We have reached out to the consumer regarding his complaint in a phone call placed 6/*/14. We acknowledged his dissatisfaction and apologized for the operational error of not informing him of the need for a computer, however we also explained that our policy...

([redacted]) does not permit for a refund in this case because he did in fact take the course. In an effort to reach an agreement with the customer, we offered an additional class at no charge, but as the customer did in fact pass the exam for which he took the course, he did not need and was not willing to accept this compromise. Other students in this class also passed the exam and so it is incorrect to claim that the training was inadequate. Lastly, nowhere in our communications materials do we claim to be affiliated with BPI - we train for BPI as a third party training provider. The customer explained that when he searched for BPI and found us, he assumed we were affiliated but this is a misunderstanding, not deception. He is now aware that we never claimed to be an affiliate of BPI, and that he is not entitled to a refund per our course policy.

We ask that this resolution be approved once the check has been received.

Review: I am a NYS Elligible PV Installer and experienced PV Instructor and was contract by Clean Edison to teach two week long intensive PV classes in Atlnata, GA and Garden City LI, which I did in February and March. They Contracted to pay me $50 and hour and expenses with a net 60 delayed payment provision. However, it is well past the 60 days time period from the completion of both classes and they have only paid me $500 and still owe me $4322.65 and have provided no explanation for non-payment. Although the students all paid Clean Edison for the classes taught, Clean Edison has just pocketed the money and refused to pay me the Instructor.Desired Settlement: The desired settlement is that they immediately pay me (ie., my company, Analemma Solar Corp.) the $4322.65 amount owed and that going forward they pay their instructors as per contractual agreement.

Business

Response:

We have paid the instructor and consider this case closed and the complaint resolved. Apologies for the delay; we value [redacted]'s work and look forward to working with him in the future.

Sincerely,

Review: Clean Edison failed to provide me with proper or sufficient training for me to pass my written and field exams. They did not provide adequate enough material for the instructor to teach the class. The instructor had to use material from his company to prepare us for the exam. When we took the written exam , Clean Edison did not provide us with computers. Before signing up for the class, Clean Edison never told me that they will have problems providing computers. I had to utilize a laptop that my classmate let me borrow. But the biggest reason I want to make a complaint towards CleanEdison is that they are not even affiliated with the Building Performance Institute. Clean Edison is not authorized to use BPI likeness/ logo on any of their material. So pretty much I got scammed into thinking Clean Edison is a qualified test center to provide me with adequate training to pass my BPI exams. And they arent. This is why I want a complete refund for the deception that Clean Edison did to me. ThanksDesired Settlement: A complete refund of the money I gave to Clean Edison.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

The guy failed to explain that that the exam consists of a written and field exam. The majority of the people failed the field exam. So how can he say that most of them passed?

The deception was that they never told us that they weren't afflicted with BPI. Because if they did most of the students would have walked out of the class. They are not an accredited trainer center per the BPI website. So they using that companies likeness is grounds for being sued.

The written exam I failed the first time in Clean Ediaons class but I passed it in another trainer center that's accredited by BPI. I passed it because I used material that wasn't from Clean Edison. I as a customer have the right for a refund if I feel I wasn't properly taught. Not only that they did not provide computers. How can I pass the test if they couldn't provide me with a computer?

Like I said before, [redacted] from Clean Edison failed to acknowledge that the only way I did pass the written part of the exam was when I used training material that wasn't from clean edison. My goal is tI get a complete refund. I feel they are a fraudulent company.

Sincerely,

Review: We signed up for a AC/HP class in NJ for April [redacted], 2014. Cleanedison cancelled the course and told us they rescheduled us for October in California. I explained that we could not attend the class in California, and that we could not wait until October to take the class/test.

I had to schedule the class with another company because we could not wait until October. I contacted Cleanedison SEVEN, yes 7 times and spoke to customer service. Each time I was told "I see no reason why you should not get a credit on your credit card but I will have someone contact you". NO ONE ever has called me. I have called, expressed my being upset that no one calls me back, that I want a credit to my credit card, and I get told, I will have someone contact you. Two plus weeks later, no contact.

