As stated before your insurance company is responsible for the lighting rod system removal and installation. You must contact them for those expenses. We have not heard from you concerning additional leaking. Therefore, we can assume the more than 4 inches of rain that has fallen since the original leak, there are no current leaks. That confirms  our original statements that the leak occured as a result of leaves built up behind the downspout running across the roof and causing water to run under the shingles because they had not sealed yet because of the cool weather at the time. We are supplementing your insurance company for current pricing and expect to be paid in full.

I am rejecting this response because:Cloud Roofing has not heard from us concerning "additional leaks" because it is always the same leak. I had to climb on the roof myself and put tarp over the skylights after last week's storm forecast. Fortunately it held and prevented further damage. Last week, Skylights Over Texas installed the correct type of flashing for that particular type of skylight. The attached file has three pictures: Cloud Roofing's job (photo taken on 01/14/17), the tarp (taken on 02/12/17) and the correct skylight job (taken today, 02/27/17). Cloud Roofing stated that "we are supplementing your insurance company for current pricing and expect to be paid in full." I do not recall disclosing my insurance details to any Cloud Roofing representative. Rather, I told Cloud Roofing's salesperson that my insurance had already paid me my share. I have never received any invoice from Cloud Roofing. Please email a final invoice to [redacted].

I am rejecting this response because:The owner of the company called me after my phone call  and told me she would be refunding my deposit.  She also told [redacted] Cloud that she would be refunding the deposits.  She never processed my paperwork or ordered materials. They were very adament that they would not honor their contract.

I am rejecting this response because: In no way does an apology, make them realize or deter their policy of violating peoples wish not to have their doorsteps littered with their handbills. Nor does it address their willful violation...

of the city ordinance preventing such handbills where there is a no soliciting or no handbills sign placed on the property near the main entrance. ( which includes the entire property, including the garage door and vehicles by the way, it is the responsibility of the person placing handbills to look near the main entrance for a sign under the ordinance.)Nor do they seem to realize how the practice of putting handbills on doors, and door steps contributes to more serious issues, which is why the ordinance was passed into law in the first place.... For just one example  their handbills are like a green flag to EVERYBODY who passes by that nobody is home as they sit on the doors or doorsteps including criminal elements whom seem to pay particular attention to handbills. For example there are several that were placed on doors which were not removed until the residents got back from their long holiday weekend, which should have never been placed in the first place due to the presence of a no soliciting sign. This company and all others disregarding the handbill ordinance need to realize the seriousness of the violation, and why the city ordinance was passed. There is absolutely no excuse for placing handbills on a door with no soliciting or handbills especially with the city ordinance plainly on the sign.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: It is utterly false that the rain entered a window and resulted in water stimulating the growth of black mold on the inside of the garage, appearing vividly on the white wall and ceiling. My mother is an 86 year old woman who can barely hear and is scheduled for a second cataract surgery in July. We spit the cost of the $7,750 check given to the Cloud Roofing company collector. I have not talked with any representative of the company after an initial visit to our home.It is the opinion of a completely independent roofing company that the leak initiated on the junction of the shingle that Cloud replaced and the outside wall above the garage. An extra $400 was added to the final bill for replacing decking at $40 per sheet. This was a total of 10 new sheets of plywood decking to replace any damaged or rotten decking. The independent roofing company estimated a possible projection of 3 additional sheets of decking if needed. In addition, the independent roofing company recommended installing new metal flashing at the junction of roof and outside wall. The total estimate without additional decking was $1.300. The independent roofing company advertised their being a member of respected roofing industry associations. Presumably, these groups can oversee any poor roofing practices. Photographic records of the black mold damage has been preserved for future reference as needed. It is the recommendation of my attorney that another owner of a local roofing company inspect the roof and come to another opinion. This expert opinion could be used in any future litigation. I personally hope that this does not progress to a lawsuit, but I am fully prepared to go forward.

He was aware he would not get a refund and chose to cancel anyway. He got a cheaper bid and chose to go with that. His insurance company estimated replacement cost, which was equal to our estimate. There is always somebody cheaper.

We have contacted the owner and have found the product he requested. We will be changing it out after the first of the year.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Cloud Roofing may “deny our allegations,” but I am attaching photographs: water on the vaulted ceiling, unsightly caulk around the entire roof, living room contents piled up under plastic since January 15, 2017, and a damaged lightning rod system. I am also attaching costs of the roof leak removal ($600 labor and $400.28 in materials) and the lightning rod system repair ($1,800), adding up to $2,800.28. Our contract with Cloud Roofing is $8,974.95. The cost of the leak removal plus the lightning rod system repair is $2,800.28. The difference is $6174.67. Just the scaffold rental to repair the vaulted ceiling will cost over $200 per day, and nobody can predict how much texture will stay in place while painting. We have not obtained a cost estimate to repair the unsightly white caulk yet. In order to demonstrate our goodwill, we are offering $6,500.00 to settle this complaint with a full release of all our contractual obligations.

We will be issuing a refund check to Ms. [redacted] in the amount of $231.13.

The statements made by **. [redacted] are not factual. There are no current roof leaks. **. [redacted] took an estimate based on what he told a contractor. Not on any investigation by that contractor to verify where possible water entry was coming from.
