City World Toyota Scion Reviews (32)

Revdex.com:At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding City World Toyota Scion has been resolved.
(By clicking "OK", your complaint will be closed as Resolved.)
Sincerely,[redacted]

To Whom this May Concern, Upon receipt of this complaint I have conducted an internal inquiry regarding [redacted] deal and here are my findings:[redacted] came into trade in his 2008 Mercedes GL-550 which was in very poor condition and had multiple mechanical issues to include a...

problem with the adjustable air suspension which is a very costly repair and he owed $27,439.39 on this vehicle which we had appraised for $15,000.00 so he had $12,439.39 deficit that needed to be buried into the new vehicle. So to assist [redacted] we had to sell him the new vehicle which has an MSRP of $61,084.00 for $56,540.95 which is a $4,543.05 discount as well absorbing the first payment and the DMV fees which come to a total discount of $5,810.59 (which we did willingly). What [redacted] failed to tell the Revdex.com is that at the time of purchase he also had with him someone else ( [redacted]) who signed for the vehicle purchase with him, who had agreed to assist in paying for the vehicle since they would both going to be using it. [redacted] upon consulting with this person agreed to all stated terms. [redacted] did come back a few months later seeing if there was any way the payment could be lowered, after some discussion he explained to his sales rep. that the payment was indeed difficult to make since he and [redacted] were no longer in a relationship and she was no longer assisting with the payment. We did make an attempt to lower his payment but unfortunately [redacted] had the better credit between them, and with her unwillingness to go back on the a new loan it made lowering [redacted] payment impossible without additional money down.Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions regarding this case.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: City World Toyota never intended to resolve my situation City world toyota is now fabricating imformation about my personal life? At no time did I mention to anyone that I was no longer involved with [redacted]. Secondly there was no reason to mention her because this complaint is solely on My experience with City world Toyota. Another thing I want to mention is that the only function that wasnt working correctly on my Mercedes truck was the radio. The air suspension was replaced for strutmasters which ive already explained to City World. My credit was not bad nor was it better or worse than [redacted]'s credit. City World told us that we will be in tier 1 plus credit with them. Nothing was ever mentioned to us about additional money down, if we wasn't comfortable with this situation. City World explained that if we didn't like the truck that they would accommodate us with what we want because City World gave Us Tier 1 Plus credit. the claim that my Truck was in poor condition is a sorry excuse for a lie that ignorant salesmen use when they stand behind ripping off consumers. City World Toyota used [redacted] as bait to convince me to agree on the deal. City World Toyota Practiced Predatory Lending and never intended to help us. This car note is more than half my income and I mentioned this to City World 3 months after the lease was finalized. I mentioned that [redacted] was no longer in position to help with the payment. ask someone to please investigate them and their sales techniques. City World Toyota preys on people in the Bronx and needs to be exposed    In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.Sincerely,[redacted]

To Whom this May Concern,      We have been in contact with [redacted], and he came into the dealership and we inspected his vehicle. We determined that the the damage/ an or scratches came from extra adhesive from the original factory packaging. We have an appointment set up for the...

customer to come in and have the vehicle professionally buffed and or repaired if needed and we told him that we will provide him with a rental vehicle so that he will not be without a vehicle.     Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.     Rick D. Review: March [redacted] 2015 went to Toyota dealership to view a car. Spoke with a representative [redacted] in reference for a car that I was interested in. He advise that I would need to place a down payment on a car in order to hold the car. Spoke with his [redacted] and advised that I can only make a small down payment of $100 but I would come back to make the remaining on the car plus to speak with my family about the car. [redacted] advise that even if I was not interested in the car that I would still get my money back. After speaking with my family I realized that we can not afford the car. I called [redacted] and stated that I was not longer interested in the car and that I would like my money back. He stated that I would receive my money with in a week. Called back May [redacted] spoke with a rep again stated that he would forward the info to his [redacted] about the refund. After so many attempts, I decided to contact the Revdex.com to resolve my issues before filing with small claims court.Desired Settlement: Just want my money back that I place for a down payment which is for $100

Response:

We have issued the customer her refund today and informed her of same.

Review: I made a transfer to City World Toyota on Sept. **, for $5,000, confirmation number [redacted], from [redacted] checking account ending in [redacted]. The transfer was intended to be a deposit so that sales agent Michael S[redacted] could locate two vehicles for me. He was unable to find them so on Oct. *, I requested a refund of the deposit, which was supposed to take seven days. It's been well over a month, and I have not received the refund. I asked Mr. S[redacted] and he directed me to Robert T[redacted], who said that they hadon't not processed the refund because they "didn't have the account number." He kept telling me that it was going to be processed the next day. I was out of the country and could not go in person. When I came back, Oct. 25, I went in person but was unable to speak to Robert T[redacted], but I spoke with Fabian Madera, who said that he would call me back to confirm the refund but he never did. On Nov. 5, I emailed Mr. T[redacted] the confirmation for the wire transfer as he requested, bUT still no refund. A few days after that, I spoke with General Manager, Rick R**, who told me that the deposit had not been issued because they needed a letter from [redacted] stating that the transfer for the $5,000 had been made from the account that the refund was going to, even though I had already sent a confirmation with the account information. The bank said that they could not issue such a letter but that the confirmation email should suffice. Since I had already sent Mr. R** the confirmation email from [redacted], on Nov. **, I sent him the bank statement showing the transfer for the $5,000. I also went in person to speak with him on that same day. He assured that the refund was going to be processed on that same day and gave me a receipt for the refund.

