for reason also.Desired Settlement: First, their return policy is not explainied correctly. A customer is not advised what is a "Special Order", so it may be assumed that any product or part not in stock is a "Special Order" (not fair). In additon, they claim that any "returnable or refundable part that is paid in cash, will be paid by check, two weeks after the item is returned. Also, there will be a 20% restocking fee assessed to the refund". I don't beleive that is a fair policy! I want my money back in full. They were the ones who told me to buy the wrong part!

Response:

To whom it may concern,

The company policies are stated on the invoice which every customer signs and is encouraged to read. There are numerous postings that explain there is no return for a special ordered or electrical part.

The part in this case being in both criteria.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

When I spoke to [redacted] on Memorial Day weekend he did not state those nice things to me that [redacted] stated in his reply. I have never dealt with [redacted]! I went into the dealership on June * and June ** of 2015. Things did not go according to plan and I still left out unsatisfied . When I got there I was expecting to speak to [redacted] however [redacted] put me over to [redacted] another [redacted]. I sat in the dealership on June [redacted] and nothing got resolved I left with the understanding of still having to get the car repoed'. After speaking to [redacted] with [redacted] on the line as well I was told that the dealership could void out the contract but the dealership refuse to do so, even though they sold me a car with no warranty after being told I did have one and the car has structural damage that I did not know was detrimental towards driving, and could not pass inspection. When I first spoke to [redacted] initially he told me that the car was my problem and hung up the telephone very rude, now weeks later they want to fix the car, but the car was sold overpriced and should not have been sold at all according to other dealerships who did not want to take the car and according to [redacted] who stated they usually don't finance cars with structural damage. Review: This dealership used my inexperience as a first time buyer to sell me a car for a price I cannot afford. Now I am stuck with a car loan far beyond by budget. They told me they would sell me a 2013 Nissan Altima for internet asking price of $17,000. At the end of the day, the car was $21,900 before the $3,000 down payment. The finance representative even refused to give me a copy of all the documents I sign. I want more than anything for justice to be served. I feel cheated and abused. Please help to fix this issue before anyone else purchases a car from this dealer.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealership to adjust the contract of this car for $17,000 after the state taxes and without any added dealership fees. Any help is better than none. I appreciate whoever this complaint is handled by.

Customer [redacted]

To Whom it may concern,

The customer [redacted] came to the dealer City World Ford. Lookingfor a vehicle around $17,000. Out the door. We showed her many cars in her price t.ange and she declined the cars that flt in her budget. [redacted] wanted a 2013 NissanAltima that wasn't in her budget, it seemed that was the only car she wanted. We expined to her it will exceed her budget of $17,000. and she didn't mind since that's the car she wanted. We explained to her finance option and she purchased a extended warranty with her Nissan Altima. [redacted] and her friend sat in the finance office reading for 90 minutes front and back of every document before signing, We educated her that anytime y'ou purchase a car you must add Taxes, Plates and registration. After she understood we offered a extended warranty for her car and wanted the 3 year warranty.

She wanted to put $3000 down but didn't have the money at the moment as a courtesy we gave her 2 weeks to bring in the deposit,

which took her over 3 weeks to pay.

[redacted] understood everything and understood she is going over her budget. She is welcome to trade the car to us as a courtesy to her for a less expensive car, to resolve the issue. We want all our customers happy.. [redacted] can trade her car at no loss to her, for a car less expensive than the one she picked.

Thank you

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The information in City World Ford Lincoln Mercury's response is incorrect. I was looking for a vehicle within my price range of $17,000. I initially inquired about the car I currently own on 9/**/13 in which time they told me they could only offer to sell the car for 20,000 before tax and fees. I declined their offer and left. On 9/**/13, a City World Ford Mercury representative by the name of [redacted] called and said they can offer me the internet asking price of $17,000. I accepted that offer and later that evening I went into the dealership to fill out the paper work. My paper work was handled by [redacted] in their finance department. He told me he would offer me a used car warranty with a term of 36 months/36,000 miles as a bonus. This warranty costs $2000. I agreed to the warranty because he said the car was considered used (even though it only had 2,300 miles on it) since it had been registered by two different persons which was incorrect information. I also agreed upon leaving a $3,000 down payment and was willing to return at a later date when I had the money. [redacted] insisted I sign a promissory note agreeing to bring the down payment back on 9/**/13 so I would be able to leave with the vehicle on 9/**/13. In [redacted]'s response, he said it took me over three weeks to pay which is incorrect. I have attached a copy of the promissory note and the bank check they received and accepted on 9/**/13.

City World Ford Mercury took advantage of me being a first time car buyer. Not only did they mislead me about the price of the car, but they also lead me to believe the car was considered used when according to the Nissan dealership in New Rochelle and Warranty Solutions, the warranty company City World Ford Mercury is affiliated with, a car is only considered used after 30,000 miles. I have gone ahead and cancelled the warranty they sold me. They also made false accusations about me in their response to this matter. In addition, the car they sold me was damaged on their property and not fixed before selling me the car. They sold me the car with a damaged muffler and I am still having issues with it.I have attached service reports from City World Ford service and Nissan of New Rochelle service stations. This work on the car was done only days after purchasing on 10/*/13 and again on 10/**/13 and 10/**/13. The car is still not fully fixed.

I would like them to fully compensate me for the initial amount verbally agreed upon of $17,000 after tax and fees, and for the inconvenience and hardship I have endured in this matter. Thank you.

Sincerely,