I have sent emails, left messages and made calls. I have explained that this charge is on my personal credit card and that I have had to pay the bill. They say "we are sorry, someone will get back to you" no one does.Desired Settlement: All I want is the charge credited to my american express card. It is not my desire to get BPI involved but not only are they not crediting my account, not calling me and basically ignoring me, they are also advertising that they are a "BPI affiliate" which I have verified is incorrect and they are using the BPI logo inproperly.

Review: I proctored exams for Clean Edison on 04[redacted]/2013 and sent the invoice to the email provided to me. After several times contacting Clean Edison I was told the check would be sent out immediately. On 06/**/2013 I was told the check went out, but did not receive anything. Today, after contacting the company again I was told the following via email by [redacted] the [redacted]: [redacted], I'm not sure we'll be able to get you a payment in the near future. We're in the middle of a transition period at the moment. We are still 100% committed to get this to you but we don't know when that will be at this time. My apologies for not having a better answer at this time. Regards, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want to get paid. I have already paid for the tests and invested my time. Review: I conducted a training class for cleanedison the week of February [redacted], 2013 in Newark, NJ. Contract terms were a flat payment of $2500 plus per deim, travel & lodging to be paid within 45 days. They bought my airline ticket (I live in North Carolina) and eventually paid my hotel (it was supposed to be pre-paid) but have not made payment for instruction or per diem. I have sent numerous emails and made multiple phone calls with no resolution. They either ignore communication or say they are waiting to receive payments before they can pay me.Desired Settlement: I would like to be paid.

Business

Response:

This Instructor was issued a check in the amount he was owed in July of 2013. The complaint should be resolved and CleanEdison considers this case closed.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This is NOT CORRECT:

A check was sent to me but had a cancel payment on it and the bank would not cash it. It is easy for them to see the funds were never dispersed. They told me at the time they would re-issue a check, but they never did. Repeated calls and emails got no results.

Thank you so much for following up on this.

Review: We signed up for a training class in May, 2013 that was scheduled for June *, 2013 at the Dallas Housing Authority but the class was cancelled in May before it was held. We were told that another class would take its place shortly, but after two months, no replacement class was offered. So, we requested a refund on July **, 2013. We did receive an email stating that a claim had been processed and it even provided case numbers, but by October *, 2013, we have still NOT received the refund as promised.Desired Settlement: a refund of our entire fee of $790.00

Review: On Dec **, 2013 [redacted] signed up for a class that was scheduled to take place in Tampa FL January **, 2014. Cost of classes $2595.00. January classes were cancelled and rescheduled for March **, 2014. March classes are cancelled and there is no new date scheduled. In our business getting a principal like [redacted] out of the office for multiple days is not an easy task. We have been in touch and have left several messages only to be told they do not refund. A consession refund of $700 (testing fee) was offered. Our communication has been with [redacted] who is part of the Customer Service Team. He did tell me the [redacted] will be in tomorrow, but there was a dull silence when I asked if he would take my call.

We had to make and then cancel hotel reservations for these classes. We would not have know about the March classes being cancelled if we did not place a call to confirm if they were still scheduled.