As of yesterday, my bank said that this refund is not even being processed.Desired Settlement: I demand that the $5,000 be refunded immediately.

Response:

We do not have a record of this customer in our data base. I believe that the deposit was left under another name. That refund was issued by wire on 11/**/15. We received the deposit by wire and our policy is to refund on a wire. We needed to confirm the account # and routing # before we were able to issue the refund. This has now been issued.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The refund was indeed issued, although a fee was deducted from the total. However, it took this company almost two months to do this. During this time I was in constant communication with them and provided all the information that they requested. It is unfortunate that the company claims not to have any records of me and did not apologize. Thanks to Revdex.com, without your intervention I might still be fighting this company for a refund.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

We issued a wire refund for the exact amount of money the customer placed on deposit. For various procedural reasons, we cannot issue refunds by wire without the proper information which we did once it was provided to our accounting office. I apologize for any inconvenience the customer may have experienced. Also, we never had a deposit under this customer's name; the wire was received and receipted under a different name.

Review: A day before Valentine day 2-**-2016.....I wanted to buy a car. I went in the city world. 11:30amI pick the car. Sale person told me about the car. We talked about the ad- coop newspaper then test drive.. The Rava 4. It runs Great! Now business. I told them I want a good deal. I don't want to start a payment.. I can't continue. Ok. The mgr was called. The 1st deal was ... .00 down 299. A month. I said give me a min. I wanted to talk to my boy friend about. It. The sale person came back. I said No.. Deal thank. But wait.. My mgr number 2 want to see what else he can do to put you in that car. New deal was....00.00 down 269. A month. I said no. We will think about. We left. I called about 30 to 40 mins later About the last deal. I was ask to come back. So I did. Mgr2 came to meet us. The final deal was .000 down. 308. I can't do the 269. Because it ..??? Said mgr2...it will not allow me. I did not know what it meant. He went back and forward from the us to the other desk.

We said ok. 308. And 350 is the DMV bill. Ok.. 308 is for the first months payment... That will be 650. Today. I agree. I completed the forms gave my I.D. And card to take 650 off it today. I started to call several insurance company for a good deal. They help me a little by giving me primer.? insurance for 500. I told the sale person that to high for me. I called geico myself. Great deal. 265. Today and 245. Going forward,. No problem. Paid it on the phone. Give geico the fax and email to mail the information to city world. The salesperson wasn't at the desk to assist me much. My boyfriend left it was now 130pm to catch the kids game. I finished and waited. I was asked it I have my last pay check and bank statement. I said no. I don't carry those papers in my bag. Now it's 3pm. Still waiting. I asked what's going on what's next. Salesperson said we are wait for the financial person to talk to. Ok. I went in. I can't approve you this car deal. Your credit score is too low. I asked why to took the money of my card first. I never told you my score was high. Why would u have me pay for a car, I can't get today. Why you have me wait so long. The finance person because we was waiting for your husband. I never told you or anyone the man was my husband or to wait for him. This is for me not him. I could not believe what they was said. The mgr2 came in check this and that on the computer. Ok. Can you get the papers we need. We can work out something for you. I said . I don't have a ride to get home. Salesperson was told to drive me home so, I can get those papers. Came back gave salesperson bank and pay stubs to makes copies. Salesperson gave me some of my papers back. I try to ask for my originals papers. But the Salesperson was so busy talking about me and why I was upset.. Mgr2 came to asking me for my pay stub as he hold the other copies in his hand. I said what are you talking about. Why would I go home and not have all the papers needed. I went in my bag and gave him all the papers salesperson gave me back. Salesperson said I never gave him the pay stub. Why would I do that... Why?.. I could not believe. This man... Mgr2 made the copies need for my application. Now it 530pm. I waited. My boy friend came back. I was called into the office. At this time I was very mad.. Tired and hungry. We went into other financial office. Before me sat down he give us business cards. He began to tell me " [redacted]". I said, after you took my money. I can't get the money back today. I can't get a car. He said you can it if someone consigned for you. I don't want anyone to cosign for me. No one said nothing about how is your credit. I don't need to lie about my credit because I will come back too me. Now after waiting for hours.. You check it ...Now I can't get my money back now... Or the car. There Plan was to make my boyfriend cosign. A plan we never talked about. I left the dealership with no car.. No money(650) and a Saturday spend with people who lying about giving me a good deal. Bottom Line they took my money first then check my credit.why..... Who does that. That back don't do that. What crazy deal are they running..... As of today. 2/**/16. The money was not put back on my card. Now I can't do nothing. But wait. They stuck me.Desired Settlement: First and foremost. I want my money back ASAP!! I want the deal that was on the table. It give before for they checked my credit.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

I received my money a week later- 2/**/16. After several called however, I don't want this to happen to any one else. It's not fair.

