Review: We replaced concrete with pavers patio area and around in ground pool. The construction company that was sent were kids from Philadelphia because the salesperson overbooked jobs. They never worked around a pool before and threw away a lot of accessories from the pool. They told us they didn't want to be there. They didn't know what they were doing. After several complaints [redacted] one of the owners of CMS sent a new crew. When the job was complete the cups for the pool ladder was misplaced causing the ladder to rub against the new liner. CMS didn't have time to fix it so they told me to get it done by our pool company and they would reimburse me up to $ 300.00 within 30 days. I did this and forwarded all proof of job with photos of before and after, proof of payment with a certified bank check. After 30 days I had to keep calling and sending e-mails asking for my reimbursement. Finally they sent me a check on Oct 1st which I deposited. On Oct 2nd I received an online notice that the check was being returned Insufficient Funds. I received a copy of the returned check in the mail and was charged a $ 15.00 bank fee for the returned. I sent an e-mail to [redacted] who is the office manager who responded that she didn't know what happened and that [redacted] was not in but she would bring it to his attention. Today I called and was told by [redacted] that neither [redacted] nor [redacted] were in. I tried calling back and [redacted] kept hanging up on me. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in all my life. I am so frustrated with them I just don't know what else to do.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of the promised $ 300.00 plus the $ 15.00 bank fee I was charged. I have copies of all correspondence and returned check.

Review: I hired CMS Construction Co. based on a recommendation from [redacted]

The job was to demolish blacktop driveway and concrete patio and replace it with Cambridge paving stones. The job started with a two weeks delay due to permit, weather and other reasons. Week one was perfect. The crew of three showed up every morning around 8:30 and worked none stop. During that demolition week Charles (the company owner) came in almost every day to inspect the work. During one we those inspections we discovered two additional problems. One, the steps into the basement were crumbling and two the steps leading up to the house the same problem. Charles insisted that they can not be repaired and need to be replaced ( for an additional cost of course). I agreed.

So the crew demolished both sets of steps and partially rebuilt them. Payment for this additional work was collected in full right away. Then they installed 3 pallets of pavers. Charles declared that we are thru the middle of the project and according to the terms of the contract I have to make the "middle payment", which I did. (The first payment was made after we signed the contract, the second at the beginning of the job, second in the middle and the last smallest one was to be paid at the end).

From this point on the project stole. There was about a week delay in delivering additional pavers. Then when they were finally delivered the crew would show up at around 10 am work till 3 - 4 pm and then disappear for another week or so. Needles to say that after collecting the bulk of the money Charles had disappear as well. I started communicating with him thru text messages, so that at least I have a record of what's going on. Well to skip a lot of boring details. The job started at the end of October, it had to be finished in two weeks maximum (according to the salesman Gordon who sold me this project) we are now in the first week of December and it is still not finished. In one of our phone conversation Charles had mentioned to me that they stop the company operation on Dec. 15 and restart again in March. Today is Dec.4 they are not here, the job is not finished, they have almost all of the money (except of the small final payment).

Review: In December of 2012 CMS Construction did stone refacing on a walk out crawl space wall. Right from the beginning I was concerned about the potential for the stones to fall off under the lip for the doorway. I was assured that if this did happen that they would come back to do the repair, it would not be a problem. In early June 2014 three stones fell off the wall under the doorway. I called CMS to do the repair and I was told that they were backed up with repairs, that it might take a few weeks. When I called back in July I was told that they were experiencing delays but they would be there in about 2 weeks. I called again in August, as well as emailing them. At the end of August [redacted] came to my house and confirmed that it was a minor repair and that they would be there in the next two weeks or so. I called the office in September and left a voicemail with [redacted] and sent an email to [redacted] but have never heard back from either of them.Desired Settlement: I would like to have them come out and do the repair that I was promised in June of 2014.

Good afternoon, As a response to [redacted] complaint she did contact us over the summer with the issue's she was having with her stones. It was a very busy summer but we were able to get a project manager out at the end of August to assess the issue. Upon seeing the damage it was determined that the stone had come off due to heavy traffic through the doorway by the homeowner where the stones are located. This is not a warranty item since the stones were knocked off by the homeowners actions. As a courtesy we did say that we would send someone out to glue the stones back in place. We are still trying to catch up on a very busy season so we have not gotten back to [redacted] We will schedule someone to come out and fix the stone as well as show the homeowner how to glue the stones in the future if these particular stone fall off again.Thank you [redacted]

Review: ON 05/23/14 2014,CMS received a check for $1000 as a down payment for work to be done An anticipated start date of 7/4/14 was given. That date

was changed to 7/28/14 and again changed to 9/15/14. When no one came to start the work and I received no phone call,I called on 9/17/14 and was given another start date of 9/25/14 .

Again it was a no show and no phone call. I sent a certified letter, return receipt requested, which was received by CMS on 10/03/14. The letter contained the previous stated facts,

and that I no longer had confidence in the company, therefore I was requesting a refund of the $1000 down payment. As of 10/10/14, I have not received any response. Thank you

for your help this matter.( please note there was no significant weather problems to impede the project.)Desired Settlement: return of deposit

Review: Work was done to replace the front porch. The stones are coming loose and sinking in due to poor fill. I had called them out to inspect the problem according to the warranty which is in under 3 years per the warranty. after confirming the issues , the contractor agreed to due the repairs and will schedule the work. After a week has gone by and failure to reach them by phone( which has been disconnected ) I am still waiting to get the work scheduled. My calls to other numbers just goes to prompts and I cannot reach anyone to obtain any satisfaction.Desired Settlement: Repair the porch per the warranty. Or pay the cost to have another contractor repair

Regards,

Review: My husband and I signed the contract to get our patio done back in April of this year. It is now August and we have yet to get our patio. We have already paid $4,000 upfront and suppose to pay the rest once the project is finished. According to the contract we were to have the patio by June 16th. Not only do I not have the patio, neither the manager or the owner ever returns our calls and communicate why the project has been delayed over 3 months! This is beyond unprofessional and highly disappointed in the service. Our yard has been dug up for over two and half weeks and has not started the project. PLEASE HELP US. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to ever have to go through this. The first excuse of project being delayed was rain, then it was the stones being back ordered. Now that we have the stones - which are sitting in my drive way for over 4 days, they still haven't started the patio!

Business

Response:

We have since started and completed this project without any further issues.