We are unable to dispute this through American Express because the charge exceeds 60 days.Desired Settlement: A full credit of $2595. I don't care if it is cash, check or credit to our American Express.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up to take the energy auditing course online when promised that I could go through the online modules and easily learn the material and then set up a one day in service training on ground followed by the certification test. Of course I was told this could all be done in my home city of San Diego with no problems. Sounded great so I signed up, paid $2500, and was sent my modules. I was then told to login to make sure I had access which I did only to realize their LMS looked like a third grader put it together. Was very unprofessional and clunky. I did download the course "book" and found the information to not be up to my standard. Still I thought I might give it a chance and being online it could be done in my own time. I knew I coudl not get to it for another month so I was not too worried but when I went to schedule my on ground class I was told they didn't do that in San Diego. WHAT?? This is what I was promised. I told them I wanted a refund and they said no because I had already gone into the class for 15 minutes (which I did because they told me I had to to verify access) and thus no refund could be given. Great scam there right. So then I tried getting in touch with a [redacted], turns out there are only like 4 or 5 people at this whole company and they just transferred me back and foth between people. Finally, someone said they would speak with the [redacted] and see what they could do and get back to me in 2 days. Surprise, surprise I never heard back from anyone, had the next 10 emails ignored, had the next 10 phone calls ignored and now can get no response from anyone. Additionally, I was sent not 1 but 2 certificates of completion which is odd since I never even started the course (so unethical). I was told over the phone by 2 people that that was just an error and by another individual that they auto send them out after one month assuming people complete the course. Thus, someone in there was lieing yet again. As of now I can get nobody on the phone, can get no refund, and am not being offered the course. They would be glad to set it up in a month or so in another city nearly 3 hours away and I would have to stay in a hotel at my own expense. Stay away from this company, so unethical and clearly a scam. And to give you an idea that I know what I am talking about, I am the program chair of environmental science for a large online university and thus know exactly how online education should work and this is not it.Desired Settlement: I would like my $2500 refunded for services not rendered

The resolution is satisfactory but I have still not received a dime in refund from the company. I was told originally that the money would be refunded to my credit card within 24 hours. Then I was told I would receive a check. As of yet I have received no money and will not consider this case closed until I have the full agreed upon refund.

Review: I signed up for training classes with cleanedison on July **, 2013. I paid the full price of $2,595 by credit card over the phone. During my sign up conversation, I asked the phone representative what would happen if anything changed in my situation and I was unable to attend the class which was scheduled for August of 2013. The phone representative's reply was that I would receive a full refund if the class was canceled by myself or cleanedison. The first class was rescheduled, and then the second, and by the time a third class was offered my situation had changed and I could no longer travel to the third location. I still have not heard any reply from cleanedison regarding my four requests for a refund. I was guaranteed a refund upon initial sign up for classes in the event that my classes were canceled by cleanedison or myself. My first class and my 2nd class were both canceled by cleanedison. I canceled the third rescheduled class due to a change in my schedule and because I had lost confidence in the integrity of cleanedison. Based upon what I was told by the phone representative at the time that I purchased the class I believe that I should receive a full refund.Desired Settlement: full refund

Sincerely,

Review: I allowed Clean Edison to use my home for a field house to do training for their vocational training over a year ago. While we had an executed contract, the company has refused to pay me the $240 I am owed. I have spoken with several employees who acknowledge that I am due the money and simply do nothing about it. Most recently they said they may be able to offer me 40 or 50 cents on the dollar of what I am owed. I refused as I know it is just a ploy to lead me on further. When I asked how many people they were scamming the [redacted] refused to say but I believe there are likely dozens as he said there is "a list" and I am near the top as I have consistently followed up for a year. I am happy to provide the contract and lengthy email string where they acknowledge and ignore my pleads to get the money I am owed. I want this addressed so others aren't duped like me. These guys are crooks. Taking money from students for trainings and using peoples' homes for free.Desired Settlement: I want my money and for others to be aware of their unethical business practices.

Business

Response:

We have paid for the use of the field house and sent a check as agreed. As soon as that check is received we will consider this complaint resolved and the case closed.

Review: Class was cancelled without notice. In fact a confirmation email was sent the night before to make sure I was attending the class. lost a full week of work because of their lack of communication ,Organization.Desired Settlement: I Expect a full refund of the $1995 I paid plus $1200 in loss wages for the week I took of from work to attend their class.

Business

Response:

Review: I signed up to take a Green Physical Needs Assessment class on May *, 2013. The cost of the class was $595.00 The class was going to be in Atlanta, GA on May [redacted]. The class was canceled several days prior to the start date. The make up class was scheduled for June [redacted] in Dallas, TX. The class was canceled several days prior to the start date. I then asked for a refund of the $595.00 due to the class being canceled twice. The company said they would process the request but it take up to 30 - 45 days. I have still not received my refund as on 11/**/2013. The company no longer returns my phone calls or emails.Desired Settlement: I would like for my refund to be processed. They can either send me a check or credit the debit card which I used to pay for the class