Review: On 11/**/2015 I purchased a 2015 Toyota Camry XLE from the dealership listed. After going back in fourth for a long time they finally found a car they were willing to negotiate. However, maybe it was because of the of the show room lighting but all appeared normal. After the sales person Ivan started installing the plates I inspected the car in and noticed that the car a lot of light scratches through out the car. After expressing my concerns Ivan insisted that they were not scratches and that it was the hot wax glue and to come back and schedule a appointment so they can fix it. But they kept pushing the matter. After attempting to reach the general manager they gave me the run around and told me to bring the car in. While talking to sales manager Ramiero I showed him all the scratches and he had the nerve to say where do I park my car. Then I told him that it was not fair. In the contract it clearly states new car in yes I have a new engine but not new car. Look at the car for crying out loud. On top of it the engine has a strong vibration or shake and after explaining that to him to he had the nerve to say all new cars do that. That all he can do is give me a car wax. I told him that was unacceptable because it the contract it clearly says new car not used car body. I am hoping the matter can get resolved if not I will seek legal advice. I am not asking for my money back just a new car. Like statedDesired Settlement: all I want is in a exchange like I told them before I drove off. But they lied and insisted that the scratches are hot wax glue.

Review: On July [redacted] 2014 my Toyota Tundra 2005 which I had originally purchased from City Toyota began spewing smoke from underneath the hood. Since I live close by, I took it to City Toyota at [redacted]. I left the car and was called on July [redacted], and was told by the [redacted] that the starter was the problem. I was skeptical about that diagnostic, because the starter was never engaged when the car started smoking and the car always started with no problem. The [redacted] confirmed the mechanics diagnostic that the problem was the starter. I finally relented and and agreed to have them change the starter after all they were the experts. I gave City World Toyota a deposit of $460.00 . on that day. I went to retrieved my vehicle on July [redacted] still skeptical about the problem being the starter. I was charged a total of $861.85 for the repair. I pulled out my truck and about a mile later , my car began overheating again and then stalled. I had no alternative but to have the truck towed. to another repair shop. I personally went to City Toyota but I was told by the [redacted] that if I brought back the truck , I would be charged for the entire cost of whatever the repair problem might be that had nothing to do with the starter. I was completely taken aback by their poor customer service. At the other repair shop the diagnostic indicated that the truck was overheating due to an engine problem. Clearly City World Toyota never took care of the original repair problem I took the vehicle to them to resolve.Desired Settlement: I would like City World Toyota to refund me the $861.85 that I spent on the repair they obviously misdiagnosed. I never went to them with a starter problem. My reason for taking the vehicle to them

was that the vehicle was overheating . I would like City World Toyota to reimburse me for the towing fee I had to incur due to their poor repair diagnostics .

Sincerely,

Review: Their ad is deceiving for the following reasons. One is that they advertise a pricing for Camri which is ridiculously low. When I met a salesman, he said the price advertised in the newspaper is the cash price. If it is financed, the pricing would be one thousand dollars more expensive. However the ad does not say the lower pricing is the cash price and does not specify the pricing with financing. Two is that the ad says the dealer would reimberse for the toll fee, if customers come from Queens. Inspite of the multiple requests for the reimbursement by calling and writing the salesman and manager, they have not paid me. It has been verified that they have my receipt.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for the toll fee and compensation for my time and stress and no more deceiving ads.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a used Scion September [redacted], 2012 from City World Toyota, under the impression it would be a Certified Pre-Owned. At the last minute as I was signing the paperwork finalizing the transaction, I was told by a City World rep they were unable to certify the vehicle, but that they would give me an extended warranty, leaving me with no choice since I had already signed. Since then I have had to replace all 4 tires, all roters and breaks/pads. Then on Wednesday, June [redacted] 2013, while on my way to work, my engine blew out on the highway. I had to be towed There are numerous repairs needed. I called the extended warranty center and was told I am appx 1000 miles past the warranty and I was responsible for the repairs. I called Toyota Corporate office and they stated they could not do anything about it. I have called City World Toyota several times and am only able to get Receptionist's. No one will returne my calls. I have maintained the vehicle. The repairs are going to cost me 4,000.00. I have only had the car for 9 months and am finacing it.Desired Settlement: Toyota to pay for my repairs on the Lemon they sold me.

Business

Response:

In regards to [redacted] purchase She did not purchase the vehicle for $19,000 as she stated in her complaint she actually purchased the vehicle for $12,011.48 plus tax and DMV. She is multiplying her payment by the full term of her loan. That figure will include tax and interest which we as a dealership have no claim to, since the tax goes to the state and the interest is derived from her credit at time of purchase.

Regarding [redacted]'s claim that the vehicle is certified. We initially explained to her that the vehicle could be certified, However that would require additional costs which unfortunately we could not incur due to the fact that the bank was limiting us on the amount that [redacted] could be lent, based on the health of her credit at the time. So the vehicle could not be certified.

Also please keep in mind that [redacted] purchased this vehicle in September of 2012 and drove the vehicle for 9 months without incident. At time of purchase she did have a 90 day limited warranty that we as a New York State dealer must provide.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions.
